Remove previously downloaded (now uninstalled) apps from Play Store? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Title says it all! Some 'friends' installed some inappropriate apps on my phone and while I uninstalled them, they still remain under My Apps - All.
Any ideas? I'm worried that since this is stored on google's side this will be marring my account forever and I would prefer it not to. Searches have led me nowhere.

Deleting apps from My Apps/My Orders
At this time, there is no way to delete records of old apps either on the Google Play website (play.google.com) or from the My Apps section of the Google Play Store app.
We know that some users are looking for a way to delete old apps from Google Play, and we'll certainly take this into account as we work to improve the Google Play experience in the future.

In Short, you're stuck with it, short of making a new google account and re-buying everything there.
PS: That was item #2 in a google search for : google play remove app from my apps

SOLUTION: remove old uninstalled apps from your Play list
Even though on Google support page the answer is that it still cannot be done I have just done it on my phone.
The Play version that I have is 3.9.16, for Jelly Bean and I'm running CM10 on SGS3.
You need to go to the Play-> all apps and the uninstalled ones have a mark on the right. now you hold the app for a while and it becomes 'marked'.
Marking additional apps is done by short press. when you've all the ones you want to remove from the list in top right corner there's 'remove' button. Press out and voila, your Play list is cleaned up.

deleting bundled apps

is it possible?
I am in the UK on the orange network, and i am already having some low space issues so i want to delete the demos that were bundled onto the phone when it was sent to me. However, unlike any app which i install myself, i dont have the option to uninstall the ones which were pre-bundled. Anyone know a way of doing this?
thanks
is a known issue that the orange rom comes prebundled with a load of tosh
many people here rooted their phone and put on the stock htc rom
an orange update has been released btw, make sure you have the latest version
You don't have to root to load the generic RUU.
thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately ive customised my phone all too much now with the apps i want and email accounts etc to now go and delete it all and load a new rom...guess im stuck with these stupid demos filling up my phone storage space!
how do i go about getting the new orange update? do i need to phone them?
thanks

to update:
Settings/about phone/system software updates/check now
to check what you've got:
settings/about phone/software information/software number.
i'm on orange uk too and i'm on 1.15.61.10 which is the latest.
And no, you can't remove the branding. It's a bit crap. Now I keep getting told there are updates to the facebook app, even though I have no interest in Facebook. They've remoted the google talk app, but left the service running, wasting battery, cpu and data.
Google Talk you can turn off - load it once and then adjust settings.

I can't load it - Orange doesn't include it in their rom!
Try this
Install the google talk app. That'll give you access to shut it down (uncheck automatically sign in in the settings). Then delete app.

Hmm. Not showing on the Market - I'd have to find some .apk file or other. I think i'll stick with 1) ignoring the service or 2)killing it whenever I reboot.
You must have the app surely if it loads? Certain it isn't among the apps icons?

You can find the apk here:

I installed and unchecked "sign automatically". Yet to see a battery life response.

Carriers customize the phones. Orange adds icons for IM, internet etc, scenes etc etc. You can't remove it. They've removed google talk (I'm not imagining it - google for it) but left the service running.
Bizarre! Hope you get it sorted. Complain!

[Q] Weird program keep downloading to my HTC One X

Hi everyone.
I recently went to the playstore and downloaded a few applications for my new HTC One X (Which I looooove btw)
Problem is though, I think as I downloaded it, a virus or an advertising program was installed with it.
When I check my notification list once in a while it has a download ready called something like "Miniskirtmania" and as I try to get it away, or clear the list, it starts downloading onto my phone. I clicked on it to see where it would bring me and it seems like its to some website, but my phone is blocking me from going to that website as it is not from the application store or whatever.
Arent there a way to get rid of this stupid thing? I deleted the application which I thought it was, but it still keeps coming. Cant I block the thing or?
I really hope you can help as its driving me crazy
Try logging into market dot android dot com (Sorry, I don't have enough posts on this forum to post a direct link yet ) using the same Google Account as you've used to log into Play Store with and sorting it from there.
Else, go to Settings, Applications, Google Play Store and clear the App Data in there.

Any suggestions then? :&
Backup everything and do factory reset.
Or there is one Lookout app which tell you what apps are using adds.
Or delete all apps that you installed.
Just in case download some "antivirus" app and scan your mobile, I now many will tell there is no way that virus will be in android, but as you can see here, experts nows their job, somewhere may be one looking for shortcut in underground.
I always check reviews to see what other are saying about any app before downloading.
p.s. sending from my small nexus so didnt see that you already done some steps. Sorry.

Actually many will tell you there are viruses and that these "anti virus" apps are useless. google normally pulls these infected apps way before they get picked up by the apps.

How to get a list of purchased apps?

Other than looking at my CC purchase report. Report is OK. I can filter by "Google" and I believe that all the paid apps are included.
But is it possible to do that in Google Play Web or App?
In the Web I can find only all Apps I downloaded and All Apps which are installed. But they are not categorized as purchased or not.
Any ideas?
I wish google would do this also in their play store app, I'm sick of seeing every app I have downloaded over the last 3 years in the all apps tab an I can't even delete them from the list.

Exactly. I can see only a list of every ****ty app I downloaded. It's really annoying that we can't filter the list.
Ditto! I remember the "old" Google market where you can look at just the purchased apps, but now with Google play you can't.
I wish they can create some way to sort.
Now, you might be able to see all you purchased apps on a pc. I think.

I might be wrong, but I think there is a list of those apps if you look through the Google Wallet website.

Nice ! I never even thought of that. G.W. is useless in Canada so far, so I never would think to check that, but lo and behold. Thank you !
It would be nice if Google Play Store could do that though, but at least this way I can view the list, then search the market for specific purchased apps, rather than scrolling thru a jumbled, unorganized mess of crapps I have installed in the past.

No problem. I do agree though, the Play store app needs search filters that allows that.

You can see a list of all purchases if you log into the Google Wallet site, however it also includes all purchases from the play store (music, magazines, offers), so it might still be too much information. My advise would be to install appbrain on your phone and sync the apps to appbrain. It will compile a list of paid applications for you and is a handy way to see how much you have spent in the market. The only short fall of this method is it will not account for apps that were purchased and removed prior to syncing.
Finally!!!
A solution we were looking for: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...apps-in-one-place-with-the-legacy-play-store/
So we have two ways so far:
1) Google Wallet page
2) Hacked old Playstore app

Unused/Deleted Apps - Google Play Store - Support Reply

This may be covered in another thread, but i just received this from google support regarding my continued ***** about not being able to delete unused, uninstalled, non working apps listed on the play store granted.. they still show up on the web but now its not on my GSIII any longer.. Thank god... it took google too long to address this issue: :good:
Thank you for contacting Google. At this time, there is no way to delete records of old apps from the Google Play website (play.google.com).
However, if you're running the latest version (3.9+) of the Google Play Store app on your device (to find out the version you're running, launch Google Play, then tap Settings > Build version), you have the ability to remove apps from your My Apps list. At this time, the latest version of the Google Play Store app is slowly being released to devices around the world.
To do so, open the Google Play Store app > My Apps > All, tap the gray circle on the app you want to remove, then tap OK to confirm. You can select multiple apps to remove from the list by long-pressing an app, then tapping more apps in the list.
Note that you will only see the gray circle for apps that are not installed on that device. Removing an app from your My Apps list will uninstall the app from any other devices associated with your account. To get an app back that you've removed from your My Apps list, you must re-download the item from Google Play. If you remove a purchased app, there's no need to re-purchase that app - simply visit the app's details page on Google Play and re-install it.
If you're still running a version of the Google Play Store app below 3.9, you will not be able to remove apps from your My Apps list.
Regards,
Danielle

I wish every time you deleted an app the list didn't refresh all the way to the top.. Also after rom installs do they come back and show again?

No they do not. They are also removed from the PC version when you log on from there. It makes it so much easier to try and an app and then delete it for good out of your list.
Nice to be able to finally batch delete...now if only we could batch install...
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda premium
Well..you can now...the downside? Batch remove isn't available anymore.
The list doesnt refresh anymore thank god. It was so irritating when each time you erase the app from the list you have to scroll again to the point where you stopped before removing the app from the list. And I just got to know that you can actually select multiple apps from that list and install them at once instead of going to each app and pressing intall. COOL!!!

[Q] Shared Google Calendars won't show up?!

I can't see any Google calendar which has been shared to me by other persons.

I have Google calendar on my phone, even without having the Play Store installed, but I don't use it very much. So, I don't know how it's fairing in light of what's going on with the current Play Store Services update. It's probably related to that. I'll just post what I've been posting on other threads, because it's most likely being caused by this anyway.
This is an Android issue not a Fire Phone issue. See this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/general/google-play-services-crashing-t3084355 Further tinkering with your Fire Phone will not fix it. If you go to the google play services page of the play store, you'll see that the app is awash in 1 star reviews from people with lots of different phones. Google forced an update, and it broke stuff.

Any type of odd behavior you're seeing from any Google apps at this time is most likely due to the above.
No, that's not related to Google, I think.
The Fire Phone OS doesn't seem to have the feature to include shared calendars and so they won't be displayed in the original Amazon calendar (and any other calendar) app (in the Amazon app store).

Ah, I see. Welp, I can't help you with that then. Like I said, I don't really use it much. For me, it's primarily a glorified placeholder for collections of pre-made calendar add-ons (e.g., American/International Holidays, Hebrew Calendar, etc.). Sorry.
