I need a stock rom! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Yea... so I kinda lost my nandroid, and I need to return this phone due to the infamous USB charging/debug fail. I need some stock vanilla, could someone throw me a ROM?

I'll post this here as well, since it's relevant;
"If I learned one thing on XDA, it's this. Most people like to post in the wrong sections, because they know that they will get a faster answer and that more people will see it. They do it, despite the fact that they shouldn't. So, in theory, we should just ignore those that do it, because lets be honest...they know better and so should we. Now, I've also seen many members that know better, reply to these people and give them their answers, but they fail to see that, they are only feeding these people, to keep on doing it."

Flashable ODIN tar to Stock

I was curious if there was any plan on making a flashable tar for Odin to return the phone to stock just in case you are unable to get into recovery and are trying to recover from a softbrick. Also would probably be the easiest way to get the phone ready for any warranty issues! Thanks

I'm sure if y'all donate and help bubby323 get his phone he'll put up the tar file.
He already did almost everything else without a phone.
Here is his link.

No doubt. I'm very hesitant to begin rooting/roming this bad boy without a good stock rom to revert back to JIC.
That post was from October 25. Fyi. Not all of us can donate after spending 600+ on our own phones. Not being negative, just stating that this message can be read by other devs to get their attention. Why is everyone here focused on one dev when there are a handful now who are more than capable?

I agree. I was a little hesitant to door because coming from owning a vibrant, I was used to fixing issues easily with the odin stock firmware.

Yeah, that post is from October and he still don't have the phone even though he was the first one here and has done A LOT already without the phone in hand. If you don't know then don't chime in. You want something, well you gotta give something in return.
There were plenty of bounties going around for different devs and they got there's within a week even though they hadn't done anything yet for the phone.
I know there are a handful that are capable, but it's obvious they haven't done it yet, Have they?
FYI it was a suggestion for you to donate not a demand. You were asking to get a file and I pointed to the best way to get it.

It was just my opinion dude. I never asked for anything, just bumped the thread. it's unfortunate that he hasn't had enough bounty to get his phone while others did, but we still got a great ROM and kernel from them. They didn't run away with the money. I appreciate what bubby has done and have nothing against him. My statement about not being able to donate was just to share that I would if I could. I am aware I am not being forced. there are great devs here and wish they could all have devices to help us move forward. All we can do is wait, not rushing anything, but raising awareness for other interested devs that could help Bubby.

[Q] Flashed New Caulkins 2.0, and now phone won't boot

So, I flashed Caulks new EK02 Rom, and, when I went to restart, phone is stuck on boot screen; Wiped everything as normal before flashing, but stuck on the yellow triangle screen.
I tried all the normal stuff to get into recovery, but phone won't go past the initial boot screen.
I have a mac computer, and thats all there are in the house, so I can't use Odin..
Can someone help me get the phone back to a state where it starts up?
Thanks so much for your help!

First of all, this is the ONLY thread I made for this question; I made a post in the thread where the rom was located to make the dev aware of the issue
I'll be watching you closely, for when you have a serious issue and ask for help, to make sure you don't post it more than once..
And, BTW, I used Heimdall on my own, without your suggestion; I've been flashing phones for longer than you've probably been on this earth...

In my personal opinion, I hate this, I rather talk to all my flashers than have to go to another thread to talk to them. In my opinion, this is just what I believe. I was just making sure no devs get mad c: that's all.
Before you flash, make sure you download the rotation fix and have it ready to flash after the rom. Or just turn off auto rotation.

No, i believe it has to do with the script support needed to flash CM9, which often possesses a larger kernel than stock images.
Just wanted to say thanks to the guys who are working on this. Just got my GSII a few days ago and was dismayed to find there were no good touchwiz free options for me, and then just in time this cm9 port went up.
I can't use my camera for now, and I'm afraid to turn off my gps, but it's a small price to pay for you guys all putting so much work in to exactly the rom that I wanted. I'll be sticking with this rom and donating to keep development going. Thanks guys.

Someone posted a work-a-round in the Dev section of CM9 about this. Someone else confirmed it worked for them. They said when in non-touch CWR to unmount then remount the cache partition. Then flash the SuperWipe script, then flash the ROM. They created an issue for it here: http://code.google.com/p/hercskycm/issues/detail?id=20 I would head over to the DEV section and read what they posted about it before doing it though.
I think that's the route I'm going to take since I'm still a little unsure about using 'touch' just yet.

Which touch version are you using? I'm about ready to make the leap. I've just become so familiar with the standard recovery. I'm leaning towards the version you pay a couple bucks for through ROM Manager. Even though I've never used ROM Manager for anything. But I've heard it's okay to upgrade or flash your recovery through ROM Manager though?

DONT WANT A BRICK? Check here

As of right now, the roms for your S3 are not meant to be used on other S3 variants. Bricks might happens or a soft one might happen. Before flashing a Rom make sure you are in the right development section an you read the entire op, twice. Until other devs or experienced users find a way to make them cross compatible, please refrain from using other carriers S3 roms.

That's slick!:good:
hard brick - a pretty paperweight (tonight)
should have been more careful, soft bricked the phone, 2 times trying to change the dpi.
once trying to flash a rom - the rom flash, took it to QHSUSB_DLOAD mode, not impressed but i'll take this downtime as a time to relax.
Another way to avoid a brick; Don't use a mod, theme, tool or ROM until it's confirmed by multiple people in the community that it's working properly. Read the last 3-4 pages of a thread

I agree with you, I ended up with a soft brick stuck at the samsung glowing logo after trying to unroot because I got a crack the front plastic near the headphone jack. I managed to reset the flash counter and install the rom but odin failed at the end. Now I'm hesitant to flash another ROM. Anyone else here waiting for JellyBean Rom? Definitely take your time and always make sure your computer installs the drivers before doing anything! I got BB to exchange it for me since they couldn't get it to boot and the mystery crack wasn't my fault. I only had it for like 3 days IN A CASE TOO. Happy Flashing dudes.
I'm just glad i saw a forum for the gs3. I would've bricked my phone after i got it.
Another bricker my own fault went to unroot to take in for service and went and loaded a wrong .tar file of the stock system. Anyway...not looking for sympathy..just wanted to say thanks for the forum that gave me the tools to fix my mistake

How hard is it to create a sytem dump yourself? Sure, it's an inconvenience, but really, how hard is it? Flash your phone back to stock, take the OTA, and then use adb and create a tar of /system on the sdcard and you're done. If you really need it for something that bad, you can take an hour out of your day and get it yourself. I did back when the OTA first came out to the person with a test device.

Flash your phone back to stock, take the OTA, and then use adb and create a tar of /system on the sdcard and you're done. If you really need it for something that bad, you can take an hour out of your day and get it yourself. I did back when the OTA first came out to the person with a test device.

It's far better for one person to spend a couple minutes signing up for a better download site than dozens or hundreds of people spending that time signing-in to download. Aside from that, it's a good idea to limit the amount of information you send to Google since they already have so much. (There are at least a few ways this action can lead to divulging a large amount of information. To be dismissive of it is to either be ignorant of how sites can gather information or extremely trusting of Google.)

I'm on Toroplus and trying to port something, so your reply means nothing to me. The rest of the replies mean nothing, period, because it is the XDA policy. Don't like it? Don't post here.

Congrats, want a cookie? You have toroplus, so you're still going to need a toro tester to make sure stuff works if you're doing something for toro, so have your tester make the system dump for you. Don't like my response, then stick to your toroplus forum.

No, I'm porting something "from" Toro to Toroplus for myself. Don't like "my" responses? Don't care. I was just iterating XDA's policy, and mostly only because the site wouldn't let me even sign in to download.

I was checking to see if the stock MMS auto splits for Toro, and seeing if I could use it on Toroplus. Since I'm sticking with stock odexed, the system dump seemed like the place to start. Also since I can't find any info anywhere on how to manually edit for auto split, and no one on these forums seems to want to help me. Other than telling me to use some bells and whistles ROM, which is not what I want. Or to use some themed deodexed alternate MMS, which also isn't what I'm looking for.

Hey guys! I decided to go ahead and get the system dump from the official 4.1.1 update, because it seemed no one else was going to do it. So if anyone needs it, here you go!

XDA rules. You can't link to somewhere you have to sign up for. That said, I cannot sign in. I need to download this to test something.

And your point is. I was able to sign up and log in with my gnex no problem.
As far as giving away personal information. Setup a spam account on yahoo. Register with that email with the name xda troll or something.
How much more personal can it get when Google or anything that can access the GPS abilities of your phone can zero in on on your location and drop an egg on your head?
If your displeased or can't find what your looking for with a post then move on. Don't be such a troll. I bet if you asked nicely instead of being a policing ass-hat the guy would of probably extracted what you were interested in, packed and reuploaded what you needed to help you out.
Good luck with your project.

Your opinion of me doesn't matter, either. Rules are rules. Don't call me a troll just because I pointed that out. I haven't done anything wrong. Take your attitudes elsewhere.
