Hi everyone,
I was wondering, with regard to the LT15i, is it possible to assign a different purpose to any of the 3 keys along the bottom?
with the advent of on screen button mods I can still get the 'back' 'home' and 'menu' options on the screen and thought it would be wonderful if I could have on screen buttons and then assign the 3 physical keys to do something else.
maybe assign apps to each one?
If its not possible, and you know why, please try to explain why rather than just saying 'no' as im really interested in trying to learn here rather than just asking random questions

BTW the app has been taken off the play store but the apk can be found by some googling

I already posted a thread on this. As it's my only real gripe with this phone. However there seems no solution YET. Someone suggested flyscreen but that was a full lockscreen replacement. Not what i wanted.

Actually there is 3 threads on this now haha. No problem they are all called something different. I think this feature will be a major demand in a custom rom which isn't too far away
Hi there, just curious if this can be done on the SGS. It would really come in handy when the phone is in the pocket, just hit the volume rocker or SHAKE the phone to skip a track. That's awesome isn't it. Any app that can do that?
There is an app called Shake2PlayNext in the market for free, as well as others.. I tried it once but it's too difficult to calibrate when you walk with you phone in your pocket..
I don't know if the same could be done for the volume keys, I think you need a mod for that. I could be interesting though

cyagen does it with volume buttons. Probably the biggest reason why I cant wait for it =)

Does anyone know how to remap the Search hardware key so that when it is pressed the recent apps pop up instead? I have searched, but all of the "fixes" I have found have either not done anything or been phone specific. An easy to follow guide would be a big help and surely someone else is curious too. A flashable zip rewards you extra points.
P.S. I am on AOKP build 36 and the flashable zip I have seen floating around does not work for our phone.

It does but it takes too long and makes me not want to multitask like that... Who honestly ever uses the search button?

Not trying to be rude or condescending or anything like that, but out of true curiosity, in what context do you use it the most? I'm curious that I might be missing out in how useful it potentially may be. Thanks for your insight.

any app can work on my case?
there used to be an app called Button Remapper for rooted devices but now the Dev has stopped support for JB it was only till GB so need to look around if there is any such app try in play store see if you could find

Thank for your support. I search my concerns by google, many people meet the same problem, and so far there is no any solution. anyway I can try to answer in-call by shaking fuction. better than nothing.
I appreciate that someone share with us how to answer incall when using flipcover in note 2. so far I know answer call by touching home key and touching screen.

since I can't ask in the ROM-Thread (fewer than 10 posts), I'll open this one.
1. Is there a way to disable vibrating when using the four soft buttons?
2. Can I change the "whole-screen-recent-apps-list" to the AOSP one? In the AOSP list I can select other apps to close without scrolling (it just has to be on the screen).
3. I'm using Tasker to enable airplane mode when connecting to a power cord and disabling airplane mode when the cord is plugged out. This worked 100% on stock 2.3. But with the Viper ROM it just works about every third time. Does anyone have a clue how this comes?

PS: This is a great ROM and the first one which really replaced stock 2.3 for me Thanks to the developer team!

I'm sorry i do not work for you. :angel:
But i think this is best asked in the ROM thread. As i saw you were using ViperDHD rom go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960734&highlight=viper
As your problems are not general DHD problems but might be ROM problems.
And btw "searching everywhere else" for some just means asking a friend. But it can also be someone has devoted 72 hours of googling and sifting trough XDA, we just dont know.
But i do hope you can get some answers, I would've searched for you but at the moment im working on something myself. (Figuring out howto chage the status bar to my liking. )
