FAQ
Q: App x isn't working, keeps Force Closing, is acting strangely, etc... what should I do?
A: Some apps haven't been fully updated to support Jelly Bean and you may run into some apps that don't work 100% or at all, if that's the case you can try:
Go to Settings->Apps, select the All Tab, find the app, select it and hit the clear data button that appears on the App info screen.
If it's something you installed from Google Play or restored via Titanium Backup, uninstall it, download it from the Play Store and don't restore any data.
If you dirty flashed from another 4.1/4.1.1 based rom you can try a full wipe.
If it's a system app and you are on a fresh install, feel free to let me know and I'll see if I can figure it out for you.
Q: Can you implement feature x?
A: There are still a few features I'd love to have and I'd be willing to entertain the possibility of adding user suggestions, but keep the following in mind, until I get my AOSP version working properly I'm working with a pre-compiled OTA which means any features require editing smali which is essentially the same as removing one's eyeballs with a rusty melon baller, so I make no promises.
Q: Could you put in Superuser instead of SuperSU?
A: I have read conflicting reports about the compatibility of Superuser and SuperSU as it relates to Jelly Bean, I packaged SuperSU because Bigxie did and I knew it worked at the time, if you would prefer to try Superuser you can get the package (for ARM) here: http://androidsu.com/superuser/ and flash it via CWM, I just tried it with no unusual effects, but your results may vary.
Important Note: The answer above only applies to v1, since then I have switched to using ChainsDD's Superuser 3.2 and su binary.
Q: Why doesn't Google Now seem to work like the I/O demo?
A: You need to have all your language settings set to US English see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740542
Q: I flashed mod x, theme x, etc... and now things aren't working, what happened?
A: This ROM uses modified SystemUI.apk, framework-res.apk, Generic.kl and android.policy.jar, if the mod you flashed also modifies these files it's possible that you may have issues, I strongly recommend you make a Nandroid backup before you use any mods, just in case.

Thank you for this, will try it out. Does this rom have the screenshot option when you long press the power button?

No problem, need to charge my phone anyway. How's the battery life on your Galaxy Nexus btw? Mine drains very fast, i'm using bigxie's v3 rom with stock kernel. I'm having to charge it midway through the day, so on average, twice a day.

i dont have a single problem with bigxie rom in battery. 5 hours screen on with regular battery
so as this rom here has its source up from bigxies, it shouldnt be any difference. but i like to see, that this one here is a bit newer
so i will try it out.
can anyone please confirm camera working? not the problem which are in v3 bigxie

My Camera seems fine, but I've full wiped my phone about 50 times today doing various tinkering between this and AOSP and various other things, so if you dirty flash your results may vary.
I also don't get significantly worse battery life on JB than I got on ICS, but I also don't play heavy duty games regularly, my idle drain is typically about 1-2% an hour.

thats really about normal. No matter what i do i lose about 10% an hour

maybe there are some apps leeching your battery?
watch your battery usage details and report back

Could you replace SuperSU with ChainsDD's superuser? I find it to be a lot better in the newer versions.
Oh, and what about just one reboot menu? And when pressing "reboot", you're presented with three options. Reboot, recovery and bootloader? Like that of most ICS ROMs.

Last I checked it hadn't been updated and was being funky on JB, if it's fully working I can switch it in the next version.

thanks thracemerin
can you add a notification power widget like in thunderstick?

I can answer that for you... whilst it is possible it's a lot of work because you have to create a new view and doing that in smali is quite an effort. Of course if it's being built from source and you modify the source it's much easier. At the moment the best option I came up with was the long press on reboot or recovery for a secondary function (see my 'Super Power Menu' thread).

Yeah, smali is horrible and the JB version is just different enough that I couldn't figure this out without looking at djmcnz's version, while I'm willing to take a stab at this it will be so much less annoying when I can get AOSP to not have issues with gapps.

The last superuser update was 11 days ago. It works extremely well for me. SuperSU is the one that acts very funky for me.

[ROM] [KANG] CM10 for wingray by z1gackly

This is a CM10 kang, built from source mostly for my own use, but I decided to also offer it here in case it can be of use to others.
This ROM will fit into the system partition on the Xoom with Team EOS gapps, leaving approximately 5 Mb of free space. This will not only allow error free installation without any deletions, but also allow you space to flash some extra stuff later.
I achieve this by moving most of the ringtones to data/media/ringtones, removing system videos, and moving most of the free live wallpapers and some inessential apps to the data partition. The stuff I moved adds up to around 50 Mb, so you can see how this would never actually have fitted into the system partition otherwise.
I have also included a few user apps in the data partition which I personally wouldn't be without, even on a clean ROM install. Any of these can be easily removed without any negative consequences.
Features:
Built daily from the latest CM10 source.
Fits into the Xoom's system partition with space to spare.
Larger recent app thumbs to make use of the Xoom's larger display.
New Expand Desktop power menu option (toggled from Settings).
Airplane mode power menu option can be toggled from Settings.
Silent mode power menu option can be toggled from Settings.
Clear all button in the recent apps menu.
Working, upgraded calculator app.
Goo.im update notifications.
Includes the following free apps as user apps:
AdFree - block most ads using a hosts file.
Fast Reboot - clear recent apps from memory.
Flash Player - no longer available from the market for Jellybean.
Gmail - not included in the Team EOS gapps package.
Goo Manager - get OTA updates or download other ROMs.
Hackers Keyboard - includes cursor keys and other essentials.
Quick Boot - reboot without using the power switch.
Root Browser - root file access.
Titanium Backup - backup and restore your apps.
Bonus apps:
Play Board - recommendations for apps and games from the Google Play Store
Paper Artist - Photo effects and drawing package
I may also add future non-standard CM10 features and cherry picks down the road if I think them useful.

Team EOS Gapps: http://goo.im/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/gapps/gapps-jb-20120802-eos-signed.zip
Installation:
1. If coming from a non-CM10 based ROM, do a factory reset. You may need to anyway if you experience problems.
2. Format system.
3. Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
4. Install the ROM.
5. Install the gapps.
6. Reboot and enjoy.
If you want to kang my kang, my source code changes are all here: https://github.com/zigackly in the jellybean branch.
Known issues: None.

Thanks, glad to see some kanged roms for the xoom.
Dropbox files are down because I'm transferring my stuff to goo.im. Shouldn't be long, and I will add today's build too.
New download link in place, and these can also be downloaded with goomanager of course. I will hook future versions up for update notifications via goomanager, but today's build was already in progress when my account came through.
Latest version now features goo.im notification support and an expand desktop power menu option, toggled from Settings, which is useful for gaming and watching video.
Latest release 20121009b fixes the problem in the calculator app by rolling back the advanced features which do not work for the wingray build. Some modifications also to allow more configuration of the power menu. There may be a pause in releases for a day or two whilst the 4.1.2 changes are merged into the CM10 base.
Android 4.1.2 build uploaded.
EDIT: wifi not working. Only worth flashing if you want to see what's different.

As a matter of fact that's news to me. I don't see which branch in github to use to build it though.
Today's update features:
Android 4.1.2 now with working wifi.
No known issues at present.
Oops, Camera not working. Will have a look at that tomorrow.
Camera is now working again in the 20121013 build. Back to no known issues, unless you spot any

Blew the dust off my xoom and installed this build, you're right, everything seems to be fine. Thanks
20121014 contains quite a few new merges from the CM10 base since the last update, including one of my favourites: a vastly improved AOSP keyboard.
I have also bundled two Samsung apps which are difficult to get hold of for the Xoom, via the Codename Sammy Nexus 7 ROM:
Play Board - recommendations for apps and games from the Google Play Store
Paper Artist - Photo effects and drawing package
These are user apps, so are easily uninstalled if you don't like them.
Build 20121015 has a fix for the menu button problem caused by a recent commit to cyanogenmod source code.
There's also an update with a circular battery icon which I've merged in.
i am going to try this out, thanks
Hi thanks for the rom. Seems nice
I know it's your rom and I normally don't make requests, but as they say, if you don't ask you don't get
Any chance of SuperSu instead of superuser. I just think that it plays nicer with jellybean
Thanks for your work anyway

Thanks for the feedback. I did buy a license for SuperSU pro in the early days of JB, so I could get some value out of including SuperSU instead of Superuser. I went with Superuser because it compiles in with CM, but that doesn't mean I can't replace it. I'll see what time I have to try it out.

Introduction
Here is my port of JB AOSP 4.3 for our Xperia S. This is a work in progress, it's currently missing few of the patches I used in 4.2.X and few things are completely untested.
Installation and downloads
You need unlocked bootloader and a working recovery.
Download installation zip from here, mirror thanks to @androidlover007 (I know, uploaded.net is not the fastest of the earth, multipload mirrors coming soon. I'm not against posting any other mirror).
Copy it to internal storage
Wipe Data/Cache
Install gapps for 4.3. Currently, we don't have "official" gapps from CM team, I used PA ones with good success.
Reboot and let the rom settle down a bit
Important: Current release has a recovery with broken offline charging, you should flash a fixed one after installing the rom to avoid any trouble. Check this post.
Kernel source code is here (branch jb-4.2-experimental).
Note: this rom flashes its own kernel that comes with TWRP recovery and last version of Boot Manager. Just use volume up/down to navigate boot manager menu and power to select if you want to go to TWRP. Don't play with Boot Manager options if you don't know what you're doing.

FAQ
Can I flash any kernel with it ?
No. This rom is using Nexus 4 proprietaries and requires matching video drivers. You must use embedded kernel.
Something is not working, crashed, whatever, how can I help ?
Please provide logs! Description is not enough, I need at least logcat and ideally dmesg. If phone reboots, go to recovery, get the /proc/last_kmsg file and provide it to me.
Dev options are missing ?
No, they're just hidden, it's now the default behavior in 4.2.x. To enable it, go to settings / about and tap multiple times on build number, menu will be enabled and stick after reboot.
* reserved, now you can go on *
Great And Fast Work.

Is there need to report bugs or it is too early for such thing?
Anyhow, I'm downloading right now, will report back with observations.
Log:
- Booting seems fine, some glitches but nothing to worry about...
- Font is kinda different, I like it, very much. It is even more close to Helvetica and for me it is very nice typeface porn
- Touch vibration is kinda shorter, more direct but weaker.
- Developer tools are updated with very nice features, everything mentioned at Google I/O 2013.
- Animations are smoother. It's not that "new ROM" smoothness, transitions between screens appear like constant 60fps, without that lag that sometimes occurs regardless on hardware.
- There are some differences in first time configuration, nothing radical but still...
- Google Play Store wont open, close it and relaunch and then it will show TOS. It lags a bit.
- Is it me or DPI is kinda different? Everything seems to be bigger. Icons in drawer, Google play apps... SystemUI feels kinda same. EDIT: 320dpi.
- AOSP keyboard icon is different. RAM usage is same, no lower usage or anything special. Available RAM - 622 MB.
- Touch responsivness seems a bit better.
- Texdroider DPI (DPI changer) doesn't work. On 4.2.2 it would work with OpenSEMC, but it's not the case on 4.3.
SuperSU does not work (no su binaries), this ROM is unrooted. To root it again do the following:
Download SuperSU 1.51 from here
Move it to your root folder on your phone
Turn your phone off, boot it into recovery
flash that zip you copied to your root folder "SuperSU 1.51"
Reboot to system.

Hello. Thank you for stopping by. I decided to port this rom to our beautiful Find7 as I believe we all deserve it! First of all; I AM A NOOB! and will most likely struggle to give you full support but I am learning and will try my best. This rom is heavily themed and has had a lot of work put in to make it as sexy as it is! (The screenshots below can not do it justice. Use the rom and you will understand) - All credit goes to Team Ground Zero and all our hardworking Devs. Team Ground Zero is built upon the willingness to learn, create and socialize on Android. Creators of Validus, a custom AOSP ROM with many features created in house as well as pulled from CyanogenMod, SlimROMs, Paranoid Android and others (Thank you). Members are also dev/maintainers for other popular ROMs. Enjoy your stay! You assume all responsibility for anything that may happen and Team Validus cannot and will not be held responsible for anything that may happen to your device as a result of flashing a rom.

Are you having problems with Lollipop not going in to deep sleep?
I have also had device not sleeping issues. I think this is a widespread bug amongst a lot of 5.1 roms. The way I fixed it is by factory wipe, follow installation instructions again, then once booted, go to settings> privacy guard and set on for new installed apps. Then restore/re-install your apps. You can then go in to privacy guard and set your absolutely trusted apps to "allow" . Since I did this I have 4 x the battery life. No shiz!
It also doesn't help that Google OTA updates is causing device to "stay awake" because Google's SystemUpdateService keeps launching commands even if update system is not there. Some people don't experience as much battery drain as others. I am one of the unlucky people as well Follow my instructions below for a fix
1. Go to settings> Privacy> Privacy Guard - Now click on the 3-dot menu button at the top right and select "advanced"
2 Click on Google Play Services > scroll down and turn off "Wake up" and "Keep Awake" options
3. Reboot in to recovery > wipe cache and davlik and reboot
The steps above will help to an extent but I would also recommend doing the following if you are still experiencing battery drain
1. Download My Android Tools from here and open the app and do the following:
2. Click on "Service" tab on the top left and then click on "System" and then scroll down and click on "Google Play services"
3. Click on the full/short button at the top right > now click on the search button and type in "com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService" and make sure to untick this option
4. Click on the menu bar located at the top left of the screen so we can navigate back to the homescreen of the app >
5. Click on "Broadcast Receiver" tab on the top left and then click on "System" and then scroll down and click on "Google Play services" > now search for "SystemUpdate" and make sure all 3 of the options are unticked (it might already be unticked but it is just to make sure) - Now reboot

Our Team has worked really hard to theme this ROM the way we like it....The CM team has to get their theme engine bugs worked out, we are just happy to have it in there to play around with for now.....

Flashed ok, whitout gapps, but gave black screen....then wiped dalvik/cache and all booted up

I am unsure as I have not tried that. This is the first time I have heard anything about it. If you would like to test it, I would be thankful.

deep sleep might not be working because of the google play services. Try to use GSam battery monitor or BetterBatteryStats and find out whats causing it

It's the google service ino that, but even so it had a hard time going to deep sleep with the new firmware i was running DS Battery Saver as i am now, it works with old firmware not new, so i think it might be incompatible with the new one, or could also be the Xposed that's not working properly with the new firmware.

The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by our public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
Known Issues
- Camera problems per usual. (I may remove the stock cam next build)
- Let me know and I'll try to fix.
Notes
- TWRP and backups - While TWRP 3.0 will work fine on backups between 7.x ROMS if you are running 7.x and try to restore to a 6.x ROM it will fail to restore the data partition. If you have the need to do this you MUST use TWRP 2.8! (Thanks to Sunn76 for that info)
- No integrated root - use Magisk
I highly recommend a full backup before flashing this ROM.Again,I am not responsible if you lose any or all of your data!
Installation
- Install TWRP version of your choice
- Download the Slim 7 zip file
- Copy to your phone
- Reboot into recovery mode (Volume-Up + Home + Power button)

Downloading, I wish youtube problem at 720p is resolved
Edit #1: The zoom in youtube videos continues, the "solution" I found is to see the video to the desired quality and when the error occurs, press the home button, open the multitasking and return to the video, this corrects the problem, in some Cases zoom back
PS: I speak Spanish, so I used the google translator

And you're welcome. Please do post any findings you may have. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your great ROMs! I'll try this one right away because I always considered slim to be one of the smoothest, fastest ROMs out there. The only reason I didn't use it, is because there wasn't a Nougat version, but now there is! Thank you so much!
EDIT: After a few minutes of testing, I've found a few minor bugs. One of them is quite annoying, the other two can be ignored in my opinion.
1. When enabling and disabling the navigation bar multiple times in a row very quickly, SystemUI crashes. It happened by accident, but it was quite weird. (however it doesn't really matter because 'normal' people would never experience this)
2. When opening additional settings in the settings menu, SlimSettings crashes.
3. I'm not really sure if this is a bug, or if this is intentional, but the battery percentage in the status bar has changed into a tilde. So instead of 4%, the status bar now says 4~, which seems strange.

1. I don't really know, but like you said probably not something most will experience.
2. This is a known issue. It will be fixed ( probably removed) in the next build.
3. This is strange. I also don't know about this. I'll look into it though.
Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, the home button doesn't wake the device. I don't really think this is a bug. I personally do not like it. Although I know some will. It should be a fairly easy fix for the next build.

I tried installing the viper4android, but it asks me to install the drivers always, even with the nougat fix, I'm not sure that it could be failing, maybe another sound mod will work, with the ums enabler (mass storage) asks me to change the kernel to permissive , Which seems strange to me because the default comes like this, maybe that's why I can not install the viper4android
#edit 1:
I have a question, the next updates have OTA support or will it be necessary to flash manually?

I haven't messed with Viper4Android on any nougat ROMS, so I can't really help there, sorry. At some point I will though.
I may look into implementing OTA for this ROM. I'm not sure at this point. It just depends on a few things. Either way, for sure the next update will need to be manually flashed.

Thanks for the answers, actually OTA is not so important to me, what I need is youtube, but anyway thank you very much for all your work, in truth keep the device alive
I'm very happy to see a slim Version of Nougat for the g800f. I'll just have to wait till wake up via home button is working. This is a must for me.

Make sure you go to terminal and type: getenforce
If it said enforcing you have to type: setenforce 0
Then check with getenforce again and see if it says permissive now.

The battery percentage is a normal percentage again now. Maybe that's because I rebooted my phone yesterday but it seems to work now!
---------- Post added at 10:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 AM ----------
Is there a way to turn off button illumination in Slim7 without installing a night mode app? In my opinion night mode apps have some disadvantages so I'd prefer a different way.

USING ASD5 KERNEL!! ONLY SECURITY PATCH/REST OF BASE IS ASE6, BUT ALL ASE6 FEATURES ARE INCLUDED!
THIS MEANS TWRP WORKS FINE!
How to flash:
Install TWRP patched with Magisk
Format data (if this is first time flashing custom)
Flash my ROM
Remember to not press reboot system on first boot, but rather go to TWRP home and select reboot to recovery :good:
For already custom users:
Just flash my ROM and select clean flash in the aroma, and then press finish and make sure to reboot recovery and not reboot system on first boot :good:
DEBLOATING CHROME WILL CAUSE 3RD PARTY APPS TO BREAK!!, ITS A SAMSUNG ISSUE NOT MY ISSUE
Kernel: Included kernel is stock kernel, and does not require source declarance!
-Diamond 2.0
Changelog:
-Improved speed
-Fixed ALL bugs!!, works perfectly now in all cases
-Fixed Device care
-Added 8 icons to dock in launcher mod
-Updated base to ASE6 (kernel and a few things still ASD5)
-Chrome removed from debloat options (Will cause 3rd party apps to break if deleted as they rely on it!!)
-Tested and works well on both S10 and S10+ G973F/DS/G975F/DS, not tested on N models but should work 100% fine
Links are in OP!
Remember to press thanks if this is exicting !
Thread will be updated and made look better at some point.
Will be fully rebased to ASE5 when it will fully support TWRP.
But all the things Samsung updated in this version are added in this build
Only kernel is the ASD6 one. That means ASD5/6 TWRP works fine with no camera issues
DOES NOT SUPPORT S10e yet!! this project will be updated so stay tuned!
Supported variants:
G975F
G973F
G975N
G973N
G975F/DS
G973F/DS
G973FD
G975FD
ALL CSC INSIDE

I'm having issues with some apps, samsung health, tmobile, and a bank app. Samsung health shutdown after I select the terms and press next. The other apps open then close up imidietly and crash.
Also device care doesn't seem to work no matter how I flash the rom.
Edit:Also having issues with Gmail...
So if my s10+ is on ase5 I should wait for the next update of this rom?
