[Review] Rearth- Ringbo Ultimate Clear Plus+ Screen Protector - Galaxy S III Accessories

Found this on amazon and thought it looked good. Reviews were ok, but I hadnt seen anyone mention it on here for the SGS3.
Price Paid: $11.99 plus shipping. $17.09 Total
Purchased From: Amazon.com
Specs:
Clear Optic Polyester
Thickness 0.15mm
Oleophobic coating to reduce fingerprints
3H~4H Surface Solidity
Pros:
-Very nice packaging. Very clear and concise instructions.
-Came with screen cleaning cloth and plastic squeegee.
-Comes in a two pack, I installed both on 2 different phones.
-Hard to notice it when installed.
-Initially felt a little tacky, but after a day now, screen feels almost like glass.
-No issues so far
Cons:
-Doesnt come all the way to the edge of the screen, this can be considered good/bad. Due to phone design, these types of protectors have to be cut smaller to not lift off. But I notice the protector is the exact width of the display screen, almost barely "too skinny" (pics should show what I mean)
Overall, Im very happy with it. It fits PERFECTLY with a Casemate Tough. The protector comes right to the edge of the case. So my phone is almost completely covered. There should be no issues at all with the phone case lifting the protector, as they arent touching anywhere.
I did mess up a little on the application on one of the phones, so its not perfectly squared up on the phone, but Im worried I will wreck it if I try to remove it and re-position it.

The Rearth website is very nice and they have tons of info about their products, down to materials used and how they make their screen protectors. Pleasantly surprised by that.

I used this on my S3 before I got my defender case and went back to Best Skin Ever. This is the best dry protector I've used thus far. I love the fact that it comes with 2 also. I have one more left, some day I may go back to it.
I agree though...this protector is awesome and very clear and I'm not even a fan of dry applications! :good:

I have the same protector on my s3..fit and feel are great, but mine already has micro scratches in certain "high traffic" areas...

At least theyre on the screen protector and not on the screen itself. Also it's only visible under direct sunlight and you have to be really looking for them.

Thanks for the detailed review and pics! Just put in an order for a pack :]

I had this brand screen protector in my HTC Thunderbolt for more then 8 months without a problem, its in my Amazon wish list already. So far the screen protector i bought at a VZW store is holding on very good for $14

BasalGuardz Screen protector for GNexus - Unboxing and Review

Hello,
I have placed order for the Basalguardz Ultra-Clear Anti-Fingerprint screen protectors. What attracted me the most is the very low price
compared to all screen protectors in the market, while still shipping with 3 films and all necessary tools to install on your phone.
Here is the unboxing:

Here is the protector on the phone:
Now, let me jump into the good stuff and bad stuff about this protector:
Pro's
1- Extremely cheap compared to any protector in the market, considering the fact that you get 3 films in one pack for the price of 2 films
by other providers.
2- Brilliant customer services, I only had to contact their head office in US and they set me up with a direct shipping off Hong Kong (As
as living in Middle East and it's way cheaper and faster to ship via HK mail).
3- Above average packaging with proper instructions on the pack and a packing slip for extra assurance that you get the right protector
before opening the pack.
4- Goes all the way to the edges, which is good in the sense that you got your screen fully protected.
Con's
1- The way the screen protector is installed is very weird: Normally other competitors will place "Remove to install" striker on the top on
the screen to allow for a better alignment above the earpiece and front facing camera. However, BasalGuardz decided to place that at the
bottom! Not sure why would that be considered a good idea! I had to remove the protector couple of times in order to properly
align in and end result, alot of dust got in between and my end install isn't the cleanest.
Here is a picture to explain:
2- Goes all the way to the edges, which is bad in the sense that you might have dust on the edges (especially at the bottom) since the
screen is curved and that could cause dust to slip in and screw things up for you!
3- The texture on the screen is very clear yet it feels very sticky and it doesn't necessary keeps the fingerprints off the actual surface,
still catch some oil and fingerprints (not very visible but still not as marketed).
Overall rating: 3.5/5
Would I recommand this? to be hoenst, I don't think so! beacuse it's very hard to align the protector with the peel happeing from the
bottom unless you are really a professional, not to mention that it's very easy to have fingerprints all over it so techinically speaking
they are selling you a product that doesn't do what it's suppose to do!
Let me know what do you guys think. Anyone else used it, shout out your short review!
Regards,,,
Thanks for the review. I would love a fingerproof protector but hate the blurry matte ones. Don't want to waste a bunch of money finding a good one.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Go get the SGP Oleophobic .. brilliant stuff ( still doesn't cover the majority of the screen which may look dodgy sometimes )
I emailed BasalGuardz with my review and this is this their reply:
Thank you.
That placing the tabs at the top was something that we probably need to be doing. It does indeed make it easier with this phone.
As far as the anti-fingerprint. It will certainly greatly reduce the fingerprints without the need for a matte surface, which some people do not like. Personally, I love the matte protectors. Others want more clarity. I just do not like the "sticky" feel of clear protectors.
It will not, however, keep every fingerprint off. It your hands are incredibly sweaty or dirty, then it would certainly not help in that case.
Thank you,

Yeah Trident did the same thing w/ their screen protectors putting the tab on the bottom.. stupidest thing I've ever seen.
You are complaining that they put the tabs on the bottom, really? Just stick a piece of tape on the top and start from there. Tape is a necessity when installing cling protectors like these anyways.

[Q] What Nice Screen Protector do you recommend?

I'm wondering what you guys think is the ultimate screen protector for the Galaxy note 2! I have always used invisible shield but I felt like it would be to... well for lack of better wording "sticky" with the s-pen.
I ordered a Spigen Ultra Crystal and while it is not as smooth for the s-pen as the naked screen is, it is acceptable to me. However, the thing was not easy to get on straight (I am insanely OCD obout that) and I got it on, but i guess it is too low since the bottom wont seal all the way (the GN2 glass is curved?) I don't like that
- The screen protector must be very statically charged because it picks up little particles of stuff like crazy.
- It is also a fingerprint Magnet.
- It doesn't cover as much of the screen as i would like (not a huge deal and it might be intentional because of the curved glass)
So... what screen protectors do use guys like that work well with the s-pen? Preferably between $10 and $60
(also, please no posts about how screen protectors are useless and gorilla glass blah blah)
I'm waiting for invisible shield hd which feels like glass and doesn't distort the display. Running a cheap one for now until that is available.
Regurgitated From My Giant Note II
Phantomskinz and ghost armor are my favorite
Clear protector is just as good as ZAGG HD. They have Note 2 available now.
Think we are going to have a hard time finding a perfect one. I have the ghost armored installed. Way better then the zagg but it is a little soft. Leaving imprints if you push down with your Spen. Might be able work them out by warming the screen up but haven't tried.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Just installed. You want this.
There's two types of screen protectors -- flexible / rubberish like zagg or hard / plastic like this.
You do not want the flexible ones. Pen wont work well with those flexible screen protectors, you'll get orange peel distortion.
You want this. Clear and no distortion.

have always used and loved the ones from http://bodyguardz.com, great protection, feel great, they send you 2 sets and have lifetime replacement, all you pay for is shipping, plus they have these newer "carbon fiber" styled ones that I really like.
I installed my Spigen protector in the bathroom right after I got out of the shower. With a steamy bathroom, all the dust particles stay on the ground therefore dustless and perfect install.

The install went fine with my spigen and there isn a anything between the protector and the glass but after I installed it dust and stuff would attract to the screen protector. It stopped for some reason now and im pretty happy with it now unless I see something better on here
Thanks for all the replies so far, it seems like there are quite a few good ones to try haha.
Never used screen protectors before, but I have heard that this screen gets many scratches on it very quickly...so, with that in mind, I want a high quality protector...no matter the cost. Is the Zagg HD a hard protector (like recommended for the S-Pen) or is it soft just like all their other protectors? Also, how is the spiegen protector?
im using armorsuit militaryshield on the entire phone. it works great

Review of iSmooth Nexus 7 HD screen protector and Cleaning Kit w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of iSmooth Nexus 7 HD (2013 version) screen protector and Installation/Cleaning Kit. http://ismooth.com/collections/screen-protectors/products/nexus-7-hd-ultra-clear-screen-protector and http://ismooth.com/collections/inst...installation-and-cleaning-kit-individual-size
When it comes to screen protectors it's very easy to get overwhelmed with all the choices. Especially when you are looking for a film screen protector rather than tempered glass. You can get lost in a pool of all those cheap ebay sp claiming HD quality while selling half a dozen for a few dollars. What you get is a thin cheap film and a tiny synthetic piece of cleaning cloth, and sometime they arrive with only one peel off protective side cover. I went through a number of those back when I was looking for Note 2 screen protector, all of which ended up in a garbage until I discovered iSmooth by searching amazon where I discovered them as one of the top selling brands of film screen protectors. At that time I actually got both iSmooth and Spigen, but found iSmooth to be of the same quality, easier to install, with more accessories, two screen protectors in the package instead of one, and cheaper.
Two essential pieces of protection before you start using your tablet are the screen protector and the case. Still waiting for my cases, but received my iSmooth screen protector already. So what makes it special? First of all, quality of the film. This is not a cheap thin film but rather 3H hardness PET film. Even before you apply it to your tablet, you can feel in your hands how thick and rigid it is. Then, you get a top support where even if you mess up both of the films and explain what happened, they will take care of you with a replacement. Not to mention they put out plenty of YT instruction videos with installation tips. Don't forget, you also get lifetime guarantee. Oh, and it comes with other accessories too. You get 4 dust removal stickers, comes very handy and eliminates a need for making those scotch tape sticky loops You also get a generous size microfiber cleaning cloth, very high quality, and they also include a written installation instructions.
Speaking of microfiber cloth, that is one of the things that really make iSmooth stand out from a crowd. For anybody who had their screen protectors before, you will know what I mean. The size of those cloth pieces is rather larger and it's made out of high quality material. For sure you will end up using it later for your other smart devices. And since their microfiber cloth became so popular, they actually released a separated installation/cleaning kits that include multiple pieces. For my review I got Individual Size package which also included bonus dust removal stickers. A package like this would be very useful for cleaning any/all of your smartphones, tablets, glasses, etc.
Now, back to the screen protector. The install was very easy, but you have to be careful to space the film within borders to make sure especially top/bottom edges stick to the screen. During install, make sure you are in a dust free area and also keep in mind cloth you are wearing because static of screen protector is strong enough to pull any specks off your sweater or whatever else you are wearing during install. Pretty much, it went on easy, no bubbles at all. I had a few specks of dust which I removed with included stickers, no problem. Screen protector really covers display edge to edge, and makes it hard to tell it's even on. The only giveaway is a cutout around front facing camera.
Overall, I was very satisfied with a quality of the product, ease of installation, amount of included accessories, and the PRICE!!! Speaking of the price, I noticed that www.ismooth.com has a cheaper price than it's on Amazon, $12.97 vs $15.97, so I would recommend buying it directly from their website. Furthermore, they provided me with a special DISCOUNT code of DHPMIDXX0OAA where 15% will be taken off any item during checkout which means you can get this screen protector package for $11. I definitely highly recommend it!!!

Glass screen protector finally available for XT1080 Droid Ultra/Droid Maxx

After exhausting most searches for a Glass screen protector, it looks like an ebay seller finally has one for our Droid Maxx/Ultra phones XT1080
http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=321532232355
I will post a report once I have it in hand and on my phone.
Looking forward to your review! I'm running the Skinomi screen protector and it's been great so far but this is definitely something to look at after this one wears out.
just curious when tempered glass stick on the edge screen, is there any gap?

I dont think that there should be one. Looking at other screen protectors, they only are
over the screen and are ending on both sides right before the glass gets round. I hope you understand what i am trying to say. The protector wont go completely to the edges. But i am looking forward to that test/review too.
Application: VERY easy to apply. I let it drop on to the phone and it was floating on the phone, letting me make minor adjustments to even out the sides. I followed the install tip of "touching the center of the phone to let the adhesive spread", which actually worked. There is a small <1mm border where the adhesive hasn't fully set. I am hoping that this sets fully over time-otherwise it will attract dust.
Coverage: It covers more than 100% of the active display but leaves about 5% of the Motorola glass uncovered. This is good for me, since I use a Diztronic TPU case, and screen protectors that are too close to the edges end up peeling with TPU covers.
HUGE improvement to image clarity, viewing angle, and feel. The whole phone seems to be higher resolution. 90% reduction in fingerprints/dirt/resistance. I am using 0.1% brightness using Gsam screen dimmer, and it looks so much brighter than before indoors!
Since only one manufacturer brought this XT1080 case to market, I'd have been happy even at a much higher price. I am ordering a few more for spares in case I ever need them and find them discontinued/unavailable.

Great find, though I am still a bit confused on what this product does.
Is this a screen protector or something else?
How does it make the display look better than the original?
Great find... I've been trying to find tempered glass for my Maxx for months. I ordered one of these for about $6 (dirt cheap!), and am liking it so far. I'm curious, though... Have the edges of your tempered glass adhered yet? Mine has been on for a few days, and the edges are still not grabbing completely. My Maxx lives in a Trident case (Kraken, I think), so the edges of the screen protector are pretty much covered. Just wasn't sure if there was any trick to the application that I missed...
After a week the top and bottom of mine never fully 'seated'. Doesn't affect the viewable part of the the screen but looks kinda crappy. Put the same product on an iPhone 5S and it went on completely correct from the start. Makes me wonder if it was me or the protector.
Since I have several, I took one off and applied a second due to the outer edges not making full contact. The manual refers to letting the 'adhesive spread', however there is no adhesive. It simply clings to the clean phone surface. I placed the first screen protector on the middle of my LCD monitor. totally clear all the way to the edges.
I think the Droid Maxx screen isn't 100% flat, perhaps as a result of the (LACK) of precision that led to both of my XT1080's having a terrible creaking noise on the side.
Despite this nuisance, I like the feel of the glass cover more every time I use it. I'm actually fearful of the Droid Turbo launch now--in case glass covers are not available on launch day.
$95? Presumably the seller jacked up the prices on these.... That's crazy. The privacy version is less than $10.
literally, I think is the best protector

I went through some of the sellers feedback, noticed that some say it is plastic and not glass... I would think it's glass, so just wanted to make sure. Can anyone that purchased from this eBay seller confirm.
Also noticed the price decreased since it's under $6 shipped now.
It is definitely real tempered glass.... When I took my first one off, it took very little to crack it. the bottom layer touching the phone was the only thing keeping the pieces of glass held together at that point.
The XT1080, like the Droid Turbo, Note 4, and IPhone 6, have glass that curves at the edges. These rigid screen protectors don't fully attach at the edges causing a halo effect.
Companies have been revising their Note4 designs to address this but they are basically just making the screen covers smaller with more of the screen uncovered.

TGSP or SKIN recommendations?

Anyone have some experience with some nice tgsp or skins for the mate20?
I ordered some stuff, but it's not in yet..
lemme start this topic off..
Guys dont buy the 4D TGSP from DrPhone it's a rip off!!
The picture happened after I tried to align the TGSP to the upper right corner. Also look at the teardrop is also not aligned correctly
Also the lower part of the screen was covered, but that isn't clear because it's all black.
I got some more tgsp coming in..
1. Doesnt cover whole front panel
2. Covers bits of all 4 sides of the screen when placed in the middle
3. No curved edges
total rip off!!!

Thanks for the warning. You did not like the standard pre-installed factory screen protector?
I have removed the screen protector because it is much more smoother to use and the pre-installed screen protector was a fingerprint magnet.
I bought a slim cover case with auto wake and sleep when opening and closing. It protects the phone more than enough.
I do like the pre-installed one, but it's a fingerprint and dust magnet?
So yeah I wanna go TGSP, camera lens protector and back skin.
I ordered 2 dbrand skins and just a regular transparent kevlar (print) skin.
But soo many tgsp sellers are just cheating people with their bs =/
and yeah i've also noticed the phone is soo much smoother when no protector applied! but I hope glass will improve the touch than plastic =)
I ordered this :

You can't go wrong for €1,52
yet another tgsp from drphone.. bad quality..
funny how they say its made this way so you can use a case...
You cover the screen so ppl can use a case? ****!!! are they blind or do they think we're stupid? =/
damn scamming sellers everywhere
Anyway.. next week I have the tgsp from eiger, nilkin, icall and just in case coming in.
I will test them and post the results here.
If the fit isn't right I won't stick it on my phone so I can return it and get a refund.
I'll rank them from "best" to worst, but I'm very disappointed with the results:
1. Nilkin: Barely cover the whole screen. So it looks very ugly and small. And the glass will " cut" you. No 2.5/3D glass.
(All the 3 others were just terrible:
iCall: covers 2mm of left and right side of screen
Eiger: Doesn't cover left and right side of the screen for about 2/3 mm. wtfff
JustInCase: covers 2mm of left and right side of screen
I'm sending all these crap products back ! These were priced from 10 to 17 euros EACH!
Only positive side from today is my dbrand skin it looks so fine that wood skin!
After many many tries with those overpriced TGSP I got a good hit with 2 cheap tgsp.
My personal favorite is the first one from aliexpress.
So smooth and bright and you almost forget you have a tgsp on it.
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/ZNP-...235.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.17e14c4dCKzfrt
Pros:
1. Thin (feels almost as thin as the factory pre installed one, perhaps because of the right size?)
2. Cheap
3. Covers more than only the screen (but not the entire front panel)
4. Case friendly (for those who use it with a case)
5. Quality feels like premium
Cons:
1. Long shipment
2. May experience white line problems ( I have just a small sign of white lines, but only noticable when you are looking closing for them)
Also a decent buy:
https://www.ebay.nl/itm/Huawei-Mate...var=651362647729&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
1. Covers whole screen (leaves nothing uncovered except for the camera area)
2. Cheap
3. Quality seems decent
Cons:
1. Uses tape (so there could be some dust sticking on the sides, haven't tried it on for long time because the one from aliexpress arrived 2 days later)
2. Long shipment
