Official samsung book covers - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

Anyone know if they will be releasing this in black? Kinda confused as to why they would even release a blue one when the tablet comes in grey and white...
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium HD app

The one that is up for notify (at ABT) say it is Grey.

I would like to know when they are going to be released. I am holding out for one (and am refusing to buy the myriad of cheap Chinese cases that are popping up on Amazon).

I have a simple question. Samsung has been getting the Note 10.1 ready for market for at least 6 months now. How is it they don't have a SINGLE OFFICIAL ACCESSORY ready on launch date? Don't they want my money? Don't they want me using merchandise with their branding on it?
Inexplicable fail.

Samsung book cover cases may be made in China (more than likely Korea), but they are nether built, nor priced cheap. (LOL)

Same problem with the wireless charging kit for the SGS3. Available nowhere.

Would you rather have a hole in the front cover when it's closed? (I know I wouldn't)

The official book covers WILL NOT BE SOLD IN THE US. You'll have to order them through the web. This is confirmed through family members that work for Samsung in Korea

The problem with the official book covers is as follows:
OVERPRICED
NO CAMERA HOLE. IF YOU HAVE THE BOOKCOVER FOLDED OVER YOU CANT TAKE A PHOTO.
VERY LITTLE PROTECTION IF YOU DROP YOUR TABLET.
There are many other choices online that offer far better protection and don't have the same design flaws.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2

The only issue I have with their cases from your list below is that they are overpriced. The Camera hole is not a bother.
I personally like the slim design (and love the Tab 2 7.0 model) - I want a case that looks like an extension of the device, not some faked grained $1 (sold as $20) Chinese generic case such as the ones that are sold be Poetic, Moko, Caseen, Acase, etc. Many of those cover the bezel and that is my #1 pet peeve.
It is obvious that they buy from the same Chinese distributor and simply (in some instances) stamp their badge on the bottom right corner of the front cover. I refuse to buy any more of those. I did with the Transformer Prime that I had. Another thing that gets me about these cheap cases - and this was true with the Prime cases - they dump them out on Amazon, and do not even have information on the "manufacturer's" web site about the product.
Belkin makes better quality cases, but I surely am not willing to pay $39.99 or $59.99 (see Best Buy's website).
All of the above reasons are why I like the Samsung cases better.

Do a Google search and either come up at about a dozen U.S. resellers (including Best Buy) as pre-order or awaiting stock. The release date now is mid-September.

I have to agree with you. I don't like those designs that cover the bezel. Their ugly.
So for now, as I like something that is not too bulky either or something that covers the camera, I bought this ROCK case on eBay.

Accessories for Galaxy Note in the Philippines

Hello everyone!
Ebay and the local stores have hardly any accessory for the samsung galaxy note. Even if there are stores that do deal in accessories for this device, I have not heard about them.
I thought this would be a perfect platform to discuss about accessories for the note and help map the stores for people who don't have much idea (like me).
Inviting ideas and opinions, please.

As for me, I have:
- a decent P250 screen protector (not bad for the price) | Glossy | Finger print magnet | they did not have the matte one
- sad and boring looking jelly-case (does the job though). | P250 as well | Some reviewer was taking about some Samsung original (flip top) covers, but it was hardly any info as I could not find where he got it from.
Tomorrow I will check out the zagg invisible shield store at SM Megamall (I guess there is one). And will hit back to the topic with the pricing and quality.

Accesories for Note
I bought a decent screen protector in Greenhills for Php150. First I look around, there were many of them selling the same screen protector but the cheapest I could find of the same brand was Php150. Sorry I forgot the name. Matte and gloss available. Just look and ask around in Theater Mall GH, not in ViraMall GH as it is more expensive there.
Also I was able to find a realook screen protector matte or gloss (take your pick) also somewhere in Theater Mall GH, it comes with 2 screen protector, cleaning cloth, alcohol something (I guess for cleaning) and its around Php600-800. Looks legit. She even gave me a calling card of the GM of the company of realook here in Phil. She tried to sell me only one piece of the shield that is already open for Php600. Good thing I read at the back of the package that it comes with 2 pcs of shields. I got it down as low as 500 and she still agreed to sell it to me. I didn't bite.
She said it will be available soon so I will be back there next time. I think the one she tried to sell me was only a sample.
For casing in GH, just jellys. Try looking in the internet, there are already a lot of cases available and with high quality. They ship in the Philippines. I am just not sure about the feel that is why I am still waiting for legit cases to be available here so I can try it out first before buying.
For the flip cover, if you buy directly from Samsung or from any legit stores, the cover comes with it. At the back of the package, it writes 'Not for sale.'
the note and the accessories for it should've arrived on the same date. its really hard to protect a big phone/tablet from scratches and all.
waiting for otterbox to arrive, its taking too long
I have seen otterbox for iphone, it looks good. I will wait and see if it becomes available here in Phil for the note. I hope it arrives soon. I have been using the free flip cover, its good but it offers no protection for the sides.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Had gone to megamall today... saw the flip cover from samsung at wellcom (guess that's the name of the store). But it was free with a purchase of a new note (P34990). They were not selling it separately though, which was sad.
The samsung mobile store was crowded as hell. Wanted to check out a store unit of the note and compare it to mine (for the screen issues), but I could not (other people checking the unit). Not a single sales person paid attention to what I needed (a flip cover). Was disappointed, but that's howsamsung operates around the world, I guess.
Zagg Invisible shield was also there. The sales people over there were too busy to notice my presence (though I am 6ft tall). Did not get to know if they had something for the note. But I did look at the price (if available). P1000 for the back part. P800 for the screen. And P1500 for the whole unit. Is kinda expensive, but hey, protection comes at a premium.

Yes! There was a store in the Technohub! Any news on the Flip Covers for the device? Any one selling it in loose?
I passed by Zagg in Megamall last Friday with my Galaxy Note. The lady said she didn't have any shields yet for the note... so, i opted for a screen protector which cost me 200 pesos (at BSA International) and a stupid looking blue jelly case.
In ebay, there are some really nice leather cases... especially those that are made in Korea. A bit pricey though... ranging from $35 to $75... shipping not included.

ebay casing nad screen protectors
Hey guys!
I have been checking in ebay philippines with Location filtered to Worldwide.
There are a lot of sellers selling decent casing for galaxy note. There is the Black S line Silicone TPU Skin Case Cover for less than PhP200, also there is the aluminum cover that looks sleek selling for PhP1,500. For screen protectors, I haven't gone back to GH to check on the realook screen protectors but I'm sure by next year they already have that. I was there late November and they already have it opened that's why I didn't buy it.
Also, ebay (filtered worldwide) is selling flip covers but it is really expensive with price at least PhP2,000.
Thanks!
I have only seen matte screen protectors around. They make the white of the screen look sparkly and as such would like a clear protector instead.
To those guys who bought the clear/glossy screen protectors, what store/mall did you buy them from and how much did you guys pay for them?
How is the quality as well? Does it affect the screen that much?
And to those who have bought matte screen protectors, have you had any matte screen protector that did not affect the whiteness of the screen (did not make is sparkly)?
Thanks.

Btw, for others asking about the case with NOT FOR SALE tag. I was able to buy one for P800 at Cyberzone SM Cubao. (Yes, I'm that silly. Lol!) Forgot the name of the shop but its just near the escalator, beside Tylex.
Got an original samsung flip case for the note at GH for 800php. This however still leaves the sides unprotected so I had to use a jelly case, only I cut the sides to accommodate the flip part. It doesn't look ugly as it sounds, and does the job until we get invisishield for the Note.

Some questions about the official book cover case.

So I recently bought the official book cover case from Amazon (it was listed as new). I feel a little underwhelmed by the case after getting it in the mail. Its a nice looking case but the build quality doesn't seem up to par. I'm afraid I might have been sold a counterfeit. The front piece is a soft rubber/plastic cover with the magnetic flap and seems to be easily scratched as it already has some scuffs on it straight out of the box. The corner parts on the front cover are slightly deformed. The front and back pieces seem to be sloppily glued together. I think mine is also missing the rubber feet behind the magnetic flap because it has a hard time standing up as an easel. I was wondering if anyone else that has this case could tell me how your case is. Mine did come in the official Samsung packaging but I'm not sure if it's 100% legit. The model number on the box shows EF-C980NBECSTD.
Sort of looks fake to me. My book cover doesn't have any of the flaws your pictures seem to highlight. Especially the crooked Samsung logo on the flap. Samsungs build quality could've gone down I suppose, tho it does look odd.

where is the hole for the powerbutton? Also the spot where theheadphones plug in is different from mine. Just checked my model number and it is EFC-1B1NBECCAN. Also my packaging has a holographic sticker that says samsung original. Then again this could be because its sold in canada.

Also looks fake to me. Mine is of much higher quality than that one appears to be. The cut is also slightly different. If you paid significantly less than $50, I guarantee it's a fake.
My package also had a Samsung hologram sticker.
I have a general recommendation for buying from Amazon, especially with electronics and accssories, which is to buy from Amazon (or fulfilled by Amazon) only. You are unlikely to get counterfeit product that way and also have a much easier time sending it back if you do.

I have a 8.9 Tab, but the box for my book case also had a Samsung hologram sticker.
Yeah Bro that's a counterfit galaxy tab case.
The cut out where the headphone port is, has this inch long to two inches long slit. That has to pieces of rubber touching each other to act as a little headphone cord holder mechanism. Also the Galaxy tab branding on the bottom corner doesn't look like it's the same font size or font as mine. That sucks bro I'd report the person or company you got it from, if you were to look at a real case side by side with yours you can see the difference.
I compared your photos with my case... Certainly this is a fake. I'm sorry.

I just bought one of these for $42 from an amazon vendor and it was "fulfilled by amazon". Not only was mine a fake, but I also got one that someone else had returned. The package was all scuffed up and the cellophane wrapping was half ripped off. The camera cut out was not properly aligned (there was plastic covering part of the hole) and the rubber feet were falling off.
I did not know about these phoney rip-off cases before I read this thread. But I called amazon and complained, and to their credit they refunded my money. So since it was essentially free, I got out my Drumel and fixed the camera opening, re-glued the feet, cleaned it up a bit, and made it usable. At least it does seem to fit okay, and while it's not as great as having the "real thing", now that I've doctored it, it'll do.
Be careful when buying from unknown venders, even when the order is fulfilled by amazon. This vender was "Go Shuki" of "Shuki International". Surprisingly, they have a 4.4 star rating out of 5, but they only have 283 total ratings. Still, no way to tell they were going to try to rip me off. (Well, maybe if I had looked at their store front, I might have noticed that what this company specializes in is selling fake perfume. That may have been a tip-off. ) I wonder how many others who trust Amazon.com have been victomized by these shady venders.
But Amazon treated me right, so I'm still a fan of theirs.

That's a shame, but it does look fake. I bought mine believe it or not at a local Toys 'R' Us today. I must admit the quality is amazing and I'm loving it. I bought it on sale for $49.99. I was going to buy one online but I'm glad I waited and didn't have to wait on shipping.

Btw this is the one i order doesnt look fake right but the one i got is the exact same one as the op got.

Official Bumper

So what do you guys think? Has anyone seen one yet? I know its a bit pricey, but i really liked the bumper on the N4 and think google/lg nailed it. Shows £24.99 and "coming soon" in the UK. FFS Google why can't you get the accessories to us in good time. The UK didn't even get the wireless charge dock in the end.
Can someone confirm this is actually available to buy in the US?
I wasnt a huge fan of the oem bumper for the n4, only due to the fact that it left part of the metal ring visible on the top and bottom of the front of the phone. It didn't quite look like it fit correctly.
I did however love the poetic bumper, it fit perfectly, it was a bit thinner, and matched the phone almost as if there was no case at all.
Amazon already has the poetic up for pre order and shipping date of November 19 I believe. I've got one on order, and will post pictures when it arrives.

I really like the look of the official cases especially with the nexus logo intact. I'm part of the minority and like the thinnest case possible like the rearth slim or spigen ultra fit. This official case looks like a nice compromise between the "super thin barely any protection" cases and the thicker "add too much bulk more protective" cases. Definitely pricey though.
I've had the spigen neo and was very disappointed. El cheapo imo. Rearth Ringke has been my favorite cases so far

No way I would buy that.
The image for the black bumper uses a GNex and does not really show anything about the bumper.
The image for the white bumper uses a Nexus 5 render without the bumper on it.
The description says it is for all carriers, including Verizon, on which the N5 does not work.
It would have been great to get an actual bumper case like the Nexus 4 had but I think I'll still get the official "bumper" for the Nexus 5. I'm a sucker for OEM fit and finish as well as I like how it still displays the NEXUS logo on the back.
The price is ridiculous though. I hope the carriers offer it in store when they launch the phone so I don't have to get ripped off with shipping as well.

I think it's difficult to make a true bumper for the Nexus 5 because the back is curved. Nexus 4, iPhone... Those are phones with flat backs. Regardless, I think the case looks nice, but is a bit pricy.

the official "bumper" case is expensive. but i'm guessing the "nexus" branding is what makes it worth it to a lot of people.
if you cover up your phone with any other case it just looks like any other phone and not like a beastly nexus. but now your vanity can be satisfied with a case that clearly states for all to see... NEXUS.

wished google made official one like that but in RED!
The official bumper looks quite appealing, and it looks like it extends past the camera. My only concern is the buttons. In-house cases that the phone company comes out with are notorious for having hard button covers. Guess we'll just wait for video reviews on that.

Moto G Official Flip Shell review

http://www.androidbugle.com/2013/11/motorola-moto-g-official-flip-shell.html
Any idea what the pricing will be in the US/Canada? UK usually pays a premium.
Can anyone who has this let us know how far back it hinges, does it only open like a book or can you fold it back under the phone.

Look at picture 10 in the review link above, it does seem like you can fold it all the way back and hold it that way.

One of the features is "360 degree rotation".
Thanks guys
I really like the back texture of the flip case. Wish they had regular back cases without the cover.
From the article:
[UPDATE:]We've gotten official word that there will only be three colours available in Canada (Black, White and Royal Blue) and that they will be available from TELUS for $34.99.
The Official Flip Shell is now available from Amazon UK. £18.

Price gouging or wat?
Yeah, that price is almost 1/4 of what I paid for the phone. Hopefully an unofficial Flip Cover with working magnet unlock mechanism will appear as an alternative.
Only in white though, still waiting for a black one.

This motorola flip cover looks good. Too bad it's hard to find one in Europe. Is there similar product on the market? Maybe something cheaper aka china made.

Hope so as nearly 20 quid too dear I think.
In the meantime I'm just using a 2 quid flip case from ebay and installed an app to make the phone unlock automatically when I open the case as I hate having to press the power button all the time :good:
There is a nice case on ebay for £5 although it's in China. I'm not allowed to post a link as I'm new here but if you search for this 'Nillkin Fresh PU Leather Skin Cover Hard Back Case for Motorola MOTO G XT1032' you will find it.
It also lock/unlocks the screen which is what I'm looking for.
The royal blue flip shell is now available on Amazon uk

I'm pretty sure that's meant to attract the magnet on the cover to keep the flip case closed.

Cleaning
I've got the yellow/green one and love the way it looks, save for one thing: the felt on the inside of the cover is hard to clean. How do you guys get dirt off of it?
does anyone know about international shipping for original shells? Thanks

[EBAY] Found very cheap Neo-Hybrid case with few wierd things, not sure if it is real

Hello, so i found this on ebay ,removed link,
Supposebly it is the neo hybrid but very cheap one, nearly 3x times cheaper than it is on their official site. So i was thinking of buying it but then i saw i can choose colors like orange green etc. But neo hybrid in official site doesnt have these colors. So what can i make of that? The discription and everything shows it is legit, no mention whatsoever about it beeing fake. I brought Slim Armor in ebay aswell 3x cheaper than original cost also from spain and it came in perect condition, with everything how it was supposed to be. The spigen logo, paper code thing etc. But this one looks non-legit because i can choose those colors. What do you think?
what did you search to find it?

There's a TON of replicas of popular cases on ebay. Often, they do offer different colors from the original one. There are people on here who have bought them with no problems. I think it's wrong for the ebay sellers to claim their case is original when in fact it isn't. From a moral standpoint I wouldn't buy it from a seller who claims their fake ones are legit. But, if a store does admit they're replicas I don't really see a huge issue. I don't think there's an enormous difference in quality. Just know that they aren't the original.

+1 to this. I've tried a few different models for a few phones. Some are surprisingly good...some, not so good. If you want the quality of the original then I'd go with the original ones from their website (comes with a serial/certificate). The replica's generally don't (and won't come in the Spigen packaging).
This one I got from aliexpress was a bit flimsy around the 3.5 jack ... And did you notice the white plastic keys instead of the real thing metalized keys!
But major issue was heat dissipation is nil (different materials?) so I stopped using it. Paid 10$ with shipping when I got it I would have said it's a deal compared to the 50$ real thing but overheating got me cold!

yup, ordered the same from aliexpress for $3, using it from two months now, flimsy on the 3.5mm jack, but didn't find any difference b/w temperatures while on idle or with cover, though it takes some time to cool down..
I would recommend it though... :good:
Now it's a deal I wish I paid only 3 bucks for this, back in December it was 9.99$ wich is 6.66 to expensive...
(Batt temp got over 38° I figured it was too much ?!)

yeah, it's still on aliexpress ranging from $3-$5 through various sellers.
For me, while charging, battery temps range from 38-40c with or without case, though it takes more time to cool down with the case with room temps 32c..

So I have been reading your replies here about fakes and replicas and I started to think that the slim armor I brought for 3x lower price than original must be a replica and fake too. So I went ahed and googled 30mp images with huge resolution of legit slim armor case to compare every milimeter with my cheap slim armor case. So I did for quite some time and at the end I didn't find anything that differs from the real case. Absolutely nothing at all. Is it possible for fakes or replicas to be so good that they represent quality of the real thing?

slim armor? you can just do one test, see if your slim armor came with any authentication certificate, original spigen cases comes with one, which has some authentication number that could be verified from spigen's website.

Yes slim armor and it didn't came with the certificate. That is why I thought I might have a fake or replica. But I can't find any kind of proof for it. The case looks 100% legit.

That is what a replica would strive for isn't it? People have mentioned the engraved lettering is different.
I think people are over thinking this a bit. It all comes down to the standard "you get what you pay for"...in other words, if you find a case that is 3 or 4 times LESS expensive than the standard price it's going to be fake. You don't get amazing deals just because and no company will sell for a loss.
I'll throw this out there, one thing you do get for paying full price for a real, actual legit case is support. I bought my SlimArmor from amazon back in may and just this week sent Spigen an email asking them if there was something wrong with my power button. After a couple of exchanges and a few pictures they are sending me a replacement TPU section, and I don't even have to send them back my original. That's some good customer service!

It would depend on the price you want to sell it. I would buy if you sell it for less than 6€ xD. I already purchased neo hibrid for 10€ this week on eBay. As soon as it ships I will notify you guys here and most likely will post pics too. It should take some 2-3 weeks to ship on my location. If anyone is interested in the exact thing I bought I can post link if you want.
