This makes me glad I am on Sprint - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19736_7-57472990-251/testing-the-fastest-samsung-galaxy-s3-of-them-all/

I'll be curious what it will look like after their network vision in completed and things normalize.
Its one thing to have crap service with the hope of an upgrade. Another when after the upgrade its still crap.
We moved our lines out of Sprint for AT&T and Verizon. The cost is nearly the same I'm paying about $10 more per month total for 5 lines with my family plan on AT&T since we use Google voice for texting and don't need many minutes with A-List. My one line on Verizon costs me $64 4gb of data 450 minutes all taxes included. After discounts.
Unless you are on Sero Sprint just isn't that much cheaper at all all things considered.

It's just an awful impatient feeling when you look up your area on the NV rollout site and it says 6 updates completed, 29 updates planned. I don't mind since my 3G speeds are pretty decent as it is.

Being a previous att user and having them royally screw over our family plan left a bad taste in mY mouth and sprint having unlimited made me like the idea. Especially when the sales rep told me it did support wimax. 4g better come quick though I feel like the KC launch is a flop. Then again my iPhone 4 got about the same on art 3g so I can't say I stepped backwards. Though 3g here is a bit faster than these tests.

I've been with Sprint for over 10 years. Their 3G used to be good but started to crap out about 5 years ago. Even with their NV, they will play catch up with their 3G. As for the LTE, it won't be as good as the other carriers even at launch because of limited spectrum. In the end, with all the upgrades that the other carriers do, Sprint will always be slower IMO. However, unlimited data. Only reason why I stayed. If Sprint axes that, I'm SOOOOOO gone.

I was on sprint with 2 sero lines, I lasted 7 years with them but the call drop rate, crappy internet speeds, and garbage costumer service was unbearable. I will gladly pay more money for good service...

Current almost 13 yr old Sprint customer.
Out of curiosity i decided to test out Straight Talk (AT&T MVNO) for a month seeing as i had an iPhone 4S laying around as well as a Pantech Element AT&T LTE tablet. I basically would swap out the microSIM between the iPhone and Pantech Element. Even though it was "only" HSPA+, i was pulling 4Megs down on average and more than 1meg up. Plus in the notorious doctors office/pharmacy and workplace locker room where my Sprint phones always die, i had service.
Imagine clicking on YouTube or any multimedia links and the dang thing streams without any hiccups or buffering. I was impressed...
In contrast, i can barely stream a 128k radio station on TuneIn Radio on my Sprint phone at times.

All I can say is THANK GOD I LEFT SPRINT LAST MONTH! ATT has been great so far! Both in network and CS!

Was on sprint for 4 years, left, well because of this lol. Not this article but there Crap 3g lol. Also my house and surrounding area was a black whole. On at&t now and loving it. No unlimited data but my plan with discounts clocks in at about 20 bucs more then sprint. Happy to pay the difference.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2

Those Sprint data speeds were better then what I was getting when I had Sprint. I'm happy to be in the prepaid world with a cheaper plan, much faster data and sofar unlimited.

I left sprint about 8 years ago because the cell service sucked with them. I am in the Lehigh valley in pa and at&t is great. I was going to switch to Verizon for the lte but my S3 from at&t has pulled over 10 down and 2 up on hspa so it wasn't worth losing unlimited data over a couple megs up, in my area Verizons lte only gets 10 down 10 up.
Edit- by the way, about sprints speeds, I love when in the speed test thread here people were calling T-Mobile the slowest network. They were completely disregarding sprint even existed.

Sprint should be ashamed selling their product in its current state. I almost left them last month.. I stayed for unlimited data and because LTE is supposed to be here later this year. If something comes up and I can get out of my contract tho, Im gone.

This whole LTE thing is wimax all over again. I live in the metro Atlanta area and the building penetration for this new 4g is just as crappy as the previous. I seem to be getting more bars on this phone but the data speeds are still terrible.
Sprint says they are doing this and that but the bottom line is that their network is still garbage. Only thing they have going is unlimited data. /rant

Sprint vs Tmobile. If you could switch.

Ive been with Sprint for a year, and Ive been putting up with there slow network for a couple of months. Im trying to give Sprint a fair chance to launch LTE in my area( there suppose to start network vision this month) before I start making a decision. I have no prblem buying my device outright so Tmobiles value plan woould save me some money (no i dont want the galaxy nexus, its already last year tech and i would like to see what happens for the holiday season or how the beastly the next nexus is) and i had them before so I know how the service is in my area. My question is if some of you had a chance to switch to tmobile (or some other carrier) rite now or by the end of your contract would you switch.
Sprints in a much better position than tmobile in terms of spectrum and network upgrades. In a year or so sprint will be up there on par with Verizon. If you're in an LTE area, you have unlimited and lte.
Tmobile is good in major cities in terms of data speeds, but I think their building penetration and voice over gsm technology aren't too good. Sprint can roam on Verizon so in theory you have so much coverage.
Tmobile has unlimted data and Tmobiles future position will allow them to roam with at&t 3G/3.75G network and use unlocked devices in there network natively (since the pcs 1900 DC-HSPA+ refarm) and on top of that since their using aws for LTE they can roam on Verizons and at&t future LTE network. So, Tmobile is looking good as well, plus they could always sign with clearwire for extra bandwidth.

I doubt Verizon and att will allow that lol

They will cause the FCC is suppose to put that clause in the deal to allow Tmobile and Verizon sell/swap spectrum around.
Bump. Anybody else have thoughts?
Very tempted. 7 years with Sprint but the prospect of International unlocked phones unlimited data and no contract is attractive.
let's face it sprints data speeds suck. I've been on LTE since it went live and the coverage is too spotty to be effective. Ends up being just a faster mostly 3G experience with frequent loss of connection due to constant 1x, 3G, LTE handoff.

I switched to T-Mobile for six months last year but I couldn't stand it. I could only get a decent signal if I was outside or near a large window. I came back to Sprint and would rather deal with "slow" speeds than have faster speeds that are severely limited by location.
I'm in the St. Louis area but if T-Mo has great coverage where you are and you can't wait for Sprint's network then you should choose maroon.

Sprint is still working in Atlanta. You'll have LTE everywhere you get 3g when it's finished. Sprint also has HD voice, which is where gsm is lacking.
LTE will have a crystal clear voice with VoLTE and IMS plus I dont care about voice quality cause i mostly text or dont use minutes at all. I mostly use data only anway.

well in overall its a matter of choice, personally ive been with sprint for about 7 years now non-stop, yeah ive had some issues with connectivity and signal loss but very rarely...not enought to make me wanna swich to another carrier, now only reason why im still with sprint is for 3 reasons, 1 is verizon, 2 is AT&T huge desapointing networks very expensive and very limited to their service data plans. now T-mobile does have great service and cheaper plans, but u gotta pay extra just to get 4g if u wanna use it for longer times, and now that 4g LTE is coming i can garantee u that their data plan is gonna sky high up the roof, not by much but it will go up i can garantee u that. so if i had my choice betwen does 2, limited 4g LTE or unlimited 4g LTE, id still stick with sprint, ive hadnt had any issues with their CS ive actually had great customer services no problems their althought maybe 2 or 3 every now and then in a blue moon that didnt know jack sh**. i can deal with the slow 3g i barely get 1.5mb/s over here without LTE still waiting for LTE which hasnt been listen just yet in my area but comming soon. if i can listen to music on pandora, watch netflix and surf the web at decent speeds without taking 10 seconds to load a page and have any interruptions then im happy enought and can deal with it. thats why i got wifi waiting for me back home when i get there so i can download does big files that i know i wont be able to download in seconds. until LTE arrives.

I think it's all a matter of where you live but here in ol San Antonio at least for me, Tmo suckssss! I've been with Sprint for 7 years and all I have to say is that 3g does suck compared to ATT but at least I have unlimited 4G which I use at least 5+GB's worth a month. Okay 4G is spotty but I'm only paying about $70 a month and super slow 3g is my only complaint. Mostly connected to wifi anyways and have never had a dropped call.

I got to give a thumbs up to Sprint's customer service too. They always take care of their long-term customers or did when I was in the financial bind a few years ago.... during the Fed lockdown in arguing over unemployment for two months I never lost my cell and couldn't pay the bill for quite a while. They were great.

I was with t mobile for about 7 years before I switched to Sprint. Only reason I switched, was my company put me on their plan and started to pay for the bill. That being said, I think t mobile was hands down better than Sprint. (I'm in the Atlanta area btw). T mobile had extremely better data speeds 99 percent of the time. Reception is about the same. My gf still has t mobile and I check mine vs hers all the time. Every once in a while I'll get a decent data speed, but usually t mobile is faster. If I had to pay for my own line, I would switch back to t mobile in a heart beat. Better service, better data, upgrades every year (even let me do my upgrades every 6 months if you call their customer service).

I don't like the fact that T-Mo outsources CS jobs.
Honestly if i do decide to switch to Tmobile, i wouldnt be apposed to coming back to Sprint if I had to. (Tmobile goes bankrupt, I move and Tmobiles coverage is bad.. etc) Sprint has a god network vision strategy theyre moving slow and there wont be any real results of network vision until 2015, after most markets will be complete and they phase out iden for use of the 800mhz band for LTE-A. Also Clearwire should have a good LTE-A coverage by then.

if that is true that t-mobile does have better service and better data, then whats stopping u from switching back to t-mobile, despite that ure company is paying for sprints service, that shouldnt stop yah from switching...the fact of the matter is...if u really wanted to switch to t-mobile u would have and just spent that money out of ure pocket, im sure u earn well enought to pay for it on ure own, other whize u wouldnt be saying that. as for upgrades u can also do ure upgrades every year with sprint as well.

Thinking about jumping ship from Sprint and coming over to AT&T, looking at the GS3

Thinking about jumping ship from Sprint and coming over to AT&T, looking at the GS3
Thinking about buying a AT&T GS III today.
I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy II now but I'm sick of Sprints data, what good is unlimited when you get 20 kbps on average or it times out completely. I've tried countless ROMS, Modems and Kernels with little to no luck.
We have no 4G where I work and the 3G is a joke.
I'm currently using the corporate PRL file along with ROAM Control to permanently use Verizon's towers. I was hoping they would give me the boot but no such luck. Even on Verizon, the speed just isn't that great because I can't use Verizon's enhances data network.
Everyone I work with has AT&T and the speeds look great, even when not on LTE the HSPA+ looks really good. My friends got the Skyrocket and I WISH I had his HSPA+ speeds lol.
Couple questions before I make the move though. Does AT&T offer discounts for various types discounts? I'm an ISD School District, Technology's Department. I have a discount because of this threw Sprint, 15% off.
Also, the plan I'm looking at is the 70 dollars unlimited with 4G of data. If this LTE data or both LTE and HSPS+? My friend says when you hit your LTE data cap, the phone still works on 3G. Someone else said that is not true, you get 4G of everything, when you hit the cap, you get charged.
Also can someone explain to me why the $70.00 dollar plan, or any plan for that matter has a surcharge of $40.00 dollars for "Smartphones"? Sprint does something similar, they charge $10.00 dollars for premium data which most Sprint users thing is BS. I actually have a 2 year monthly revolving monthly credit because I called and *****ed that we don't even HAVE 4G in this area. Sprint used to call this a 4G data charge, they have sense changed it to a "Premium Data" fee so they don't get so much crap about it.
Looks like I'm looking at $70.00 for the service, $40 for a "Smartphone" fee, $10.00 dollars for insurance and $3.00 for Roadside, I've used this more times then I can count on Sprint so I might at well get it for AT&T too. About $130 a month with everything.
My work gives me $40.00 a month towards my phone but if I can snag a school employ discount, maybe I can get this down to the same range as my Sprint service.
Has anyone here come to AT&T from Sprint and or Verizon? What is your impressions of AT&T's data other then LTE?
Dumping Sprint was the best thing I ever did.
I now have data that "just works" throughout Florida, and it's fast as hell almost everywhere I've checked along the ring formed by by I-4/I-75/I-95 + Turnpike. Half my drive to work used to be a de-facto dead zone. It's not, anymore.
I get ~26mbps in SE Florida and Orlando, and reliably get ~10-16 in Naples & Bradenton (hspa+ speeds, but supposedly LTE; I suspect it's a backhaul-imposed limit. Either way, it beats Sprint like an unloved child.)
I can't speak for other parts of the country, but AT&T's coverage *and* speed is rock-solid south of I-4, and I have no reason to think it's any slower in northern Florida (with the possible exception of the hardcore rural area between Tallahassee and Pensacola)
Just one major annoyance. If I'm visiting my parents in Naples & using wi-fi, sometimes the phone slips into non-UMTS/HSPA(+) mode, and causes annoying "GSM noise". I wish I could figure out how to lock the phone into 3G mode so it won't do that. I know it saves battery life, but I *really* hate "GSM noise." I'm sure there's a way to do it, I just haven't found it yet.

i think that is the new tiered data plan structure. The $70 is for unlimited talk and text. The $40 is for the pool of data. I'm on a grandfathered unlimited data plan, so I can't guarantee that the previous is 100% accurate. I know that they switched to something similar to verizon's plans.
ATT 3G blows verizon and sprint speeds out of the water. On 3g, I get close to 4 Mbps downstream on a good day and 1Mbps downstream on a slow day. I got that on my old galaxy s1 as well. Plus, you get a different tier of data speed with ATT...HSPA+. ATT has a theoretical speed of 21Mbps for HSPA+, although I've only ever seen mine go up to around 10Mbps. I have LTE just about every where I go. I get 30-50Mbps on LTE.
To the OP I was in the EXACT same boat your in. I had a Sprint GS2. With useless data speeds. Ran on different PRL's and received the roaming data threat. I asked myself the same thing..... why have unlimited data if it takes 5 minutes to open up a web page and calls always dropping.
I can't really speak for your plan questions but my wife is an RN and we get 15 percent off our bill.
Switching to AT&T was the best decision for us. Data speeds are so much faster then Sprint here in WV.
Good luck bro.....

They don't have unlimited data plans for us new customers. What you're looking at is unlimited talking and texting most likely. They have a 300mb, 3gb, and 5gb data plan. The 5gb plan includes tethering.
My biggest complaint about AT&T compared to Sprint is that they really do nickle and dime you to death. 4 things that get me:
SMS. Sprint had unlimited included. AT&T it's 20/mo unlimited or 0.20/message
They *charge airtime* for 800 numbers. Sprint didn't.
Using GV to forward voicemail uses 2 anytime minutes for every call.
Sprint was mobile to mobile any network. AT&T is only to AT&T customers unless you add that 20/mo unlimited SMS plan.
At&t has updated plans, not sure of the new data plans, but they have a plan to talk and text to any carrier for unlimited

I have an employee discount, so my unlimited text/data with 450 prime minutes w/rollover 2000 night weekend is on $80/month.
I made the exact same switch about 1 month ago & it's the best move I've made! On a good day (more like a minute) with Sprint, I'd get 1 mbps, but I'd average .30 mbps or less. Unlimited data is useless.
I was nervous about the 3gb cap with ATT, but after now having it, 3gb is alot more than I thought is was. Using my phone like I did with Sprint, maybe being a little more careful, I haven't even used 1gb yet (the 9th is actually 1 month, so plenty of data for me). I just now make sure if wifi is available somewhere I to use it. I set the data limt on my GS3 to 2.5gb limit just incase.
I now average 5-7mbps on 4g. I've speedtested a few times I've had LTE & get well over 20mbps. I maxed out 54.46 & I got 36,11 once too, The LTE is unbelievable, sometimes faster than my Verizon Fios at home where I get 43 mbps.
Also in comparison to VerizonWireless, I've had a better phone signal in a lot more places & faster data.
What made me pull the plunge...When I thought about the slow 3g & barely getting 4g. I couldn't ever hit 3gb of data with Sprint even if I tried on pupose. So why not have usable data with a cap, instead of unusable without a cap? & the phone service for me has been on a decline. No signal, unusable in more places.
Now I can actually open websites, pictures load on FB & Instagram almost instant! The most important thing, my GPS connects in less than 5 seconds everytime & navigation actually works now (not using as much data as I thought it would either). If you download GPS Test & compare the phones side by side, you'll see what I mean for yourself.
Make the switch, you won't regret it!
The Sammy GS III was looking nice but I just finished reading some reviews on the upcoming LG Google Nexus 4, I think I might hold out another week or so and pick one of those up $349.00 with no contract sounds damn appealing.
If I'm reading this right, it should work on AT&T right?
I would......
Certainly the SIII is an awesome superphone. I use Bell Canada and I am very happy with the hardware.

Welcome to the att forums, my uncle has Sprint and is also frustrated on his iPhone about data speed in LA which is supposed to be pretty good here

Thinking of going with sprint.

I was thinking about switching over to sprint for the note 2 and their unlimited data plan as I am paying $110 a month for 5gb of data as it stands with at&t ... I get a 16% discount with at&t and a 20% with sprint...thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

I would ask friends/family if they have att unlimited data and try to get grandfathered in. I've heard some questionable things about sprint mostly their data speeds and data coverage. I guess it all depends where you go. I live in LA and my data speed is awesome but most of the time my signal sucks. Thinking about switching to the note 2 myself.

Not sure how Sprint is in your area but I signed up for a two year with Sprint and cancelled within a year because the service was so bad. I'm not exactly in a poor service area either.

Well everyone seems consistent that Sprint sometimes has poor coverage. That was my thought as well. I've never had it but that's because many people I have known or work with have and it seems next worst after Tmobile for coverage. That's in the Los Angeles area but I'm also factoring experience with people traveling around the country.
One guy on Sprint will frequently want to conference call by calling me first then calling the third number, and I can't recall having a call where his connection didn't drop and of course take the call with it.
Every time I'm tempted to try Sprint I remember the experience of people I know who have it. By the way, I haven't heard anyone actually complain about Sprint in years, but I think they're just used to the dropped calls.
I live in in about 45 miles NE of LA, and Sprint coverage around here and all around LA is bad on a good day and terrible the rest of the time. The data speeds are laughable. I just switched to ATT because they HSPA+ is night and day faster than anything I got on Sprint, even on their doomed WiMax network. While there voice coverage was OK, there 3G speeds were just so absolutely horrible, and the fact that 4G is all but non-existent with them made it an easy choice to switch after many years with them.
If you are not in a 4g area, the data speeds are awful.
Typically a good coverage area without 4g would give me less than 1mb down and up. If I was in a lower coverage area it was far worse. 4g areas were great, but they were very hard to find.
I just switched to att and I can tell you without a doubt that (sans 4g) my worst speeds so far on att beat my best speeds on sprint. Unlimited data is great, but only if you can consume it faster than a snail can run.
Other than terrible speeds, I was very happy with sprint. The price was good and the service was good. Coverage was just OK.
Sprint should never be an option when considering a data plan.
Had sprint for 13 years in Dallas because of low prices and 4g coverage. Finally switched to at&t because coverage was so bad and have never been happier with a cell phone. Avoid sprint at all costs if you can.

Moved to Att from Sprint. Better data coverage and speed and infinitely better customer service.
Unlimited data at slow speeds is worthless.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I also moved from Sprint to At&t and could not be happier, back when I had nextel it was good, they had service back in the woods but once sprint took over it sucked, I miss the old Iden network. I had no reception in my house, and I live in a very good coverage area with any other carrier, even T-mobile had better service. But I also have unlimited (5gb) data for $30 and my total bill for the family plan for my wife and I is $150 so I dont think I could switch now if I wanted to.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO!!!
12 year Sprint customer here. I still have one year left on my Samsung Epic 4G Touch (S2) and it is simply not usable as far as data goes on 3G. Make damn sure you live in an area that has LTE before making the switch.
I'm lucky to see 50~100kbps speed tests on Sprint. Youtube doesn't load. Webpages time out. Streaming audio is a no go. I've tried every combo or ROM and modem I can think of.
We have 4G WiMax downtown, which my phone is WiMax, not LTE and it does work on 4G when I'm down there but I get maybe 4000~6000kbps which is very usable BUT the sad thing is I'm getting 6000~8000kbps on ATT 3G/HSPA+, not even there LTE.
Sprint blew up big and doesn't have the network to support it the speeds. Few years ago data worked fine on early Smart Phones but it seems like ever since they got all these Androids and the iPhones, it went to hell.
5GB of working data on ATT is way better then Unlimited that really doesn't work.

I could be mistaken but I believe Qwest is still piggy-backing on their network along with who knows how many other prepaid carriers. None of which benefits Sprint's customers when it comes to data speeds.
Sent from my phone.
Switching from Sprint to AT&T after ten years on Sprint is one of the best tech choices I have ever made. AT&T honored a 25% discount I had at Sprint that Sprint wouldn't honor it if I renewed my contract. Data speeds are now fast enough to be useful and customer service is amazing. EVERYTHING has been better on AT&T.

Problem, with that is their map is nowhere near accurate people have been shown that they have full strength in their addresses and yet in real world its horrendous

Don't even get Sprint if you live in an area with LTE. It will drop out with 100% signal strength and be very spotty. At 100% LTE 1 min you'll get 20mbs, the next mins you'll get 2mbs.
Go with a Net10(att) $50 unlimited plan. HSDPA+ and they claim themselves there is 50,000 minutes a month and NO data cap soever
Signing up with Sprint is kind of like buying a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get. Well, besides horrible data speeds and coverage.

Who is enjoying their T-Mobile Note 2?

I want to switch to T-Mobile from AT&T and finally ditch my iPhone 4S. I am so tempted by their unlimited data plan. How is the service in general compared to AT&T (coverage permitting of course)?
Is the new unlimited data plan really unlimited???
No they lie, it's not truly unlimited, they have limit at 9000+ GB per month ...

I love Tmo's service. I've been with them for about 3 years now & the coverage is pretty good. 4G speeds are good, a little slower than AT&T's 4G, but I've had both & the difference isn't really noticeable during every day use.
I had T-Mobile prior the iPhone 4S. Their service was excellent here. Some places EDGE, yes, but calls never dropped. I got onto AT&T and calls started dropping like crazy. During peak hours data was very slow. At first I liked being on a much larger network, but now I hate it.
I want truly unlimited data and better service. T-Mobile does have better quality service, its just not as mature as AT&T.
Loving mine. Had sprint for years but tmo is much better. Came from a tmo gs3 and I love this phone.,?

Believe me, I want to switch to T-Mobile so bad, but I dont want to pay an ETF with AT&T. It would be $195 if I left. Started service Oct 2011 with them.
Anyway, they drop so many calls and data sucks. Their LTE is nice but the costs are not. They also throttled speeds during calls too.
$140 for 4 lines, unlimited 4g,unlimited messaging, and 1000 minutes (never used) is a great price
love t-mobile data speeds customer service and all. I mean I live in a big city and I am inside a big city 99% of the time. I guess unless you travel a lot outside a city you'd be fine coverage wise. t-mobile data speeds is great too. I get 10mbps and up in and around metro-jax peaking at 27mbps.
last September 5 they introduced the truly unlimited nationwide 4g for $20 on value plan $5 cheaper than 5gb+hotspot. never been happier. I don't even know what wifi is anymore lol
I couldn't even hit 200gb on my laptop where I download tons of data and stream Netflix a lot so I wouldn't worry too much with 9.5TB of caps.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
I think that they had/felt like putting in a number. But after all that I am sure your billing cycle would be over anyways. Between my home and T-mo interweb, I usually DL about 300GB per mo.
I truely enjoy my Note2.
Note 2 is the sickest phone ever
For once there is a phone that is everything it claims to be. Note 2 passes my expectations in entertainment, for business, and for school. I've been entertaining people by the handfuls with this thing. T-Mobile has definitely made some big changes with their phones and their customer service. Although every now and again I get into it with them, but that's everywhere. I've driven cross country a couple times with my SGS and SGS II and both times I only lost signal in the most desolate places. Speeds are very impressive. I try to compare with other people and their different carriers all the time. There are moments when I get speeds close to Verizon users, using SpeedTest. Overall I'm very impressed with T-Mobile and their fight to bring back some competition to the phone market. I have unlimited everything including data with no cap to slow down and I only pay $75/month. That's including insurance for $7.
I've had T-Mobile for 8 years and I'm happy with my service. Not to mention all of my 3 lines have unlimited everything (no caps) and its under $100

Damn thats spensive . im paying 74.00 for 1000 mins unl/txts unl/4g and 3 lines and they gave me the note 2 for 140.00 after rebate at that price.
Same here I have had T-Mobile for 11 years thats since they were VoiceStream, love the service I live in NYC great speed and coverage for 2 lines unlimited everything for $100. As a matter of fact before I purchased my Note 2 my upgrade wasn't until june 2013 they gave me an early full upgrade for being a loyal customer. They actually have a loyalty department which I thought was pretty awesome great customer service have no plans on ever leaving.

But how does T-Mobile compare to AT&T? AT&T has LTE everywhere here in Chicago. T-Mobile does have a nice AWS HSPA+ network but its not as mature as AT&T's. Speeds top out around 25mbps too.

Rumor has it.............
Most likely propaganda put out by other carriers, and double agents posing as reps working for T-Mobile stores
No 4G LTE data throttling here. Last month used 42gb
When I hit 9,999GB, I'll let ya know lol!
So if you have the 4G unlimited you wont get throttled but if you get lets say the 2gig data plan and go over you will right?
im getting T-Mobile since ATT rapes you with data charges and stuff.
i want to know how slow will you get throttled down?
2G or 3G??
i wouldnt mind 3G... its unlimited so who cares but if they go all the way down to 2G then might as well get the 4G unlimited right?

I'm unsure about the 2G, 3G but for $20/mo. for Unlimited 4G LTE, you can't go wrong.
I left Sprint after 14 years, a few months or so ago because their data speeds sucked where I was, and LTE was non existent, in addition to always dropping voice calls, and getting really tired of their empty promises and excuses. I went over to Verizon for a few months knowing that they crap on you with their data pricing, but I had heard negative things about T-Mobile, and Atnt would be like Verizon re pricing. I decided to check out T-Mobile for myself because the negative comments were from a while ago, and Verizon was crapping all over me with their outrageous pricing.
So I went into a T-Mobile store, purchased an S4 to try out in the real world for their 14 day trial period, and after 2 days, ported over.
In my experience, T-Mobile has been the best regarding their plan pricing.
Coverage for the areas I frequent has been excellent, and that is what is most important. Once you see you have excellent coverage, T-Mobile is a done deal

Even though the map says your covered, you really have to try out the service in the areas you most frequent, either with someone else's S4 (which you may have done already) or during your trial period. But I'm sure you're already aware of that.
I go with the carrier with the best coverage and pricing that will benefit me the most.
I gotta say that if T-Mobile continues on the path they are now regarding overage, plans, pricing, etc., I'd like to see them pull more Verizon, Atnt, and Sprint customers away from their carriers.
The T-Mobile of today is not the T-Mobile of yesterday, and that's the albatross they have to shake off, but I think they're well on their way.
I think they're already shaking up the industry with their no contract plans, upgrading availability 2x a year, etc, as the other carriers are following their lead.
