International one x question - HTC One X

U guys can beat me up for this, for asking such a returd question.
Will the International gsm unlocked version work on Verizons network? Since verizon provides micro SIM cards?

One X also uses micro sim only so it should work without any problems as its unlocked.

I hope it will.

No. It will not work. Verizon uses sim cards as their LTE network is based on GSM BUT, they are a CDMA carrier.
To clarify: those sim cards are for their LTE network...but Verizon is primarily a CDMA carrier. The hardware on the One X is incompatible.

Are you.sure and has anyone tried it

Babydoll is right, at best you might be able to get data if their LTE network is based on GSM but no cell/txt/mms and that is at best. It is quite probable that none of it will work.
CDMA != GSM

Poop! Haha

Yes, if you can find a unlocked Galaxy S3 and if you can cut your SIM to the right dimensions.

I can unlock mine, I need to know if anyone knows if the procedure online is safe enough that people have already done it.

You can unlock it and use.att sim. Get a micro sim.cutter.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
if you bought it outright, call tmobile and they will send you the unlock instructions. no questions asked. done. then you will have to get a microsim cutter and you're golden.

So I am currently on verizon but I will be switching to tmobile here soon. My question is when I get my new sim card and put it in my note 2 do I need to be on a 100% stock rom or will the one im one now be okay? As in would I need to flash a Tmobile rom ...

You won't be able to use the Verizon Note 2 on T-Mobile.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Why not. On their site it said my phone was compatible, all I need to do is put their sim card in and switch the apn.

I thought the Verizon version was locked down and has to be unlocked by Verizon. Are you rooted right now?
This thread seems to show that it works. Dunno about LTE connectivity but it looks like it works for HSPA.

Some phones (made for specific carriers) have both CDMA and GSM capabilities, ie. the Verizon Note 2, iPhone 5
I am rooted..found out lastnight they are partially sim unlocked because you cant get LTE connectivity unless you fully unlock it.

Some have one. The VZW one does. I think it is specifically for roaming as the device is definitely gsm capable.

It's for the LTE network on Verizon. The SIM card had all the LTE sign in information and for foreign sim cards when global.
Having said that the Verizon note 2 is already sim unlocked (you do need root to change apns). You will get edge data and if you're in areframed t mobile you'll get HSPA, I'm honestly not sure about LTE.
I know this because I've owned both and was very active in the Verizon forum as well. I also thought about this exact move, but choose to sell my Verizon and buy atmo version. Better compatibility and wifi calling

Sim Unlock

I'm sure this has been covered, but I'm not finding it. Is the One SIM unlocked out of the box? I'm traveling to Spain tomorrow and VZW is telling me it will work, just slap in a local SIM card. I really don't want to wait until I'm over there to find out. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance!

The local sim you use will have to be on a like network to vzw, don't think it will work on gsm network.

That's what I thought too, but I made it clear to the rep that it would be a gsm service. I guess if all else fails I can buy an unlock code and have it emailed to me.

I wanna say it has to be unlocked now... May need to change VPN settings but I think all of the new set phones can be used on gsm carriers. Not sprint though.

Forgive me, do you mean it should already be unlocked? I don't really care about data, but I'm going to need it to make local calls. I just don't want to get there and then not be able to do anything with it.

This is correct, its part of the contract that Verizon made: All LTE phones using the 700MHz band have to be SIM unlocked.
SIM is definitely carrier unlocked. In London now using a 3 SIM with no issues.
It is SIM unlocked. I'm currently using it on T-Mobile in the US.

How can I make my HTC work better on metropcs

So I know all Verizon lte phones a're unlocked now. So how can I get 4g and mms on mines. When I was using my Verizon iPhone 5 and my Verizon note 2 on metropcs they were working great. But now with my one it doesn't wanna work all I get is edge no mms. Everything else works great like sms calls voice mail etc. Would flashing something help? Please help.

you be better of using it on tmobile if anything
which apns did you put in
Well, the Verizon one may be unlocked, so you can put almost any SIM in it and have it work, but the hardware does not support all bands of LTE and/or frequencies.

yeah found out unlocked htc one dont really support tmobile/metropcs basebands well
Could always trade someone a Verizon HTC one for a t mo HTC one. Just because it's the same phone doesn't mean it has the same internals.

Well that is both true and untrue. While the phone does have gsm hardware the gsm sim card is integrated into the phone. To use it on another gsm network you need their sim card. There are mods to change that but it is not for the faint of heart.
