[Q] Which Tar file? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hi All
I was on line trying to find out how update my Samsung Galaxy S3 from T-mobile
using Clockworkmod Recovery instead of messing with Odin. I came across to Tar files one was CF-root-SG3S-v6.3 to add the touch recovery to Clockworkmod. Then I cam across another one v5.8.4.tar which said it was the clockworkmod recovery for the touch S3.
So my question is which one would work or will niegther?
Thanks Kevin

[Q] Need help with flashing CWM

Ok so I am lost and need some help. I have a samsung galaxy s2 epic 4g touch.
It has kernel version EK02.
I used E4GTAUTO to root it and put the custom recovery.
I want to use the CWM5 recovery create backups and flash roms. I have tried Rom manager and Odin both with no luck. Both seem successful but when I try to boot into the new recovery it acts like it wants to start but then goes to an android guy with a small yellow triangle below him, when I press the menu button it shows the same old custom recovery that was put on at root.
Can someone please help me get the CWM5 recovery on this beautifully frustrating phone?
Thanks.
Wow not sure what to say. But if you haven't installed clockwork mod before you will need to use Odin qbking 77 has every step by step tutorial imaginable dont forget to search the forums before posting

Problem flashing CWM Recovery into Sprint GS2

I was able to use Odin1.81 to restore the stock ROM (2.3.4) with root to my S2. Everything was good. Then I wanted to flash CWM Recovery. I tried two methods:
1) Installed ROM Manager from Google Play. Install CWM Recovery from there. Device selected as 'Epic 4G Touch'. This didn't work after reboot. Instead of entering CWM Recovery, the device went to 'Android System Recovery 3e' menu. It seems that Android has some built-in protection system from being flashed.
2) Restored stock ROM again, then flashed CWM Recovery 5 from Odin1.81. Now I could enter CWM Recovery, but I noticed the power on logo changed from "Samsung Galaxy sII" to "Samsung Galaxy sII I9100". A yellow triangle with an exclamation symbol appeared in the center of the screen. This bothered me a lot.
Does anyone know what correct steps should I follow to root my Sprint S2+install CWM Recovery?
Thanks in advance.
For number one. NEVER use rom manager like they brick our phones.
Use sfhubs el29 one click.

Use sfhub's auto root utility or download and flash Agat's safe kernel + recovery (which can be done through ODIN).
Then use Triangle Away to remove the triangle.

OK as was mentioned DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER! Unless you want a pretty paperweight.
Use sfhub's one-click(s) to add stock+root. You can use either the EL29 for GB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101 or FF18 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229 for ICS.
Then use sfhub's Autoroot to add a CWM recovery [either Rogue for GB or Agat's for ICS] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342728
Find and follow the instructions. They are very detailed and precise.
I would also HIGHLY recommend doing a whole lot of reading. Read the stickies, read the OPs and the follow up posts too. A little time and patience will bring rewards. Haste and carelessness will surely kill your device.
Good luck.
Thank you, daniel4653, garwynn and leaderbuilder. You are all very helpful. I am going to try EL29 and Autoroot script.

[Q] Stuck in Boot Loop

I'm new to Android and tried to flash a customer ROM and am now stuck in a boot loop. Any help will be appreciated and I'll try to explain myself the best I can.
1. I have a Bell Note 2 and rooted with the CF auto root process
2. I upgraded SuperSU after the root reboot and installed the reboot checker. it said i was rooted.
3. I used titanium backup to backup candy crush
4. I installed ROM Manager and installed ClockWorkMod Recovery. My Note 2 wasn't supported, but I read that i could use the international version from the list so i did that. Everything said it was successful.
5. I downloaded the DN3 Rom from the forums here and transferred to my SD card.
6. I booted into CWM Recovery and did a backup from the options there.
7. Then I chose to install a customer rom and searched for the zip file on my microSD card.
8. The DN3 splash screen came up and took me through some install screens. I chose everything for the SGH-i317M options during the install.
9. it rebooted and loops between the samsung note II splash screen the CWM recovery 6.0.4.3 screen for a second and continues to loop between the two.
I can't get to the CWM recovery screen. if i try it just keeps looping. I'm sitting in the odin mode screen now and i think i need to install a stock rom. Can anyone point me in the right direction to at least get it working? then i'll need to see what i did wrong. thanks.
So i'm in odin mode and found a stock rom to reinstall. it gets to Modem, then fails so i'm not sure if i grabbed the wrong one. I believe i can install a rom through odin now that i can get to odin mode, is that right? but i can't really find any roms around to load cause all the ones i fond are zip files. Do i need to find an MD5/tar file? and where would i find them?
Try sammobile.com
Thanks for the reply. I tried that but the share for the firmware was no good. I ended up resolving it through Keis emergency firmware update.
