T-mobile Automatic upgrade to Premium web with SIII - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I just noticed on t-mobile.com that my data plan was upgraded the the $35 Premium plan. I had the $20 Preferred plan. I was not aware of the change when I purchased the SIII. Called t-mo and they changed it back no problem. I'm not a big data user so 2 gig or 5 gig before throttle doesn't matter. Price does.

they did that to me to, changed it and didn't tell me I was pissed. But they changed it back

T-mobile wont give me 2 GB plan

My monthly data usage is around 400 MB. SO i called tmobile to change from $30 unlimited to $20 2 GB plan. They are saying that option is not available to me!! Called 3 reps and one supervisor and no go. Only options are 200 MB plan for $10 and 5GB + hotspot for $35. So i had to change to 200 MB plan:crying:
Glad this phone can set a usage limit. Why is the 2 GB plan not available
I'm not sure but I think you might be on a different plan and those are the only ones available
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
Try calling and saying cancellation when you select speak to operator...if the retentions cant do it then maybe it is your plan? You should ask why not when everyone else so far has the option of the 2 gb..
Ask them why?
Walk into a store (not literally ). I have a 2GB plan.
Yeah I think I am going to the store tomorrow. I asked all of them wht, they are saying the system is not showing it as an option. One guy told that the unlimited is a required plan for Android smart phone and that is why. I wonder how they are changing to 200 MB if that is the case!
Atleast they arent trying to sell you 1gb for $50 like verizon lol. Just switched to tmobile and Im getting 5gb for $25. Couldnt be happier.

I have the 5gb plan for $20, but I have a been a customer for a long time. Tmo actually messed up and downgraded me to the 2g and I called and they corrected it. Never had a problem with Tmo service.

Sounds like its not compatible with your plan. I can't get 200MB of data

Certain grandfathered plans aren't compatible with that option; it will simply not display as available. You'll have to change the plan too.

Call and when automated operator ask how may I help you say "cancel". The will transfer you to retentions dept. they will def tell you why you can't get a 2gb data plan. Might be your current plan.
One possible reason is that t-mo is requiring everyone who buys a s3 to subscribe to a 5gb plan. I got the 5gb plan and called right away to change it back to 2gb and they did it no problem. Another thing to try might be to try and change it online.

Certain grandfathered plans have access to only certain data plans. One reason why I said...f**K it. I'm going prepaid! Paid for the phone in full...but i'm saving so much more in the long run.
Well I went into tmo the other day and most of the phones had stickers on them that said they required 5gb plan.

Hopefully they just add $5 more to the 30/monthly 4G plan.

I just hope tmobile's network will be able to take the hit from all of us data hogs + the new ones who will be making the switch. That's the only thing that worries me because it would suck to be on an unlimited data plan that only crawls along web pages and streaming.

I was a little bummed that I left sprint after 9 years and was missing my sprint unlimited everything and have been keeping a good eye on my usage now with TMO so I dont go over. Now I'm really glad I switched over. Currently on the value $64.99 (500 min, unltd texts, and 5gb data) plan and from the looks of it I'll be paying $5 more to get the unlimited everything. Cant wait for the 5th! The plus side of Tmo is I get 4g speeds in 99% places I go and didnt have to wait for LTE to roll out for sprint.

Customer retention can offer you unlimited 5GB data for $20 (this does not have the tethering option) and it can be added now, no need to wait till the 5th. They only have the 5GB plan, i already asked about the 2GB for $10 and they said they don't have that offer. I didn't take this option even though it is $10 cheaper (I currently have the grandfathered unlimited data & text for $35) cause I always find myself tethering my laptop or tablet during travel when the hotel wireless is spotty.
I just got the 5 gig from retention but the rep states that I still will only have a five gig cap is this true? or does he know what he's talking about? I'm thinking he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. But got that plan from retention for 20 bucks a month

Yeah, you get 4G for 250mb and then 3G the rest of the way. Since I'm hardly ever in a 4G area it doesn't really make a difference for me. The 3G speeds seem fine in my area, but I would guess it all depends on where you are. I'm in a suburb of St. Paul, MN. I get about 200kbps down and 250kbps up. I only care about work emails when I'm on the road though...so that's fine.

My contract with TMO just ended as well so I decided to try an alternative myself. I unlocked the phone, went to WalMart and bought the Straight Talk SIM. It costs 45 bucks a month + 15 bucks 1 time for the SIM for unlimited everything (TALK, TEXT & DATA) and uses the AT&T network.
So far so good!
I'm running the Domination V2 ROM and everything seems to run great.

I'm running simple mobile. I play 50 bucks a month and I have unlimited talk text and HSPA+ 42.2. So its like having the actual T-Mobile but for cheaper, however, some say that they threat on account cancellation after 2GB. I'm surrounded by WiFi and I don't watch videos on the go lunch so I've never gone over the 2GB. I may go to straight talk AT&T because I know AT&T has better coverage but I know I won't be getting 12mbps down anymore. It will.be more like 4 or 5. I also heard that straight talk kills some customers by throttling them to 200kbps. So that's the only reason why I'm afraid to switch from simple

They're shifting everyone to LTE - I think - to try and start taking down WiMax in some of these markets. I'll be interested to see if any new devices will be able to use the Clear band anytime soon.
All in all will be an interesting year for Sprint. If the deals go their way they may be in nice shape for the rest of the CY.
Only devices using wimax now are the multi band hotspots and clears routers/hotspots. No new wimax phones are being produced, but older stock maybe rebranded a la the epic touch on boost and vm
I like to break stuff!
I used to work for boost.. To this day customer service sucks... Virgin is the worst though

Then again, I had Cricket not too long ago (switched from Cricket to Sprint when I got the Note 2 on opening day) with my EVO 3D and they make you pay for each GB of data per month.
I had 2GB and was paying 60 a month. It sucked when the data speeds slowed.

Yes I am authorized for 10 plus lines on my "account". But the limit per "plan" is supposed to be only 5 lines. So you can have 2 plans with 5 lines each, but not 10 on one plan. Unless you open a business plan.

Cricket wireless has the best plan then any cell phonw provider. There new plans include. $60 for 2gb+free tethering and $70 for 5GB of data and tethering is it worth an extra 10? I think so lol
