Create a new CSC... Possible? - Bada Software and Hacking General

I know, that this might be a strange idea...
We know, bada has languages, preconfigurations and keyboards for different countries...
But we also know, that everything depends on the CSC (e.g. INU, DBT, XEO,...)
My intention is to create a complete new CSC...
For Example: ATU for AT&T in USA...
Just in theory...
Maybe one of the experts has an idea, if there is an algorithm for checking CSC...
Maybe it is possible to modify bada in that way, that it can handle "Custom-CSCs"...

If you mean preconfiguration only then yes it is possible
You just need to know some info about the network you are making CSC for
Also edit another CSC preconfiguration and don't make your file from scratch
Just specify the network you want to make the preconfiguration for and i'll try to help you
Best Regards

Why you need it?
you alredy have CSC for a lots of networks..
I mean that you have the CSC for you own network. Whay you need to work about something that exists.
Sorry if I didnt understand your idea.
Sory for my ENGLISH...

taxidriver05 idea isn't strange
new CSC exemple: there isn't CSC preconfigaration for the new operator FREE France

Okay
This sounds good
Can you please provide network configuration profiles ??
I am ready to make that CSC profile...maybe i'll call it FFR (If Samsung didn't already give it a name)
I'll take care of the rest...just network config is required
As a start the MCC/MNC of Free France is either 20814 or 20815
This code is for the phone to show network name in Lock screen & Status bar

Free France CSC is ready (or i hope so)
There was no server ip or port no. on the website that Soxix provided (Thanks for that...my french is so poor and this was a great help )
Only for FW developers
Please try this CSC profile if you have a Free France SIM card to test with
I guess that files will talk about itself

[Q] extracting firmware from S8500

Hi,
I was wondering if there is any way to extract the firmware from my S8500T handset? I'm wanting to do this as there is no copy of this firmware available and I want it as a back-up in case things go wrong with flashing to other firmwares.
my S8500T runs S8500MBJF2, S8500HUTJF2
any ideas?
thanks!
What country / provider is your phone?
@ beigebullet
Please post Product Code you see this via sTune. Something like this : GT-S8500BAADBT
So I could try something...
About your Question.
Not impossible, but only JTAG known to dump Firmware.

Ah do you mean 'Product Name'? In sTune all I get is xxxxxxxxxxxx.
I've manually changed my CSC from HUT (ie. Three Hutchison australia) to KOR but I can change that back if needed...

Yes, correct.
xxxxxxxx I saw several times.
This means NV item 2757 (HEX Value) is empty.
Kies without valid Product Code do nothing.

Attention!
I'm not sure. But for instance S8500R seems to have problems with normal Firmware... maybe incompatibility.

Hmm, so can I somehow get a valid Product Code from Samsung?
And yes, the S8500T is not compatible with normal firmware, as the T version runs on 850/2100Mhz bands, not the 900/2100 on standard firmware. This is the reason I want to extract the firmware from my phone, as I'd like it for a backup.
Thanks for your help adfree

[Q] Is it possible to change the product code

If kies cannot update your phone, first point to verify is the installed csc in Pre-Configuration setting. For kies to upgrade your phone, you need to install a full firmware for your region, and select the correct csc file in Pre-Configuration (after flashing).
Product codes don't change by themselves. So if you never changed yours, maybe it shouldn't have changed by itself. But if it did, then you need to revert it back to it's original.
Caution here, the process involved in changing product is not for noobs, so be careful if you choose to do so.
There are lots of tutorials on product code change in this forum. Just need a patient search to find them.
You can as well read this tutorial from another forum. I hope it helps out.
hi all,
Yes it's possible and it's verry simple, but you need to flash your phone twice.
Here is the solution:
Flash S8500XXJID (the only one capable of changing the product code).
Change your product code #272#HHMM# >>XEF for exemple.
Flash with S8500XXJL2 or other original fw for your region.
Enjoy!
Flash S8500XXJID (the only one capable of changing the product code).

Who told you that?!!!!!
Any 1.2 FW is capable of changing the product code through the pre-config menu
the method that spacks mentioned is for the people who don't want to lose any data through flashing or pre-configuring their phones
Please dig in things more before talking about it
XXJID is not that special

Who can give me stock rom??because i want to make a rom.If stock rom is format .tar how use this in kitchen?need to change .tar to .zip?
You said in my topic("anyone can give me stock rom") to post here and i posted
So, here are my question about ROM's :
1) What is the real goal of a ROM ? Providing new themes and cool fonts ? Does it improves performance or does it comes with real new fonctionnalities ?
2) I tried some ROM like Hybrid, Sense Aurora.. But after installing them on my phone, the french language (yes, I am ) wasn't available. Should I change CSC after installing a new ROM ?
3) Now a question a bit more technical (I study in computer sciences).. Why a ROM like CyanogenMod need a custom Kernel ?

i tried to reply to your message but it seem you cant recive messages.
you can get one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800.XXLA2 is the latest european.but kitchen cant decompile these img files.you must use a backup from your rom.thats the way i did it.but also download the firmware from the link igave to take the boot.img from there.
So, here are my question about ROM's :
1) What is the real goal of a ROM ? Providing new themes and cool fonts ? Does it improves performance or does it comes with real new fonctionnalities ?
well on another phone i had before this...
i had csutom settings,,
like management of governors and io...in return both either gives you better response or save battery..
my older phone doesnt support gb or live wallpapers.so after doing a custom rom..i now had that features..
as for the galaxy y..
so far the custom rom are just themed and a2sd support and removed bloatware,,
make your phone fast and lite but still basically is pretty much like the stock roms...
just looks better,functionality,,
naaa,,,long way to go,,
a2sd was just made to work couple of days ago...
no oc,no undervoltage..so nothing much really..
2) I tried some ROM like Hybrid, Sense Aurora.. But after installing them on my phone, the french language (yes, I am ) wasn't available. Should I change CSC after installing a new ROM ?
there are instructions on each rom on how to install,,,
3) Now a question a bit more technical (I study in computer sciences).. Why a ROM like CyanogenMod need a custom Kernel ?
for the above mentioned,,,
cm,,is a very customizable rom itself,,
without the custom kernel,,its just a themed stock rom...
Thank you in advance

Every Stock ROM has 3 parts:
PDA, CSC, Modem
PDA - it is the kernel, Android OS, the user interface, and all the applications
CSC - Carrier Specific Configuration (maybe) - this part has setting for a given provider's setup (Internet access, voicemail numbers, default homepages, sometimes carrier bloatware, etc...)
Modem - this is the phone, wifi, bluetooth, fm radio functionality
The naming convention of a Stock ROM package specifies, which languages, network providers and communication frequencies supported by a given pack.
For example:
S5360XXLA2_S5360OXXLA2_RST_S5360XXLA2_HOME.tar.md5
S5360DXLA1_S5360OLBLA1_S5360DXLA1_HOME.tar.md5
The package name consist of the following parts in order: PDA, CSC, Modem
coding
PDA:
S5360 - implicit, the phone model
XX: landcode - specifies which countries, languages supported by the user interface. In this case XX is multilang european build for countries Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, languages de,en,es,fr,hu,it,nl,pt(cs,da,el,fi,no,pl,sl,sv,tr )
DX: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam. Languages: en,id,ms,th,vi,zh(ta)
LA2 - version build identifier: L for 2012, A for January, 2 for second build
CSC:
S5360 - implicit, the phone model
OXX: Multi CSC for several european countries. Included country codes: ATO AUT COS CPW CYO CYV EIR EUR FOP ITV MOO PAN PHE SUW TPH XEF XEH XEO XEU XEZ XSK
OLB: Multi CSC for SE Asia. Country codes: GLB MM1 SIN SMA STH THL XEV XME XSE XSP XTC XTE
LA2 - build id, same as above
Modem
letter code meaning same as PDA, sometimes the modem is different (older) version as PDA, not all packs have new modem.
So back to your question, If you need french lang support, then you have to choose firmwares in its name "XX" in the PDA version
But replacing CSC will not give you additional lang support.

You don't need any zip or tar file. Install Root Explorer and then copy system folder to SD card. Then install Terminal emulator and write -
su
dd if=/dev/block/bml7/boot.img of=/sdcard/boot.img
You will get a copy of boot.img in your sdcard
Now connect phone to PC and on desktop make a folder named WORKING_STOCK and copy both, the boot.img and SYSTEM folder from SD card to the folder. This is your Stock ROM
Best Custom Rom
I wanna know which currently available ROM consumes least RAM nd has a decent battery consumption time(& least buggy)? Currently I am using Creed's 2.1.. it's gr8.. bt I donno if it's the best one around regarding my concerns!

Can I change Region

Hello I just bought Galaxy watch and I believe it was manufactured in Saudi arabia. I'm missing some apps such as spotify and galaxy app of my phone is in arabic and I can't seem to change that.
Is there a way for me to switch the region of my watch to something like USA so that I could install Spotify. and I know this isn't related but how do I change the region on Galaxy Wearable ? when I acess galaxy apps from it everything is in arabic which is really annoying.

C
CSC/Sales Code aka region lock/crap Branding Warranty Tales...
Serial Number detects Original Factory CSC...

Changing CSC SM-R825F from Hungary to UK

Hi!
I've been lurking this forum for a while and am really eager to change my Galaxy Watch Active 2 CSC from Hungary to UK to make Samsung Pay work. I have a Curve card specially for this but I've been too afraid to do it because I'm afraid I will lose the 4G functionality of my Hungarian Telekom provider.
Right now my watch is set up with Telekom and has 4G set up as esim.
My big question is if I change my CSC to UK, will I lose the 4G functionality? Will I still be able to connect to my Hungarian esim account?
Please let me know, any information is greatly appreciated!!

I did it, Samsung Pay worked, but it doesn't connect to the Telekom network. Then I also made the mistake of wanting to re-register the eSIM, but it no longer allows me to try any available ROM. Now I should get the factory Telekom ROM, but I have no idea where it comes from. It sucks. Very big sucks.
Theory.
ESIM is activated and work. :good:
IMHO eSIM profile will not be erased.
So IMHO eSIM is lowest problem.
But SPay chance 50 / 50...
Maybe your plan will NOT work for Samsung Pay...

Hi Adfree,
First of all I want to thank you for your reply and all the work you are doing for this community. You are by far THE Galaxy watch expert. You're always commenting constructive feedback to people.
Everywhere I see your comments and helping out people. A big THANK YOU!
I will try to change the CSC, even though I'm a big newbie to this.
One last question: will I be able to revert the watch to its original state if it turns out it doesn't work? With that I mean original firmware that it came with?
