I have unlocked my bootloader from the Arc whit the testpoint method, using the s1tool, so I don't losing the DRM.
For who want to do this, its only for the Arc, not the Arc S.

But it does unlock a few Xperias.

You can use omnius for the arc s but it will cost some money.

See the first link I gave you.

First link applies only to Arc, not recommended for Arc S.
I am new Arc S owner aswell now, also interested in unlocking via test point method, however I see information that LT18 is not supported by this method. Can someone tell me the real truth?

Bootloader unlock is independent of any firmware on the phone. It is also SEPARATE from SIM/network unlock. Your phone does NOT have to be rooted. SIM unlocking your phone does NOT unlock your bootloader. Flashing your phone does NOT SIM unlock or unlock your bootloader. (However, when you unlock your bootloader with the paid method, the SIM/network unlock is also removed.) SIM/network unlocking is ONCE and PERMANENT and not affected by any firmware.
This works for ANY 2011 Xperia: arc/s, PLAY, neo, neo V, pro, mini, mini pro, ray, active, Live with Walkman.

If S1Tool is from SETool I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I dont know much about it....but you can try flashing a new or the same firmware! Its just a thought! If you dont have backup of your data then do not proceed with this! Wait for some expert to help you! But if you have backed up all your data then there is nothing wrong in flashing!
If i helped you, hit the thanks button!

I know the bootloader is locked.
Anyway
I bought my mobile from amazon.co.uk:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004UK6H6W/ref=oh_o02_s00_i00_details
I tried flashing a new firmware but it didnt do any thing! The lock was still there! So only thing left is we gotta unlock the bootloader...dont worrl we will relock it again! But you will loose track id (can get it back from market/ play store) and the thumbs up stuff for Facebook in music player! I will try to get them back...all of it! So you ready to unlock the boot loader...its the only way from where i see it!

Unlocking the bootloader will do a factory reset (for security purpose ). So this should solve the problem. But if it doesn't...i got other stuff too! Dont worry!

Use the TestPoint method then instead of the Official Method, you'll find all you need at the first link in my sig.
The official method is more reliable and i see better for newbies... I highly recommend you continue with the SONY method... Actually when i was it his lvl, test point confused me...

The TestPoint method is better as you retain DRM, and if a video tutorial is too hard to follow, then yes, perhaps the Official no more reliable or better method is the way to go.

BL unlock allowed:no on unsimlock device?

Hi there,
I got my ZL few weeks ago, It was sim-locked. and it locked to Bell Canada.
I was bought a code from cellunlocker, and successfully unlocked my zl. After that, I tried to unlock the bl, it wasn't working
so, I check the status of BL, it says unlock allowed no, why? I used to have xperia s, the bl unlock allowed says yes after unsimlock, but why zl not?
Anyone got the same situation? Is it any solution on this thing?
Guys, talk about your operator and your device status:laugh:

uhh..this isn't work for me...
My firmware updated last night which is 1.1.A.1.253, I lost root and I have no idea how to degrade to 434 without lost userdata.
I did try flashtool to flash 434 again, but when os is getting start, just pop up a windows says updating NFC blablabla... and it reboot and again , dead loop...
Is that false status will become normal after flash ftf with wipe data?

Did u wipe ur cache when u flash the 434? If i'm not mistaken if u hv bootloader lock do not wipe cache if u flashing rom it may boot loop but I may mistaken about this.
Have u test repair feature in PC companion after that if successfully booted, try degrade ur rom with flashtool without wiping cache but i'm not sure whether u need root to flash ftf using flashtool. Many people in Z successfully downgraded to 434 actually but not sure via what.

I did not, and now I lost my certificade for ever.
So here is a tip, do that backup (TA) it's very easy to do.
