Moshi iVisor Screen Protector Warning - Galaxy S III Accessories

Hey Everyone!
From day one I had installed a Moshi iVisor screen protector from ATT. While it went on easy with no bubbles I am warning you not to use it. ATT installed it for me and today when I took it off I had some small scratches in the glass. My bet is some dust got inside and never found its way out. It is a static cling screen protector. So if you have it make sure its always clean. I ony had it on for about a week or so.
Again this is just what I saw and like anything...it could have been my fault for letting ATT do it!
So today I installed a ZAGG shield. In hopes I no longer scratch my screen.

So your theory is that people shouldn't use this protector because it allowed a scratch to get through it, onto the screen? :good:

scratches through screen protector.. reccomend me a new one !

Bought the steinheil flex, 2 screen protectors.
noticed this white 'hair' line... eventually ending up peeling it off and its a scratch! can feel it with my finger and everything... matches up perfectly to a white line on the screen protector too...
Ridic! £15. 2 weeks of waiting. 3 days of use. 1 unhappy customer. *angry*
What do you guys reccomend I get now? Going to leave this one on for the moment, but not permanently since it did this..
Btw this is the most ive ever spent on a phone. Its always been in a pocket to itself, im always making sure its not near anything that could scratch it (even since the protector has been put on) and... idgi how i got one. lol
To my surprise I can recommend the Verizon clear screen protectors (NOT the matte, anti glare ones = awful).
They do leave a little gap all around, but they are smooth, easy to apply and look decent and most of all I feel they protect my screen!
Had a scare yesterday. I fumbled my phone and it slid out of my hand face down onto a very sharp edge on the slide for my keyboard pullout.
My heart stopped for a sec before turning it around and indeed a pretty ugly gash on the screen and a second minor one. Felt it with my fingernail, hoping it was just the screen protector, but dang it felt deeeep.
Mustered up the courage to rip off the screen protector and hallelujah: perfect screen.
The screen protector was pretty banged up, but not even cut all the way through.
Applied a new one right away and my Nexus looks like new.
I did order an XO skin as well, but it has been sitting in its box unopened since last year!
I have an XO Skin, and I totally recommend one!
XO skins are known to "hide" the surface scratches. Give that a go and see what happens.
However, you might not favour the rubbery feeling of the XO
Zagg screen protector! Will not scratch will not give you the glare of the plastic screen protector best I've ever used I buy them for every touch screen I have and it has lifetime warranty if it rips scratches anything the will replace it
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I just got the xtream gaurdz full body screen protector after my old screen protector started coming off, its a wet application but it only took about 3 hours before I could use it again and it does not have any orange peel at all the best part was that it was only $5 on eBay and free shipping, I will say though that if you are comftorable with taking your phone apart its much easier to apply on the screen and housing seperatly

^^ Agree, Zagg is great!!
I have an ishieldz on. It's pretty invisible, and don't mind the feel, but noticed that it dulls the screen a little when I had it side-by-side with a naked nexus.
Am thinking about pulling it off and taking my chances.
I've had a Flex on my GN and I like the feel and fit. With what and how hard do you have to slice the screen for it to go thru the protector?
XO Skin FTW

XtremeGuard screen protector

Hello,
I've got today my XtremeGuard screen protectors and I've got a question...
The appliation of the protectors are wet-apply and it requires to take-off battery or either wait for a long time when its off.
Since I dont have 24 hours , was wondering if it would be fine applying the protector 2 hours before going to sleep, letting it be applied for about 10 hours total and then turn the phone on again..
Did anyone apply such a protector to the HTC One already?
Just saw a 85% off coupon for this screen protector, so I got the full body kit for only $1.50 with free shipping
Curious to see how well it works. Does the protector feel good or is sticky-ish feeling? In regards to your question, you'll be fine.

I'd take the instructions with a grain of salt, so to speak.. mine I did turn off for the duration of the operation, a good 5 mins, then turned it back on, no problem. However, try to not abuse the liquid and in any case wipe it dry allover.
Sent from a pizza..
I had used a xtremeguard on a Butterfly, also wet applying. However I hated the protector because the film was very sticky.... The film I use on my One is from nillkin, I think it's just a common cheap protector, and feels much more natural.
I applied one of these protectors and love it. I used some tape to cover the speaker holes during the installation and was careful with the amount of the water and soap solution used to apply it. Kept my phone off for a few minutes, dried it off then removed the tape. It was extremely easy and I had zero issues. Purchased a few of these with the 85% off discount and am extremely satisfied. Much better than Zagg or taking it to a Ghost Armor cart which is such a rip off! Follow the instructions, use some tape and you will be just fine.
I've installed 2 of these, one on my one and another on my galaxy nexus. Both i used within 3 minutes of installing the protector without problems. It will seam a little sticky at first but it goes away after a while.
I have installed literally dozens of XtremeGuards or other wet application protectors, and i dont even turn my phone off anymore. if you dont get any water in the speaker grills you will b fine.
Does your xtremeguard protector fits the whole screen? i received one that is smaller than the One screen.
I just installed an XtremeGuard on my HTC One which I picked up as a temporary protection during the sale.
I do not know how people can standing using these things on their phone.. it feels like you're trying to slide your finger along the sticky side of scotch tape.
I used a DBA just like glass screen protector on my previous phone and I now have a new appreciation of how smooth it was.
I've ordered a glass screen protector (my first ever, so I hope I don't mess up the application) which will arrive in a week or two.

zagg glass screen protector

I just got a zagg glass screen protector put on at Verizon today. I like it. It's got adhesive only around the edges so I think it leaves a bit of air under the glass? But I haven't had any touch issues. It works really well.
I had a Spigen neoflex one before that cost about 4 bucks per protector on Amazon ( orange peel wet app) and they were only ok for that type of screen protector.
One thing to note is, I'm not sure if the Verizon rep that put it on the phone for me cleaned the screen well enough because there seems to be a small grease bubble right on the keyboard. It doesn't bother me much because it didn't affect anything yet, but might get in the way while watching videos.
Oh this thing was 37.50 after my discount. But if it breaks zagg replaces it for as long as I own this phone. So that's good.
Nice, ZAGG warranty is top notch.
I got mine today also. My nerves kicked in as I purchased it because what I read about curve screen tempered glass protectors. I like it so far and no case problems. Feels alittle loose or sense of some gap from glass to phone but you get used to it. So far nice!
It collects dust around the edges and it definitely has one piece of dust under it which I'm hesitant to use the adhesive dust stickers to remove because it's curve glass
But, nothing that isn't normal for pretty much all screen protectors. Worth the protection, and warranty
I purchased this also a week ago when I got my 8+. I was worried about it after all the ones I tried on my S7 that failed. However this one is nice, been on a week with no issues of lifting off. Works well with the Tech 21 case I got also.
Guy at my local spark store just put one on for me. No problems with touch sensitivity so far. We shall see how it holds up over time.
Any updates on this screen protector?

Bottom corner started lifting after a day. Now I have a bunch of dust and some hair trapped under there. Glue is too weak. Don't waste your money.
Yea the glue is kind of weak and it's prone to dust buildup....
However because of this I found it's easily removable by sliding your fingernail under one long end and then just lift it. I kept the easy applicator and so I can (carefully) clean it under soapy water and dry it.
Don't bother to dry with any type of paper towel though as the lint will stick to the adhesive.
Probably going to reach out to zagg about a warranty or some kind of solution so I don't have to keep removing and cleaning it. But overall better than other screen protectors so far
Also another detail, this protector has no problem with the spigen neo hybrid
Well I got the Zagg screen protector also on the day I got my S8+. I have had the phone almost 3 weeks now. I had the phone less than a week before I had issues with the screen protector. I use Samsung's fast wireless charging stand to charge my phone overnight while I am asleep. I woke up and found that the screen protector completely came off of my phone overnight. I know that Zagg has an excellent warranty etc but what should I do? What I'm trying to avoid is a long line of replacements at $5 shipping per replacement for the same thing to keep going on. I watched the rep in the store thoroughly clean my phone and did an excellent job of applying it for it to have been anything that he did wrong. Any suggestions??? Is this an ongoing issue?

Just a little update on this, I have had to take the Glass Curve Protector off 3 times so far to get dust out from between it and the phone screen and due to that I have a replacement coming. It does come off and go back on nicely, still sticks good but has dust particles again. Also the glue around the edges is looking awful dusty and ugly. I am getting the Zagg Sapphire Defense Curve as the replacement and going to give it a try.
Yes update . Ok sorta bad news . About two weeks ( had it on for a month ) I dropped my phone and screen protector popped off. No damage but did get little dirty . Pushed it back on .Stayed on pretty good ... Until last night . Dropped my phone on the ground again in the dark,no damage again . Woke up,at work and realized my screen protector was gone. Who knows where it is right now (on the floor by my bed ) but I'm buying a different protector after work . Not tempared !

Huawei installed screenn protector...

I just got my Mate 20X and love it (thanks FunkyHuawei!). I am waiting on accessories to arrive from China. While I wait, I am using the Huawei installed screen protector. It is funny, the first few days I used this with the plastic film on the front while waiting for the screen protectors to arrive but last night when I removed that film to install the temp glass protector I got I noticed it seems to have a protector already installed. FunkyHuawei said Huawei installed that.
Does anyone know, is this Huawei installed protector any good? Should I just use it until it shows wear and then replace it or maybe replace it now? It looks good, seems to cover well and no other issues I can discern.

Huawei put covers on there phones i find them pretty good I'll buy new when this gets used
Just changed the OEM one off my M10P before I gave it to my nephew. The original lasted about 6 months for me.
Are the ones they use temp glass or film, hard to tell without picking at it?
Do they still have zero oleophobic coating underneath the factory screen protector like on the P10 and some of their other phones or did they stop doing that?

Film on oem. To me the tempered glass one's feel better once you change but I had to turn on gloves mode after that.
I noticed it to and was wondering how it got on there. Thought the dealer might have put it on.
Lol it seems this phone has two screen protectors on first one can be pulled off but there is a second that is very hard to see but its there. I was quite surprised as you can hardly notice its there unless you pick at it from the corner.
I don't use screen protectors on my phones. Any harm or benefit if I remove the factory installed one from Huawei? Screen angles better? Responsiveness better?
I never took the Screen cover off mine when I got it, I peeled the white remove tab off the screen cover, and it will stay that way until the plastic wears out or peels off.
Only took mine off for tempered glass. Otherwise they're very good
I received my phone and am puzzled by the screen protector. I detect a rising at the corners, so I thought it had a protector or film, but when I tried to take it off, it didn't want to come, so I thought it might be part of the screen.
Then I noticed that there was some distortion on the screen. While playing with it, I ran a fingernail over it, and created another mark in the screen. I was freaked out, but apparently it's a really well put on screen protector? I'm happy to leave it on, but does anybody know how to buff any slight creases out of it?

That's a film screen protector. I remove it from the very first second and i install the Tempered Glass One.
VERY FUNNY. I put a glass screen protector on top of the factory film protector, which I did not notice until many days after. I only knew that is a removable film until I read this thread. The double screen protectors apparently worked fine for me, and now I feel super strong.

Included screen protector poor adhesion at edges?

Hey guys, got my phone yesterday and promptly installed the screen protector. I got everything ready and then unwrapped the phone, pealed the plastic off the screen, grabbed a few pieces of dust with a piece of tape, and tossed on the included glass screen protector before even turning on the phone. My installation went as perfectly as ever, but the screen protector refuses to adhere at the edges. I even tried putting clamps on the edges (hey it's worked for me in the past), but nothing helped. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or if I got a bum screen protector.
mines is the same way
Thanks for letting me know. I got sick of it and threw it out and just put on a cheap plastic one that I ordered on ebay for now.
Mine worked flawlessly. In fact I forget it is even on.
I did press hard on the edges when I installed it, but that was it.
