[20.JUL.12][ROM]Cyanogenmod 10 [AOSP] - HD2 Android NAND Development

Hi, I was able to compile CM10 for our leo it is 100% built from source by me. So from the guy that brought the HD2 ics, I now bring you the first 100% built from source JellyBean ROM for our Leo. NOTE: As of now it's for clk only you'll have to flash the patch to go from clk to mag to use it on magldr.
Working :
Boots
Touchscreen
GPS? (Maybe)
GSM
Data
Bluetooth
Google Now? (Can't Test)
UMS Mode
I think that's about it.

Take one 10char

Maybe two 10char

Great work, beat me too the punch, was gonna attempt this tomorrow, will try and make a sd port instead (i'll ask for permission before posting if it works)

Backing up my old system and gonna give it a shot. Will report everything I encounter.
EDIT: It doesn't work. I'm using MAGLDR 1.13 and CWM 5.0.2.6. I flashed your zip. It won't boot. It won't find the boot partition.
"NAND kernel open failed"

Let's try this! Thks!

Thanks for the tip. After flashing the new partition layout it works now.

flashing this now
just realised it has the cm9 boot animation i wonder if they make a cool new one?
ha just noticed when you tap multiple times on cm10 in about phone setting it show the cm10 version of the jelly bean animation with android heads
so far.
data works
i dont think google now is implemented (doesnt show up on the lock screen or the search bar)
couldnt get the pinch notification to work so that might not be in yet either
thats all i found
well it was fun

Alright here the things that I've found:
Data is not working (at least rmnet, don't know about ppp). The H icon is showing
up, but I can't make a connection.
I couldn't test GPS because I have no app to test this. ADB is somehow not working, so I can't install apps this way.
As expected Wifi and camera is not working.
BT, USB is working.
Is there a problem with HWA on Jelly Bean? It's quite slow.
But it's nonetheless a good start for CM10 on this device. Looking forward to future builds.

ENG/Spanish

ALL Language
http://www.4shared.com/file/Li387IDO/androidinstallwithlanguage_3.html
Issues:
1. Camcorder don't work (same as other froyo)
2. USB tether not working
Recommendations:
1. Clear Dalvik-cache before installing ROM
2. Install on NAND both system and data (don't do HARET)
3. Turn off Mobile Data connection if not in use.
4. Try not to overclock when testing for stability
5. If you turn on your device an it does not respond, it's most likely in Fake Vsync. Just open the keyboard and press FN+Left soft button, then FN+right soft button.
6. DO NOT REBOOT (data corruption on reboots and shutdows still persists)!!! If you do then immediately Clear the Dalvik-cache and Fix permissions (may help, may not)
All Language version to follow soon.

You mean the boot animation? It should be in "/system/media/bootanimation.zip" if I"m correct. Otherwise the splash screen is just a KAISIMG.nbh that you flash. See this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=646186&highlight=splash

Thanks! I actually meant the boot animation
so your problem with the boot animation is that their is no boot animation file present in the file
it usually sits in the /system/media folder
i just added the boot animation from the newest fresh froyo and its displaying a boot animation just fine, did you get bluetooth working?

So does this have CWM embedded in the kernel like Koush's version that was posted on here (and which caused quite a few issues)? I'm just wondering how easy it would be to switch to other kernels/roms later if running with this rom.
paulobrien said:
This is a very very very very very early Alpha release of my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Here's what you need to know. READ ALL OF THIS SECTION.
It's based on the XWJMF release.
It's tested on my Euro tab only.
In order to use, you must have installed my EXT4 Kernel (version r2) or above and completed the conversion to EXT4. The ROM does not include the kernel at this time.
The ROM must be installed via ClockworkMod recovery, which is automatically installed with the above kernel.
The ROM is optimised with the MCR build system.
The ROM is deodexed.
The ROM retains the stock Samsung certificates at this time, so a wipe should not be required.
The ROM has some Samsung crapware removed.
The ROM will grow rapidly in features from this point forward - this is the starting point!
Keyboard backlights, GPS, Gyros, Rotation etc. etc. - they all work.
Baseband XXJMA is the accompanying version for this ROM, but it *should* work with other basebands.
YOU INSTALL THIS ROM AT YOUR OWN RISK, make sure you take a backup with ClockworkMod first, and ensure you are familiar with using ODIN / Heimdall for recovery.
Feeling brave? Go ahead!

Here is the beta 3 to 4 update.zip I talked about earlier.
All credit goes to Feb and the other awesome devs. I just created an update.zip that seems to work for me. If you break your phone using this, it's not my fault. I have only tested it quickly.
creamed_glacier_beta_3to4_wifi_fixes_apns_extras.zip (34.95 MB)
The above patch includes a bundle of updates from feb's beta 4.0, an APN list, exta live wall papers, an add blocking hosts file and a few other things.
Calendar sync, market, wifi, talk, and headphones all worked for me.
How to install:
---------------
- Reboot into Recovery
- FULL WIPE (factory reset, delvik, system) [i had issues when i didn't full wipe]
- Install Feb's creamed glacier beta 3.0
- Install TDJ's v13 beta ICS kernal
- Install this zip
- Reboot
- On first boot select "Setup Wizard"
Note: If the APNs don't load go into the APN settings, hit the menu button, and select "restore defaults"
As I said if you break your phone don't come crying to me, no warranty!
If this helped hit the "Thanks" button

I think the red line issue is due to me packing the wrong LatinIME.apk. I'll fix it later tonight.
If you want to fix it. You can:
1. grab the apk from the beta 4 zip
2. push it to /system/app
3. change the perms to match the others.
4. reboot.
That is what I did and it seems to work.

I tried also with good results! CM7 + CM9 is a good combo - allows us to have camera working as well as the latest and greatest AOSP. It's amazing how similar the two devices are.
The trick is to correctly allocate the sizes of the 3 ext-3 fsimages based on personal use. 300 mb was way too small for me
This mod definitely has lots of quirks though...if you don't know what you're doing, it might not work.
After downloading files, I would suggest looking at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21401063&postcount=249

please can you provide with detail step by step guide of how to do this. The link you provided as steps is quite confusing.I have full working quarx CM7 nightly edition of bravo as base ROM.I don't even see you tube video for this guide. It would be great aid to bravo users if you could possibly upload video on this at you tube.

If you are running alredy CM7 it will be very easy for you.
You can try Multiboot manager instead of doing it manually:

It is very easy, anything Im going to be here to answer!
Probably naive...
I'm just getting back into the fun, and it's nice to see how things have progressed...wow.
Will multi-boot CM7/CM9 share app data?
EDIT: And I don't see the Play app in CM9?

You should access to your account in the rom so that everything updates itself.

Please try it again.
I tried three roms at a time and worked fine for me.
CM7, CM9 and MIUI.
I will try this rom to see if there is a problem with me.
WR and Pikachu were originally made to be used with 2nd-boot, but that never worked with the Bravo. I've never tried them on multiboot. I don't normally use multi boot due to too much music on my sdcard. That, and I had problems with roms with bugs/glitches they didn't have when installed to the system.
Honestly, WR is buggy as hell. I'd release an update, but I can't get some of the tweaks to work right and there's no radio after installing the updated one. If you want an updated WR, the closest thing is my current nandroid...The only problem is its touch recovery and I've never once tried multi boot with touch recovery.
I suppose I could remove touch recovery up my nandroid later today. It has working Bravia(yes I tested before and after and I made a difference), updated beats audio, 30 step volume, cyanbread framework themeing, brews coffee, the miui explorer from Defy forum, custom framework animations, transparent status bar/notification drawer, walks your dog, and zepplinrox's scripts already ran and set up. It has everything WR had except Go Launcher and Miui apps.
Autocorrect is pissing me off. Miui was Louis, Mohican, and Minuit. And my thumb is sore now.

Thanks, got Gapps working! Now I can't seem to figure out root?
A little late, but superuser was broken on ICS multiboot. Its fixed on the 0417 release.
Has anyone else been having problems installing multiboot when CM9 is the primary nand rom? It installs, boots to 2nd-system, but nothing works except boot from nand. Selecting anything other than boot from nand gives me the multiboot error screen and I have to reboot. The same zip works perfectly fine with CM7.

A system installed on the sdcard tends to use a bit more battery in my experience. That and the lost gigabyte of sd storage are the only disadvantages of using multiboot.
I will add that some roms have glitches when installed to the sdcard they normally wouldn't have as a nand install. Its a hit or miss when dealing with multiboot sd roms and glitches.

current issues with turbo kernel 3.1

Here's what i can see what glitches i can find in turbo kernel 3.1
-screen animations and are disabled and is not to be turned on [ICS]
-Video playback is buggy, regardless what video player you use, youtube included. [ICS]
-camera does not work (FC) on launch on stock based ICS rom, required patch is found -> HERE <-
-Sometimes becomes complacently unusable, sometimes will not go to recovery menu and will just freeze. a complete FTF Flash and kernel install is required to fix. Sometimes after kernel install choosing TWRP recovery hangs on loading TWRP, presumed fix, remove SD card and place in a external reader and delete the the turbo folder "WARNING - THIS WILL DELETE ALL OTHER SLOTS OTHER SLOTS OTHER THEN SLOT 1" place SD back in phone reboot back into TWRP and wait a couple of minutes.
-Visual Glitches [GB]
-camera completely doesn't work in [GB]
-More to report as i find them.
For?

solution given by Cosmic Dan in the thread when changing kernels..no need flash ftf..just mount the card, delete folder called turbo and flash new kernel.1 mnt to do so.

i dont..but its already discussed many times in OP by Cosmic Dan..since he is gone, i find really hard to fix anything..for the moment..but nickoltus maybe take this kernel and make it even better or Dan if he wants to finish his work(he already has work done in kernel 4.0 i think)..but in JB and CM9 based roms work all fine..just stock ICS and GB have some little issues that everybody knows now, and there are some fixes (like you releasing that patch for stock ICS camera, thanks for that) or GB (i find a solution too for camera in GB,just look in MIUI classic r3 GB i put it there..should work on every GB roms in turbo kernel)..way easier to fix somethings in roms than in kernel..a few could do it.:good:

hmmmm.. ok just putting together a organised buglist for when it's ready to be fixed.
To 4th point:
When this happened to me, deleting the turbo folder didnt fix it.
If that happens you need to wipe /cache and /sdcard0/turbo.
No need to flash ftf!
