It is based on latest CyanogenMod sources, this kernel is my kernel configuration (which will come later). No further things will be introduced unless in my daily use I will need something else.
if you want to see a comparison (benchmark) between the most famous I/O schedulers on a SSD click here
I like minimalistic things, testing everything and I/O algorithms.
Anarchy kernel is really great and there is no need to do a mere copy or having a similar configuration of his work.
A passional Italian heart for your Galaxy Nexus
So far I'm testing a new I/O scheduler, I called it real noop (it's based on noop). check 2nd post for infos.
this kernel is a test kernel build, it's cyano kernel + experimental I/O scheduler. nothing more.
My personal kernel (with some features such as BLX and fsync control) will come later as I said.
INK-09_23
FLASH THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKED DEVICES

Credits: thanks to steve.garon first
Ezekeel for his awesome work
terryhau
CyanogenMod
supercurio
ariava (dev of BFQ)
Paolo (dev of BFQ)
Nux
Proscia A. for his geekness
Goo.inside.me for hosting
Google
Linaro for his toolchain

**NOTE ===>> Let me explain how features works:
iBFQ
It suites better for your personal use. Are you gaming? Great ---> best performance for heavy apps, do you have gnex in standby without a lot of processes in background? OK ---> less CPU cycles wasted so better battery life.
It's far better from all the other I/O schedulers
real noop (rnoop)
a new I/O scheduler aimed to do nothing! LOL
it's noop without merging and sorting, it passes everything to the device driver "as is".
it should be heaven for flash devices, it needs testing to see if it's true

1.support for PGM app
2.what governor you have deleted\what remain
3.liveOC is present?if yes,for all the components(mpu\iva\core)?and the AUDIO BOOST?
sorry but i don't want to change kernel only to try.thanks
EDIT i read no PGM support...mmm ok,thanks,i'll go on then!anyways thanks for the work mate!^__^

AHAH! yeah,i think he was referring to PGM too!IMHO i think it's a must now in gnex's kernels, like sound boost or fast charge!
if you'll see in that..thanks a lot, many users i think they find it usefull, slide to screen on and without deep-sleep entering problems (like touchwake or similar features)
keep the good work, will follow the 3ad closely!cheers!

Is gpu @ stock clock ? I m running some games like "where is my perry" and "gnar bike trial" and after a little i get some annoying lag.. is linked to memory manage, pheraps ??
I don't know if it happens with stock kernel too.. i never ever running stock kernel ! The most genuine is a linaro build! Wait! Have you planned also a Linaro version build ?!

this build (and those will come) are already linaro optimized (I specified it better in the OP and in the title)
I think I have the stock clock for GPU
about smoothness please simply try it, i have the opinion that OC is worse than high tweaked and optimized kernel at stock clocks

hey kids, please stop writing italian, this is an english forum. thanks!

[KERNEL] [26 APR] v1.7.2 and GamerEdition RcrdBrt's INK kernel

With permission, this is RcrdBrt's kernel on the Nexus S threads. He said that someone can post his kernel here, and IMO it's awesome, so here it is:
INK Kernel
Italian Nexus Kernel
It is based on latest 4.0.4 source and for now I added:
-Deep Idle
-SLQB memory allocator
-Voodoo Sound (colors+sound)
-BLX
-BLN
-BLD (I really like it)
-lazy governor
-undervolt INT voltages by default (as I learned from bedalus graphs, INT uv is more efficient and it gives us a bit of more battery).
-SIO tweaked scheduler
-optimized CRC32 algorithm
-optimized some other code and compiler flags
-many many under-the-hood tweaks by the boss Ezekeel
I merged in it Steve Garon's tweaks branch and Ezekeel's hiddenpart branch and I had a boost in performances.
I unchecked in the config the TV tuners modules, some debug options and unnecessary govs to have a lighter and more powerful kernel.
it's not gonna be an all in one kernel, I let join the project only the features that I think they are good (suggestions however are well accepted).
My default settings are:
Ondemand 100/1000
SIO
FIND ALL DOWLOAD LINKS HERE
New kernel sources: https://[email protected]/RcrdBrt/INK.git (sorry if there are mistakes with commits, I don't know well how they works. Still learning)
Credits: big thanks to steve.garon for his tweaks and because he helped me with sources
Ezekeel for hiddenpart branch and his mods
terryhau
supercurio
Proscia A. for his geekness
Google
Changelog:
GamerEdition -----> do not expect battery life from this, it's a special verison meant to gamers, 72 Hz screen and tweaked lazy governor (default gov)
v 1.6.1 ---------> for 9020 users ---> fixed wifi issue caused by the toolchain added code tweaks (high smoothness) and optimizations retweaked SIO. I compiled this with arm-linux-androideabi to test it (instead of arm-eabi of 9023 version)
This can be considered the dev branch
v 1.5 ------- Optimized compiler flags, tweaked SIO, new sources (again and again lol), removed wimax and voodoo colors to have a highly optimized version for i9023 and added custom voltages, removed other debug options, merged some new Ezekeel tweaks
Pixel Edition --------- added bigmem and tun.ko, merged again with steve garon tweaks for under-the-hood insane performances
v 1.4 ------fixed the fix to the voodoo colors
v1.3-------reverted back to stock branch and readded all the tweaks to prevent mistakes I've done , added SIO as default scheduler, fixed Voodoo, added FASTCHARGE patch, raised the INT voltages (but still undervolted) added deep idle
v1.2 skipped version
v1.1--------removed wheatley and bfq. made SIO scheduler as default. fixed voodoo colors and a bit of fixes for the laggy thing. Added bigmem and deep idle
v1.0---------inital release
Thank you for posting this Joe .

Interested to see what everyone's experience is with this. No luck here.

No luck here either. I tried to flash this kernel and it wouldn't even get past the boot screen. Just a big ol' bootloop..
4g works why wouldnt it?
Try it with a Fresh install of Codename 2.0.
My phone hates UV and its working great here for me, not one reboot. Make sure your phone isnt overclocked already when installing too.

Under changelog you said you removed WiMax. That may be why people are assuming no 4g...
Well Joe you must have the magic recipe. I tried to flash this on three fresh installs. AOKP, Euroskank, and Slim. No dice. But can't say I wasn't persistent. Can anyone confirm this working other than Joe?

working here with pool party. 5 no 4g in my area, so I can't comment on that. wiped cache & dalvic, flashed & booted fine. been running for a few hrs now.

What, does this only work with certain roms? So far I've seen people posting it working with Pool Party, and Codename. I use AOKP so has anyone else got this kernel to work with AOKP? I've also tried on a fresh install (AOKP) and no dice either..

Been running this beast since last nite. Not a problem to be found! Colors are great and the battery life seems to be really good so far running @1500 mhz. Thanks for another masterpiece EB!!
No problem as usual, I would like one thing from everyone around here that undervolts... I need some good voltage settings that don't reboot... I would like to lower the voltages but I'm always to busy working on stuff to mess with the voltages to find the sweet spot... I want it to run, no reboots, and still maintain it's overall freq integrity... ANY HELP IN THIS AREA IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

UPDATE: New Kernel Link Up In The OP... Removed fsync due to a bricking issue...

[Kernel][5.1.x][TF300/201][GRIMLOCK KERNEL][APR 02 2015]

April 2 2015 - NEW VERSION 5.1! Ready for Lollipop 5.1!!!!!
Quick list of features:
Overclock up to 1.8GHZ
Voltage control
Custom GPU overclock
Dynamic Fsync Control
Interactive and ROW tweaks
I/O and MMC tweaks for better performance
Auto detects whether you are using data2sd, f2fs or EXT4 - meaning you don't need an f2fs version anymore. At boot time the kernel detects your file system and boots based on what YOU have. Also works with data2sd.
Extra governors and I/O Schedulers
Chanegelog
2015-04-02 - Version 5.1
- Updated the Wifi modules to work with CM12 and Omnirom
2014-10-01 - Version 5.0
- Updated to work with Lollipop.
2014-10-01 - Version 4.0
- Fixed the Bluetooth not turning on issue
- Fixed a few of the dock keys not working (such as disabling the touchpad)
- Added Pegasusq Governor
- Added SIO, VR and BFQ I/O Schedulers
- Made BFQ the default
- Created a separate build based on Linaro 4.8.3 Toolchains
2014-09-12 - Version 3.0
- I don't remember now LOL!
Everything should work fine, but this kernel has only been extensively tested on Omnirom and Zombi-Pop.
*NOTE - If you are running this kernel on Katkiss, Version 5.1 likely will not work. You will need 5.0 as 5.0 still uses the wifi modules that katkiss needs.
Also at the end of this post is an app called Performance Profiles. I would suggest anyone who uses this kernel on OMNIROM to install this app, as it will allow you to change the CPU frequency so you aren't always stuck at 1.7GHZ. In CM this feature can be added to the quick settings panel so it is not necessary. It will allow you to toggle between 1GHZ(power save) 1.3GHZ(normal mode) or 1.7GHZ(performance mode). I apologize for the hideous UI, but I'm not a app creater or designer. - NOTE - NOW OBSOLETE

I hope we can expect NTFS support in the future? Not tomorrow but someday?

Does someone know the answer at this question: what the ratio between overclock and battery drain? I mean, if I overclock to 1.7Ghz, what %% i will lost on battery? Stock, with a normal use, i'm charging at 2-3 days. Overclock to 1.7, what can I expect of battery life?

No one can answer that accurately, since battery life is solely dependant on individual usage/configuration/added battery savings tweaks or lack thereof/etc...

Questions & Answers
Q: How do I set or change the kernel settings?
A: Use an app like Trickster to control the kernel settings.
Q: Why do some developers use an install script to set the kernel features and others use a control app?
A: To each his own. I personally like the flexibility of a control app so I can change settings on the fly and monitor the cpu frequencies/temperature etc. in lieu of changing the script and rebooting each time.
Q: Will you add this feature?
A: Maybe if you provide me with a good reason and research backing up why it's good to add. I like to keep my kernels somewhat clean to maintain optimization on battery and performance without going overboard.
Okay might have to start from scratch. Tried simply to merge in latest changes that bring it up to cm12 and won't boot. So I'll change my tactic tomorrow and will have something soon. FYI - my cm11 version works, just borks data.

Looking forward to giving this a run !! I can test if you need someine
Thanks for giving this a shot. I'm looking forward most to fast charge, because although Santod's beta ROM is 99% greatness, it seems to cause the phone to charge glacially slow for some reason. I miss DT2W also but the slow charging is killing me.
Very excited to get this and santod's beta running. You guys are awesome!
Will you post links on how to install a kernel? That is one thing I've never done before... I don't think... >.>

Assuming your device is rooted, probably the easiest way is with an app called Flashify in the Play Store.
Will work on sprint?

DT2W is a MUST!!! Thank you for attempting the first kernel for Lollipop with these crucial features!!!!
Excited to see where this goes
OKAY - download links are live. Test it out, let me know what doesn't work. Seems wake gestures aren't working properly...

These are set up to flash in recovery the same way you do a ROM.

I will be more than happy to test!
Quick update...this seems better than the one I just posted. Links are redone.
Now that everything seems to be at least going okay...I will start by fixing the hiccups with the wake gestures and then add things back in. Camera seems messed up, but I had to revert a large commit by CM for camera....that caused bootloops...so I might have to hit @santod040 up for what he has in his build.

Maybe get a hold of the maker of the AGK kernel in the One Android Development thread. I'm running his AOSP kernel right now without issue.
Bootloop on Sprint kernel
Just curious if there was progress on this!! If it has the same features as the aosp 4.4.4 kernal then I'm stoked

Life's a little busy for me at the moment and with santod having released his, I figured progress on this is not crucial. I'm not abandoning it, just lie is taking prescience right now.

Clean Build
Anybody want to try a clean build? I am starting from scratch and my testers are MIA...lol. Just an FYI - nothing added for features, just need to know a base point. Should I test this on my own...yes...but I really don't have the time to flash stuff lately. But working on a build in the background while the wife uses the computer seems to be working out for me lol.
