Screen protector help - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

I love the screen protector that Samsung put on Galaxy Note 10.1.
It would be a prefect screen protector if I can remove the the imprints that they've eched on.
Does anyone know where I can get screen protector that's similar to the screen protector that Samsung put on the Galaxy Note 10.1?
I've bought some soft film screen protector and they're just aweful, swiping the stylus over it and you leave a track mark that doesn't go away.
Thanks.
John

Seems like this guys recommendation might be what your looking for. Can't vouch for it personally but given the claims it makes I might give it a try.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844143

Most of the clear dry install screen protectors would be fine for you.
I personally tend to use Photodon and if you are in the US I would recommend them. It sounds like you want a clear screen, not one that has a matte finish. If you order from them get the screen protector for the galaxy tab 2 10.1 and the "crystal clear" film MXA-5832-01
Crystal clear = http://www.photodon.com/p/MXA-5832-01.html
Matte anti-glare = http://www.photodon.com/p/MXH-5832-01.html
My personal preference is the matte finish because it hides fingerprints well and is easy to see when near direct light. It does degrade the screen quality slightly, but I'd rather that than having reflections. Personal preference really, ymmv.

I got this one and love it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008R9FVUK/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
It has a matte finish (no fingerprints or glare), so it may not be what you're looking for.

How does the pen with the default nib, slide with this covers?

There are thick, clear and provide a bit of paperlike drag to the pen.

screen protector for galaxy tab

I just purchased one on amazon from ArmorSuit. Gotta be one of the best screen protectors out there. Way Way better then skinomi and the majority that is out there. 5/5 stars. Just my honest opinion. Is invisible shield just not good anymore?
I think I'll try this Armorsuit...I just received the SGP screen protector....suck and overpriced..lucky I got it from Amazon...easy return service....
I got the Steinheil Ultra Crystal (SQ) and the fit (some air around the camera) and quality is really good (been using Steinheil screen protectors for years on my phones). I got my from Amazon.com and its kinda expensive but its like $21/year =).
This isn't the place I got my, but you can see all the different types.

couldn't find one here, hence bought a notebook screen protector and pruned it for perfect fit on my galaxy tab plus used the remnant for my phone.
I'm worried if I put an Invisibleshield screen protector on my GT 10.1 it will leave a permenant haze or film on the the screen when I decide to take it off. Can anyone offer any information? Thank you
I got this.

3x screen protectors for $10 shipped. They're matte. Fit almost perfect (1mm smaller than the actual glass to prevent lifting).
I dont see any reason for a screen protector other than wanting to have a matte screen to remove the glare.

Most of us actually prefer our screen (gorilla glass or not) scratch-free. Having a protector gives you ease of mind when rubbing a smudge or fingerprint off too.

I just installed that exact same one from the same seller. Fits perfectly, especially around the camera and ambient light sensor. It adds a little bit of a grainy texture to the display, but all anti-glare films I've used do that. Not sure if it's really got an anti-grease / oleophobic coating as mine has some decent fingerprints, but the matte surface hides it well.
Tip to line it up the first time: before you take off the backing, line it up how you want it. Scotch tape it 3x on one of the edges, preferrably the one with the pull-tab for the backing. Make a tape handle for the opposite end of the screen. When you're ready to install it, hold the tape handle and pull the backing off with the tab, then pull the handle tight as you lay down the protector.
Trust me, I went through at least 7 different screen protectors (I got the Asus, Acer, and Samsung) and this is by far the best one out there. Good luck.

How does it stack up against InvisibleShield and the other 3M Scratchguard types? I usually don't like the texture on those.
Don't know about the ones I've been hearing about in this thread, but I've got InvisibleShield on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I'm probably never taking it off. It works wonders and I have the same protector for my HTC Evo. Never need another screen protector once you go InvisibleShield.
I myself have been searching for a screen protector for my tab. I have the invisishield on my evo4g, and I find that it adds quite a bit of sticky friction to swiping, or any time you drag your finger across the screen. It's not so important on the phone as it would be on the tab, so here's my question:
What sp will offer some protection, but doesn't add much friction to the touch experience.
Appreciate the input!

The one I mentioned above is smooth. The matte finish makes it feel more like high gloss paper than glass. I'm considering buying a clear protector from the same company though as the "sparkly" effect that the matte finish adds to the screen (esp. things that are solid green for some reason) is getting on my nerves.
I have the zagg invisibleSHIELD maximum protection, is was a little skeptical at first but really like it now the i have had it on for a coupke weeks. There is more grip to the tablet now, but i can still slide my fingers over the screen with no issues. I will say this though, if you have never installed something like this take your time whrn installing it.

Apologies if it has already been asked, i may have missed it.
I'd like to have a specific anti-glare screen protector, the glossy screen is not bad but still very reflective, a part from the usual fingerprints issue.
Any product that suits my needs?

Matte/Flat Screen Protectors?

Does anyone know where to get matte/flat/anti glare screen protector for the SIII? I've been looking everywhere and I can't find any. I don't need it for "screen protecting" purposes, I'm very careful with my phones. I just had one on my Sensation, and I loved the "flat" screen effect. It also offered less friction resistance.
Thanks in advance.

I know its about personal preference but why would anyone want to put a matte or flat on a screen as beautiful this one? That is one of the best features of this device in my mind..simply amazing. I hate having to put a screen protector on period but I don't want to scratch the screen so I use a screen protector that is as clear as the screen or at least close to. Anyways just my point of view.
You should be able to find your type of screen protector on amazon and sgp may have one that suits your needs. I know I saw a couple at Verizon Wireless store

I ordered one for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 from Amazon and it should arrive today. I couldn't get an answer as to whether it would fit so I decided to take the chance. It's only a few bucks anyways.

Eventually you will have to replace the screen protector. There are two schools of thought on this:
1. Buy really cheap screen protectors and replace them often,
2.Buy decent screen protector and you won't have to replace them too often.
I use photodon MXH, which are an "HD anti-glare" they provide some glare and fingerprint reduction, without sacrificing too much screen clarity. Everyone has a different opinion on which type to get (clear or matte), but my personal preference is the matte. I have had a Photodon MXH on my Cintiq for about a year and there are minimal scratches. So minimal that I don't notice. l'll be ordering a couple for the Galaxy note this weekend.

Screen Protector?
Just curious on why you want a screen protector for the Note 10.1. Is it scratch protection, glare reduction etc.
I've given up on screen protectors myself on all of my devices since gorilla glass and with the s-pen on the note 10.1 I would have thought a screen protector would impact the writing.
Thanks

I would agree to the fact that gorilla glass is supposed to be immune to scratches but I wouldn't bet my note on that and be left without it for it to get fixed. Hence a nice protector is not a bad idea IMO.

I would second Photodon screen protectors. I use it on my Lenovo X220T which also uses Wacom stylus and can confirm that it does note interfere with the stylus and is incredibly resilient. Photodon is also a pleasure to do business with and has excellent customer service.

Yes it is. If Best Buy had decent product knowledge they would know that the zagg sp won't work. Honestly, Zagg should know better too, but they are just out to make a buck.
I hope for your sake you returned it. If not you should because it really won't work with the pen.
It should also be noted that the Wrapsol and BestSkinsEver won't work either. Stick with the "hard" plastic dry install screen protectors. So far I'm having good luck with the matte rooCASE screen protector I got from amazon. I may wait on ordering the photodon.

Sure thing!
So I contacted Photodon and they gave me the dimensions for their screen protector.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (#5832-01) is cut to 242.5 x 170.5mm (9.5 x 6.7”); 5/16” corner radius; camera location 130mm from left and down 11mm.
Screens diagonally less than 17” - We normally subtract 1/2mm from each dimension to make installation a little easier, so please indicate if you like your film cut “exactly” to the measurements that you specify.
Can somone confirm that this is the same as the note 10.1?

Based on those measurements the screen protector will be a good fit with the note. The only thing that jumped out is the camera hole is 11mm to the bottom of the hole, not center so I'm not sure where they measure to. The corner radius looks correct too.
I ordered a screen protector for a Galaxy Tab 2 from amazon, just so I would have something quickly and it fits the Note perfectly. I like the Photodon stuff too, but this one I ordered is pretty good so far. I'll eventually grab a Photodon though. I ordered a decalgirl backing skin last night, but I know that's not going to fit perfectly, but it will provide good scratch protection the the back plastic since I don't use a case.

[REVIEW] COD iONIC Screen Protector - Anti-Glare vs Ultra Crystal

Hey Guys. Went ahead and purchased both the Anti-Glare and the Ultra Clear version of the COD iONIC screen protector for our Note 10.1 (2014 ed). Following prices are on Amazon as of Nov 1, 2013:
COD Screen Protector Film Matte (Anti-Glare) for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet (3-pack) - $4.85 (+$3.85 shipping)
COD Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet (3-pack) - $9.85 (free shipping with Prime)
I took a few up close pics with my DSLR to compare text clarity, and also have a video review to compare in addition to clarity, light diffusion, and how they work with the S Pen. Also did a video to better compare not only text clarity, but also light diffusion, and to show how well the S Pen works with each.
After using both of these protectors you really can't go wrong with either one. But if you plan on using the S Pen a lot, go with Ultra Crystal and you will be happy. If you want to see these pictures in higher resolution, checkout the source images on my Project Log.
Mr. Armageddon's Project Log
I'm going to keep both of these protectors on for the next few days, so if you guys have any questions, let me know. :good:
EDIT: One thing I forgot to note, the Anti-glare also does a good job hiding finger prints, whereas the Ultra Clear is a finger print magnet.
Nice Review!
I also installed a matte anti glare screen protector. The brand is kwmobile but the cutouts look awfully similar to the ones on the video.
Regarding the s-pen. I replaced the rubbery tip with the plastic one (those were provided with the tabled). This actually gives great pencil and paper feel and does not feel tacky at all.

also it might sound I'm stupid, I have an anti-glare pair of glasses which I bought to prevent eye strain...does the anti-glare screen protector is to prevent eye strain?! or I will still need to use the glasses for reading while using the tablet?

The Anti-glare cuts down on light reflection and diffuses overhead lights a bit. As to whether or not you will need to use your glasses, totally up to you.

Very nice review. I installed the matte screen protector yesterday, and I like it. But you definitely need to switch to one of the hard nibs for the s-pen. Otherwise, it "sticks" to the screen. Out of the five spare nibs that came with my tablet, two of them are the hard ones.

This should get better with time. I noticed that when I first applied the screen protector the stylus stuck, but over time this went way.
I bought a pack of anti - glare screen protectors from ebay and they are horrible, unbelievably grainy, render the beautiful screen useless lol...I do love the fact its anti-glare but whats the point when it makes the screen look terrible.
But I can't find COD screen protectors in the UK at the minute , Anyone using a good anti - glare screen protector in the UK...I want it to be like zero grainy as otherwise I'd just stick with a clear screen protector.
Sigh, I fail at applying these properly. I've already burned through my second and it still looks god awful. Hopefully my third and final attempt will be better because I keep misaligning the damn thing.
Edit: Okay so i managed to get the last one on perfectly..what I don't understand is WHY is there some random streaks of residue under the screen...?
Really unsatisfied here, I might just take this screen protector off when my case gets here. These streaks look really bad. Not even sure what its from. Also a little annoyed that the package showed up bent. After flexing the screen protectors a bit, there was still a slight bend, but they stuck on just fine. It's just the leftover residue that bothers me.

[Q] Anyone using screen protector on the tablet? or prefer naked style?

It appears to be personal taste: to have a screen protector on or not on the Samsung galaxy tab pro 8.4.
Well here's my view:
When I received my tablet I order a screen protector on amazon, armorshield, that would be delivered in 2 days.
In those 2 days i was experimenting with the tablet, and testing the screen sensibility and so on.
After Install the screen protector, and having it on for a week, i think Im gonna remove it.
It does give a layer of protection, but
gives more smudges on the screen, if not installed perfectly you can see the orange peel effect, or minuscule bubbles.
what you guys think?
do you you any protection at all ?
(tpu case, screen protector, folder, or naked)
I don't think you need it for a tablet and especially if you have a case for it. The only time I would have a screen protecter is on phones where I put it in my pocket all the time where I would have keys, loose change and other hard objects that rubs against the screen.

Agreed. I never even considered it for a tablet. And I personally refuse to put one on my phone.

Never liked them and don't use them for anything. I did use a case which I never have but use that for the ability to use the stand.
I used to use the tempered glass screen protectors on all my phones until recently. I purchased and applied the illumishield on my tab 8.4 and it works good. No screen clarity degrade or no sensitivity issue. The illumishield doesn't smudge as well as Spigen or Skinomi that I used in the past.
I have a screen protector on mine. A matte one that is finger print resistant.

hi,
how do you find the matt protector, i had one for my previous tablet (hp touchpad) and it made the screen less clear ... since the 8.4 screen is so good i dont want to spoil it .. do you notice any degrade in the image quality.. especially reading text?
Thanks in advance!

Everything looks good to me. I just went on AMazon and searched matte tab pro 8.4
I'm using protectors only for my mobile phones. My phone several falls on the ground on display side and the protector saved it. My friends have same experience, but he doesnt used protector and every time his mobile phone falls, he had broken display. On my tab pro i don't have any screen protector. I always have my tab in cover, so i don't think i can scratch display by hand. So for me is screen protector for tablets useless, but it depends how you use your tab.
Mobiles phones ever , Tablets never :good:
no screen protector nor any case for any of my tablet.
not even for phone. But carry phone in a leather case on belt
Only reason I installed a screen protector on mine was because the touchscreen is too sensitive without one. Every so often when I'm scrolling through something it ends up registering as a click. After installing the screen protector there's less of that happening.
Just take it slow when installing it and squeegee out all the air bubbles. On mine you can't even tell there's a screen protector.
But if you don't have any sensitivity issues, imo there's really no need for a screen protector. It's more likely the glass screen shatters or cracks from being dropped then to ever be scratched....
