Yes we get it. We don't have ICS while other devices enjoy a port. It's not the end of the world. This thread does nothing but add to the countless of pointless threads that have been created referring to our lack of ICS.

If this is in fact an epic touch, then this thread has loads of meaning. From what I understand our fellow e4gt owners acted like children making the devs go away. This is from November? Man... could of had a daily ics rom right now.

Yeah that's our Epic Touch. It had the touch buttons of the Nexus on the bottom and the radios didn't work, but it was cool to play around with. Flashed it on my phone for a few minutes before going back to Blazer. I'm still hoping we'll have a daily before the Nexus drops on Sprint, but I doubt it.

That's from when people were flashing the international port when it was unusable. With an international port ours should be fairly easy, MUCH easier if we had a leak like they do.

I do believe that members complaining and crying about ICS made the Devs upset so they just dropped it. That's how it is sometimes. The video is of a international port.

Doesn't mean anything whatsoever. These international leaks were for GSM SGS2's, which, last I looked, the Epictouch still isn't. Mine's still a CDMA phone, and there haven't been any leaks for a CDMA SGS2, so we're still where we are with that.
As far as devs go, what do you mean by they "went away"?
They're still "there", (it's not like they were killed by ET4G owners), and they (he) are/(is) still working on ICS: Just not here on XDA.
Btw, this IS another useless thread, in case anyone was on the fence about it....

Great point. ICS will be great, however, there are currently so many great roms / themes out for the E4GT. Enjoy your phone and worry about ICS when and if it gets to our phone.

Can we root or install roms on the GS3?

My Galaxy nexus just died. I dropped it and cannot read the sdcard inside it. I tried CWM recovery, and it gives me io errors when trying to flash it..
I have 3 options:
Repair, get the S3 or wait for the next nexus if it comes out on october 29th.
What would you guys suggest I do? I really love the Nexus brand because i get all the updates directly from Google.. I also love Android 4.1.2 and I know the S3 does not have it..

Thats weird, cause when I looking in my phone options funny enough I see, 4.1.2. Anyone else? I feel like you are going out of your way to troll..just saying.

Not Trolling at all, I know 4.1.2 is suppoded to be released anytime soon on the S3. Just not sure in Canada. My friends who owns S3s are still on 4.0.4.

you need to slow down and not post until you realize where you are. the is XDA. a place where things in the mainstream are not. that being said. we have Android 4.1.2. unlike the rest in the mainstream that don't. so just take my advice and search around the forums before creating threads of your own.

The answer is Yes, I am currently on the Cyanogen 10 Nightlies ... Everything works great aside from some random screen artifacts in youtube and the overall very functional and worth the dabble.

Can anyone help me please im using 4.0.4 rooted but want to update to offical 4.1.1 jellybean?

Well, technically it's not out for AT&T or Verizon or TMO.
But it is officially out for Sprint now I think. Released a day or two ago from what I read.
But most or all of the GSIII's have 4.1.2 available via custom ROM installs.

Really? Your title can't be serious. 1. Your on XDA. 2. You made mention of CWM, so you know rooting. 3. One tab back leads you to all GS3 development - I'm assuming you found your nexus rooting info on here so you're well aware of how the site is organized.
Is it April 1st again? There's another thread asking about rooting tutorial.

As of right now, the 4.1.2 roms for our phone is adequate enough. Most 4.2 roms that are currently out for other GS2 equivalents still have several issues that need to be resolved or are in beta. In my opinion, it is much better to wait for a stable 4.2 rom to upgrade to from the current 4.1.2 roms.
So to the devs who are working on getting 4.2 to our T989, take as much time that's needed. It is better to improve a good rom than to fix a broken one, perfection is key. Cheers!

Officially we are on 4.0.3 (ICS). There were rumours of the S2X having Jelly Bean in December, but that's probably unlikely at this point.

IMO i think that 4.2 will be released which will be after the international version gets released and who knows when the international version gets released and it will take tmobile a couple of months to customize it so that they can release it for our devices so what i believe in is that when you guys finally hear news about the international version being released then i think you guys can post some threads that are accurate and not confusing most of the people on 4.2
Also on another note i think the thing you guys should put your hopes on is cyanogenmod 4.2.1 which still isnt as stable but for you people who are impatient
and like previously stated in this thread even when it gets released it still might not be a daily rom that you can rely on everyday to use to its full potential so sorry for anyone who got there hopes up

Its possible that we coldu get 4.2 but unlikely I doubt wwill get it officially as well.. Its more likely that we will end up with 4.1.3 or 4.1.4 ..or some sort of small incremental update after we get JB

RDF Discussion Thread for Sprint Galaxy Note II (SPH-L900)

This was done over on the Samsung Galaxy S2/E4GT threads by my good friend Febby. I did some digging and discovered we didn't have anything like it over here on the Galaxy Note 2 threads.
Being the RDF junkie that I am I thought it might be fun to start a thread over here.
For those of you who don't know what an RDF is... RDF stands for "Resource Description Framework". In non-geek terms an RDF is essentially a specification sheet that details what the finished product will be. In this case the product itself is already out but any time there is a software revision it results in a build number change. Each build number has an associated RDF.
Before we get too much further, you MUST use Internet Explorer to view an RDF. For whatever reason they ONLY display correctly in Internet Explorer.
You can almost always view the most recent RDF by entering http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-L900/latest in Internet Explorer. *Generally the only time you don't see the latest RDF on here is when it's a potential OTA.
I will try to maintain this thread with the direct links to each RDF as they come out. I will use Post #2 to keep a history of some of our older RDF's. If I miss one don't be afraid to point it out!

You and your hatred of ics are hilarious. JB is built right on top of ics it's not even a new build just added features and a version number change. I bet if they went back and renamed fk23 an ICS build you'd hate it but since it's labeled JB you love it lol.
On topic: maybe this will cut down on the repeated question of "how do I update to fl24?" But I really doubt it. Seems recently theres been a huge influx of seriously illiterate n00bs who flat out refuse to even scroll down the page b4 clicking [new thread] or [reply] I stopped answering the same questions over and over and now just wait for them to figure out for themselves or someone else to parrot the answer for the umpteen millonth time :banghead:

Not so fast EviL, I don't always jump into new releases or roms, I always observe and read, especially the bugs posts. If something works and has a good battery life I'll try it, now how do I know that ics sucks? Only because i tried it. So they fixed ics, after the fix they renamed it jelly bean- that works for me.

Will this update hit my phone at 3a.m. While i was on my lunch break at work so the oblivious question is will this update affect my phones performance? And when will the rooy be avabile for it?

Yes there is root available, also thru Qb king vids, but id caution on the custom recovery, they need to come up with a better method, cause it made a few phones go nuts, including mine, still waiting.....
