What happened to bluetooth? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430473
I saw that thread and was wondering what happened to bluetooth considering our devices have the capability, but I don't see any ROMs with it enabled...

It's pretty much well established that Bluetooth on the Kindle Fire will not work. The only way is to use OTG and a Bluetooth dongle.

Is that very complicated? I like my torque app so I can see my engine temperature and stuff in my car since I only have a tach and speedometer, but my phone can only fit one large gauge on it, the fire could fit 6-10.

beep beep, anyone?

Bluetooth dongle works now?

As already stated above, OTG adapter is needed. You can find them at Amazon, and elsewhere.

Without driver support in the OS I don't see how it would work.

Using the kindle fire as a secondary display unit for a smartphone

Is there any way, perhaps using an OTG cable, to make my kindle fire as a secondary display unit for my Android smartphone?
I am using hellfire's cm9 rom.
Thanks!
While I am just a user and no expert, I do not think there is an available video input/output on the USB port of the fire.

360 controller?

I see that the nexus 7 can now support a wireless 360 controller. I know its a combination of OTG with a wireless receiver. Does our phone have OTG support and if so can it use this same method? Currently waiting on the 32GB Nexus 7 but would love to be able to use a 360 controller with my phone to play games with till then.
The s2 natively supports the PS3 controller. If you have the old Xbox 360 wired controller it's easily connected via otg and an app from the market. Just search the app. I'm not sure what wireless technology the Xbox controller uses but if it's Bluetooth I'm certain there is a way to connect it.

Yes simply plug in a otg cable then attach your ps3 controller and you're off! Or download sixaxis controller and change the controller Bluetooth master address and connect wirelessly

+1 for this thread!
According to Wikipedia the wireless 360 controller uses a propriety 2.4 ghz wireless standard. Both the Wii and the ps3 both use Bluetooth sooooo basically a unique form of rf kinda like cordless phones and whatnot......

So looks like you're only able to use the corded one. This makes sense cause my friends WiFi cuts out when playing Xbox.

Can someone please help I really want to know if there is a cable I can buy/make for this?

No, you can't. There are no android tablets out there with HDMI input. If there were you would have needed a costly adapter too. Your best bet is to just use a N64 emulator.
