AAA discount with sprint. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I dont know if this is regional or national, but AAA Oregon just posted via their twitter that AAA members get with new line activations get a $50 credit on their first bill. Which isnt a super huge discount or anything, but hey.... 50 bucks is nice right?

Help understanding my bill

I know this isn't relevant to the gs3, but I own one with an eid plan so I figured why not
Anywho, I'm having a hard time understanding my bill, the first one was 71 dollars as expected
20 dollar eid
35 dollar voice
5 dollar texting
10 dollar data
tax
Now this one is 51.30
did they forget to include the eid or?

No the activation fee was waived, it's my second bill though.
Corporate Discount?
I get 15% off from being a student but that's like 8 dollars not 20.
call tmo and ask?
Yea, that's a 611 question.
id prolly let that one stay a mystery, maybe itll be like that every month from now on. tmob makes huge money, let them catch their own mistakes.

Its eip not eid first of all
And eip doesnt go on the bill right away. If you look at your eip papers, you will see a date when it starts going on. Usually about 2 months from when you activate.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I really think you need to ask tmo but I bet it's because your first bill included a partial month.
The phone payments start about 2 months in.
First bill had pro rated charges, second bill is your regular bill, and third bill will have the regular bill plus the 20 for your phone that was split up on E.I.P.

Only if you're at a qualifying school. Mine didn't qualify it used to but was only 8%.
Only certain schools. Private schools don't get one and if your on the value plan, you don't get one either. So to the original poster, if your on value plan, your not gonna get a discount on your bill. No if ands or buts, but if your on the classic plan you do get one. Only benefit of a student discount on your bill is to get the act fee waived on value plan.

Wow, and you work for T-Mobile? How bout you call customer care tomorrow, enter your little token and pass code and ask them if a customer on a value plan gets a discount on their bill. What really bugs me is how some reps will lie to customers about that discount in order to have the activate. Have heard of that happening!

I'm on a value plan and get a discount.....

[ADVICE] Am I paying too much?

Just wanted some opinions from you guys that own an s3 on tmobile.
The plan I have is unlimited minutes, unlimited text, and 2gb of 4G data(unlimited throttled).
It's a two year contract classic plan that expires next month in February.
My average over the last 3 months of whenever minutes is 447, and data around 1.1gb.

I was thinking of going with the value plan with 500 minutes, unlimited text and 2gb of 4G data for $49.99 which is a 30 dollar savings each month. But I'm sketchy about the value plans for some reason.
Has anyone switched from a classic plan to a value plan without issues and not regret?

My contract with TMO just ended as well so I decided to try an alternative myself. I unlocked the phone, went to WalMart and bought the Straight Talk SIM. It costs 45 bucks a month + 15 bucks 1 time for the SIM for unlimited everything (TALK, TEXT & DATA) and uses the AT&T network.
So far so good!
I'm running the Domination V2 ROM and everything seems to run great.

Out of curiosity why did you go with the att sim, because I know straight talk also has a tmobile sim.
I put in an att sim card in my tmo s3 unlocked, and the data speeds were really slow.

They were out of the TMO SIMS when I went to the store. AT&T and TMO seem to share the same towers in my area so I haven't noticed any reduction in speed. Tethering works great as well..

Wouldn't 500/1000 minutes or w.e the classic plan is be like $10/20 cheaper a month? I think they allow you to change without a penalty...
Here's mine...
5 lines
3,000 shared minutes.
Unlimited texts.
3 lines have unlimited 2gb data & 2 lines have the unlimited 5gb.
Edit: oh yeah forgot to add that 4 of the lines have insurance.
Total bill after taxes is $230

We have 3 lines 1200 min ,unlimited text ,5gb data each and [email protected] home. Also all 3 line have insurence. I pay 150. Although if I wasnt on contract and it was just me I would use straight talk.
I have one line, 500 min, unlimited txt, and the unlimited 4g, paying around 85 a month. Value plan though so when i finish paying up the S3 it will be $15-$20 cheaper, though I'll probably end up getting the s4 so it will stay around the same

I'm running simple mobile. I play 50 bucks a month and I have unlimited talk text and HSPA+ 42.2. So its like having the actual T-Mobile but for cheaper, however, some say that they threat on account cancellation after 2GB. I'm surrounded by WiFi and I don't watch videos on the go lunch so I've never gone over the 2GB. I may go to straight talk AT&T because I know AT&T has better coverage but I know I won't be getting 12mbps down anymore. It will.be more like 4 or 5. I also heard that straight talk kills some customers by throttling them to 200kbps. So that's the only reason why I'm afraid to switch from simple

Who says there is no contract on T-Mobile anymore ??

Nobody said the classic subsidized plans were eliminated completely. Walmart, Costco, Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers who carry Tmobile phone still have the old plans because retailers get a cut when they lock in customers for two years. But at Tmobile corporate stores and online at tmobile.com, only the new plans are offered. Tmobile is all about choice, which you don't have at Att, Verizon, or Sprint

They didnt get rid of contracts, they just now offer no contract plans.
I got the GS4 no contract and the monthly payment is $50 unlimited everything and $20 if you dont want them to slow down 4G after 500MB/month.
comes out to $70, next line would be $50 and every line after would be $30.
Comes out cheaper than that $79
I signed 2YR contract with tmobile and paid 150 for mine

Because the price without contract is actually better than with contract. Let me crunch the numbers -
With Contract from Costco: $200 for Galaxy S4 + $80/month for unlimited talk/text/2.5GB web = $2,120 over the 2 year contact
Without Contract from T-Mobile.com: $630 for Galaxy S4 + $60/month for unlimited talk/text/2.5GB web = $ 2070 over 2 years period
The economics are even better if you bring a $300 Nexus 4 instead of purchasing a Galaxy S4. And if you are in a family plan, you're talking about over a thousand dollar in savings across multiple lines. BUT the biggest benefit is that after 2 years, you will pay $60/mo off contract no matter which phone you use, whereas under contract you'll still pay $80/mo long after you've technically paid off the subsidy.

Because you pay less when you bring your own phone. If you want contract there is the eip plan where you pay $20 more per month. On other carriers there is no option like this. Bottom line you pay only for service not for the device. In other carriers even if you bring your own device you still pay the same price as others with contract.

[Q] cancelling T-Mobile after 30 days & pay etf - classic plan

Hi all,
I signed up yesterday for T-Mobile at Costco. I got a family plan with a galaxy s3(.01) and s4(150). I wanted to cancel on day 31 and pay the etf for both phones (400 + tax, I believe). Right after that I wanted to sign up month to month with their new plans. Does this plan sound feasible and had anyone tried this in the past?
Unless they lowered it, I thought T-Mobile ETFs were $350 per line.

Far as I knew Classic plans were eliminated months ago for new customers.

Sprint Unlimited For Life

So Sprint has a banner on their website that if you sign up now you are guaranteed unlimited talk, text and data for life. So I guess that means the unlimited plans are going away soon.
Probably.... Sadly the new plans are more expensive than what I have now... And if you have a corporate discount, they will only discount the data portion on the new plans.
Now with soft bank on the their side line they can do or undo.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Does this mean all original Sprint Customers are set for unlimited for life too?
Well i have the simply everything for 99.99 + the 10 dollar premium
Total 109.99
The New MY ALL-IN sm PLAN
110.00 and you get 5gb hot spot I don't think I have that in my plan
The question is if the 10 dollar premium data still exist? With this new plan.
If it is just 110 without the 10 dollar premium data add on its a good deal since you get the 5GB Hotspot included.
Update
After going to sprint not signed in ,I selected a phone and the My all IN sm plan and the 10 dollar Premium data is gone.
Well its not gone they just added it to the plan.
So for 1 penny more you get the 5gb hotspot ..sweet
If you don't want the hotspot it costs 50 dollars for unlimited talk and text and 30 for unlimited data. So it is cheaper than simply everything.

My sister has 3 phones and has 1500 shared and unlimited for 180ish with discount.
Can she stay the same or does she have to upgrade to this new plan?
Which is 120 talk for 3 phones + 90 data for 3 phones I guess they took the minute plans away.
And how does the discount work? I see it varies upon how u use the data please correct me
Please advise Traybent
First phone 50$ Unlim Voice/Text 30$ Unlim Data = 80$
2nd. phone 40$ Unlim Voice/Text 30$ Unlim Data = 70$
3rd. phone 30$ Unlim Voice /Text 30$ Unlim Data = 60$
Each additional phone up to 10 lines = 20$ Unlim Voice/Text 30$ Unlim Data = 50$.
This plan layout does not include the 5gb Hotspot but its cheaper then the unlimited everything plans. Also you can replace the 30$ Data package with 20$ 1gb data package. If its not a smart phone its 20$ for unlimited data or 0$ with no data.
The unlimited data plans for sprint arnt going anywhere, these plans are being offered because of Softbank wanting to put more pressure on ATT / Verizon for cheaper service plans and guaranteeing unlimited data for the life of your line.

Yeah... But it's not as cheap as the everything plus family 1600. I've got three lines on that plan and I pay approx $180.
I guess if you don't get on the new plans, they probably will kick me off the unlimited data plan I have now.

They probably won't kick you off since they'll lose a customer. I think they'll do something like Verizon and ask to buy phone at full price to keep unlimited.

These plans are rip off if you already have sprint and are on a family plan.
As a broke college student, I use my unlimited data as my main personal internet at home (Rooted wifi tether).
If sprint were to cut that, I'd be screwed.
All I know is that if Sprint doesn't allow me to keep unlimited on my everything data plan I will be switching. I have been testing tmobile here where I live and they beat Sprint in speed every time. And inside a building I still get signal with tmobile compared to Sprint where I would have to force roam to be able to use the data.

Data roaming limit 100mb; talk roaming limit 800 min.

From what I read and understood they will guarantee unlimited data but not guarantee the price. So you can use all you want but we may change this plan to $xxx in the future.
