[Q] Hoe to change standard keyboard with a another one with root explorer - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

I really wanna change my standard keyboard with a another one (in this case swift keyboard I like it because I like to type very fast and I can do this with this keyboard and that is very handy). Any help is welcome
This message was sent with my Samsung galaxy gio

Why you don't replace it in system/apps?

place at system/app,set permissions, set input method as swiftkey and rename the other sammy keyboard to .bak and reboot

Ever thing has going good but can't seem to find Samsung standard keyboard but there is one currently using speriance from snowplume

Its called something like ax12arjs.apk

bad samsung...
going to block S voice on other devices by connecting to a server wich will block s voice without any coe of galaxy-s3 in it...
maybe there comes a workaround, but it looks like it doesn't work any more..
The S-Voice APK, which contained services that were exclusive to the Galaxy S III, allowed owners of other Ice Cream Sandwich-powered smartphones to install Samsung’s new voice assistant (its Siri rival) and perform commands on their devices.
It appears that in the last 24 hours, Samsung (and it’s partner Vlingo, the technology behind the voice functions) have begun detecting requests from non-supported devices and blocking them, displaying the message: ”Network Error. Please Try Again.”
Click to collapse
By sending a string of data that identifies the device generating the requests, Vlingo can proactively block any device that shouldn’t have access to S-Voice. However, this does mean that it could be possible to spoof the device ID of an unsupported device, fooling Vlingo into processing requests again.

I would rename your current calender to .bak instead of .apk so you still have it. Then using root explorer move this apk to system/apps the long press it. Click change permissions and I believe they should be set to rw/r/r. Good luck!

It's pretty simple. However this process still did not work on my rooted SGSII. But for future reference of these types of system files here ya go.
- Use Root Explorer to place the file in the System/App folder in the directory
- If the new file is a different name then you can easily just place it in that folder ( of course you have to change Root Explorer to R/O mode instead of R/W mode ) - ( if its the same name then just rename the old file to something you can remember )
- Permissions for most apps would be RW, R, R. Just click on the file and select "Permissions". After you do that you do need to re-boot the device to save the settings.
Note: I did try this with this calendar and it did not work. We actually need a SSGSIII Calendar ported to work on an SGII. I am not smart enough to make that happen. Although I would like to be able to do such things someday. Hope this helps at least for future reference.
I'm pledging $10 towards the Dev who can get the S-Calendar ported yo the T-Mobile SGS-2. Maybe more if it is done by Monday. I know it's not a lot, but it's what I can give.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this seemed like the most relevant place to post.
I recently put CarbonROM on my phone and, after playing around with it for a bit, realize I absolutely hate the google calendar and just want my old calendar back. I downloaded the apk provided in this thread and attempted to install it but it says I already have the app. Sure enough, if I go to Settings > Apps, it shows up as Calendar Storage, but there is no icon anywhere, such as in my app drawer, that allows me to load the program. I even tried using QuickShortcutMaker, but it can't find the calendar anywhere in the list of apps to make a shortcut. Does anybody know what I can do?
Same situation here with carbon Rom.
Anyone know how to get it working?

I am not sure, but it would seem, S Planer doesn't work on any other ROM than the Samsung Official ROM.
I don't know why... I've testing a lot of possibilities (replace the original AOKP's apk by the Samsung's apk, do a wipe Dalvik, wipe cache, modify the permissions...), a lot of apk (recovered here, recovered on an original v4.1.2 samsung's ROM, recovered on the testing v4.2.2 Samsung ROM...), and it never work on my CyanoGen Mod 10.1...
It isn't an incompatibility with an other home than TouchWiz because I've never use this home with my previous Samsung's ROM and S Planer working correctly...
I will continue to looking to do working S Planer with an other ROM, but I have little hope... :crying:

[REQ] HTC_IME keyboard for jellybean

Been looking amd trying every version and it all does not work woth jellybean. Is there a keyboard similar to this also?
I once was a user of HTC IME, a long time user actually. I switched to SwiftKey, and use the light theme, which looks similar to HTC IME stock. I haven't looked back since due to SwiftKey having far superior prediction / auto correct. Just my two cents, if this doesn't help, good luck on the hunt.

Easy flashable zip for full emoji support ( ios type )

Ive searched almost everywhere i could and was never able to find an easy fix for the ios type emoji's ... So i made a flashable zip( using titanium) that enables the ios emoji keyboard from flipz xylon rom, it works with any rom including stock 4.2.2 . Tried it on three different phones . All the work goes to Flipzmode for maintaining the rom and having emoji support . If this is breaking the rules in anyway , im sorry in advance lol.
THERES NO NEED TO CHANGE PERMISSIONS OR MOVE FILES IN A ROOT EXPLORER.
JUST WIPE CACHE BEFORE FLASHING.
Thanks for the great mod.
Do you know of any mod to add an emoji button on the keyboard instead of accessing them from the menu?
this mod includes that. you just go into message settings after and checkmark emoji support and quick emoji button

Stock keyboard doesn't have autocorrect..?

Has anyone else realized that the stock keyboard that comes with the s4 doesn't autocorrect your words unless you use Swype. It sucks because this is the first keyboard which I actually like -_-

Actually the absence of auto correct is not Samsung's fault. It's the result of Apple law suit last year and in the end consumers, you and I, are at loss. One of the several reasons I will never stand for this evil company (Apple).

Yeah its a shame. I love the Samsung keyboard, especially having the row of numbers up top, but I can't do without auto correct, so I'm just using Jelly Bean keyboard from the Play Store.
But if there is an international version with auto correct I'd love to get my hands on it.

The odex file seems to be corrupt and the samsung apk is missing the clases.dex file, the classes.dex file has the smali that needs edited to enable autocorrect, Can you give us the source of where you got this file?
