Need Urgent Help

Need help with my Htc Wildfire S CDMA marvel.
I unlocked hboot
it says s off but it also has locked oow on the top.
Rooting does not work so i need to know how to root it
Anybody now how to fix this and root it?

You need to unlock bootloader from htcdev then you will be able to root.

he has s-off , no need for unlocked bootloader ! just run root from superoneclick found at here ... you'll guide yourself after downloading the file believe me ! It is the easiest rooting tool i ever seen !

Must be some kind of problem if he's s-off and it says locked oow.
Just double check in your bootloader and confirm if it says s-off or s-on.
If your s-off as I am then it should not say anything about locked or unlocked.

It looks like you successfully updated the bootloader [*** LOCKED (OOW) ***] but didn't finish the procedure at htcdev to get it unlocked. But in any case, it should root because you have S-OFF already.

And yes and it is s off

have you tried zergrush, too?
Another theory would be, that the locked bootloader "overwrites" the S-OFF behavior somehow. You have 2 choices.
1) flash a hboot 1.08.0000 or whichever you want that is not from htcdev
or
2) finish the htcdev process and get your bootloader unlocked.

Hello i'm the person vinnyt is talking about, that is having the problem with rooting the HTC Wildfire S, it is a marvelc cdma phone from Metro pcs (USA service). I first used HTC Wildfire S - Unlocking Bootloader by Mstechify on youtube and i did this like the 2nd day i had my wildfire s and the first time i had an htc, so i had no idea about htc dev at the time, but anyway i did this method and i followed all the steps until the end when the program tells you to press any button to reboot, what i did was unplugged the phone but i noticed i was not rooted so i went to the the boot loader and noticed it said locked oow and it said s off so i tried almost all the root methods and tried to use htc dev, and htc dev just tells me that its the wrong RUU program so i don't know. Guys please help me all I want to do is temp. root to remove bloatware please help. thanks.

Did you tried out the the HTCDev.com Process.
HTCDEV.COM --> Choose Model --> Update HBOOT --> Now says "Locked OOW"
---> then Get the Token as directed by the HTC DEV.Com --> paste the token in textbox in htcdev.com ---> you got "unlock_token.bn" --> flash that using "fastboot" --> you got as "*** UNLOCKED *** ",
I hope that there is Nothing bother about S ON or Soff., My device is S-ON but Hboot is in "Unlocked" state, I already Flashed out Custom ROMS . Try out that

if you are s-off use simonsimons utility to unlock your bootloader and fastboot flash a custom recovery, then flash the superuser zip for full root

[Q] Can't seem to unlock S-OFF

Hi there,
I have a One X with S-OFF, which says ***LOCKED*** in fastboot. When I try to flash a recovery or a boot.img via fastboot command line, I get an error saying FAILED:remote not allowed. I presume this is caused by the bootloader being locked. But then, since I have S-OFF, i should be able to simply unlock and re-lock without too much hassle by using fastboot oem unlock. However, this doesn't seem to work, I get the following error:
C:\Flashing>fastboot oem unlock
...
(bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!!

It's really locked, because when I try fastboot oem lock it says "device was already locked!"
Does anyone have an idea what is causing this, and why I can't simply unlock the bootloader?

You need, however, unlock your bootloader with htc dev..

Why would I need to do that? That's the whole use of my S-OFF without HTCDev: so that HTC doesn't know I have it.

I always see HOX with s-off but locked, and for rooting this you have to unlock your bootloader with htcdev..
I don't know why, but htc don't know that you have s-off if you will unlock your bootloader...

Sounds weird indeed. Unlocking of the bootloader should really not be necessary when having a S-OFF phone.
Could you post a picture of your phone in HBOOT screen?

HTC don't know you have unlocked because when you relock the bootloader. It will change back to locked instead of relocked

I am s off and I had to unlock my bootloader via htcdev before I could do anything.
Next time I lock it again I will check to see if it says re locked or locked. Never noticed.
If your concerned about it i will go through the locking and unlocking again to check when I get 5.

Ok so i ran fastboot oem lock on my htcdev unlocked bootloader on my s off one x and it now says relocked.
So unless there is some other command I can run to make it say locked only then it is apparent to anyone that looks that its been re locked just like an s on device.

For Lock and not Relock our device, we need a patch in the partition when there are the line for the write.
In a qualcomm device is simple and dev made s-off and relock with "lock" line.
In our Tegra 3 device is "impossible" at the moment, and nobody, that i know, can make s-off for all...

On our HOX, no.
In One XL i think is possible...

there is definitely a way because I have an s-off with super cid , refurbished.bought it here in China, and to tell you the truth us guys would never know till the underground Chinese shops leak it. they even have a way to s-off and lock!. not talking about relock...but I guess we would never know

Is there any way to unlock the bootloader with HTC DEV plz tell me. I read about a software named Simon's unlock utility but i cant find it online..... can any one give my a link to this or anyb other software like this. OR does anyone know a way to unlock bootloader or flash Hboot without unlock... plz tell me guys...

Hello sir. My device. Htc m9. My device already s-off...... on the boot loader screen how to s-on. & how to boot loader unlock plz sir help

You dont ever need to set s-on and you never need to lock or relock the bootloader. If your bootloader says locked or relocked and you want to unlock it then go to htcdev and follow the online instructions for unlocking the bootloader. You MUST use htcdev as that website will email you a key to flash via fastboot. You need htc_fastboot.exe too.

How to Unlock a Relocked bootloader of HTC One E9 S-OFF

Hi
I managed to "Relock" my Unlocked bootloader of HTC One e9 (please don't ask why ) The phone is S-OFF, rooted with fully working TWRP recovery. How can I unlock the phone again.
I've tried the following with no success :
- command "fastboot oem unlock"
-to flash the Unlock.bin again
-the method from this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708571
Do you have any other ideas?

hmm... What about trying to unlock it in the RUU?

I just relocked my phone then unlocked it again with the same Unlock_code.bin and the same instructions from htcdev unlock instruction page 4 in download mode. So yeah, it works.
My phone is S-ON though, but I doubt that it matters.
