[Q] Has anyone tried this case? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi I was wondering if anyone has tried this case? http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-AMZ94207-Hybrid-Kickstand-Samsung/dp/tech-data/B008B5DU44/ref=de_a_smtd
or these screen protectors http://www.ebay.com/itm/6X-EZ-HD-Cl...359914?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a7396b5aa
I think this case looks B-A, but just wanting a review?

That case looks good... and is cheap, too... but it's just TOO BIG. Besides, it's rubber... or so it seems. Rubber = hard to get in/out of the pocket .
As for the screen protectors... I've had a bad experience with cheap screen protectors. There are craps like those from CELLY and CELLULARLINE, which cost like $4 each or so, at least here... They do their job, alright, but they're not exactly ultra-mega-extra-super-hyper something as advertised : if you look at the screen at an angle, you will see rainbow colors like the screen protector has waves undeneath... Oh well...
MOMAX screen protectors are the best. At least that's the best I can get here, in Romania. But then again, you're in the mighty USA, where you find 100+ accessories for a phone that barely gets 3 in other parts of the world...

Where can I get a good screen protector?

Hi, my device is HTC Cingular 8525. I want to get a screen protector film. I do have one now pushed on my phone, but its too cheap as I can see scrathes I made on it after one week use. I want get a new better one that doesn't have such kind of problem. I already look a lot of products. ZAGG's InvisibleShield ones seem good but I don't think buying a film for 15 dollars when my phone only worth 100 dollars is a good idea. Also I found on Ebay some item ask 10$ including shippment, but I don't know whether they are good. Therefore I want to ask: Anyone here has any recommendation? (Website links, keywords, ebay seller name, all welcomed) I want a screen protector totally charges below $10 with a reasonable protection against scrathes (both screen and film itself should be okay with scrathes made by stylus pen in normal use)
Proporta. One word.
Excellent - except for very HighRes devices...as you see the grain there. However, generally, dont expect to get more than 3 to 6 months out of such a thing.
I've always liked ClearTouch Anti-Glare ($13) on my Hermes!
To me... this is the best one....

sounds a lot like InvizibleShield http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield I've had one on my touch pro and it survived everything i threw in my pocket. No scratches or marks on my screen. The full body skin was decent, corners started to come away after a few months use and i was about to send in for a replacement as they also have lifetime warranties when i got an upgrade to the touch pro 2
On ebay there are also numerous protectors to be found
try 3m vikuiti screen protectors
someone here said they were good:
http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=2759
and its 3M!
I have only Screen Protectors from Brando,a little bit more Expensive, but a lot Better!
I work as a Welder,so for me it´s important to have a Strong Surface because of all the Metal Dirt from my Work
Shield Skins are nice too,but i am from Germany so I couldn´t get the Shield Skins anywhere !

I like using screen protectors on my phone due to the fact it helps protect the LCD screen from dirt/dust and even if you dropped it screen first. Heads up don't get the mirror screen protector, they are hard to keep clean and it leaves your hand prints all over. I see it is that the above-linked screen protector is so cheap that it's worth a shot, and it means you don't have to worry about being too careful where you keep your Phone Touch. I'm definitely glad I have it. Just make sure that you take the time to affix it. Check this website: Uxsight.com
Hello
The "first generation" of screen protectors were made from very thin films based on the concept that an extra layer between the two surfaces (screen and stylus) would provide the needed protection to prolong the life of the device. These screen protectors came (and still come) in packs of 10 to 20 protectors and are hand-cut by the end consumer to fit the specific device. Such screen protectors, while offering extra protection, did not completely fill the need in the marketplace. They peeled up easily and they scratched almost as easily as the screens, causing the protector to be replaced often.
I have seen some good reviews of the ViewGuard Anti-Glare Matte Screen Protector online. What do you guys think?

screen protector

Ordered this screen protector( http://tinyurl.com/24pks3g) on Mon. Hope it comes today since that is when I will be getting this phone. Anybody ever use clearfreak screen protectors before? Any good? I hope it doesn't look orange peely like the zagg on my g1.
just got my clearfreak yesterday but won't have the phone until 7/23
it feels thinner & more flexible than the zagg , and the cutouts are correct for the vibrant where the zagg has the cutouts for the i9000

Thanks for sharing the coupon! I just ordered one. It will probably get here before the phone does
Thanks, I'll be ordering one as well .
I'm thinking of picking one of these up.
I've used a Zagg on my G1 which was nice at first, but became real ugly after a while. I eventually removed it because it looked really gross on the edges.
How does this compare? I plan on only getting the screen cover, don't need the back covered.
Why is it cheaper on ebay? It appears to be the official clearfreak ebay account, but their prices are much better (even with coupon) than their website offers. What gives?
Any reason not to put this on my phone? What I liked about the Zagg was that I could just wipe it down once with my shirt and all the smudges were gone instantly. I also liked the smoother surface for gliding my finger. It seems without the Zagg my G1 screen had too much friction.
I've used lots of different brands of screen protectors and found the Invisible Shield to be my least favorite. They are a good product, I just don't like the texture of them - it's a personal preference.
I'm considering not using a protector on this phone, though. I always used a screen protector in the past, even on my clamshell phones, but the durability videos floating around are pretty impressive. Not sure if it's technically Gorilla Glass, but whatever they use, it seems pretty damned tough.
For those of you with a unit in-hand, how durable does that glass seem?

I got mine yesterday but I am not quite ready to test the durability. Maybe a braver soul can help though.
BTW I am in for one from Clearfreak from eBay.
Also I don't recommend buying the T-Mobile screen protector, it doesn't cover the whole front, which on this phone is just weird.
I'm not sure about durability as I'm not willing to do any crazy test, but it's going to be hard going with a screen protector b/c the screen is just so nice to use.
That glass really does a nice job with fingerprints. Obviously they're still there, but the glass seems to reduce the effect and they aren't noticeable at all when you're using the phone.
I hear that most screen protectors make fingerprints more noticeable and aren't nearly as smooth.
yet but no matter how hard the glass, it will show degradation from windborne sand, grit etc, or grit/sand in your pocket, salt on your fingers etc
i've got watches with hardened sapphire crystals that i have to polish occasionlly with diamond grinding compound (same stuff used on optical lenses) cause the surface shows microscopic pitting, scratches etc
I've only every used clarivue protectors in the past. I liked them and I will probably post from them when available. Not sure how it will work with swype though.

hey when you get your clearfreaks on your vibrants, can you post how you feel about them. Im lookin for a protector for the captivate and am nitpicky about image quality and touch sensitivity.
I bought the T-Mobile screen protector and I'm not happy at all. It gives the screen a grainy look. I just ordered the Clearfreak one. Its $5.99 on Ebay sold by them.

I second this. I removed mine immediately! It turns an amazing display into an average one. Looking forward to the clearfreak reports.
From looking at the eBay pic the ClearFreak doesn't have cutouts for the front facing camera. I checked the Zagg site and their's does.

There isn't a Front Facing camera for the Vibrant. The one on Zagg is a cutout for the i9000.
Ok I just installed the clearfreak screen protector, followed the directions on their video and and it came out alright I guess, not perfect though. I'm sure it will take some time too set in , but I can see some fingerprints even though I had them wet the whole time. hopefully it improves. When the phone is lit up you can't see any of the flaws and swiping through screens is flawless and very responsive.
I have include two pics, mind you these were take within 30 min. of installing it.

Update: After a few hours it has settled in quite nicely. The finger prints that I thought were there initially are now gone and is super smooth almost too where I forget its even there. Good buy!
the martin fields video had a nice tip for handling the screen protector without getting fignerprints on the sticky side
check the video on their website, but it was a simple idea - using two pcs of scotch tape on either side with half of of the tape not on the protector - gives the user a small "handle" area to use to hold the screen while trying to position it correctly on the phone
just a suggestion

I go to walmart get 3-4 sheets for about 8.00 and cut them to size, they work great.

case for the white gs2

I still didn't decided about the case, not even the screen protector, and I find it more difficult because most of you have the black phone and I can't tell how the case would look like on a white one. Should I go only for white? Was going for a ultra protective case but on second thought a solution would be a normal case not so thin like barely there and not so thick, medium for indoor use and for going out the flip style because it protects the screen better. But then again, you have more combinations available because black goes well with any other colour. Please gs2 white users post some pics and recommendations.

I bought this case for my GS2. It fits very nice, but the downside is that id adds a bit of thickness everywhere.. but i like it that way because the phone is much more comfortable to handle. Also I've ordered this screen protector from ebay. A friend of mine uses it on his iPhone 4 and it looks very nice (the protector, not the phone )
Thanks, that case looks OK, is a noname from hk? Gel or tpu? It offers some protection, link please. The screen protector is really cheap, so you didn't received it yet?

The case is from gel, but it's some kind of a hard gel and it offers a very good protection and gives you a good grip when holding the phone. It is a noname. I bought from a local store here in Bulgaria, so I'm sure that you'll be able to find similar in your country. The screen protectors haven't arrived yet because the shipping time to Bulgaria from anywhere is between 15-25 business days, and I ordered it a week ago.

the case is good looking~
I have a black sgs2, BUT I can tell you one thing:
I really reccomend you buy a TPU case as it's very good (at least the one that I got) and protects the phone great.
I've bought this Case Mate 3 months ago. It was very nice, totally clear. It protects the chrome edge all around. You could put the phone screen face down on a flat surface. The screen would not been harmed in any way.
But after a few weeks the case was getting discolored. It's blue on the corners because of my jeans pocket. And the whole case is a little yellowish.

I'm using a black rubber case from Momax on a white GS2. I think the contrast adds a nice touch. The fit is slightly tight because I am using the official 2000 mah Samsung battery, but it looks very natural. Will post pics when I get home tonight!
what case did you end up with?

Screen Protectors that fit?

I guess I have bad luck. Im looking for screen protectors that actually fit the entire dimensions of our HTC one's. Tried 3 diff brands on Amazon all have clear clarity but none of them fit. They always have gaps between the phone and screen. Im not really a fan of the wet screens guards, i.e (armorshield, zagg, skinomi). Any suggestions..

I bought a cheap pack of 2 at a local accessory store, when I get home I will check the brand, as the fit is almost perfect (there is maybe a 3/4-1 mm gap at the bottom) and it has held up for me pretty well so far.

Have you tried the original HTC ones (SP P910)?
I've bought them on eBay for about 5eur,a pack of two.
They didn't arrive yet, but I've bought from the same user for my Incredible S and they were original and good fit.

I bought this Tech Armor 3 pack on Amazon. I messed up the first one like always but the second one went on perfectly. For the first day or two it was rather sticky feeling but after a bit of break in time/use it feels just like the stock glass screen. I've been using it for about a month and there's been no peeling, bubbling, or scratches. It's basically edge to edge coverage. There's maybe a 1 mm gap at the bottom of my phone with the top flush so you could split the difference and have almost no gap all the way around.
For $6 shipped they're a good deal. I don't notice these at all and I'm not a fan of screen protectors in general. Since I haven't found a case I like for The One at all and I wanted protection for putting my phone face down when I'm at work these fit the bill for cheap. I just ordered a DevilCase bumper and back cover and I'll likely continue to use these covers even if I like the bumper combo.

I think I'm going to try the glass ones. I just hope they don't mess with the touch sensitivity etc.
I use a mime ghost on my one and there is no negative effect whatsoever.

Spigen, Spigen, Spigen. Spigen all the way! The best clarity and perfect fit for my htc one (and all other phones for that matter)
I purchased a Nillkin red hard cover for my One, solely to add grip after a few slips, which come with a Nillkin screen protector that I decided to try. Applied really easy and has an excellent fit and the feel aint too bad. I'm not a fan of screen protectors generally but decided to try this one and it's perfectly fine.
Once you go glass, you never go back

Hey everyone, I like most of you have probably been looking all over for that perfect glass screen protector that makes full contact. You have probably read all the comments in the screen protector thread and got no solid answers. Well lucky for you I got the answer.

I am in no way affiliated with this company. I was just frustrated with finding crappy screen protectors for this phone and am now just happy to find something that works. I want to share it with everyone so you can have awesome protection for your phones. I'm using it right now and it feels like the real phone screen. Can't even notice the protector is on.
Can you share pics of yours installed? It's like 28$ with shipping.. A little bit pricey
Here is the images.
https://imgur.com/a/TyWkK
Nothing much to say other than it has two bubbles on mine due to dust particles. Colour is not 100% exact like body due to them not being able to reproduce the Sony colours. Unfortunately it does cover the Sony logo. But no deal breaker for me. For a measly $28 to protect your ~$600 investment for at least 2 years, not a big ask. I'm sure you have spent a crap load of money on other stuff just for ****s and giggles.
does any of the viewable screen get cut off ?
Very slight cut off at each side. But I've only noticed when you mentioned it. It has not affected the way I use the phone. I think it looks like a fraction of a millimetre.
Found a similar on Amazon, and is cheaper

Have you used it? Does it make full contact? I heard that it has some weird dots on the protector screen when looked at carefully and at certain angles.
The one I use doesn't have any of that dotted thing.
Up to you really. Your money. I'm just telling people what I know from what I currently am using.
