[REVIEW] Incipio Silicrylic DualPro Hard Shell Case with Silicone Core - Galaxy S III Accessories

Picked up the Incipio Silicrylic at Verizon a wile ago and have been extremely happy with the case. It is pebble blue which was a bonus. Here is the run down...
Pros:
Good balance of protection and usability
Doesn't add much bulk at all
Silicone core provides just enough grip
Doesn't pick up signifigant lint in my pocket. This could vary as others have noted. What I've noticed is that as the silicone ages, it is less sticky and more smooth.
Cons:
Can't get the pebble blue anywhere online that I have seen ... Other than Verizon.
Pricey @ $30. 25% discount at VZ helps if you have it.
White label VZ version does not include screen protector. The one put in by the rep at VZ has been great but a case this expensive should ship with one. The fully branded version does.
Not really a con but the stand it comes with is meh. Although a built in stand would degrade the case for sure.
I do recommend this case overall... Incipio Product Page

I went from a otterbox defender to the incipio with a screen protector and found that this combination adds enough protection while adding little bulk to the phone.

I have this case and it's awesome, buttons feel incredible. I would have preferred a screen protector over a crappy stand.

I have the same case in a different color, the lighter blue which I like better (personal preference). The case offers plenty of protection. I already dropped it on concrete once from waste height. It landed face down and not a single mark on the phone.

According to video reviews on Youtube this case does come with a screen protector. Perhaps just the Verizon variant?

yeah i loved this case as well i got the white one but when the defender came out, i exchanged it. idk i love the defender better.. btw, GO MADRID!

Faxion or Silicrylic?
Anyone had a chance to compare this (Silicrylic DualPro) with the Incipio Faxion case?
Thanks.

I have this case in black. It's fantastic overall, and I mostly agree with your PROs and CONS except for a few.
I have found that the silicone core does in fact pick up lint in your pocket. It can get rather annoying to clean off since it sticks so well but not a deal killer for me.
Also the silicone core is "loose" fitting on the edge of the phone. What I mean but this is that you can run your finger along the glass screen up to the edge, and you can easily stretch the silicone core out.
Other than that, I agree with you. Especially with the part about not adding that much bulk. I'm pretty picky when it comes to cases as I want best of both worlds. Protections and slimness is hard to come by but I think Incipio nails it with this case. :good:

Good point about the loose-ness. Lint has not been an issue, but maybe I just don't have any in my pockets.
There really is no perfect case but this is the closest I have found for the GS3.

Any new cases coming from popular brands?

So, is there any new cases coming out from popular brands other than Otterbox?
I used this one from swiss army and it fits the captivate perfectly.

))) I meant Popular Brands that make Quality Cases... Like Speck, Otterbox and others...
Yeah... I really wish Speck made cases for the Captivate.

BUMP! May be something new coming up?
otterbox released their impact series case.. but no defender as of yet
Incipio just came out with a case for the captivate. I have one of their hard cases for my Zune HD and am very happy with the quality. I'm tempted to pick up one for my Captivate. Right now I'm using an Invisibleshield but wouldn't mind a little more protection.
I just got the Otterbox Impact case for the Captivate not ten minutes ago in the mail. Shipping was ok, I ordered it last Thursday. Seems really solid and thick enough that it could take a decent impact or drop. I like it so far but the increase in size will have to grow on me. It's not a ridiculous increase, puts it about to the size of a 3GS iPhone really. Other than that it comes with a screen protector and has a good feel in your hands. I got it for right under $18.00 with shipping using the coupon code "tb1010y".
Check this and this. These look pretty solid, and are very reasonably-priced!

Bought this case in the mall at a kiosk.
http://store.mybat.com/smoke-argyle-candy-skin-cover-18120.html
1. That design, barely visible. It's actually A LOT darker case. Especially when on the phone.
2. It's thick flexible plastic. Hard Gel-like. Not a rubber skin that gets caught up in your pocket.
3. It's the exact same shape as the phone. A true "skin'.
4. Light. Adds almost no additional weight to the phone.

IDK about the first one, but the snap on case isn't that good. I have the black version. The snaps are broken in several spots, the case opens itself when dropped (what good is that?), and occasionally when pulling out of my pocket the case is literally falling off.
YMMV, but if I had to do it again, I'd avoid the Amzer rubberized snap on case at all costs.
Body Glove TPU case is all you need.

[Mini-Review] Body Glove Dimensions case.

Mini-Review
Body Glove Dimensions Case from AT&T store. Retail is $30 but you can get it for around $20 online or around $20 if they are nice enough to give you a discount at the store..
The feel is a bit slippery but not as slippery as the phone with no case you can grip this with a solid firm grip on the sides and it has a feel like you won't drop it. The softness is not soft but not hard. I would say it's in between soft and hard.
It doesn't attract link/dust so no need to worry about that. The only color I have seen so far is gray. As for the ports - The opening for the usb connection is nice. I can still plug my logitech cable into it and that's a largely sized cable that charges my G700. That's the cable I use for my pc when the mouse isn't charging. The power/volume rocker holes are nice too. I don't like case that cover the actual buttons and this feels similar to the Incipio feather case openings imo.
On to the pics.

Nice tight fit. The edges don't bow at all. It's really a solid all around case.
I too bought this case and like the Body Glove I had for my Captivate it fits pretty good and is really tight on the phone. I tried several cases on at the AT&T store and this one seems to keep the phone the slimist while protecting all the edges of the phone.

that's what she said...
I also had a Body Glove on my Captivate and loved it. However, the Body Glove for the GS3 is not the same. It's thinner and a bit harder. Also, it tends to lift the edges of my screen protector.
I have this case and two of the cheaper fosman/cimo s-line type cases and this feels way better and slimmer. This one is just 5 times the price... but worth it.

I also purchased the Body Glove case for my Galaxy S3 and man Im loving it. Very tight fit and protects the phone nicely. I love the fact that the volume, on/off buttons are open and not covered by the case.
I also got another one, the Case-Mate barely there case, but I like the Body Glove material better.
Got the Body Glove for $19.99 and Case-mate for $24.9 here http://smartphonepedia.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-accessories/accessories/cases.html

I did a mini review on the case mate too. I got the brushed aluminum one though. Both are nice cases.
Picked up the body glove dimensions tpu case in grey for $20 from Smartphonepedia. Shipping was quick and no issues with the order. This is my third case. The other two are the Incipio Feather and the Incipio Silicrylic. If you're looking for a TPU case with open cut outs, good fit, excellent grip and a decent raised lip on the face of the phone, this is a good choice.
I don't use a screen protector so can't comment on how it might interfere. The grip on the sides is the best I have seen on a case, it seems they really gave some thought to this design.
The feather is by far the best as far as feel goes but provides not much drop protection for the front, top or bottom.

Elago G5 Breathe Case Review

With my previous device (DX) I stuck primarily to bulky/extremely durable cases for protection, but given the bump in size for the S3, I decided to take a departure and look for cases that were creative yet extremely slim. I decided to go with the Elago G5 Breathe Case.

Pros:
*Reasonably priced (I paid $8.99 shipped with Prime - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DOBF04/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
*Available in numerous colors - http://elagostore.com/category/74725208961/1/Galaxy-S3-Case.htm
*Mesh backing prevents device from becoming overheated.
*Hardshell casing ensures case will not easily crack, bend, or break.
*Slim fit ensures no bulk and contours perfectly to the shape of the device
*Simple and to some degree Eco-Friendly packaging
Cons:
*Offers minimal protection / top and bottom of device is not protected
*No lip around the circumference of the front of the case, thus offers little to no screen protection if device is placed screen down on flat/rough service.
*Does not include extras (some manufacturers include screen protectors, stands, cloths, etc.)
*Possible to find similar or better protective cases for the same price or cheaper.
Given the sheer size of the S3 and the ability for this case to add little to no noticeable bulk makes me a big fan of this case;more so then I had originally expected I would be. I plan on purchasing an SGP Curved Crystal protector once it is released, to remedy the lack of screen protection because of minimal lip.
Nice write-up, thanks for the review. I had these on my iPhone and was happy to see that they went ahead and designed cases for the GS3.
At the moment I have the solid-back white, as well as a navy breathe case on the way. Already dropped it once, case is scratched up but everything else is solid.
Out of curiosity, are you rooted/ROM'ed? Wondering how you got that lock-screen.

I did forget to mention that while the finish is glossy, the holes do in fact assist with gripping the device.
This looks like a great case, but too bad there isn't enough of a lip around the front of the phone to set it face-down and not worry about scratches. Other slim cases like Rock have a lip. Does anyone know if the other Elago G5 Slim Fit cases have a lip on the front?

Which Rock case has a lip? The one below doesnt, its similar to the Elago G5 case.
I am looking for a slim case that protects the top, bottom and sides, plus has a lip around the screen. Has anyone see one with these specs?

[User Review] Amzer Pudding TPU Case Black For Moto G

I initially looked at the flip case, but having had a go with a friends, I didn`t like the `flip` when making a call.
I started looking round for alternatives and spotter the Amzer Pudding TPU case.
I wanted something with protection all the way round the phone. I`ve seen several where the corners are exposed. Dropping it on a corner is something I had with an old phone and it immediately cracked the glass, so a fully enclosed cover was top of the list.
This has a `rubberised` texture and in use, it certainly feels grippy. The edges are sticky enough so you won`t drop it easily, but not so bad that you can`t get it in and out of your pocket without it `grabbing` the material. :good:
For £6.50 delivered, I really can`t complain. :good:

Full edge coverage
Closeup of the corners
Neat cutout for the headphone
Camera & Speaker cutouts
Power and Volume controls are covered, but they are easy to use and I haven`t struggled to press the buttons at all.
By how much does the thickness increase..
i know its too much to ask but if u ever remove the case can u post pictures of case and bare mobile side by side
btw i have never used a tpu case..its is rubbery flexible or plasticky...i have heard that its a combination of both

But a drop of more than 2-3 feet would probably still break the phone. To get better protection, one should have a case with thick rubber bumpers on the corners like the Trident or Ballistic case. But of course, it wouldn't be as pocket friendly.
I have this case and dislike it. It adds too much thickness for me, but about what you can expect from a TPU case. I buy cases for scratch protection rather than drop protection. I hate the glossy bezel and just wish they had that same back finish for the entire case. The finish of the back is nice since it doesn't pick up fingerprints. The last thing I can't stand is how small the usb connector cutout is. This can probably be fixed with a knife, but it still shouldn't come like that.
is it sturdy material or flexible that it can be like silicon cover in the ease of putting/removing the phone from it?
It is not terribly difficult to put this case on or remove it. One of the best features of this case for me is the matte back section which greatly improves grip and the button molds in the side.

Every time I use a heavy-duty case though I end up removing it after a few months and using a less-protective one because of the bulk, tpu cases seem like an "OK" compromise (or at least I hope).
I've been eyeing the Cruzerlite bugroid ones since watching this IRL drop test (nexus 5) video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY9Svj9fYVg but the Amzer one reviewed here looks very nice :good:
isit a good alternative for the gripshell?
I need a bumper what do you suggest?
It does provide good protection but makes the device look dull. I guess I'll have to buy something else for my wife.

Its very cool, but its expensive. I'm from Spain and this price is elevate for me.

This was the only tpu case available when the phone first launched online. It is a durable case with good protection, not too bulky. Offers good grip. Overall 7.5/10.
After much ado I finally decided on this case, bought it, received it, liked it at first. Then I had it in my pocket for a day at work.
Took my phone out of my pocket and the screen was covered in little waves of dust. And it had gathered up around the edges. Even had a small piece of plaster or something sticking to the screen.
I work in a dusty environment but this is ridiculous. I didn't have problems with my 3GS or Lumia, and though the bareback Moto G's screen seemed to attract a little more dust than those... This case is a DUST MAGNET.
I wish someone would have mentioned that in any of the dozens and dozens of reviews I'd gone over.

The Unofficial Diz Case Thread

What the hey..been using Diztronic TPU cases since about 5 phones ago (Sensation?) through the recent Nexus series 4 and 5. Now my G3 sports the familiar thin protector in black, and once again Diz has the winning combo: reduced slippery matte back, glossy narrow front lip with slight elevation for placing phone face down without worry, and a no bulk thin cover which has always protected my phones from dozens upon dozens of drops and never a cracked screen. Around 10 bucks and money well spent.[emoji41]
Edit: Just looked it up..1.44mm thin and under an ounce, made in Wiscahnsuhn, donchaknow..

I've always been a fan of the Diztronic case for my phones as well. However, since I was in a hurry to get a case when I got my phone I did some searching around for other TPU options to hold me over. I ended up with the Fosmon TPU Case and man am I impressed! The fit is excellent with perfect cutouts. And the lip around the edges to protect the screen is there but not nearly as bulky as what I've previously experienced with Diztronic cases.
I must admit that this case has prevented me from even considering switching to another TPU case, even when Diztronic releases one. Especially when you consider that this case is only $5.97 shipped!

Just odd that they look same. Well one says Fosman. I'm bummed my Nillkin case is a little bulky but really like the looks of it. That's why I like spending a little more money at stores so I can easily return it. Oh well that case was only 6 bucks.

Yeah..sometimes I justify the extra price (even double on lower cost goods) for ability to handle and test, and possibly to return, but also the price of instant gratification. It will take a week to get the Fosman and if I didn't already have the Diz...but it will be fun to compare the two. [emoji4]

Got the Diztronic off Amazon for 9 bucks. It's simply fantastic. Simple, well made, looks awesome. Highly recommended. I will never spend $40 on an Otterbox again, it's just not worth it.
Okiedoke...Fosman has arrived, and I AM impressed. It's noticeably thinner than the Diz, which feels a bit more rigid. The Fosman also has more gloss finish around the margins and curves of the phone, so it feels softer in the hand than the Diz, which has a ridge or seams of transition between the matte and gloss finishes. I think the Fosman TPU, while slightly thinner, should offer similar protection from drops, feels more pliable, softer in hand, but has a few mold marks and isn't as perfectly finished as the Diz, but then is a few bucks cheaper than the Diz. Both are worth the money, either way! Cheers!
Edit: I'm also noticing a difference in the matte finish feel between the backs of the two: The Diz feels like a smooth rubber, while the Fosman feels a bit coarser and more like textured plastic.
