Bluetooth 4 device - Galaxy S III Accessories

Hi guys,
S3 supports the latest bluetooth 4 and it has less battery consumption.
Just wonder if there is any good bluetooth 4 devices like headset, heart rate monitor, etc for our phone.
Thanks.

Not sure. As far as headphone, I think the best would be one that supports APT-X, though they are a bit more expensive. Supposed to provide better sound.

There are two watches coming out called the e-pebble and cookoo that work using bluetooth 4. The both had successful money raising campaigns on kickstarter.com. Both will retail for about $100 come this winter. Both watches will alert you to incoming messages and reminders. The cookoo uses an old school clock dial and leds for notifications, the pebble uses a e-ink screen.

How cheap? if your looking for stereo bluetooth, check out the creative WP-250, holy balls it sounds amazing with beats. I got it for 48 bucks shipped on Amazon, and the bass is the best I've seen on bluetooth stereo ear buds. Regularly priced at 69 bucks, and i would have paid that if i knew they sounded this good.
That still works with calls right?

Before my current set, I used some Motorola S9s. They were not as good as they advertised. The sound quality was ok, battery life was about 6 hours, and they were definitely not sweatproof, as they claimed. After about 3 or 4 weeks of workouts, they crapped out on me. After a particularly sweaty workout, the controls refused to work. I couldn't even get the power buttons working to turn them off. And I had lost my receipt so there went any exchange.
I ended up buying this pair by Rocketfish at Best Buy. So. Much. Better. The sound quality is fantastic, they are very comfortable, and the battery life is pretty much as advertised. All the music and phone controls are on the left earpiece, so I don't even have to unlock my phone to skip a track or raise the volume. And the microphone is excellent; sometimes the person on the other line thinks I hung up on them because of the lack of background noise coming from my end. These are not necessarily noted as being sweatproof, but I've had no problems whatsoever with sweat after nearly 3 months of use. However, as a precaution, I still wipe them down when I feel they may be getting too wet, and I bought a couple of these covers to make sure sweat doesn't get into the charging port.
Oh, and for $10 more, you get a no-questions-asked, 2-year replacement plan.

You can always go with a PS3 headset too. I have one now and its bass isn't the best but the battery life is over 8 hours (constant streaming) and I have had it for about a year now using it 3-4 times a week listening to audiobooks at work. Cost me $30 and goes with my PS3 too. And it does work with calls, buttons on it to answer/hold and volume buttons.
Bluetooth volume boost
I have a Samsung Captivate that runs on Firefly 3.0 froyo rom. The problem is that the audio of music and most importantly videos are not loud enough. Voodoo control plus does a great job of increasing the volume for wired headset. But I use bluetooth headset to listen to music and watch movies. I can hardly hear the audio in noisy environments.
Can someone suggest some app or fix or mod to increase volume in bluetooth headset?
I came to know that volume+ app for gingerbread does this job. Any similar app for froyo? or Voodoo control plus can actually help with BT headset volume boost?

blue tooth

Does anyone know and have used and a good blue tooth / headset. I want to get one that is both headset and blue tooth. I seen one at best buy for 70$ but don't know how good it is.

I have used Plantronics headsets for years. My current one is the Voyager Pro UC. It is the best one I have every had. I have purchased multiple Pro series headsets for my company and they have worked well. It has great noise cancellation and good battery life. It is a touch bulky but workings great. I use it daily, and I wear it for hours at a time.

Really like the Motorola Elite Flip
*superb* microphone and speaker quality, EQ, multiple phone support, and comes with different fittings for your ear
They made the HM7000 to compliment the T989.
The casing matches the battery cover.

I got one I am selling if you're interested.
I'm not quite sure what exactly you are looking for, but if you want a stereo Bluetooth headset for listening to music and fire making and receiving calls, I like the Motorola s305. I have had mine for two years and they work just fine with this phone. last I checked, they run about $40 from Amazon.

Glad I could help. One thing to be aware of: in my experience, some ROM/kernel combos have been problematic. With BeastMod 5.0 and synergy kernel, occasionally turning the headset off while music is playing locks up Bluetooth and requires a reboot to regain Bluetooth functionality. I had similar problems with revenge of macnut r1. Blue pulsar worked without a hitch. Eugene's CM7 R2 has been fine for the last two days.

Post your bluetooth accessories HERE

Hello,
I just wanted to start a thread about what types of bluetooth accessories Galaxy Note users such as myself use on a day to day basis. Bluetooth is an integral part of technology these days i just wanted to share what i have as of right now and what i plan to get in the future.
Currently, I have a Jawbone Era Silver Lining Bluetooth Headset and a Samsung HM5000 Bluetooth Pen Headset. I use my Jawbone Era whenever I'm driving, listening to music, and watching movies. I bought The HM5000 for those times when ear starts to feel sore from the Jawbone and the HM5000 just looks snazzy to use. (I'm currently trying to figure out a way to make a mold for a micro usb cap that can double as a capacitive stylus tip so i can use it as an actual pen, anybody knowledgeable in this pls let me know and thanks in advance)
I plan on purchasing the Sony Smartwatch and the Sony Wireless Headset Pro in the near future as soon as Sony gets off their butts and actually release the Wireless Headset Pro and not promise it will be released 30 days after CES.
Kindly share what ya'll got and what your opinions on the matter are for all those other bluetooth headsets out there.

I have a pair of Plantronics Backbeat 903+ headphones and love them. Great sound and great battery life.
Because they sit in your ear they can get a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours.
The only thing I don't like is that there is a lot of latency with them (I didn't realise BT headphones would have so much latency when I got them) which makes playing music apps or games where your need your screen input to be in sync with what you hear not really viable. I use wired headphones in those situations.
I have a Buffalo BT mouse which is good.
I'm awaiting delivery of the Rii Mini keyboard. Should be any day now...
Sony Wireless Keypad
Sony Wireless Keypad also works.
1. Jaybird Freedom headphones. Closest thing to sweatproof I have been able to find for my workouts.
2. Motorola S-10HD. Nice sound and comfort but can't take the sweat like they claim
3. Samsung HS2000 earpiece. Cheap, reliable and comfortable but that Samsung specific app for speaking emails and such is crap.
4. Zephyr HxM Heart rate monitor. I run and bike and this lets me record my heart rate and strides with Endomondo or Sportstracket
5. OBDPros OBDII adapter. I can use the Torque app to monitor and communicate with my car ECU.
6. Microsoft comfort 5000 keyboard. Love my ergo bluetooth keyboard.
7. Microsoft bluetooth mouse 3000. It works, nothing special.
8. Apple magic mouse. Love it.
9. Various bluetooth to serial adapters for engineering nerd stuff.

Among the bluetooth accessories I have the one that I like the most is the nokia stereo headset http://reviews.cnet.com/headsets/nokia-bh-103-headset/4505-13831_7-33707311.html
Why I like it ?
- It connects automatically when ever i turn it on
-Turns off automatically after i turn the bluetooth in my phone off. This saves battery. Hence saving a lot of battery.
It lasts more than a week after a week of charging on a regular use.
Even if i dont use it for a few weeks it preserves battery well.
Have not seen such good performance in any other bluetooth device.
I'm using this bluetooth keyboard by Ednet and it's working great (including touchpad) with Gingerbread and ICS:
http://www.ednet-gmbh.de/?lang=en&page=1&cat=10,20,4&artnr=86270
I'm especially liking its medium size, as there are many "mini keyboards" out there that are *really* mini... ;-)
There's a German review at Tom's Hardware:
http://www.tomshardware.de/Ednet-Bluetooth-Touchpad-Keyboard,testberichte-240861.html
I connect mine all the time when I'm driving with my car's Blue & Me system, a collaboration between FIAT and Microsoft, based on the Windows Mobile for Automotive platform.
Voice call functions work great, but have not tried the SMS reader feature yet. This is a feature where the car will have the option to read incoming SMS out loud through the car's speakers. It works with a VERY limited number of phones.

Does anybody know of a Bluetooth device where I can controll my music like the "s pebble"
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
The only bluetooth accessory I use on a daily basis is my MBW 150.
Love the thing. Bluetooth media controlling over AVRCP, vibrates on any notification I want it to, caller ID, shows who messaged and can read off the entire text if I want. AVRCP capability was the primary reason I got one, but I find it much much more useful than I initially thought I would.
I'll also add, hardly affects battery life on my Note. I never, ever turn bluetooth off.
The OLED screen is fading unfortunately, but the Pebble Watch is looking mighty promising so I'll be snatching one up as soon as it goes up for sale (missed getting a spot on Kickstarter).
7+ day battery life, e-Paper display, vibrates for notifications, media controls, and is totally customizable.
Looking right forward to it.

No complaints. If I had to come up with one, it's that the buds are a little different from all the extras I have lying around. My spares tend to be a bit too loose.
I didn't get any buds with hooks, huh. I haven't needed them and I cycle to work, walk around a lot, etc. It's light and stays in my ear.

I use use and love the Nokia BH 214. It's a clip, controls music like the pebble. It has a mic on it so if a call comes in the music is paused and you can answer and talk normally.
I have some moderate-sized headphones it handles well. It's rechargeable and holds charges for days.

Bluetooth Handsfree

Hi all
I am looking to buy a good bluetooth headset (not headphones).
Criteria
1. Volume and clarity
2. Battery
3. Reliability.
Suggestions pls.
Try sony ericsson mw 600 i really love it
sent from my lovely note....
The best headset I know (and use daily) is the Plantronics Voyager PRO HD:
+ clear receiving
+ very clear voice talking, especially impressive in windy conditions (use mine in a convertable and often people don't hear whether I have the hood down or not)
+ good battery
+ comfortable fit (I can use it while wearing glasses without problems for hours)
+ reliable connection
+ nice extras like automatically answering call when you put it on your ear and app for android
- not the most stylish
In current reviews most of the time either this one or the Jawbone Era is the winner.
I love my Jawbone Icon. 3h talktime, over a week of standby, <1h full charge, good noise suppression. The only issue I've found is sometimes when I walk out of bluetooth range in need to switch it off and on (or BT in my phone).
LG Tone HBS-700
Hi, i'm new here!
The Bluetooth that I bought is the LG Tone HBS-700, the best buy ever for me.

Always my phone is in silence, but the product have a vibrator
In my work five friends have it because they asked to me, and they are very satisfied.

Plantronics M50
Connect 2 devices simultaneously
Very comfortable
Small and discrete
Long Battery
Noise reduction (wind, background noise, etc...)
Listen to music
best bt headset i ever had
samsung hs3000 you can charge and use it at same time ,i think its the only one

Thank you all..
Forgot to mention that I drive around a lot, hence good noise+wind suppression is important.
I also wear prescription glasses - so it has to be something easy to wear yet something that anchors well. Needless to say fatigue free.
Can I get all this in an unobtrusive package (am in Sales)... or is it wishful thinking!

A2DP was a Bluetooth profile that became famous in the Bluetooth 2.0 era and stayed... Its what causes the back and for relay of stereo music and audio from the mic back and forth from headset to handset...
Generally almost all headsets which are all stereo bluetooth Bluetooth 2.0 and above will always have a2dp profiles... Just look in the product descriptions when your looking at a headset.
I'm still waiting on my N5 but I had last used a Sony MW600 on my Nexus4 and it was naturally a2dp and worked great...

A2DP works fine on the N5. I have connected it to a Sony MW600, Samsung HS3000, JBL Flip, and Kenwood KIV-BT901 (BT module for a Kenwood deck). Pairing was no problem and it sounds fine (it is wide bandwidth as far as bluetooth goes, but it won't sound as good as using the headphone jack of course).
Hey I heard somewhere that the N5 has a color screen. Can anybody confirm it has a color screen and what colors that screen can display? thanks.

Have you not tried using the N5 with your car stereo yet? If so, don't rule it out so fast. I've been very impressed with the N5 audio quality paired via bluetooth with my car's stereo. I'm quite picky about sound quality as well.
No cause I absolutely hate the way you browse on the radio with android that's why I use the head phones jack. The audio works via Bluetooth but I want my to control with my phone and not the radio because of that.

anyone know how well Bluetooth audio works with Bluetooth 4.0 devices? a lot of sites ive been too claim better battery life, and superior audio quality to 2.0. I am planning getting this and hacking it into my car stereo. contacted the seller and he claims its Bluetooth 4.0, so would audio be better than 2.0, and also would battery life for my nexus 5 be better than streaming to a Bluetooth 2.0 device?
forgot to add the link.....heh

No apt-x... So if streaming is really a big deal to you, this may not be the best phone.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you ever actually care about sound quality, do not use bluetooth. AptX or not, 2.0 or 4.0, doesn't matter, bluetooth on a good day sounds like a 96kbps MP3. This isn't just in regards to the Nexus 5, this is every bluetooth device ever. I've used Macbooks, iPads, several Android phones, several car stereos, headsets, and more. Never have I been terribly impressed.
Basically, if you want quality that is about as good as an FM transmitter, you're fine. It's great for calls and other voice functionality. But anyone with a discerning ear, stick with cables. Myself, I cringe every time I hear a song with any cymbals or high range instruments.

Bluetooth 4.0 will not give you better audio quality or improved battery life on devices which stream audio.
