How do you put widgets on screen like calender, locations ect like Sense - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Love this phone. However I am so used to HTC and like to have a full calender on one page, locations on another and music on another . Is this not possible on all these blank screens? I long touch screen and no option for widgets comes up.

Long press on a widget in the widget drawer to drag it onto the screen

also check out Beautiful Widgets or HD Widgets in the Google Play Store... their not free, but only a couple bucks..
cheers

Another good widget app is Make Your Clock if you like to design your own. In the following screenshot, the analog clock and the top three widgets on the left were made with MYC.

collection skin thread, don't forget to thank the OP

Wow so many answers and none what OP asked. Lol. ( Alex did actually.)
You don't get widgets like that on android 4.0 +. You go to app drawer and than get to the widgets, swype to get them or press the tab named widget.
Also you won't find a full calendar widget on stock android, you have to install third Party app/widget.

Download APW Widget:

OR!!!
Wizz widget:

Here is ZPlayer for a full screen music widget:

Looking for a particular clock widget.

Hello- Let me start by saying hello and cheers to everyone here for posting tutorials and links to your great mod work. I am an Android noob but learning.
Anyway, I am looking for a digital clock widget that the user can place anywhere on the homescreen he chooses.
Does anyone know if anything like this is available ??
Cheers for any help.
Thank You, LL-
D-clock widget is a nice one, it has no weather only the clock. But if you want weather too look out for beautiful widget, weather and toggle widget or fancy widget. Thise are the ones i have used and they work fine.
Try ( clockr )
looks beautiful and can be placed any where i guess
Cheers for the help guys.
I have also figured something out which was probably known to most anyway, if you press your finger on any widget clock just wait till the delete trash can pops up and you can drag and drop any clock anywhere on the homescreen.

Cheers, LL-
Clockr is very nice but very unstable right now (occasionally stops updating the time, or FCing.) Thus it has been taken off the market. Hopefully it should be fixed soon.
try beautiful widgets there is a reason it is one of the most popular pay apps, it has clocks and weather.
there are literally hundreds of different clocks.
Beautiful widgets does not have a standalone clock only widget.
I just tried d-clock widget, it is indeed very nice and slick.
Try Digital Clock Widget by Maize.
It's free, has a basic digital clock with the date
It looks like this........

What is the Clock/Weather widget? im looking for it on market for like 10min's and cannot find it.
this is a htc sense widget and i don't think you can use it on a non sense rom.
Use fancy widgets, It's available here:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/fancy-widget/com.anddoes.fancywidget
Ignore the screenshot - once you have installed it, go into its settings and choose to download more skins for it - download the H7C clock skin (usually at the bottom of the list) and this will look just6 like the sense clock.
This is what I use and it's great
wildcardspv: I got the Fancy Widget, i have installed H7C skins for both clock and weather, but i have troubles setting it up.
On the skin browser it looks awesome, but when im trying to add in on home screen i can put Clock/Weather only separately with 4:1 rows, and it looks nowhere similiar to the skin...
What am i doing wrong?
Tap and hold on homescreen and choose add widget, then choose fancy widget, then fancy home. This should add the clock with the weather built in, like the sense clock.
Sometimes it sticks on 'loading widget' at this point so if it does just drag it to the trash can and add it again, it'll be ok the second time.

Check it yourself, it is supposed to be H7C skin...

Nevermind i just had to change Clock style, and it looks way better now thanks!
Last question, is it possible to turn on an Card Clock animation when a minute/hour change like in Sense? It was kinda cool.
Erm, no.
I don't think any of these clock 'apps' do that - there have been threads about it before.
Glad you got this working though, enjoy!!

[Q] Weather widget like Sense 3.0?

Is there a weather widget that gives information like the one in Sense 3.0, ie. shows also hour-by-hour detailed weather information (or at least for morning, afternoon, evening and night)?
Some eye-candy would be welcome, but I'll probably use it along the stock Sense widget, so it's not really necessary.
May I suggest Beautiful Widgets?
I desired the same thing as you (the HTC Clock Widget) and the closest I've found to such a widget is Beautiful widgets
You can download skins for it and do all sorts of wacky nonsense with it.

I have mine set up the same way as the top widget on the above image
I also wanted to keep this widget and I found Sense Analog Clock Widget.
Alot of skins and imo it looks very similiar
Edit: Just came across this thread here
You might wanna check out Fancy Widget
this is themes and apps not Q&A!
Go to the market and download weather & toggle widget. Then download h7c clock skin. It look just like the htc clock

I'm kind of fond of Fancy Widget (v1.3.0), as it looks just like the sense clock. I've set it to launch the WeatherEye app (you can set it to launch your favorite weather app) when I tap the weather graphic. Not quite the same as Sense3 weather app, but I gives a heck of a lot more, and accurate, weather info.
try 'go weather' it has not many skins but they have the htc style widget and its own weather app with cool animations and lots of info

So far I've only tried it on ICS+ based roms and on the following devices: GSII, GSIII, GNexus and Tmo Note II. Worked on all.
Oh man if only this (circles widget) worked with Apex launcher. That would be fantastic. Tested on JB it is working but only with the Moto Launcher, which I really don't care for. Anybody know how to "fix" the circles widget to work on other launchers?
Sorry only way to get a widget similar to this one is to download the "One More Clock Widget Free" or the paid app in the playstore and choose the chrome circle clock skin.

Awesome thanks. That'll do.

Themes / Apps / Mods Post your homescreen setup / screenshot.

Lets start a thread for home screen setups! It's always so inspiring to see how many different ways people customize their phones.
I downloaded this app called Palette by Sam Beckman. Check out from the link in he's name how he applies all the customizations.
It's a great app to get inspired and ultimately customize your phone.
Here is my setup atm.
It's a modified version of the "Creamy blends" setup in Palette app. All the details of that setup is in the app. I combined it with the GLO icon pack.

No matter how many times I customize the homescreen, I always come back to this version. Black wallpaper should help with burn in issues, and it's very easy on the eyes at night. Minimal icons on the desktop that take me to my often used apps, and that's about it. ) Nova launcher helped me shape the icons.
Stock launcher, you icons using Shortcut maker, Kwgt with Shadow kwgt widget pack.
