USB sound output " issue"

Guys,I recently bought a NuForce icon HDP and I experience this strange thing... When I connect my phone to the DAC/amp and play music to my headphones I am able to adjust the sound level from my phone. This leads me to believe I haven't bypassed the internal DAC/Amp inside the phone and thus failing to use my icon HDP to it's real purpose. I'm using the stock music player app and I'm on Perseus kernel. In the STweaks app I've checked DAC oversampling and DAC direct.
Can anyone tell me if I'm doing anything wrong and if so maybe give me a possible solution?

External DAC + Spotify. Is ROOT a solution?

henno.
I have a oneplus 3 and a dragonfly DAC and use USB Audio player PRO.
Spotify doesnt work with external DAC.
If i play spotify via the phone speaker then connect my DAC it will play using the DAC (kinda) but when I give permissions to USB Audio player PRO (Uapp) the playback stops but will continue to play via the headphone jack of my phone.
Is there a soution?
If I root? Change from stock ROM?
Thanks
Jamie

No, you can only use Spotify with Android native driver for external DAC. You don't need permission for that, permission is only for apps that use exclusive mode while playing music like UAPP because of its own driver. Personally I don't use Spotify with external DAC because of lower volume and stuttering issues (native Android driver sucks). I only use UAPP with streaming via Tidal connected to Hifime 9018.
Edit: What I meant was Spotify will work with external DAC but the prompted permission once you connected the DAC is for UAPP. So just deny it and play normally using apps like Spotify, YouTube etc.

External sound card input not working with USB OTG

Hello XDA,
I have a Moto G5S and a CSL sound card (7.1 output and 2 mic input). I'm connecting the sound card to the phone with a USB OTG 2.0 cable.
When connected, the sound card starts up and I can control the audio volume from the keys on the soundcard. Also, the audio output is automatically redirected to the sound card, so I can listen to audio output from the "line out" of the sound card.
However, I cannot get the input mic lines to work. I tried various apps such as n-Track 9, WaveEditor, USB Audio Recorder, and so on and no one of them is able to record from the sound card.
In Linux, the sound card works out of the box.
Do you have any suggestion to get the input mic from the sound card?
I think it strange that it even work ?
I think you need additional drivers into kernel. But probably it will be unavailable in our kernel, or you have to port it itself for montana kernel, to fully support possibilities of your external sound card.
Additionaly, if u want a help in that kind of trouble, please include logs, extact device model (best will be device id from linux) and if possible, check first on stock rom or other device. If it does not work there, its provably unfixable problem.
Thanks in advance, good night.
This seems like a very overkill setup
