Jellybean Porting Thread -- Sharing - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This was in the Android Software Developement thread under Android Development and Hacking. Just wanted to post a link to it here for those interested in seeing what is involved with porting 4.1
I do not know if this information will be useful but felt compelled to share it anyway, I take no credit in any of this... again simply just sharing what I found. Good luck to all and for the Devs here thank you for your efforts with all you for for our community.

Thread moved to General, until somebody uses it (& somebody uses this thread) to post a ported Rom off the SDK

Dedicated ROM forums in each platform.

Hi just wondering if possible that admin could create a dedicated ROM forum under each platform forum so that all the ROM's could be posted in them rather them been posted in with all the general posts.
just think it would make things allot more organised for people who just want to look at a list of all the available roms for that particular handset.
I know there are wiki links etc and also posts that try to list them but it would just make things allot simpler if each platform had a rom section rather them then getting posted in the upgrading forum, then the upgrading forums could be solely used for posting guides and help along with questions etc.
I feel this is highly necessary.
rom builders need to have their own place to post their custom roms.
in the samsung captivate forums all the "development" forum is clogged with
postings of custom roms.
customs roms are not actually discussions about development.
please clean this up!!!
its destroying xda.
many developers are taking their development discussions elsewhere.

Android ROM development rules

The Android ROM development subforum is a fact. Congrats on getting Android running on the Omnia 2.
Now, just a few rules to keep it clean and focused on Android.
Always make sure you credit the source from where you get your builds/kernels/tools. The original developer did alot of work and should be known for it.
Don't post any warez. If you're unsure, don't post, but ask first. But I think that's stating the obvious.
Use [TAGS] in your threads. [Kernel] for kernels, [ROM] for ROM images, [APP] for applications, etc.
Keep your thread up-to-date. Which means, your first post or info.
Thanks for reading this. I hope we get some great Android development going here.

[DEV] EFS Autobackup script for ROM Developers & Users

Developers and users, please read this.
All questions need to be posted in that thread and not here.
Very nice! I really like the idea of this. Works great!

Thread closed

Hello XDAites,
I will be your appointed moderator for the forums, and I will try to keep it organised.
If you have any ideas on how to improve or organise our forums please send me a PM.
Android Development Forums are for Android Development Only!!!
If you want to ask something then post it in the General section.
IF YOU ARE NOT DEVELOPING ANYTHING, DO NOT POST IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION.
Have Fun ! Cheers !

Humble request

Hello everyone,
I, as a part of XDA team would request all developers ( except ones who has op in the Android development section - the actual Devs ) not to create separate threads asking the best ROM for the device again and again.
It simply spams the whole section there. Please be responsible. I appreciate that everyone wants best ROM but doesn't mean that each of us should create new threads.
Discuss it within existing threads.
Thanks for the co-operation.
