AT&T Red Color - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

So I'm gonna get a SGS3 soon, upgrade came around and it's time to replace my Inspire 4G.
I'm completely set on getting an SGS3, after hours on hours of research in the great HOX vs. SGS3 debate I finally decided on the SGS3. The only problem now is what color to get.
I've seen the blue and white ones in store, but not the red one yet, simply because when I looked around the red version was not yet released. Blue looks surprisingly good, better than I thought it would from online pics. White? Well, I'm not really a fan of glossy white, especially since that's sort of... Apple's thing (and lets be honest, the iPhone 4(S) in white looks much better than the SGS3 in white).
However, I figure at the same time I'm going to put it in a case, and it's likely not going to be a clear (TPU) case either, so realistically only the bezel will be showing. So at the end of the day, I want to be picking the color that matches best with possible cases (I'm thinking, Speck Candy Shell, Insipio Silicrylic, or Otterbox Commuter), which makes white a more attractive option, as white goes well with many colors, while blue or red may not.
So, really I have two questions:
What do you think of the Garnet Red color? Preferably if you've seen it in person.
and
Which color would match best with cases?

Haven't seen it in person, but I think the red is pretty ugly, even in promotion..
I bought the blue and regret it. Wish I bought the white.

All 3 area amazing. I have the white one but wouldn't mind having all three colors. There is no "this color is better"...who cares. Buy one and enjoy it.

Just my 2 cents..
I've seen the red in person and it's quite nice. It's more of a deep wine color if you aren't in direct light which gives it a bit more sophisticated look to it than a typical fire engine red color. Get the red if you like the appeal of more of a "rare" color phone as obviously not as many people will have it compared to the blue or white models.
I personally have the blue and have no regrets with it. When in low lighting or dark atmosphere, it's hard to tell that the phone is even blue and looks more towards the black spectrum. I also think it has a more professional look than the white model does. I don't mind taking my phone out in front of clients or my bosses at work etc.
The white model is the most feminine of them all to me personally. I also hate white borders for any of my gadgets. It makes the screen look more like it's inside of a picture frame if that makes sense. With dark or black borders, the screen blends in way better and much more pleasurable to view when watching videos.
Now with that all being said, regardless of how they look, I highly suggest investing in a case for the phone. This will obviously limit the amount of case is exposed.

I exchanged my blue one for a red one and never looked back. Its amazing I even have a red webbed technocell case to with it...and the red capbuttons look grrrrreat!

I wanted black, but at the time only had choices of white or blue. Blue looked purple to me, so I chose white. I have a black thin case on it, and surprisingly like the way it looks.
My son bought the red one last week. I can't say that I really care for it in red, but he loves it. So I guess it really comes down to personal preference. The red is actually a nice deep shade, but I'm still not a fan of having a red phone.

The capacitive button are red on the red phone. Looks great

The red is fantastic. It sealed the deal with ATT.
The pictures online suck, and a camera can't really catch it. It's a polished red plastic with powder flake and the color is a nice deep cherry red. Similar would be a 50th Anniversary Corvette Velocity Red, but the phone is a little brighter in direct light. It actually matches my car really well, and it's 1987 GM Dark Red Metallic.
When I hit my ten posts I'll come back here with some pictures.

I love my red s3...definitely the best color imho

As promised.
These first two show the difference between average light (no flash) and bright light.
Here is another shot showing how bright light really makes the phone a nice red color, and shows off my laptop's pattern well too.
This is GoLauncher with the BloodRed theme available on the market. Homescreen widget is Fancy Widgets.

Colors
So here you go I am the color whore and I have had every color and passed the ones I didn't like to my employee's.
White - I like but it made me think iPhone but very nice
Blue - I just don't like the confusing color between gun metal and burple
Red - well thats what I am carrying at the moment. Hmm... well as the pictures shot in the above post in bright light its awesome and thats the color I wanted. What I have most of the the time is closer to burgundy. So overall I just don't like it.
Conclusion - I am thinking hard about returning the Red for White. I wish it were a brighter red. I purchase a Seidio Case and their Garnet was the color I wanted for the SG3. So as a result the colors clash.... Clearly its personel preference but look it over in the bright light and in the normal light and determine where you spend most of your time. THe difference in color is pretty dramatic.

I have the white version but I wouldn't mind using any color. Overall your gonna be happy with any color.

I got a red one its cool looking most of the time but in direct sunlight I feel like a lady its too glittery.

White colored phones are in no way "feminine."

It's personal preference. It's an S3, you can't go wrong with any color. I have the pebble blue and I love it. The most popular color of choice up here is white. We don't have the red one. I would've loved a black one. I doubt we will get it. I know every phone is black but it matches my wardrobe and purses.

My red AT&T S3 got me a date with a hot Samsung rep at the Mexican cell carrier Telcel(as they don't have the red ones).
Just kidding about the date, but she was impressed, and they don't have them in Mexico.

I really like my red one, compliments my White International S3 nicely:

Blue as well, here and I was so close to getting the white. Now I wish I had bought the white. I thought about waiting for the red but now I think it's a little too bold.

I have the white and really like the way it looks in person. It is super sleek and just has a really nice look. If I could have a different color I would like the new black one that is coming out.

Curious to see how our poll results will differ from the international poll (where blue is leading by ~11%)
never been a fan of white myself and have always chosen black. I don't have one yet (waiting for stock) but that blue looks damn fine in my opinion. I bet the white looks awesome as well but I like the darker color.

Same here - really wanted black, but went with white because I didn't much like the fake brushed-metal pattern on the blue and its purplish home button. Nothing a case can't mostly hide, though.
White. Not even a debate.

I got the blue and my GF got the white.
The back of the white looks better.
The front is a toss up... they both look lovely... until one of the capacitive or notification LEDs lights up on the white phone.
The white version has light leak around the leds... makes it look cheap.
I would recommend blue + aftermarket back
I want the blue and voted for it but I saw a white and black case on a white model and it looked pretty darn good. I think it was a case-mate case. If they have a white one available, then I'll decide then. Either way, a case is going on it, so really, what does it matter?
Peebble blue with Samsung blue Flip case looks very professional. Im loving it.

Ordered and received Blue (read: butt ugly purple) and hated it... It's a blue'ish purple, the back cover is a different color and the button is a different color... This thing has 3 different shades of blue / purple on it... Really Samsung??
Posted an ad on Craigslist in LA for a trade and actually found someone! Woohoo.. Now I have white and am pleased..
If the blue was all one color it might look better but the 3 different shades makes it one of the ugliest looking things I have ever seen... Hope they fix it and devices manufactured later won't suffer from it..

First off... They should have offered Black. Which is what I would have wanted. I chose white because the blue didn't appeal to me at all.. I like the non-visible buttons, doesn't show scratches or fingerprints as easily, and i've always had an easy time reselling white phones.. Either way I love the phone, and look forward to modding the hell out of it. Already had several Apple sheep admit their jealousy..

The more I use my phone in different light, the more I realize I have a purple phone. The back is the most blue part, but the sides and front are straight up purple in most light, especially natural light. I have also noticed that, in certain light, the front of the phone is the same exact color as the home button. It still looks very nice and, imo, much better than white. I would have chosen black if it was available. Imagine this thing in black chrome instead of purple chrome. Drool.

Got the blue. Would rather have black. The blue is growing on me......

White 32gb Light Bleed? With pic.

I've now had about 6 of the white gs3 from t-mobile. I have had 1 16gb (it didn't have bleed). The other 5 (32gb) has had this bleed from the buttons in some way. It's worse in person than in pictures, but you can get an idea.
I've also had one where you could see the insides of the phone from an improper seal where the screen meets the bottom by the lights (screen meeting white trim).

Am I the only person to notice this? I'm pretty picky, but this (especially the right one) is totally unacceptable. Video or a dark background at night makes it stick out like a sore thumb.
The one on the bottom, you're being a little picky. The one on the side is legitimate...but why not just turn off the LEDs and save yourself some hassle?

I agree, if I was paying for a $700 device I would want it perfect. I get mine (White 32gb) Friday and will report my findings. I have a strong feeling i'm gonna go back to blue.
How have you had so many GS3's? I'm not shocked though because this was discussed to no end when the phone was first released. I'm sure they could have prevented this by using a dark film underneath the screen with a masked cut out for the menu and back keys. But what do I know about manufacturing. Maybe they see this as a bonus feature?

You're not going to have that problem with the blue one, If I'm right I think most white phones has the same problem, I know my friends white skyrocket has it.
Yikes... That's a nasty light bleed
I noticed this on my white GS2 as well but I got the blue for my GS3. My wife has the white but it doesn't look that bad to me.
I think this is a tough problem to conquer for everyone. Remember how long the white IP4 was delayed?

Yea i think all the white ones will ultimately have it to some degree. The skyrocket also has it and so does the sgh-t989 (white model) the dark colored phones such as black and blue kind of hide this.....i have a white one and mine bleed but im not returning it because of that that is just a little to anal. Now if the screen was bleeding then thats a different story. Il tell u what though id love to make them brighter somehow! My T989 keys were super bright

LOL.. I have a lot, I kinda liked it.. it looks cool in the dark like phone is ALL lit up.

So why are we represented by a white S3?!

I am personally outraged.
Forever Pebble Blue
I settle at the following,
I am personally a fan of the two colors touching, it's pretty sexy XD
Technically we should have a Red GS3 since AT&T is the only carrier with that color.
white is better :good:
My apologies, I linked to an image but apprently new users can't do that quite yet heh. Well, I suppose the next best thing is to discuss this.
Is it possible to get it back/front mix of both colors for the forum image.
Now that I think about it, wit this red one coming out now...this could get a lot more difficult then first imagined. I suppose its just going to have to be one or the other. Not that I don't like the white ones, its just I think the blue is a lot more...distinct?

I like the white, I really do. It's clean looking, it's damn sexy.
I just...I don't know... I see some light bleed with the capacitive buttons. Though that's not much of a turn-off for me, it just doesn't give that "defined" look I guess. I really like the brushed look on the blue. I wish they could of done something with the white, maybe a silver brush? I hear people that usually get the white one aren't a fan of this brushed look though.
Still to this day one of the sexiest plastic finishes for laptops had to be the HP's for a while. They weren't much for scratch resistance, but some of the designs and textures were awesome!
Has anyone gotten to play with the red one yet? Thing looks amazing.

I think white look better than any other color
Let's change it to a neutral color that the S3 doesn't come in! Maybe something like pink?
if you go to settings->display->touch key light duration you can set the capacitive buttons to be always off. since they flank the physical home button on either side, you can't really mess up hitting them as long as you memorize right side is back and left is menu. i think it makes the phone look super sleek and clean if they never light up. i do have the pebble blue version tho and my capacitive buttons are essentially invisible when not lit up.
probably adds a little battery life too...

What Color Are You Getting?

I opted for the Coral Blue. I'm tired of black and silver phones. I saw the way it looked in MKBHD's first impressions video and thought it looked amazing. I will admit that the black (on black on black) looks really stealthy and cinematic though.
I would have chosen the coral blue as it looks great. But it's not currently being offered in Australia. I struggled to choose between the Onyx Black & Gold Platinum. In the end I went with the Gold Platinum as my Galaxy S6 edge is the same colour and I think it looks nice and a bit more premium. That being said, the Onyx Black looks sleek as hell and I would be happy with either colour.
Titanium silver.
Its one of , if not the best looking device Ive seen along with the S7.

Coral Blue if possible. But it looks like a US model only. So the Onyx Black is the next choice.
I'm generally not a fan of Black smartphones because it's so common. But this looks so sexy.
I went with the coral blue. There's no better option. I had the gold S7, platinum S7 Edge and the black looks too simple honestly.

I loved it until I went to the store and saw it in person. It's basically a mirror. Fingerprints galore and takes on the color of anything around. I was set on that color so I'm glad I went in the store first. Just a small tip!
I ended up with black because of the deepness of it and it's more of a matte color. The others are all very shiny and reflective.

With a case wrapped around mine, not sure if the Titanium Silver (which is what I chose) will matter for me... All four cases I bought are some version of black or dark. Maybe I didn't 'zactly think this one through...
I generally get cases with some form of gold in it, and with all those cases the edge is black. With my typical gold color phones, I get this mash of gold and black in the front...now I'm tired of that look so I'm getting black.
Maybe the note 9 will get silver, I saw the blue in the store....it didn't call out to me as much as the pictures did online.
I went with the Titanium Silver as I've had Black Galaxy phones before and to me look dull, thought the black S-pen looks awesome. I am not a fan of the color blue, so didn't even cross my mind.. The silver will look great with this case as its shown in the picture....

That's some solid advice haha, fingerprints are just the worst...
Went with the Black Onyx. Played with one at Best Buy and fell in love with the all black finish. Like a nice HD TV.
Well I'm going with the fingerprint magnet. Always had black so I thought silver would be a nice change. A case and a screen protector will help with the prints.
Went for the coral blue, last two phones were white (note 2 & 3). Probably would've went for gold if it was offered in the US but I just ordered a cherry leather case and I'm unsure on how'd it contrast with a blue phone.
I'm leaning towards the Coral Blue (since my 6P is awesome Silver), but haven't made a final decision until I check it in person...
Went with the silver titanium didn't see the blue in person but it has rose gold around the edge so I'm not interested. Black I've had my reasoning is I can have the silver if I want to change it I can put a black decal on it like a skin or a wood skin or a black case.

Ordered both the Black and Blue, I handle the phones form my company so I can play with them both and decide which one I like better... if at all as I'm not sure I'm ready to give up my Nexus 6P
I went with the coral blue

Blue Coral: What it actually looks like and is it for girls?

For those of you who are pondering which color Note 7 to get, but thought the Blue Coral variation looked "girly," and you haven't yet seen it in person, this is the thread for you!
While I can't speak for the Silver Titanium version, as I have not yet seen it in person, I think that one is a pretty straight forward. Silver is an obvious color and you can probably guess what it will look like in person. If that's the color you're leaning towards, I say go for it! It simply wasn't for me, and for those reasons, I'll be ruling it out of this thread.
Now, I'll start by saying that I have always been a fan of the color black, especially when it comes to cellphones. Not only does black contrast the screen well, making it look almost invisible at night, but it also seems less likely(to me, anyway) to get dirty or show signs of wear than some colors. I know I had a white phone once, and by the time I was done with it, the thing was turning yellow.
The Black Onyx Note 7 is a very, very, dark black. It looks amazing, I'm not going to lie. I've seen it and held it in person, and it's a GREAT color. So, the purpose of this thread is not to discredit the Black Onyx variation, as that was my first choice. I was hellbent on getting it. In fact, I was prepared and willing to drive 3 hours to find one. However...
When it came time to purchase my Note 7 I searched AT&T's website for the Black Onyx variation for pickup in-store. Considering my old service was about to expire, I simply could not wait the 2 weeks it would've taken for them to ship one to me, as I would've had to pay another month for my other service, so in-store pickup was my only option. To my demise, I realized that there was no Black Onyx variation available in any of the nearest 50 AT&T stores. Heh, no problem, right? I'll just enter in a different zip code and... no. Needless to say, I searched the entire south-east coastline from New Orleans, across Mississippi, and all the way over to Mobile, Alabama. Not ONE store had the Black Note 7 in-stock.
Panicking, I contacted an online representative of AT&T. I asked, "HOW CAN I GET DIS PHONE? WUT I DO WRONG? PLS SEND ONE BI 2MORROW." Sadly, it didn't work that way. They told me that even though I'd get express shipping, it'd take over a week for Samsung to even have the phone ready to ship. Heartbroken, I assumed this was the end, and that I'd have to wait another month for the phone. After all, I wasn't having it any other way than Black Onyx. The silver was too bland for my taste, and the Coral Blue seemed a tad too girly, more like powder/baby blue to me. Mind you, I hadn't actually seen the blue variation yet, just pictures. So, the online representative notifies me that while I could not get the Black Onyx in the time I needed no matter what, nor the silver as that was also not available ANYWHERE, there WAS a Blue Coral variation available in a store about an hour away. I was devastated, and prepared to tell her that it wasn't an option, when she said: "You can get that one and then trade it in for the black version within 15 days of purchase, once the stores have restocked." WAT?! Ecstatic, I told her "yes!" and made my way to the store to pick up my "Pfft, blue" version of the Note 7.
I get to the store and explain my situation right away. "Hey, I'm here to pick up the Blue Coral Note 7, but I don't really want Blue Coral, I'm going to be returning it within the 15 day period to get my Black Onyx version, since I don't like any of the other colors." Right away, they notify me that if I'm doing it that way, I'll be paying a $45 restocking fee(thanks, AT&T online representative for "forgetting" to mention that part!) Defeated, and prepared to pay the $45 restocking fee a few days later for the black Note 7, I agree.
(TL;DR? / Get to the point? See below.)
To my excitement...
The Coral Blue Galaxy Note 7 looks NOTHING like it does in the pictures/videos. Every picture and video I have seen online displays a phone that is baby blue, light blue, powder blue, aqua blue, etc. However, up close and personal, that is not the case.
Firstly, pictures do not do this phone justice, AT ALL. The Blue Coral variation is actually a DARK BLUE. Not SUPER dark, but it's definitely dark, almost navy. However, it shines in a way I've yet to see on any smartphone. The best way to describe the color is more of a candy/metallic navy blue. The "silver" edges are actually quite deceiving as well. They are not REALLY silver. In lower lighting, they are actually sort of an amber red/gold. In high light, they do appear to be more silver than anything. This phone... is not girly... AT ALL! It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
I will say, however, that this would likely be the most preferred color among female consumers, but it is in no way limited to them, and I can guarantee you that this is a phone that was also made with males in mind.
As soon as I laid eyes on this phone, I made my decision: I would not be paying the $45 restocking fee and trading this out for Black Onyx. No way in hell. In fact... I would not trade this out for the Black Onyx even if it were FREE. Hell, I was hesitant to even make this thread, as I feel like I just discovered Samsung's best kept secret: the true color of the Blue Coral Note 7. This is probably the least popular of the three phones, and I am going on record here and saying that it's lack of popularity must literally be a result of the girly/baby blue appearance it has in pictures. I feel that it would easily be the most popular phone of the three if it were possible for pictures and videos to do this phone justice.
That said, I decided to come here to share this little secret with you all today. This is NOT a troll thread. This is the God's honest truth. I am in love with this phone, and you simply have to see it for yourself, IN PERSON, before making your decision to roll with black or silver. If you disagree with me, let me know, in the comments below. If you have questions, let me know, in the comments below. If you also purchased the Blue Coral Note 7 and were surprised by it's beautiful, darker candy/blue appearance or amber red/gold edges, let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for reading, and sorry for the long story, but I wanted to emphasize the fact that this phone looks NOTHING like it does in the pictures. Literally, NOTHING LIKE IT, and I was deceived, probably as well as many others. I hope this thread helped some people out!
Once you try coral blue, you'll never go back. No rhyme, just a fact Jack!

Team coral blue
I was on the fence about it. Said screw it and got it. I really like it. It doesn't look girly at all, which was my biggest question as well. Glad I didn't get just another black phone.
I got the blue coral because the silver was a fingerprint magnet and I got tired of black phones.
I think the color is cool looking. Changes based on lighting.
The edges are Rose Gold and look almost copper in sunlight.
Very good looking combo.
Real men get Black Onyx.
I almost got the Blue Coral at Best Buy, then the guy told me it had been reserved as I was standing in line! No more Note 7's were in stock. As I was about to go home they double checked and 10 black onyx were delivered. So I got the black, but that blue looks pretty damn sweet.

I have both the Blue Coral and the Black, I will return one once I make up my mind but I find that I keep my SIM in the Blue most of the time. I would say either color is a winner, Black has been the only color I have had with a smartphone and I think it's time for a change PLUS the Blue is very cool looking and after all variety is the spice of life
I'm so gay (happy) with this phone

Thanks! It was tough. Had to use my note 4 on some of them. So many retakes and deleted scenes lol. The desk ones are still too blue IMO.

I love the Coral Blue! Its a nice!
It's not the Blue... It's the Pink sides.
Oh wait, the Rose Gold *cough*
jk
It looks nice. I picked one up today... for my woman.
She loves it......
And so should you guys
Wild that you say that it was the only color available. I actually got the silver. I had to order it because all the stores in the area were out. They had a corral blue display model and i liked it but when I said to order the blue one the store rep told me that the corral blue and black were the most popular colors and I would probably have to wait longer because everyone at their store was ordering the corral blue and the computer showed longer backorder wait times so I went with the silver.

I saw this the other day and thought it was a good depiction of the different varieties of blue that the cb note serves up.
