Keep in mind, this method is not confirmed working if you're running android 2.3.x [ Gingerbread ]. So do not use this if you're running it. Also dual sim ones aren't supported from what I see it tempers with the phone, I haven't tested it but many have reported it doesn't work on dual sims.
Lets get started shall we? Firstly I have gathered up some useful resources that will help you get started. Make sure you read this guide first, from top to bottom. Then continue. As you must have a clear understanding on what you are going to attempt. If you have any queries don't hesitate to ask on the thread itself.

I have performed these exact steps and have successfully unlocked my bootloader and rooted the phone. So if you're worried. Don't be. After attempting this I haven't noticed any issues either.
Okay, first of all you will need to download Unlockbootloader ---> View attachment unlockbootloader.zip
Once you have downloaded the said .zip extract the .exe file inside the .zip to your desktop.
Continue by turning on USB debugging on your G300. if its already switched on then skip the part below..
Go into Settings>Developer Options and tick the USB Debugging option.
Once its switched on, plug your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
So far you've downloaded Unlockbootloader, have switched USB debugging on, and your phone is connected to your PC.
Now run the .exe file you have just extracted. Click "Root" and let it do everything, it will prompt up with a few warnings saying don't use your keyboard because CMD is running.
Once the setup finishes, your phone should be rooted.
Head into the app drawer, and if you see "SuperUser" you're now officially rooted.
Reboot your phone to finalize the rooting and exploits.
Ok, now for the bootloader.
Once your phone is on, and connected again to the PC with debugging mode on, run the .exe file again and this time click "Unlock BootLoader".
Wait for it to do its job, once done reboot again and you now have a Stock Rooted and Bootloader unlocked ICS phone.

Hi, assuming you have installed the g300 adb drivers, once the device is hanging on the boot logo and you connect the usb cable. You need to wait for windows to fully the load the adb driver before you use the unlockbootloader.exe program.

What you have to do is,turn on debug, then power off device fully by pulling off battery then putting it back in, now you must power on by golding the volume down button and power button at the same time, this should get it to be stuck on the huawei logo screen, now plug in your USB cable and wait for you PC to detect the phone and it should automatically install the devices driver's, one its done the now open the folder and run .BAT files, If you are experiencing problems here's a link for another guide : View

Hi,
After the "Unlock BootLoader", my phone doesn't boot. When the logo appears it stars to reboot again and never goes beyond that.
Any ideas ? Have I killed it ?

Turn ur phone completely off. By pulling out battery then apply the battery again.
Now hold volume down and power button and it should be in boot loader mode. If ur logo is stuck well this is in boot loader if not and it continues well.. idk

Hello krishneelg3,
I have tried a method on http://huaweig300.com but I'm stuck with the problem.
Installing USB drivers/Root/Backup IMEI went OK. Then by mistake I skipped the Step on page 5. Check Baseband and kept continued by Bootloader & ClockworkMod all went OK until the step 10. On page 6. After executing BootloaderG300.exe the phone rebooting cyclically, My operator screen appear for a approximately one second and the phone restarts again. How to resolve the problem and is there any hope to return to official ROM?
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

What was ur baseband and were u running gingerbread?
If u r on official ics then this guide is for u, if not notify me.
PS : If you are running Gb I refer you to look into this guide, as long as your phone can boot into bootloader your fine, and I'm sure it will boot into Bloader mode : http://www.modaco.com/topic/353386-how-to-root-your-huawei-ascend-g300-for-windows-mac-and-linux/

Thanks krishneelg3,
my baseband is 109808, and I'm running GB.
The problem is that I don't know if I'm in a Bootloader mode when I see a pink screen?
When I press VOLUME DOWN + POWER it starts same as when I press POWER, first logoo (in my case picture of my operator) it lasts for about few seconds, then phone reboots and start doing it cyclically.
The other thing is that, when I press VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP + POWER, it then turns into a pink screen.
In that state (pink screen), when I plug in my phone to my PC, PC recognize my phone without reading sd card or internall memory.
So what should I do?
Thanks man, really appreciate it!

Guys,
I solved the problem.
I've just followed the instructions in step 5. on the site http://huaweig300.com and put a new update.app (1 KB) and copy it to the dload. After that I've used main dload (ICS folder, aprox abot 600 MB) and everything updated and installed successfully.
Thanks.
p.s. if anyone has or had the same problem, do not hesitate to ask.

hi all
sorry to hijack the thread
I have just got my son an ascend 300 which is locked to vodafone
its on android 2.3.6
the build number is
u881v100r001c02b892
i have a download of HDU88151079V100R001C00B934 which is the ICS but i dont think that will work for my build
ideally i want ICS but dont mind too much waiting.
but i do want to be able to get of all the bloatware.
I guess i need to root to do this.
the link to the modaco site is down and it seems this is for those lucky enough to be on ICS
would i be better off upgrading to ICS then following the method above or would i be better finding a method to root under gb (If so where)
many thanks

OK get the official pics update b927* must be that build.
After its done downloading, extract its contents to your memorycard of the phone.
Make sure the update.app is in the root of SD card .
Then power off phone, remove battery re apply battery and hold the three buttons "volume up, volume down and the power button" until a screen pops up it will then install the stock ics once its done it'll reboot twice.
If only one it doesnt matter.
Setup the phone. Now to install b934 or newer versions use cwm for dazzozos repacks or the update force method. But I advice u to look for help on modaco. Thanks.
Modaco name : krishang3

krishneelg3
Thanks for that by b927* you are referring to a different version of HDU88151079V100R001C00B934 ?
where would i be able to get this from?
so this would give me the stock ics
what is the advantage of then installing HDU88151079V100R001C00B934 ?
Thanks

Your on gingerbread so your baseband Is 109808 and if u flash any b934+ stock using the combinations say goodbye to your phone. I did that to my brothers and it bricked.
So to get to ice you must install b927 version of ics then your baseband will change to the new one *2030* now you can flash any b934+ stocks because you now have the new baseband.
Go to modaco and enter the G300 forums and look at the first dew pages all the info and guides you need. Procedure is simple.

Well, apparently you don't know what you're talking about. There is no such thing as rooting on Windows Mobile. You're talking about HardSPL.
Did you install the HTC drivers or HTC Sync?
To find out whether your phone is rooted go into the bootloader (turn phone off, then hold volume down when you power it back on). When the bootloader starts up if it says "S-OFF" at the top of the screen you are rooted. If it says "S-ON" then you are not.

you could still downgrade with PC10IMG.zip file (download link in rooting guide on wiki). Than it should be working fine - but you loose root!

Try a different computer/USB cable?
Can ADB see your device when it's plugged in?
Are you S-OFF? If so, try flashing a different ROM and see if the problem goes away.
Like others said, too difficult to definitively say what's going wrong without you providing some more information.

how do you flash a custom rom, im stupid and cant find it :'( and btw this has to be through an sd card cause i think cant do nothing with my usb :/
do you have root permitions ? if so - download rom manager (at market), at first click on flash clockwork recovery and when its done take "download rom" - choose which one you want to and follow the steps that will rom manager tell you.
otherwise you could (after flashing recovery) put some rom to your sdcard, go to the recovery (power button + volume up; take care to not have pc10img file on your sdcard in that moment) - go to the recovery, wipe data /cache, advanced - wipe battery status / dalvik; back , instal zip - choose zip file with rom - and you are ready to go.

What did you try to do actually?
It's a phone sync software and not a ROM update which you have mentioned.
It seems that there might be problem with your battery. Check it first.

Is your phone's Bootloader unlocked?
If your bootloader is unlocked and your device rooted, install CWM Recovery via ADB, then download your ROM as a ZIP and install using CWM.
If you're not unlocked/rooted, do that first, again via ADB.

today i pressed both vol + and down and pressed power button.. the phone gave 7 vibrations and its LED turned on.

[GUIDE] Method for Rooting Nitro HD P930 AT&T V20c

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a much easier way to root this ROM.
Skip this guide and use this method instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
I'm making this thread to explain the method for obtaining root privileges on the AT&T V20c ROM on the Nitro HD (P930). This really is the easiest way that is currently known, so please don't ask me if there is a simpler method.
This method will NOT allow you to install a custom recovery on your phone. If you want to install custom ROMs, you should follow the unbricking guide instead.
I should also make it clear that if you do follow the unbricking guide, you can install custom recovery and install HO!NO!'s flashable V20c ROM, which is already rooted. If you prefer this route, can you find more information about it here and here. The below process is only if you want to keep your phone as stock as possible with the only difference being that you will have root access.
Note that you will lose all your settings during this process!
1) Make sure you have the LG drivers installed. If you don't, install the drivers from this page: http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/ATT_Update/index.jsp
2) Install the AT&T ICS leak ROM (v18f) here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/26138-firmware-p930-udt-v18f-04112012-nitro-hd-ics-leak/ . Connect your phone to your computer, run P930_UDT_v18f_04112012.exe, and it will install the V18f ROM for you. If you can't get it to recognize your phone, then put your phone in download mode and try again. To access download mode, disconnect the USB cable from the phone, and make sure the phone is completely off. Then hold down the volume up button while inserting the USB cable. The phone will turn itself on (don't press the power button) and should say "download mode" on the screen. Then let go of the volume up button.
If you get an error when trying to run the v18f installer, right-click on the installer and select "Run as administrator". I'm not sure why sometimes this is necessary but other times it's not.
3) Once the V18f ROM has been flashed successfully, skip through the initial setup screens until you get to the home screen. Then go to Settings > Developer options and enable "USB debugging". Important: You must disconnect the USB cable before the option can be enabled! Then return to the home screen.
4) Reconnect the USB cable. Select "PC software" mode if it asks. Then download v20c_root.rar at the bottom of this post. Extract it wherever you want, then run TPSparkyRoot.bat. Your phone will automatically reboot multiple times during this process. After each reboot, wait until the phone is fully booted, then press a button to continue the program.
5) After TPSparkyRoot is finished, go to the KeepRoot folder and run Before.bat. After a few seconds, press enter in the command prompt window to close the window.
6) Next, go to http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/ATT_Update/index.jsp and download and run the "LG Mobile Support Tool". If you already have it installed, you can simply run it. Follow along with the instructions to let it update your phone back to V20c. If you can't get it to recognize your phone, then put your phone in download mode and try again. (See step 2 above for instructions on how to access download mode.) Special note: If you have previously added the line 127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com to your hosts file as instructed by the unbricking guide, you must REMOVE the line before this step will work!
Important: After the phone finishes flashing, your phone will be stuck on the boot screen and will never finish booting. This is supposed to happen! Continue to the next step. If your phone boots up completely, something went wrong -- start from the beginning and make sure you didn't skip a step!
7) Once your phone is stuck on the boot screen, run the AfterROOT.bat from the KeepRoot folder.
8) Your phone will still be stuck on the boot screen. At this point, you should disconnect your USB cable, then pull the battery from your phone to force it to turn off. Reinsert the battery, then press and hold both the "volume down" and "power" buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. You should eventually see a screen asking you if you want to perform a hard factory reset. Let go of the buttons when that appears, then press the power button twice to confirm.
9) If everything went correctly, your phone will now boot up normally with V20c installed and rooted! Check your apps to see if the "Superuser" app is there -- if so, you're rooted! Congratulations!
Please let me know if you have any issues or if you find anything is inaccurate in this guide. Thanks.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a much easier way to root this ROM.
Skip this guide and use this method instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
For anyone wondering, a similar method can be used for unbricking as well. I may get around to making a guide for that, but since there's already a working method it's not that critical.
Thanks, u explain steps clearly, I will try it on my nitro

That's normal. You have to follow the instructions. Press a button in that window after the phone reboots itself. You have to reboot I think 3 times for that part.

Again, this has been stated multiple times, but if you missed it, you can go through the unbricking guide (It's really NOT that hard) and then flash HO!NO!'s CWM-Flashable ICS ROM, which will allow you to retain CWM and have root. Just my 2 cents. Kudos to you though drumist, brianlili's rooting guide died a while ago, and this one is simpler to understand. It should be stickied.

This guide is specifically for the AT&T Nitro HD. Do you have a P936?
If you don't have the AT&T version of the phone, I'd suggest going with the unbricking guide and flashing HO!NO!'s flashable version of V20c, if you want that ROM.

OK, then it should work. If you have a modified hosts file (because of running the unbricking guide in the past), you need to remove the line you added before you can continue this guide. I'll add a note about that to the guide.
Finally, i completed restore my nitro to v20c stock, thanks u . Btw, with the unbricking guide, my KDZ FW UPD shows "Normal web upgrade test" not the "CSE web upgrade test" and i see many people have this problems though the flashing progress completed. Do you have exp to fix it ? I'm running win 8 pro 64bit

[Q] Bootloop, can't access Recovery Mode

Hi All!
I've checked all similar threads but I haven't found any solution to my problem, hence this post.
I was trying to root Samsung Note 2 and install Cyanogenmod but rooting failed
The current problem:
1. Samsung Note 2 has ended up in a bootloop after failed rooting
2. I can't boot the phone in the Recovery Mode
3. The USB Debugging Mode was not activated
4. I can't turn on the phone
Description:
I was trying to root my friend's Samsung Note 2 using the following method from this website http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291827
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)

The problem is that by mistake I used a wrong CF-Auto-Root... file and instead of this file CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip which was designed for Samsung Note 2 I used a file which I was using before for my own phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip
Result 1: The rooting process got frozen and I had to disconnect the USB cable connecting the phone with the computer.
Result 2: Black screen, I couldn't boot the phone.
Next, I used the same rooting method but with the correct CF-Auto-Root... file.
Result 3: Bootloop. The phone boots up when I press the power button but when I see the first screen with a white "Samsung Note 2" on a black background, the phone reboots again and the process repeats itself for ever.
Result 4: I can't boot the phone in recovery mode. When I press the Volume Up+Power+Home buttons, the phone reboots and keeps rebooting instead of going into recovery mode.
Result 5: The USB Debugging Mode was not activated before rooting. Since I can't turn on the phone I can't activate the mode now. All solutions to my problem that I've seen require having USB Debugging Mode activated.
Could anyone help me and suggest what to do, please?
I don't know much about how mobile phone works but I can follow instructions if I know what to do.
I rooted my own mobile phone and installed Cyanogenmod successfully. I wanted to do the same with my friend's phone who was fed up with bloated and slow manufacturer's firmware.
I hope you can help me. Thank you.
I really don't know why so many users try to root before flashing a custom rom -> it is simply useless and as shown in this example dangerous, when a false root method or file is chosen.
You need:
1. Custom recovery, flash through ODIN, I think latest TWRP will do the job
2. Flash your desired custom rom through above recovery, (if needed: GApps also)
3. Flash SuperSu if needed (read in OP of that rom) done
If number 1 won't work, you got to flash firmware from sammobile first using ODIN
and then take steps 1, 2, 3

Thank you very much for your quick reply.
I've done everything as you advised me to and... it worked!
Firstly, I installed TWRP, I wiped all files on the phone, downloaded Cyanogenmod to external SD card, installed Cyanogenmod through TWRP and all done! I also installed the minimum version of Gapps and it's all I need.
Thank you SO much for your help. twdeim which

As I said, everything I mentioned before went fine but there is one problem. The system doesn't detect the network as if the SIM card wasn't inserted. I double checked everything and I have no idea what that is.
I installed CyanogenMod version 11-20140715-NIGHTLY-n7100 with android version4.4.4.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.
Many thanks!

The problem originated from the fact that my IMEI got lost somewhere during failed rooting/flashing. I've flashed with the stock firmware which retrieved my IMEI and the phone connected to the network as usual. After the phone was brought back to the fully operational state, I used CyanogenMod installer for Mac and I successfully installed CM, and it works like a dream.
I hope it will help. Good luck!

I understand that you are asking if there is a CyanogenMod installer for Windows. Yes, there is, particularly for Windows http://beta.download.cyanogenmod.org/install
Just copy of my posts in another thread as this one is more relevant to my problem I think:
Good afternoon gents and girls, I have a bit strange problem wonder if anyone can get a bit of light on it. My Mrs's GT-7100 one day was stuck on boot up screen. I thought is was corrupt tried to do factory reset. Didn't work out read about is decided to flash it with a different official ROM for that installed twrp-3.0.2-0-t03g.img.tar and was trying to do a lot of different things within TWRP mode. As I'm not familiar with flashing process I guess didn't do it properly BUT! While doing it all over sudden I realised that the phone is actually working while connected to external power it shows charge and goes upto 100% but as as soon as it disconnected from main power source it starts to reboot constantly again stuck at the same boot screen again, till reconnected to power source again, then goes in to fool boot and functions properly making and receiving phone calls. The charge shown on the battery drops from 100% to 4-7% in a matter of the boot up time which is say 5-10 seconds.
Tested by multimeter battery shows 4.32V. I can't test battery under load, but will endeavor to do so by a test light. I have a bit strange problem wonder if anyone can get a bit of light on it.
So any thoughts?
I suspect the battery is not the issue. I have 2 external banks which are holding the charge to keep running Galaxy 3 8.0 up to 2-3 hours in use. Both of them are 5.2V 1A and having GT-7100 connected to them doesn't help to boot up the phone. Olso 5V 0,5A charger of Bluebery either, only Samsung 2A charger gets the GT-7100 back to fanctioning mode. When phone is booted up it shows
The ROM Version it is N7100XXUFND3,
Kernel version 3.0.31-152758,
Build number
KOT49H.N7100XXSFQA1

I want to root my ZE551ML but I don't know what to do pls help.

I tried to root my phone last night, but I stop midway of the process because of some problems like "phone not turning on with no vibrate at all when I restart after its stuck to inverted white screen, when I luckily turn it back on but it bootloops".
Heres the details:
I run unlock.bat then after its done it reboots with inverted white screen with logo then I run restore.bat and after it restart there is no sign of warning "failed verification" until it fully loads up, I go back to fastboot again to flash TWRP after running twrp.bat it says "flash succesfully" and the program closed by itself, then I go to recovery mode after rebooting I saw android error just like how it use to be. I press power button + volume up then release the volume up then I see the stock recovery (which it should be TWRP since I've done flashing it).
I think that my bootloader is still locked since there's no warning display of "failed verification". So I repeat the steps again after running unlock.bat, it reboots and the screen is inverted but it's stuck up to white logo, I waited for a while but nothing happens so I tried to reboot my phone "holding power button (power off)" when power on, it wont turn on, no vibration just a sound on laptop "connected sound and disconnected sound" I tried to power it on many times but still no luck I got panicked, jittery walking back and forth :crying:. Then I disconnect the usb cable and I tried to turn it on and suddenly I feel the vibration on my phone then it boots up but still stuck in white screen then it restart after keeping it for too long (while watching videos related to my problem)...
then my friend here said "ohh it bootloop" he read the instruction and he said to try this
"FAQ 1. Stuck at white screen with asus logo?
Sol. a) White screen means you are unlocked (action of unlock.bat), so you may give a try to restore.bat in fastboot mode."
and it solve my problem my phone is working again ... But I want to continue to root it but I'm afraid which steps I should go next, I still don't see the warning "failed verification" after my phone boots up and works again... I need HELP thank you
I also got question: is my bootloader unlock since it inverted white screen? or it still locked since there no sign of warning "failed verification"?

ahmm I think this?
model number: ASUS_Z00AD
android version: 6.0.1
software information: WW_4.21.40.223_20161216
P.S my phone is back on working state.
I just don't know if I can proceed to root after the incident. I don't know, I just want to make sure that my bootloader is still unlocked after what I've done (it did white screen with black asus logo) or.... it doesn't unlocked at all since I don't see this warning "your device has failed verification and may not work properly." (I've attach screenshot from the video tutorial)
I tried to manualy check if my bootloader is really on unlock state but I can't using these methods
method 1: on device’s dialer dial *#*#7378423#*#* (failed)
method 2: fastboot oem device-info (failed)
my recovery it still on stock recovery even after I flash twrp
btw guide source: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/root-install-xposed-marshmallow-6-0-1-t3456443
Q: should I still continue to flash twrp until it install?
Theres 2 bootloader unlock tools in general section , one is automatic
Read this from start to finish before doing anything.. also have on another device to refer to as you are doing the steps also download the ROM and gapps you want and put on SD card before you start even if you have to download them and move them from PC to SD card. https://plus.google.com/113955136844726294013/posts/aLJdNZN3g8q

I've haven't fully read the instruction maybe tomorrow I will read it.
I just downloaded the files early and look into it... it seems like the versions are kinda latest (I don't know much about the droidboot ver. but I just look at the number on it "the higher the latest /heh") also the twrp is 3.0.3.
the ones that I used are all in package and it was 3.0.2 so I kinda go for the link you gave me
Thanks :good:
