Asphalt 7 question - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Anyone playing the new asphalt game? I noticed the textures on buildings and signs are blurry and very low quality, especially during the opening cut scenes of each race. Asphalt 6 looks much better. Gameplay and controls are better though. Okay for 99 cents but graphics is disappointing, especially after games like dead trigger and shadow gun. Please post your thoughts.

I'm downloading it now to check it out....will report back.

Have you noticed how good Asphalt 7 looks after the last update?

Too bad it runs at sub-30 FPS, which is horrible. It struggles around 20FPS 90% of the time in a race. I'm not sure if I liked it more before the updates when it looked like a N64 game upscaled to 720p (I'm not sure what was up with this game on release, it looked like it ran at a resolution of 320x240 and then upscaled, with textures straight out of the nineties) but ran at a somewhat acceptable framerate, or now that it looks like a supercharged PS2 game with all sorts of crazy effects such as reflections, shining textures, lens flare, blur, but runs at 15FPS.
Also, here's a couple of screenshots I had to delete them because they were resized to hell, and I have no idea where to upload images without having to register. Other than the dithering (which is not even noticeable on the super sharp screen), they look really good and everything is rendered properly and in high res. Guess which screenshot is the one before the update.

Real Racing 3 looks low resolution on nexus

I was playing Fast and furious on my Nexus 7 and the graphics look very good, much better than real racing 3.
On Real Racing 3, it almost looks like the game is not running in HD and low resolution. There are alot of jagged edges all over the car.
I downloaded the app RR3 Graphics form the market, which is supposed to let you forge Extra High graphics, but it doesnt seem to make a difference.
Anyone else notice it seems to be running low resolution?

It looks terrible, and EA claims it's one of their 19 games "optimized for the new N7 display". The RR3 GFX app doesn't allow you to manipulate the resolution or anti-aliasing, which seems to be the problem.
Every device on Android I've used so far Nexus 4, Nexus 7, GS4, and HTC ONE. All have the same problem the graphics look awful. You would think they would have updated it by now. Real Racing 3 is one of the games i've played the most, so im upset about it!
On my iphone 5 and ipad 3 it looks amazing!!!
I was comparing Modern Combat 4 on all my devices and the colors look super washed out!!! Again no issues on iOS devices....
I find it stupid that they can't give the game on android the same treatment as they do on ios.

I notice it too, it looks worse than on my older nexus 7.
Looks decent to me but I guess I haven't seen these games on iOS

I think the common demonitor is the qualcomm chip. All my devices that use QC RR3 looks terrible. On my S4, (octactore version), the GPU is similar to the one used in the Iphone 5 and RR3 looks great.

I was wondering if I had a bad Nexus 7 because it looked like **** lol. On my Kindle Fire Hd it looks so beautiful!

yup i can see it for sure....i guess when you dont have anything to compare to it isn't so bad. I was happy with it until now....thanks a lot
this has to be something on EA's end and having to deal with the higher resolution.
Ate you guys kidding? That game looks amazing on mine!

Try out Fast and Furious on the nexus 7. Thats what RR3 should look like. Very smooth edges, no jaggies.
Then go back and play RR3, it will look like crap by comparison.

The picture quality looks horrible in that screen shot!! Are you saying that it's a from an ipad, and looks superior to the N7 FHD???

Nexus 7
RR3 lags like crap on my N7. Also it looks like crap because there's no smoothing on edges in the game.

Real Racing 3 looks absolutely terrible on the Nexus 7 vs. iPad 4, iPhone 5 and even the iPad Mini. This is a fact, not an illusion.

I'm not sure if you are trolling, but you just have to take a look at the mirrors, sky and ground (you can also look at the hands of the pilot, the inside of the car and the wheel). As the comment above me said, it's a fact that games on Ipad's (any ipad, ipad mini runs rr3 at maxium graphics and has 0 lagg...) perform way better than android. That's because android is a virtual machine over java platform. I owned a nexus 10 and rr3 lagged sometimes too. I don't own an ipad or any apple products (well, just an ipod), and I really prefer android over ios, so don't start a "fight" about that, but I have to admit that ios performance is way better than adroid, talking about games.

REALLY!!?? Yea, I'm trolling, I signed up here years ago just in case there was ever a 7 " Google tablet AND a thread about a game that I had predicted would come out. *rolls eyes* I think you should look up "trolling" on the Urban Dictionary. Putting aside that absurd comment you made, just look at that screen shot in the post I quoted. You can't honestly tell me that it doesn't look horrible. I'm not arguing whether RR3 looks better on Android or not, because I wouldn't waste my money on an ipad or iPhone. RR3 may look amazing on an ipad, I honestly have no idea, and not claiming that I do. Just saying the screen shot I quoted looks horrible, and much MUCH worse than RR3 looks on my N7 FHD...

I havent tried out this game or done this with any game yet, but has anyone attempted to force AA in developer settings like you can in 4.2.x? That might solve your problems for now, granted i dont think RR3 is using WebGL 3.0 but I have the setting on my GNex for WebGL 2.0

1080P Games

Well, lets make a list of games that push the device to its limits. I would love to see a nice high resolution game that really shows off the EXCELLENT display this phone has. I can stare at it all day, so lets put a game in there so I can stare at that:laugh:

Gameloft Games: The Amazing Spiderman, Asphalt,
Both game companies offer HD games that look delicious on our displays

DC Legends and StarWars Galaxy of Heroes

How do these two games run on the Razer phone?
DC Legends
StarWars Galaxy Of Heroes
Do they run as good as they do on iPhone?
I had Note 8 and they ran poor. Frame rate wasn’t smooth. They ran poor on GS8+ too.
Is there Visual voicemail on the phone like with any provider? Or Att?
Is it only GSM? I’d use Att as my provider if no cdma.
Ran both games just now with out game booster at 90hz 0 issues. Will run game booster tommorow and share my results
Thanks. They ran perfectly smooth or something?
If they run good on the Razer, why do you think that is? It’s essentially the same phone as the others I tried except with the screen being faster hz but I’m not sure if that would make a difference.
Smooth no issues, the only difference is clock speed and ram... Guessing those factors played a role, will see if i can screen record and upload the video
These games don’t run good on the Note 8 and the Razer and Note 8 have the same cpu and gpu with the Note 8 at 6gb ram and Razer 8gb. Don’t think the ram would make any difference. Frame rate isn’t that good on the Note 8. It’s decent but I can see jerky game play and menus/screens don’t load as good as I think they should.
My iPhone 6s Plus plays these two games absolutely perfect. Very fast screen loading and very smooth gameplay. My iPhone 8 Plus is even faster with loading etc of course.
I just don’t get it. The over two year old iPhone 6s Plus is perfect yet the Note 8 doesn’t even come close.
I just wonder if the Razer having less or no bloat and the screen makes the difference.
These two games are the only games I play consistently. Then WorldWarfare once in a while.
YT Link Star Wars
DC Legends
The SW video is at 720p(Newb Mistake), the DC one is at FullHD after moving the recorder Settings >.>
Thank you. Was the number shown the frame rate?
That looked like it runs a bit better then my note 8 when I had it but not 100% sure.
Be nice if there was someplace local to test.
Do you like those games at all?

Yeah the Green #s where frame rate, i do like the style of games as you can see in the SW game im lv 20, but im also poor and cant afford micro transactions so i have to grind it out.
Im more oriented into controller supported games like the GTA's. MAX Payne 1, limbo and currently Street Fighter IV on mobile and a TON of Emulators.
Honorable mentions : Need for Speed No limits, Tekken, Mario run and Hitman Sniper.
Is there anyway I could use that screen recorder app on my Moto X Pure? Free? I’d like to see the frame rate of those 2 games on my only android phone.
And is this possible to do on iPhone? See the frame rate?
Just my opinion but it would seem to me that it would be easier to make games run smoothly on an iPhone because of the OS and hardware are designed together. That would make it easier to optimize for. Android is all over the place with OS version and hardware that it runs on. That is just the difference between a closed and open system.

I don’t see a developer options in the du app.
Ok I see. The developer option is in the phone system settings. But which one shows FPS?
Anyone know?

Under monitoring
Thanks. I don’t have that. How can I get that info otherwise?
I wonder why the Moto X Pure doesn’t have that option?
I sold my moto x Pure last night. Now I need an unlocked cdma and gsm phone but don’t know what to get.
So the issue I have with this comparison is your comparing a game quality of play ability for 2 different OS's. They will NEVER be comparable. The programming for one phone vs the other is different. Memory management is different. graphics processing is different. The processor itself runs different because of the load the OS puts onto the system itself. The better part of the comparison is between the Note 8 and the Razer. The answer is probobly a mixture of Ram, screen refresh rates and OS.
I agree with you ^^^^
I just got the Razer Phone today.
It plays DC Legends great. Much better then the s8+ I tried last year and much better then the note 8. No idea why. Maybe ram. But don’t think it’s been optimized for the 120hz screen because I guess if it was you’d be able to tell and it’d be way way smooth. But it was in the couple battles I did close to my iPhones and no android I’ve tried even comes close except the Razer does. It’s nice.
I have not tried Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes. Will tomorrow or tonight.
The ui in the Razer is super smooth and fast. Not even 120hz. Apps open way fast and web pages load super quick.
Best phone speakers by a lot.
Screen is overall really nice but with one major issue. Major to me. It’s viewing angle is terrible. It’s a typical IPS screen. Looks nice but once you’re off center it immediately falls way short. Still ok but I’m just rating it very poor. I’d guess any other high end phone last year to now has a better viewing angle. All iPhones since 6s Plus have a better screen I think.
So a speedy phone is let down buy an ok screen. Clear text etc but poor viewing angle let it down. Enough that if the gs9+ plays my games good I’m getting that instead. But of course their screens are amazing.
I like the Razer a lot except for the screen viewing angle. I lay my phone down on my bed flat while I use it and it’s always slightly above my face so I’m off center.
Take that back. My iPhone 8 Plus has a poor viewing angle too.

TOP 5 games NOTE 10 +

What are your top 5 games that you play on your Note 10+?
Plague Inc
Super Hexagon
Thumper
PinOut (best pinball game on android! imo)
RAID: Shadow Legends
I've been playing:
Call of Duty Mobile
AdventureQuest 3D
Bladebound
Arena of Valor
Rangers of Oblivion
and then of course the PPSSPP emulator with God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hearts, etc (def need an external controller though: https://amzn.to/2kkhmvH)
My all top favorite game is
Archero
Best grinding and challenging game
The elder scrolls legend
Drastic
Mario kart
epsxe
Final fantasy ix
Super Mecha Champions
Zgirls 2
Cyber Hunter
Perfect World
Astral Chronicles
I play my Xbox games on my Note 10+ via the Streaming service, no need for paying double or ad ridden games.
COD
PUBG
mobile games are just that. I'm not sure why publishers are pushing DQ, COD, DeadSpace, FF games on us. If I want those, I'd rather play on the consoles. And did someone say Raid? LOL, how much are they paid for shilling that crap?
When you have to attach an xbox controller, then what's the point? might as well play it on the xbox. Oh, so you're waiting in line at the DMV with an xbox controller attached to the phone? Y tho? are you honing your MLG skills for the next tourney?
my suggestions for the top 5:
1. Any of the Sonic games.
Great for the nostalgia nerds. Easy to understand: go from left to right, collect rings and avoid traps, pitfalls, spikes. Yes, this is basically a console port, which I just *****ed about but the simple graphics and easy controls and simple gameplay makes this an exception to the rule.
2. Skyforce Reloaded or Air Attack 2
Honestly, any smups (shoot'm ups) are great. Simple controls, easy pick up and put away when waiting in line
3. Golf Peaks or Ok Golf or Mini Golf 3D
everyone hates golf, but these games are pretty neat in their own right.
4. Alto's Odyssey or Alto's Adventure or Ski Safari 2 (Ski Safari 2 AT)
great games especially when paired with a headphone. The calming music and simple controls will put you in a relaxed mood, especially when the line doesn't move.
5. Paper Monster or Leo's Fortune or Oddmar
For those who like the platform style of gaming, these games are great. Even today, Leo's Fortune's graphics hold up well.
honorable mention:
Pocket Build or Pocket City or Minecraft or Stardew Valley
good graphics and enjoyable games for those who like to build and miss those SimCity type games. Stardew Valley is fun, it's one of those games where you will pick it up randomly and start playing just about anywhere. Minecraft, no introduction needed.
I tried the FPS games but they are laughable. Controls are convoluted and they don't even support game pads. Besides, even having the biggest phone screen in the industry, it pales to a console hooked up to an 85" screen. I'm not that desperate where I need my COD fix while on in public. I can wait until I get home, relax on the couch and play enjoy the KD on the consoles. you can't really hold your phone and quickly run, aim and toss a grenade at the same time. precision counts when you're going against someone. That's why they took a way the controller support, those with controllers always annihilate those fumbling with onscreen controls.
