General Info:
More information about Firefox OS (B2G) is available here and here. So... I saw this and couldn't resist having a little sneaky play around with it. This is NOT a daily driver. This is NOT stable. It's pre-alpha. If you want something to use as a phone, this isn't it. If you just want to use your phone as a phone, you need android rom.
With that aside, and with the clear understanding that while this won't brick your phone, it's nothing to do with me if it did for some reason, or likewise if your cat (or other cute pet) suffers a painful death as a result of flashing this. At your own risk, like everything else here on XDA-Developers!
So without further ado, WTF is this? Well, it's a project from Mozilla (the lovely people behind the Firefox browser). I won't go into details, suffice to say I suggest you read a lot over at their wiki - start off at https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G and work your way through the pages.
These builds can only be installed with CWM!!!

Really nice work, I was looking at giving this a go myself.

So what doesn't work?
That would make it's easier to determine whether to experiment or not!
Do calls and sms work?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Instalation from twrp or cwr recovery nor work, only fastboot?
Oh, sorry, only fastboot. (((

Oh, the link didnt appears in tapatalk, my bad.

hehe, just tested it out.
Looks pretty awesome, suprised at how fast it boots. Can't wait to see the development for this, looks like it's going well already!

Neat, going to test it out
One massive bug I noticed is that the ROM has no buttons, which makes doing anything difficult, since you can't go back or home

Just to let people know, this will wipe your sdcard folder so take your backup out! ^^

Neato! Can someone post a video of it running on the Gnex?

I will try to fix bugs and will make a new build every weak. Second build will be avaliable as cwm archive without wiping sdcard)
Sorry for by bad english =)

I like this idea, +1.
This is great work though, you guys here on xda are incredible. This is EXACTLY why i got a Nexus.

So anyone create a way to have onscreen buttons yet?
I know theres a lot fo you super talented guys out there

I would like to see a video too, as i'm very curious, but I´m fine with my actual rom

Actually theres a few youtube videos of what it looks like. Not great videos but at least an idea of what it is. Honestly it doesnt look super different from Android. At least as far as the interface goes.

flashed it, testet, wanted to revert ... now my sdcard is formated, alle data gone...

Awesome work, great to have another rom in here. Just a question, what are the scripts and also does this remove your current recovery?

The scripts I'm referring to are the install scripts that tells the device what to do with the files. The rest (which I forgot to remove) probably aren't doing anything yet.
It doesn't remove anything its just like flashing any other ROM in CWM or Rogue.
first thing i noticed after flashing that you get a popup message to choose between setup wizard or deafultactivity, when i chose setup wizard i ended in a select language loop when i choose English us it says just a sec and then back to the same choose language screen, i had to reflash cause i chose setup wizard for default, when i choose deafultactivity it skips the wizard and starts, that's the first thing i encountered, i will keep u posted.
This is build is far more complete than the other ICS build. Video acceleration works properly allowing HD youtube and HD flash video to work properly. I am very impressed with ICS. Even at the stock speed, everything is so fluid in a way that overclocked and tweeked honeycomb could never approach. I can't go back now. Hooked. I'm sure you guys will get everything working before too long.
Do you suggest a full wipe if you are coming from the other ICS rom? If not just wipe cache and dalvick-cache?
Thanks for your work.
Must resist...

Well like I said I compiled it from Google Source and my "Real" name is Mike but don't tell anyone. When you compile it, it ask some questions and as we are both finding out thats were it goes. Should have used Zone23 I guess.
Thanks so much for putting this rom together. Now the xoom feels like its as fast as the specs say. No browser lag and I can't find any lag at this point.
One minor issue I'm noticing is every word I type is showing as not in dictionary.
hi there, i tried the aosp ICS build and i am very excited with the overall system performance.
any SU-related activity crashes in the other build, what about this one ?
Is voice input, Google music and gta4 working ?
kudos to all devs and cookers for bringing the new android revolution to our beloved tabs :-D

Great job! Wifi Xoom from latest Tiamet 2.3.0. Wiped catche and Delvic only. Works great! Had to reboot to set up my Exchange mailbox. Not sure how to set up my pop mail accounts. Spell check going wild. Everything is underlined. Very minor stuff can't wait for Team Tiamet to release the real thing! But this is a great appetizer, will Try to use it as everyday system. Have Nandroids. Is this compatible with the latest Roague Kernals and cwm recovery?
Never mind, pop accounts set up. Calender works great. Web browsing and mail increadibly smooth. I can*t quantify it but has a very smooth feel.
can someone plz confirm how is ZONE version of ICS??
does Tegra graphics & hardware graphical acceleration work properly on this one?
Anyone confirm Netflix is working on this version?

If you are wondering how you can use this software its easy. You can clone my repo for now. and run the CMCompiler script:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/lithid/CMC.git
cd CMC
./CMCompiler
Features:
- Check for repo installation on startup / or create a repo
- Add and remove devices quickly and easily.
- Remove all non english languages.
- Remove live wallpapers
- Remove cm wallpapers
- Check if adb is running or not.
- Update the repo
- Compile cyanogenmod
- Built in color themes. > http://goo.gl/cED8t
- Plugin support. (More information on this to come)
- local config file for saving settings or manually editing them.
- Odex plugin built into the package. This will take your connected cyanogemod installed phone and odex the rom on the phone.
Known Issues:
- There is nothing under the menu option 99. This is a placeholder for information about me and the compiler. If you select it it will just exit you out of the script.
- There is no checking for installed software. You will need to install the needed packages on your own to compile. Check post 2 for needed software.
- I have only tested this with ubuntu 11.04.
- Removing the CM wallpapers from the build only works with gingerbread for now. Everything else is working as expected for me.
- I don't check for open ports on your network, so there might be issues connecting to the repos and syncing. I have not built error checking for that.
Features to come:
- Check for installed tools and tell you which are still needed
- Installer/Remover
- Updated information about CMC and plugin support.
- Pure AOSP via plugin
- Adb installer
- Better error checking support.
- Check for errors during compile and point to places to fix.
- Edit the name of your kanged rom!
- I will also take requests!
Please any issue that should arise, I apologize in advanced. Please let me know with as much detail as possible to replicate the issue and I will resolve it.
You can follow me on google+ I tend to talk about it a bit on there as well.

D710BST i think Im ready to flash a ROM

So here's the deal. I rooted my D710BST (ICS 4.0.4, fl24) with framaroot. I had no custom recovery so i used mobile odin (i don't have a pc) to flash garwynn's custom kernel ( http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=119 ) so i can run agat's cr. Well now i have random power downs and gps failure. I have not been able to play ingress in over a week and its driving me nuts!!!
I just wanted to run this by more knowledgeable individuals. In theroy (until confirmed), since the kernel is a safe kernel, i can jump straight outta ICS. I am wanting to load ProjectX ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320041 ). It requires a clean flash. [q] Since mobile odin can flash from internal SD and i lack computer, can i not move all my pics, vids, personal files (etc...) to my external SD, remove it, then flash clean?
noob alert: everything i have ever done in the root world is in this post
5min between posts?!?!? I just wanna edit this one!!! grr
What gives? Do i need to put "[q]" in the title?
I drive a cab and kinda rely on my gps. I can manage, with just my map; but i miss my navi!
Can you put a custom recovery?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
It is running agat's custom recovery from kernel targeted by first link on op.

More stock stuff? Sheeesh, why am i rooting? This beautiful sounding ROM was developed by your team! Why the discouragement? And, as i said before, i do not have a computer. How come no one will just answer the question? I am a strong person and can take criticism, if that is what i needed. Is your projectX ROM not safe/ideal?!?!? Sorry man, Im just baffled you would discourage use of your own products. Am i missing something? Confused
Sorry for sounding stubborn but, i really wanna try that ROM. Im just saying, if i wanted to stay stock, i would have never researched my way to xda. All the op details were so i can be thorough. The actual question was about the internal (clean) flash. I mean, should i not try your ROM?
If you read the first post in the thread you would see the instructions on how to install... and the first step is upgrading to the official upgrade because this creates the Preload partition, it is a necessary step. Not discouraging you from using Project X at all, I am about to release an update soon. I just want you to be aware of the proper procedure so things don't go wrong. The first post in the Project X thread has all the steps you need along with links to all the files you need.
Oh my god! I am sooo sorry i read that the wrong way! I feel like anass now! My apologies.
Yeah, i read about the partition change from ICS. So, using your link to upgrade and fix partitions would make for a smooth projectX installation? Does that mean i don't have to clean flash, since Im not coming from ICS?

Thank you for all your help. This, in particular, helped me out the most. Without knowing what to expect, I got a bit worried when there was no boot after el29 kernel flash. Limited computer access kinda snailed the process. Once i was up, i had to do the "clear data" on play store and its framework, in order to download anything. I lost your custom store but, I'm running! I am really enjoying all the green! I love the Pandora lock screen and the starry boot animation and the....... I'm sure I'll find tons more, in due time!

Use philZ recovery to install with the GAPPS as well. Also, you' ll need to skip through setup and enable hardware keyboard toggle in language and input to get software keyboard to work. Also you'll need to set mobile network to global and wait a bit for signal to be set up. I recommend the cm spen app from the play store to recognise spen input and it will switch keyboards as well. I used stylus keyboard to write this and it is miles better than Samsung's

Hi,
Have flashed the n8020 version and I must say it looks and feels fantastic.
Only issue is netflix and afl (sport streaming app) are not working. YouTube, Hulu and others seem fine.
I understand this is embryonic, but just wondering if others are experiencing similar and have any solutions?
Thanks for any help
Cheers,
crikey! no footy! I'll look into it (if you're not a pies fan..) ?
Not all apps are 5.1.1 ready though...
Ha, indeed no footy would be sad. No, not a pies supporter but have to live with 2 of them.
Using a bit of Google fu I've found a couple of possible fixes
edit 1: I should add the error for Netflix is - sorry we could not reach the netflix service. please try again later. (-9)
Will let you know if I have any success
edit 2:AFL app sorted - uninstall and reinstall did the trick
Cheers
I have the same netflix error... doh!
@smegg, any common bugs that you noticed so far that can impact normal everyday use? Does it feel better than 4.4?
I love it, nice and stable, very snappy, main bug so far is broken video streaming
Respect for your work, developers!
I tested briefly this rom. It looks great and work very good! Thank you, both!
I saw a bug when i did a phone call: couldn't end the call.
Thank you for this rom!

Since i am supporting a hand full of Devices am i going to handle everything on GitHub to keep the Project centralized and up to date for everyone. Infos and downloads can be gathered over the given Link (Read carefully). XDA is still the place to share and talk about such Projects...
Enjoy!
thx for you hard job .then i wil try it
I tried it, but ran into some problems...
At first I flashed xiaomi.eu_multi_MIMix2_V10.4.2.0.PDECNXM_v10-9.zip and then M.A.R.S.XUAV.19.08.28
Everything looked good, no errors. Then reboot. I can enter SIM PIN but after that, Screen goes on and off. Android Setups pop´s up, 1 step forward and 1 back (and I'm still doing nothing), Screen goes on and off and so on....
ps.: tried it with and without SIM Card... Same behavior.

So i have updated the ReadME and Infos about that. MIUI is a really strange Android Fork and i haven't had the Features working that i think are essential for Me and the Project. That's why i drifted the foucs back to AOSP for now again. I wish i had a Teammate who would make a MIUI Version that lacks of the XUA (Xiaomi Universal AOSP) full feature set, that would mean just to much work for Me right now since i'm already working up to 8Hrs per day on the main Patch... So You flashed XUA which is meant for AOSP. I would recommend You to try Lineage OS or Havoc Official. They run both with the full feature set and without bigger Problems right now (Check GitHub Issues for Bugs).
Hope You will enjoy the expierence! More Updates are coming! BR
Sry, my mistake. Didn't read that ^^
I stay with MIUI because I really like it more than these AOSP Roms.
But I wish you success with this Project. Looks really good.
Greetings from Leipzig
First Users on Discord reported it works on Mi 9 and Mix 2 (Various ROMs). We just had a issue with CPU Loads which will be fixed in V.19.08.29. Everything is super fluid and performing well. Audio is awesome compared to stock or normal AOSP... Really proud of it right now.
I will also move from GitHub to Google Drive and My Homepage since GitHub is problematic in many Views. More Threads for other Devices are coming and i hope the Community will grow fast.
@gitsbash No Problem! You're welcome to give it a try at any time!

Since i am supporting a hand full of Devices am i going to handle everything on GitHub to keep the Project centralized and up to date for everyone. Infos and downloads can be gathered over the given Link (Read carefully). XDA is still the place to share and talk about such Projects...

You're obviously a Troll. Keep Your Spam for outside of XDA!
If You want Help , ask another Way...
Yeah right. That's the easiest thing to do because you can't explain how MARS really helps. You throw around too much jargon on what you have done and how it'ssupposed to work. But you have a hard time explaining why we need a software that takes more memory than our ROM to make it fast. Counter-intuitive. What does it actually do?

Maybe take a look at the script and the zip content? It is always easier to blatantly accuse people. It is clear that you are a troll. If it didnt work for you, then you made a mistake as it works for me and other people.
And he explained it already in github page. So stop being a malware.
