NFL Live games - Nexus 7 Themes and Apps

I am looking for a way to watch NFL games whether its free or paid for. I currently do not have a TV service I only care to watch football. OTA is not an option. I am probably going to try sling box if I can't buy something to watch them on live here.
I also have a galaxy nexus on sprint so if anybody can suggest something based on what I have.
My galaxy nexus is on jb so it can't be flash based FYI.

You need home tv and internet service if you want to use slingbox. It works well on our n7's.

I'm trying to use the sling box as a last resort since I don't have tv service.

I haven't tried it... But you could try NFL Game Pass?
https://gamepass.nfl.com/nflgp/secure/packages?ttv=7&ttp=3
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.neulion.android.nfl.gamepass&hl=en
Doesn't require DirectTV. All streamed online

I search twitter for links to streams. You have to weed out the spam but once you get an eye for what accounts are bs you'll have no problem finding a stream.

What's the best nfl app

I liked the sprint nfl app but it won't work on decks rom

Well it would help if you told us exactly what you are looking for. Do you just want scores? News? video? etc
Backing up sprint football live with titanium backup, on a sense rom, then restoring it on an AOSP rom worked perfectly for me. The first time you open it after the restore you can't be connected to wifi. It's the only app I will use.
You could get Score Center by ESPN. Its a pretty good app

The ONLY way to legally watch nfl games live on your phone is with verizon's nfl app, as the nfl has a contract with them. And I'm almost positive you dont get all games with that app, only one game a week, plus the redzone channel.

That's last years app. I can pretty much guarantee you it wont work once the season starts, as verizon will put more security in their servers to only allow verizon phones access to the streams.
Redzone feature alone is worth the price of admission for Verizon subscribers. Esp if one plays the books. I think they also live streamed Sunday night games during 2nd half of the season. Real time box scores are faster than ESPN app and comp website.
Someone will most def hack this for all to use. Last yr Verizon kept trying to patch the hacks to no avail.
They sent out a one of their OTA patches just prior to a MNF game last yr and by half time the new hack link was posted.
Pigskin FTW !!! Its finally here.

No. Verizon blocks all other phones from using it periodically. And Again, that's LAST YEARS app. They will release a new one this year, and then it will need to be cracked again.
After an exhausting search, it appears the V. Redzone NFL app for 2011 has not been cracked yet. Looks like Verizon updated it recently, is avail in market for Verizon customers only. App will require users to log in and enter a PW.
Also stumbled upon a thread where Rooted Verizon phones running CM 7.+ were denied access. They needed to reflash a sense rom in order to log in, back up app+data, then restore app+data upon returning to CM.
Similar threads starting to pop up on the usual sites, all in hunt for a working crack. Threads are bound to gain momentum as we get closer to week 1. Hopefully someone ports a crack before then.

Hulu is ad central. I'm going to say Netflix wins here.
Netflix runs in every room in my house
Hmmm interesting
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'd say netflix as hulu is too jam packed with ads for the same amount cost of netflix. Wish I could get the two combined into one minus the ads.
I have hulu but cant stand paying for adds plus their website is a jungle going with netflix all the way
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I had to make a choise the other day because I never used both before....
For me it came down to which has the most device support including our phone which has HDMI out to a TV and of course...
Netflix wins in this area....
So long story short....
Netflix...
I have both, when hulu plus works it works great! But the problem is getting it to work (outside of the computer, the LG tv app of Hulu plus has never worked and whenever my ps3 gets an update Hulu plus never seems to work).
Try Hulu plus out, google free month trial hulu plus and they will let you test it for a month free of charge (currently that's where I'm at and I probably won't renew it because of all the issues on ps3/LG tv).
http://sliced-apple.com/2011/06/17/...l-nito-xmbc-and-icefilms-to-your-apple-t-v-2/
For those looking for other options. This option would require an apple TV in each room you wanted the service but it is a small investment considering you would be able to get rid of all other services including cable or dtv. This would also include getting rid of services like vudu. Enjoy my fellow xda members.
If life was like a box of chocolates wouldn't there be a layout on the inside of the box telling you which are the good ones? Until then use Google.

Roku supports plug ins out of the box. Plus it is cheaper for lower models. Also there seems to be sales on Roku on a regular basis. Lower models are not bad though.

This is it in a nutshell. Did media content providers not learn ANYTHING from Steve Jobs? Make digital media easy to obtain, and people will pay for it. Make it difficult, and people will obtain it via "other" means. This decision is short-sighted and ignorant in my book.

Considering that the OS has been around for a bit over a week I'm amazed at how many apps ARE compatible.
If you have mission critical stuff, by all means go back to or stay with 4.2.x until the specific developer updates.
Otherwise enjoy the new OS and be patient. The good Devs are on it...

This is the price we pay for being the very first to get these updates. I don't mind it myself but for those that are bothered just wait for a free weeks before upgrading next time to give the app devs time to catch up.
