These look awesome...
The only thing I found with the metallic cases is that the NFC function is impaired as the NFC chip can't read through the metal cover... Pain in the arse really.... :crying:

Red Green would be proud. I just might have to do this as I need a gooseneck type mount for my car and I cannot find one like the one you got (ECdOc) in a gooseneck style.
Why not use epoxy or JB Weld? No tape to come loose and you can file it down and paint it to look factory.

It says plastic with chrome plated but I'd be concerned with it affecting cell signal, gps, and wifi like most metal doors in fact do.
I have it a week ago. No issues of sygnal and quite resistant to scratches. :good:

It does have 2 magnets in the corners of the flap but I haven't experienced any problems due to their presence. I've had the case for ~8 months and it does help usability if you use the Note as an e-reader or watch videos, though a minor hindrance if you take a lot of photos. The fit is very snug and secure though by now mine is starting to fray slightly at the bottom of the 'spine'.However this is with a lot of use. Overall an excellent case.

metal tab on the bottom - purpose?

The little metal tab on back, held down by a screw, next to phone cover what are the purpose of that?
Do i need it ?
This metal tab?

Yes that one!
From what I can tell from the teardown, looks like it holds the LCD/Mainboard in place. Could be wrong.

as far as I'm concerned, every LCD screws must be tightened as it also acts as a Grounded plane for it. tx
