Are the home buttons any different on white and blue models? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I noticed when I went in Best Buy and took a look at the AT&T white 16GB and saw the home button was elevated slightly, although it was only a display model, where as my T-mobile pebble blue 16gb has it sitting pretty much flush with the phone. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks in advance.

My wife has a 32gb white one and I have a 32gb blue one... I can tell no difference at all in the buttons on either one. I did notice any LED or light under the while plastic lights up the white plastic making the LED look 'fuzzy' where as my blue one leaves crisp, defined LED light.
But the buttons are both physically the same.

Capacitive Home Button - Light Leak

Hi,
I've recently bought an HTC One V and I noticed that the LED light below the capacitive home button is leaking, even when viewed on a normal angle.
The other capacitive buttons does this as well but only at an extreme angle.
Any of you experiencing this?
TIA!

I just had my unit replaced. No more light leak below the capacitive home button.
I wanted to post images of it, but I need 8 posts to be able to do so.
Anyhow, buyers might want to check the unit first by covering the light sensor on top (to make the capacitive buttons glow).
Thanks for the views XDA people.
I want to make the capacitive lights bright in daylight also, how do I do that?
hey!
guess what? i had the same EXACT problem, except the leak under my multitask button was visible at even normal view. hopefully i'll get my device replaced by a new one tomorrow too.
what did the guys say to you btw? like what all did they ask? just keen to know!
thanks!

I just showed them the unit. They really didn't say anything nor did they argue. Although I did struggle as the store's lights were very bright, so I had to go under a desk just to be able to show it to them (a bit awkward I have to say).
We had to compare with a new unit and it didn't have the light leak below the home button; but when I got home I noticed that it had the leak somewhere else (it looks like a hot pixel, but when you look at it, it's not really part of the screen but in between the glass and the LCD, which is weird). Will go back tomorrow for another replacement.
I guess if you're getting a replacement, try it immediately at a dark place / room to check for light leaks.
i got my unit replaced today!
no more defects anymore, i checked everything before getting home..
how bout you?

The store only had three units on stock.
First and second one both have light leaks, and the third one had yellow spots on the upper left part of the screen + a silvery dot inside the screen sandwiched between the glass also on the upper left corner.
I cancelled my purchase and decided to just buy again when they have sufficient stock of units without defects, or maybe once screen protectors and cases become readily available from retailers.
sir can I know where did you buy One V? I'll buy one this May..just in case..don't end up there
is the attached screenshot below a white leak??
the white leak is very visible on a black background at the bottom of the screen, also the top of the screen has little white leak too.
should i replace this one to the store?

I can find the light leak on mine (in the USB port) in the dark if I'm looking at the phone from beneath it. I suppose some people use their phones that way a lot!
That's so the dust can get in. I think its normal. I have light leak as well in the same spots.

[Q]Question Regarding AMOLED Display [Particularly Black Spots]

Anyone see blackspots on their TMobile Samsung Note 2's in a dark setting?
EDIT:
Forgot to mention, to check for the black spots, set your phone to lowest brightness, then dial
*#0*#
LCD TEST
Select the Vibration Option, and wait for a minute for your display to adjust
You need to do this in a completely dark settings,
Observe Carefully, and then post your observation here,
Any Black Spots?
Posting Pictures using a DSLR camera would be great. I'm surprised Samsung has not resolved this AMOLED issue yet.
yeah i have like a little circle near the bottom right of the screen
I'm not seeing anything on mine... Here's a pic I took with my tablet.

Questions go in Q&A broheim.
I get that, but only on the Launcher. Especially the TW launcher.
its only on black and low brightness
Its pretty common almost every s3 or noteII will have some. But I was pretty picky when I first gone mine and since I work at t-mobile I replaced 3 phones until I got one that didnt have any.

Well I don't have black spots but I do have a cracked screen now :/
Insurance is giving me a new one on Tuesday. I'll check that once for the defect.

I noticed a black line on the left side of my screen when using the camera in low light. Was going to send the phone back for a new one but didn't want to have to put a new screen protector on. It doesn't effect any thing, only can see it with low light with the camera.
Any pictures showing the lines or black spots?
am I blind or am I the only one not seeing an option for black under that menu? I see red green and blue... don't see black.
Select Vibration, and the black screen will appear, let your eyes adjust for a few seconds in a completely dark setting then report your findings on this thread.

Any reason to not exchange my ATT marble white note 2 for a titanium grey?

Yesterday I purchased the i317 marble white. So far the only flaws are the light bleeds through at night with the menu and back buttons, also the white just looks too flashy and the grey looks like it would be something more for me.
Before I return it is there really any reason to stick with the white?
I did not go with white for 2 reasons:
1. the phone is big enough and I didn't want to attract more attention to it.
2. my case would cover up the white anyways, so I went with gray so it doesn't look that crazy in a black case.
is pebble white different than marble white? i have sprint and it is marble.
edit: i see this is your first post. you may be lost.

Questions go in Q & A, and this is the SPRINT forums........
Moved to ATT Q and A
The warranty returns (defective devices only) are for same color only. To swap colors they will probably go through a return and re-buy kind of thing. There may be a $35 restock fee. Best thing would be to go in store and hope for a nice store manager.

I had the gray and switched to the white. My notification led was a little whacky on both grays that I had (while charging), as in the light was really dim and normal at other times. Switched to the white and all is good. Plus, I like the gorgeous display being bordered with white better. Felt like the gray took away from the screen. Btw, doesnt matter what color you buy this phone in, itll be big and attract attention regardless. Good luck!

I had the white on my OG note and Note 2. Thought the white look better on my original note but still looks great on note 2.

I personally love the way white looks. But I did not get it.
The two main reasons I did not get white and went with gray were:
-phone is big and white was a little flashy
-I am a guy and on my last white phone it was really hard to find a colored case that didn't look really feminine IMO. Example: red, lots of times the white kind of bleeds through and give it a pinkish look, but with the grey there are not such problems and I can have different color cases
Just my dumb opinion, but your preference will vary.
I had the original Note in ceramic white. Loved it and thought it looked worlds better than the black Note. Unfortunately, I couldn't say the same for the Note II. The positions were reversed: the ceramic white looks tacky, cheap, plasticy, and not so good. The titanium gray, however, has this really professional, sophisticated, sexy, premium look to it. I really don't regret my decision to go with titanium gray. At any rate, I don't think you could go wrong with either. I suppose I could get used to the marble white and learn to love it, but not as much as the gray model.
My white s3 kept getting dirty and the smudges were very visable. Just annoyed me badly. Yeah it also looked veey very cheap. Way to glossy.

Have both white and gray. Gray for sure. The light bleed on the LED/capacitive buttons is annoying as hell.

Traded my grey for white and im happy with it. Goes better with themes in my opinion.
For the size of note 2 i think it looks better in titanium. I originaly wanted white because i had and loved the white s3, it looked cute in gray case lol. The chrome on the white note 2 looks cheap on it. Chrome is sooo early 2000 imo lol.

I got the white Note 2 because every phone on the market is a dark color. It gets old after a while, and I am really glad I got white because of the notification LED. When in a dark room and I get texts or emails the LED will be a solid blue (sometimes flashes blue) and lights up the entire bezel of the device from top to home button. I think it's really neat looking. Same thing for when the phone is charging or is fully charged. I know it's a weird thing to like but I enjoy it

Could it be from the ambient light sensor controlling it? When in dark places the LED is dim, in bright places is brighter. This is on purpose, a feature, not a bug.

White Note II - Home Button Yellowing?

I've had the white Note II for about 3-4 months and I notice that the home button is starting to turn yellow. Is anyone else experiencing this? The rest of the phone has stayed white. I'm thinking about getting one of those home button covers that people use to cover their Verizon logos.
Thats the problem with white phones. They change their colour after a while.

White screens look with a subtle pink tone towards one side... Anyone?

After a few days of use I'm realizing that, for example, in mostly white screens, it looks a little pink towards the right side (landscape), this is EXTREMELY subtle but I can really notice it in a full white screen, it's still white but with a very, VERY subtle pink tone to it, I wonder if it's a common thing....
I'm very picky, don't know if normal people would realize that (in case they have the same issue...)
It's almost half screen.... Anyone?

I'm not seeing this on my screen, but maybe my eyesight wasn't what it used to be. Try taking a screen shot and transferring it to your computer and check if the pink tone is visible from there. If not then it's probably faulty hardware.
It looks fine to me.
Since I bought it at Best Buy I returned it and got a new one, the girl gave me a little bit of a hard time because she couldn't see anything wrong with the screen... I told her it took me 2-3 days to realize there was this light pink tone towards one side and it was only visible with white backgrounds.... So at the end I was able to return it, I'm glad I did because I was getting very uncomfortable with this.... Btw, there's a very good app to test the colors on the screen, it's called Display Tester (by gombosdev).. Really nice.

I don't remember were I read that if you turn on "reading mode" will give a pink tinge to screen. I think is mentioned on the manual but not sure.
Reading mode gives a nice creamy/yellow tone throughout the whole screen (obviously) only on user selected apps.
