Hd7 vs g2.

Hey well someone want to trade his hd7 for my g2 do you guys think its a good trade???

the HD7's battery is not as ****ty as the media makes it out to be. I have an HD7 and it lasts just as long as my G2's. It's all about how you use your phone. Obviously if you sit there and dink around on it for no reason then the battery will drain. I get 18+ hours on both devices which is much more than I need. I say if you want to get an HD7, don't let anything stop you. It's a great phone.

You obviously dont know enough about either of the phones, or care about the android software.

It really depends. The whole thing about windows 7 is to be simple, and get things done fast. In my opinion, take the fun out of a beautifully crafted phone. everything is pretty on there, but it depends what you're into. If you want to root, and hack away at the phone then go and check out the hd7 forums to find out more. the G2 runs android obviously and can be greatly custimized in many ways. Even without root, there is so much to do. let me ask you this, what phone did you have before you got the G2?

it was good but then i just wanna try something new but what im worrying is that wp7 doesnt have that much apps.

The windows market has like 7500 apps compared to android 3mill or something like that to lazy to search it but yah and most the apps are paid on windows.

Find a US spec HD2. you can have the best of the HD7 by being able to run WP7 on it. and or switching to android. I have Both. An HD2 that runs and is recognized as an HD7, fully activated through Microsoft. And a new G2 that of course i could not leave stock for more than an hour. bottom line both are great phones. each serves its purpose. you will love or hate WP7. But With the HD2 you wont be stuck with it should u want android back. My G2 is my daily phone, and My HD2.7 is now a house, back up to my wife's modded HD2.7

I had the hd7 and although the functionability of the OS was nice, user customability is horrible. The battery was too.
If you want too try it by all means go ahead. Just know that the value of the hd7 is not desirable as the g2.

There's definitely not that many android apps in the market...not saying there isn't going to be at some point..but that number is wrong. Haha.

Iphone has so much more apps. And much more user friendly. And the processor is incredble. I'm not trying to hate android but I'm just giving my opinion.

i planned to leave blackberry for the hd7 phone, i had no intrest in the g2, after falling in love with the hd7, i was ready to give tmo $200, then they told me the g2 would be free, i got it and never looked back at hd7 or blackberry.

WP7 on Android?

Is there or will there be a WP7 rom for Android devices? Been checking some videos on WP7 and although it does seem a bit boring to me I'm also very curious about it. Just thought I'd ask around about and if anyone has any thoughts on WP7. Is it good?

My understanding (not being a developer) is that porting Windows Phone 7 to other platforms would be extremely difficult. Its closed source, so MS does not make the source code available, making it very difficult to port. Its not impossible, but would be an enormous amount of work to get it running on an Android phone like the G2. And to this point, developers have not been interested in taking on such a project.

Theres an app called launcher 7 on the market which makes ur phone look like windows phone 7

Short answer: no.
Long answer: Buy a WP7 phone.

Yea I know but its not even close to a full experience. As expected being it is a launcher. I downloaded it and uninstalled it all within one minute. Lol

Well don't want to just jump to a whole other phone without testing it. Lol. I like Android too much to just jump ship completely. A WP7 rom would be nice but as stated above it would be tough to do and apparently not too many ppl asked for it.. Now all I can hope for is a Nexus Prime on T-Mobile. If T-Mobile doesn't receive the Nexus Prime then I am completely stuck on which phone I want next. Love my G2 but am getting a bit bored of it.

Well no one is really asking for it because if you want WP7 that bad then they just get a WP7 device. Not to mention that it would be extremely hard to do this.
Try one out. If you dont like it, then return it

I hope I didn't sound like I wanted a WP7 phone I was just curious about the OS. It seemed a bit boring but the fact that its new and original makes me want to give it a shot.. I don't see myself ever leaving Android. Android has sucked me in. Lol. Just Curious. But still stuck on what phone to get for T-Mobile. Thinking about the Hercules(badass phone) but if I get that and the Nexus Prime winds up coming to T-Mobile I'm going to go on a shooting rampage....... In GTA. Great frustation reliever. Lol. J/k

Get the stock EI22 Tar and remove bloatware but keep TW they wouldn't notice the difference.
Hell i can make my epic be right now look stock if i truly wanted to even being on CM7.

Faster for what? Web? The UIs are completely different. Just get an insane fast launcher on CM7 with all non-needed apps removed (no gapps) and over clock the CPU to 1500 ghz and the gpu to 300mhZ

Not on my phone. For some reason CM7 is slow as molasses. Maybe my phone can't live without TW...lol.

Exactly But how do they think that we lose our phones because then how are they supposed to activate that phone under account with pushing the 2 years im so confused on that part. and the UI is so different the damn WP7 phones are a screen with blocks ; oooh so great looking almost like 8-bit haha. I guarantee their roms are like what 20 mb's haha they have nothing compared to android.
And if they do a speed test like quadrant forget it they lost haha.
I could downgrade to Froyo and use Old Goodies and get over 4000 on Quadrant. LOL they wouldn't know what hit them

its an win-win. if the epic is faster, you get 100$ if you "lose" you get an new phone. you can play with the new phone for an few months and sell it later. the value of that phone should be alot higher then epic. there is no losing.
@ XxLostSoulxX: i would think you activate the @ CES and then they recycle your phone.
it doesnt say what the test are but sure ms figured that they will lose few 1000s but win when more ppl are using these phones. cuz you may like it after using it.

no1 want an crappy iphone. and but they did lose the iphone 4s and 2 unnamed phones. it was the best and cheapest way to upgrade to new phone and till have you sprint upgrade in your pocket. the result 3-30. im sure i could have deal with wp7 till samsprint's Galaxy s3 came 6months later.

Oh common, seriously? Your telling me the iphone is garbage? Overall, its butter smooth on all the apps and everything else. Kickarse and you know it. Closed source is its flaw.

Really cuz I know a lot of people with iphones and none of them lik them.... the epic is a way better phone and all my iphone friends think so too... now they serioously regret buying that p.o.s! Have you ever used one for more than 10 minutes in a store... I'm thinking no cuz if you had you wouldn't be saying that... they are garbage!

Iphone Is like MIUI, but closed source. It's a nice OS, it's up to the consumer to decide what OS suits you. If you want something that "just works" go for an iphone, if you're all about customizing and making your phone yours, go for Android.

hmmm, that solves it for me, I'm running Ti. Backup on my CM7 b/c i want to try the MIUI, but since it's like the iPhone, i think i'll pass and go try the Marcusant Rom... #WIN
update: I flashed MIUI anyway... it's growing on me. The dev did an incredible job on this ROM. I think i'll have this one for a hot minute, then give Marcusant Rom a whirl! I'm sure after i get my fill, there will be some monster updates, like CM9 on the horizon. #newWIN

This Phone Really Does Suck!!!!

im really starting to not like this phone its terrible for games i downloaded N.O.V.A 3...... doesn't work, Tiger Woods......... doesn't work cant wait to get a new phone i dislike it so much im going to bite the bullet and get another phone of contract any suggestions to which one i should get

Is your phone rooted? Every review of the Tiger Woods game I've read so far says that it may not work on rooted devices.

for 1 noones talking about N.O.V.A 2 get up to date, i have 2 consoles and a beast of a pc some people work 12 hour shifts everyday where you cant bring a console to work or a pc

my buddy has a GN and both those games work perfectly on it i also have a friend who has the Att Gs2 and they work perfectly on his

I think that's your problem. I know there are many games that don't work on AOSP because the drivers aren't fully functional or optimized.

Just a quick observation here.
This is a forum made up of people that enjoy their epic 4g touch. When you start a thread called "This phone really does suck!!!!" You might not get a lot of help. Now put your phone down and go outside and play!

The huge problem with nothing ever being good enough is you'll never be happy. Take your phone for what it is instead playing the "find some flaws" game with yourself...there is no perfect phone (if there was, there would only be one phone), if you get a new phone you'll find something about it to complain about just like your current phone...
take your phone for what it is and enjoy it/be happy with it.

with all due respect no one ever said anything about it not being good enough the only thing im dissapointed in is games

yea n.o.v.a 3 works fine on the e4gt was playing it last night, some lag every once in awhile but nothing big, don't know bout tiger woods, not a golf gamer so never downloaded

All games work perfectly on this phone for me.. I love the GPU in this phone!

Is the one v great or a fail..?

I'm long time HTC user. Always had top end devices. Now looking for cheaper phone for staff.
I see lots of people have problems with one V dying from wrong button pushing.
Is it worth buying? Or should I look elsewhere.

It is a great phone indeed. And the community here on xda looks even greater. Good support, good devs, a plethora of rom's to choose from, Jellybean, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, etc...
At this price range, the One V kicks ass. Has a very beautiful display, a great camera, great battery (on stock at least) and a solid body.
take the plunge and buy one v!

There are better phones, personally i like the HTC ONE V(cdma) but there are better phones if you chose not to go with VM.

For the price, it is a really great, well made phone. Love the aluminum body, and the battery life is great. Sense is sluggish on the single core professor, but a pure jellybean ROM fixes that. Not sure what you are referring to with one button breaking the phone unless your talking about pressing up instead of down when booting into hboot. Not really a deal maker for me, I just don't press up when going into hboot

This device is great for me. Mid-priced, a great camera and had a great variety of ROMs to choose. And the most important thing: DEVs on XDA of the One V is GREAT!

I picked up a mint 2nd hand sensation for the same price as a new One V.
it's my 3rd sensation and i know it will be a better fit for my staff member.

Yeah that QHSUSB_DLOAD bug is very annoying. I got it even spontaneously (my phone just crashed while I was playing a game, then it was bricked)
But I heard that issue is fixed in the newer boards.

when I had the stock Rom it was ... so so.. more towards the -ve side.. but with CM9 is amazingly good.
So with Stockrom its #fail.... with CM9 its #great

I won't say its a fail with stock/Sense ROM, but with CM it's better indeed

beauty is in the eye of the beholder! actually for me, the stock rom was too sluggish and I was thinking of dumping the phone.. however when I moved to CM9 it was like night and day.and I love it..
