[Q] Sprint - how much space left? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I've been looking through the Q & A forums for a while now, but since all carriers have been mashed together it is a lot harder to find what one needs. With that said, I know the answer I seek is here somewhere, but even search has failed me.
I am curious how much space is left over on the Sprint 16gb model after the first boot? I saw an AT&T screen show showing 12 gig or so.

12 gigs for the Sprint version too.

Hey,
I am with Rogers and have the same amount showing as well....

Thanks for the quick replies.

I think I they should really have more memory then listed to ensure you get that actual amount being sold, if you putting 16 gig in them but making 12 available, then install 20 gigs so you get the full 16 gig... my tab is same way it's a 32 gig but only 28 shows avail...

confirmed on my blue gs3 16 with sprint. 12gb free at stock. I guess only getting 3/4's isn't so bad...lol:laugh:

I agree with you completely.

Although that makes sense but that's just how it is. Just like if you bought a laptop the OS takes up some of the advertised hard drive cap.

10 gig for $50

I was messing around on the my Verizon app just now and I just upgraded from a 5 gig plan to a 10 gig plan for the same price. I was under the impression that it was only for 2 to 4 gig. Sweet!

They're offering double data for any tier at the same price.
Yep, it's nice marketing. You just need to make sure you don't get intoxicated with more data than you're willing to spend in a month.
I got the 4gb plan on the GNex launch day and have only done about 80MB per month... If you're on WI-FI everywhere like me then its a waste of money.
You would pay the same for 2gb, so its hardly a waste.
Unfortunately I spend about 40 hours a week behind the windshield of a car.

If you're in the best buy rewards program you'll get emails when they do these deals (typically less than an hour before it starts - but if it's something you were looking for it's well worth it)
needs moar memory....
jk do you guys put 1080P hour long multiple porn on yalls phones or something? Lol I think a 16- 32GB would suffice for most users. I recycle data in my storage devices a lot.

I was lucky to get one. It's not going to ship for a freaking month though.

32gb class10 or 64gb class 6?

32gb class 10 Samsung
Or
64gb class 6 SanDisk
Which is better/preferred for this phone?
Mainly using for music, photos, roms, gAmes and misc files

If 32gb is cheaper just get 2 of them. You can keep one in your wallet

Yeah I have the budget. And I don't want to carry two cards.
I'm just asking between the 2. Which is probably better?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Phones don't have a noticible difference between class 6 and class 10, I would say grab the 64GB card, now if you are going to want to use it for a thumbstick/usb later, you may want to look at spending the $60 for a class 10.

I mean it's pretty much dependent on how much storage you truly want. If you really think you'll fill up well over 33gb + the 16/32gb you have on your device, then of course go for the 64gb.
Besides, if you can wait a few weeks, you can pick up this Class 10 for $60....
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007WTAJTO?ie=UTF8&ref=aw_bottom_links&force-full-site=1
(choose Amazon on the far right hand side).
Also I think it really depends on what you are using it for...if it is load it up one time with music and play away and store personal, non-professional shot pictures you will likely be fine with the Class 6. If you plan on lots of video go for the fastest thing you can get.
In my case it will be heavily used for MP3's when I get it...so I will likely go with the 64 class 6 unless I find a really good deal ($50 or less) in the next couple weeks.
I am likely gonna roll with my carryover 16 for a few weeks until I get fully transitioned into using this thing.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Emperor using psycommu
Notice. Att and Verizon don't get the 48gb those companies oppted out of the promotion

then what, everything goes poof or you have to pay?
i've used Box in the past on my tablet. they give you several gigs of storage, but then they only allow you to upload a max file of like 90-100mb.. is there a limit with dropbox?

No limit to it as far as I know. Ive done files as big as 2gb at a time.
And for anyone on att/verizon who's lookin to get it Ive included an attachment. not my work but dont remember where i found it. will work on any phone. Unlink any accounts from dropbox prior to flashing. Worked back when I used it, Imagine it still does
Well I work for sprint and to get the 48gb you have to go to the website and do free space. you have to complete 5 out of 7 to get the 48gb then its only good for two year after the two years you still have the 50gb but can only upload and download up to 2gb . The 48gb will be there but can't do nothing with it . Its just free space .almost like dead weight . So as long as its not over 2gb you could download anything from that 48gb .. hope you understand .. for more info go to the website under q&a .. there's more answers .. have fun with the 50gb .

Just 50 I think. That's all I got when I switched anyway. There's another thread about this somewhere, but as far as I know no-one got 100 GB.
I m sure its just 50gb. Otherwise u can get unlimited space
I had both...got my first 50 on my s3...but when I got my note 2 I noticed they didnt increase so I signed out and let a friend sign in on my phone and so he got 50 gb too..and it worked

I had a tab 2, which came with 50 gb and now own a note 2. Got a total of 100 gb after signing in on both.
