[Q] New SD Card wont mount...

I bought a new 16gb sd card to replace my 2gb one. My phone now wont mount the new sd card. Everytime I hit mount sd card it says "SD card safe to remove". I've tried reformatting the card in the settings and mounting and reformatting the card in Clockwork with no success. I rooted my phone on the old 2gb card. I tried another new 2gb card and it mounted fine. The 16gb is a sandisk class 2. The card I rooted on is a Lexar and the other 2gb card is a sandisk. Could it be that 16gb is bad?
Copy the contents of the 2 gb card to your PC. Then try formatting the 16 on your PC- don't forget it must be FAT 32 - then copy contents from 2 to the 16, that should work. If it doesn't, it's the card.

[Q] Is my Micro SD card really a class 10?

Hi! I bought a class 10, 8 gb micro sd card from a not-so-trustworthy dealer a couple of week ago for my Galaxy W. The package says it's class 10, but my antutu benchmark tests shows 5.2 MB/s for SD card write and 22.7 MB/s SD card read. I started doubting the authenticity of my SD card when I saw an antutu screenshot somewhere here that showed 15 MB/s SD card write. Someone please help..
Try using SDTools on the market, it tests your External SD card and shows the result about the write/read speed of your External SD card.
And when using Antutu benchmark, make sure that the External SD Card is being tested, and not the Internal SD Card. Open the menu -> Settings -> Choose SD Card, make sure it shows "/sdcard/external_sd", and not just "/sdcard"
Hope this helps
Wow so that's the trick! Thanks for your help bro, now my SD card write is 13.3 MB/s.
Glad to hear that it worked out

Either format the SD card with your phone/computer to Fat32, or, if you bought a 64GB SD card like some of us, follow the link.

I think you have it backwards! The SD Card on new phones, ie. Samsung GS3, refers to the built-in memory. If you insert a micro SD Card, it will be known as the "Ext SD Card".
Anyone, anyone....

But in wonder if you use the storage setting and tick the use internal memory the sd card and external will be swapped. I guess i'm based on that. So maybe i'm wrong. At least it is almost right

SD card = the built in memory from your phone, but some phone have only small amount of memory so you cannot install games/apps anymore because it's already full.
Ext SD Card = have a bigger amount of memory 8gb,16gb, 32gb, 64gb that means you can install more games/apps than internal.
So, if your phone internal is full, you can use your ext sd card as internal which is bigger and it's called "swap"

Menu > System Settings > Storage
SD card = listed as INTERNAL STORAGE. On our Wonder, this is 1.7GB in size.
External SD card = the microSD card you insert at the back of your phone. It's available in different sizes and classes. Under Storage, it is listed as SD CARD.
I hope this clears it up for you.
AFAIK
SD card= internal phone memory
ext SD card = sd card that you inserted
Just to avoid further confusion when it comes to terminology:
Memory is just like the RAM in your computer. It is where a program's commands are queued for use of the processor.
Storage is just like the hard disk in your computer. It is where the programs/apps are actually stored.
When you go to Menu > Manage Apps,
Memory can be seen only under 'Running' tab. In the case of CM9 Beta 1, it should amount to 352MB total size.
Internal Storage is under the 'Downloaded' and 'All' tab.
'On SD Card' shows you what's on your SD Card.
I hope this helps.

By default, 64 Gig card is formatted in exFAT which is not currently supported. I had the same issue earlier.
Connect your card via Card reader to a computer and format it as FAT32. It should work. Search for "fat32format.exe". This should easily format the 64G card without any issues.
