[Q] Any way to Turn off Smart Alarm by DEFAULT? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok while I applaud Samsung for providing an option to help people wake up... I do not need a #$#@ "Fairy Fountain" alarm playing every time I set an alarm.
I use my alarms for all sorts of things, none of which include waking up.
While I can manually turn off that stupid "Smart Alarm" feature... is there any way to make it turn off PERMANENTLY.
The reason I need this, is I have several 3rd party apps which insert alarms into my phone... but since the Smart Alarm is not standard android API, they have no way to disable it and every alarm wakes up my phone 3 min prior to needing the actual alarm, and I get this stupid water trickling, forest nymph loving sound spiting out from my phone. It's quite annoying.
Please tell me there is either a simple way to disable the "Smart Alarm" feature entirely, or if someone knows which files to edit either in the alarm apk somewhere, features.xml or anywhere.. I'm pretty good at editing my own apks if I know where to look.

How can stop reminder from waking the phone?

I can make the SMS stop waking the phone via advanced config that is stock on my current ROM.
I want to keep my phone from coming out of sleep mode when I get a reminder. When it is in my pocket, I do not want it to wake up untill I take it out and push the button.
Thank you,
Jeff
Ditto. Me too.
anyone found a solution ?
I'm a bit confused about what's being asked... it sounds like you're saying you don't want a reminded to remind you... you just want it to tell you that you missed it when you check your phone two hours after your appointment. Would you also, perhaps, like an alarm clock that doesn't make any noise when the alarm goes off?
it should not wake the device, as in "turn on the display, and react to touch" , so it goes bananas in the pocket.
It should play a sound, and/or vibrate and/or flash light - as configured in notifications.
- just don't activate the display...
in other words; same as with new SMS or Email notification..
Me too.
I have the same issue. I have my phone synched with my work computer (outlook). I would like the reminders to appear on the computer only.

stupid silent mode!

MOD EDIT I edited the title. Some of the words were not needed to convey your meaning @gregbradley
This has been up around before, i have searched and not found an answer.
Someone had the bright idea that "Do Not Disturb" puts the Alarm out of business. A Genius idea, since 95% of the world use "Do not disturb" when they sleep.
I am a very light sleeper. I am currently faced with the most annoying problem ever, and due to waking up 15times a night, i am getting beyond adjudicated due to lack of a good nights sleep. You guessed it, i wake up from the vibration!
The LG G3. Turn it all the way, and you get Virbate, Alarm still works.
Do not disturb, no vibrate, ahh nice, but now no Alarm.
I came from a G2, where i could pick Vibrate of full silent with only Alarm working. THIS IS THE F'ing feature thats missing, and i am fully aware that this is a know issue for most G3 users.
Who the heck came up with this stupid idea, and how can get to a point where my phone is dead silent but the ONLY sound that MUST work is from the Alarm?!
Is there a work around, is there an app i can use, anything, please help me get some SLEEP!
I agree that the only days I missed school is because of this Do not disturb feature I use when I'm busy and.... I miss my alarm!
But missing work is just not an option for me.
This is a situation of doomed if you and doomed if dont, and i dont want to be put in that position by my freaking phone!

If i could, i would. But you cant. when the phone is on vinrate only.
I found a way to work around this now, but its beyond stupid.
Honestly, its like a woman did this. No logic and damn complicated.

Settings --> Sound --> Notifications --> Do Not Disturb --> Schedule -- Set the times and days you do not want to be interrupted, set the end time to be a few minutes before your alarm is due to go off, remember you need to start it from the night before, so if you work Monday to Friday you need to choose Sunday to Thursday, assuming that you go to sleep before midnight that is.
You can now leave your phone on normal volume, do not need to to mute or set to vibrate only.
Use priority mode, I had the same issue as you until I figured out how to use priority mode and keep it completely silent.
sound - notifications - do not disturb - make sure calendar events are ticked...
after wards go to home screen, set to DND and press volume down once you will get "
Do not disturn
1. on Priority Off
Select priority and presto! eveything else but calendar events (alarms) will be silent.

Alarm and timer functionality

I am looking to get Huawei watch. The app that I would use the most is alarm and timer functionality since I work at home and would like to see timer countdowns for my breaks and lunches .
Is it possible with the native app timer to have multiple timers set up and choose the one I want accordingly? like 15 mins and 30 mins one so I don't have to set it everytime.
Also with alarms can I have multiple ones?
When an alarm or timer is up does it beep or vibrate?
If I start a countdown timer does it show it in ambient mode in numerical format not watch face?
Would appreciate if you can post pics. Thanks.
I see no one has replied yet. I think I would suggest you look at Android Wear apps and see if something will meet your needs. I find the Alarm function with the watch to be pretty limiting. I downloaded an Alarm and Timer application, but really haven't used it yet. I don't think you can have multiple timers set up on the native app, and I don't think even the one I downloaded has that capability. I think you can have multiple alarms, but there in no functional speaker on the watch (or any Android Wear watch), as I understand it, Android Wear does not yet support a speaker. Need an Apple watch for that..

Whats This ?

I just upgraded to pie and have this permanent Alarm reminder in the pull down menu,
its driving me nuts trying to figure it out
This might seem too basic but have you actually tried to go into Clock app and disable or delete all alarms and then reboot your phone?
Yes tried that , been looking for an answer a while now and not finding anything , its an odd alarm to
00.30 , who sets an alarm for that time lol
Wish I could delete this thread now , but found out it was Tasker.
But for anyone else
Its an alarm that helps prevent Tasker being killed by system to save power

NOTE 10+ phone starting delay after reboot

Good morning,
Searched the forum and google, but couldn't really find anything. I use my phone as my alarm clock, and also reboot my phone at 3am twice a week using Device Care. Unless I wake up after it reboots and swipe it open, the phone doesn't fully restart and my alarm doesn't go off. Anyone found a solution?
I use Timely as my alarm, but I believe the system clock does the same thing. TIA!!

Correct. According to the internet, Samsung removed that setting.... and oversleeping isnt favorable to my boss lol
I think you would have to disable "Strong protection" (search settings to find it) but that will also unencrypt your device. Alarms, calls and messages should still work after rebooting even with this setting on so you might want to test the native clock app's alarms to see if that works for you.

I've searched for that and there is no setting, but you are correct about the native clock apps alarm. It does work before you unlock the phone. Thanks!!!
Guys i use for years (OnePlus phones) alarm to wake up to go to work. Phone it's OFF at night. Before alarm starts the phone turns ON.
Example:
- alarm set to 05.30 am.
- phone turns ON at 05.29, then when it reaches 05.30 alarm sounds.
With Note 10+ 5g (SnapDragon 855), no root, it's not possible... Is there any trick or another clock app?
