Where exactly do you want to mount it? Arkon has a bunch of mounts for front seat, windshield, headrest, etc. They'll even work with cases.

i drive a scion xd. the center console dash extrudes a bit and i hang the hanger around it. the top of the hanger goes right above the air vents and the tablet sits in front of the radio. i can adjust the volume on the steering wheeel.

Somewhere in the dash area. I have air vent mount for my Note 5.3. That's ideal for me because I can look at it without taking my eyes of the road. I hate windshield mounts because they just seem to get in the way of my field of view and it drives me nuts. That sticky mount in that link looks like it could work, but the dash in my car isn't smooth, it's kind of textured, so I'm not sure how well something like that would work.

My girlfriend has a 2012 Scion tc, the dash is super textured. I'll see if the sticky mount works on hers.
To clarify, is your dash the plastic textured stuff or the faux leather textured stuff?

Otterbox Commuter + garmin mount = perfect

I just wanted to pass along my latest revelation. the evo otterbox fits in a garmin widow mount. You place it in just like you would the gps. Its not a perfect fit, but will hold just fine. I have been on two offroad trips with my jeep and it has not fallen out once.
EDITED FOR PICS
these are the best pics I could get. Its too dark to get a decent pic outside. It slides left to right with minimal effort, when I first tried it I didnt think it would work out well, but it has not slid on its own in several trips and about 15 miles of dirt road.
it also works well for video when you slide it all the way to the left.

as you can see, the clips just barely go around the chine of the case (the little lip where it goes from the side to the back of the case)
It gives it enough support to hold, one could add some type of nonskid padding to the bracket to prevent any movement. It shakes less than my mirrors do while driving down the road.
If it works on my rig, it should work on yours. Im willing to bet my ride shakes and wobbles more than the average car.
post a pic please

I been thinking of purchasing a vent mount. I have a c class mercedes. It's pretty small so the vents are close to me. I wouldnt want anything on my windows, but please do post some pictures I would like to see you that looks.
edit added to first post
What model of Garmin is the mount from? Or, are they all the same?
The otterbox commuter is CRAP. I've gone through 2 of them and gave up. The rubber along the bottom front of the phone is flimsy and stretches out VERY easily. Friction from taking out of my front pocket was enough to permanently deform it.

I got a universal vent/window mount from RadioShack and it works great... I use the vent mount in my wife's car and the window one in my truck..
The vent mount is a little bit of a pain to get on there and take off but it's pretty sturdy once it's locked in there... and it was only like $15-$20; it has some firm foam on both sides of the "grabbers" so that it holds really tight
Oh yeah, I have the OtterBox commuter on the phone too

I have checked, my garmin mount is WAY to big to fit my EVO.
I have to question that creature in the bottom of the photograph!

2. is it real?
3. what is wrong with the hair on it's face?
4. what happened to it's tail?

Xoom vehicle holder now available - ProclipUSA

Xoom holder now available from Proclip USA. If you are not familiar with Proclip, you get a mount that is made for your vehicle, then a holder which attaches to the mount for your device. This is a very clean and easy to install solution, although a little pricey:

So is the Ram mount. I would personally go with Ram as they make quality & tough products for a decent price. My ram mount should be here on the 7th I will post some pics installed in my element when its done.

This is my mount I just put into my auto. I didnt like the floor mount one.
I actually used an iPad version but the height of the holder is adjustable. Mine has a tendency to lean to the right if I make a left turn. The mount to the floor\seat is rock solid but the arm itself can twist pretty easily. I have to nudge it between the carseat and the console itself. It does the job though. Replacing my outdated GPS with Google maps is pretty awesome. Plus Google search actually works.
ram mount looks ok, i would like to see how much it bounces though.

I just got mine today and my answer: quite a bit. However, I have 2 cars and the one I tested it in today is a lowered mustang with stiff after market motor mounts and a VERY stiff reinforced frame, so in another car it might not be quite as bad. It does wobble some just from tapping it with my finger while the car isn't running, but its not awful. All that having been said, the car this is going to primarily be used in has a center console that is placed such that I should be able to secure the pole to it using Velcro or something and based on my testing today holding the pole about where I intend to secure it to the center console, it should make the vibration negligible. I will report back once I get it installed tomorrow and let you know how it performs.
If you guys are interested I'll post a picture of it in the car. Since it was temporary I didn't do much bending with the pole and its basically straight which is probably not helping with the vibration (being an 18" long moment arm, versus shorter if it had some bends in it, or possibly sawed off to be shorter)

Unfortunately no one made a mount like that with a base that I liked how it attached to the console in my car which is why I went with the floor mount. I get my DD back from the shop today so we'll see how it works out.

A RAM medium aqua box holds it very snugly and could be secured via a RAM steering stem mount.
I've got it for my Daytona 675 and it works great. I do, however, need to modify the aqua box a bit to make room for a charging cable's end to plug into my Powerlet socket.

I will be using it for navigational purposes. Google Navigation has been a very nice app for my Samsung Galaxy S II, and I hope that trends follows on to the Galaxy Nexus.

Sadly though I can't use a steering stem mount. The hole is only 0.25 and it needs to be atleast 0.50.
That medium aqua box, is it bulky?
Ah, that's too bad, I'm sure you can find somewhere to mount another RAM ball though!
The aqua box is definitely bulkier than a non-waterproof case, but it's not so bulky that it gets in the way while riding even when I tuck behind my windscreen. I'll try to snap a few pictures for you in the next day or two, not positive when I'll have a chance since my bike is in storage at the moment though.

There's a clutch-reservoir attachment that will fit with my Suzuki SV650S, atleast according to their website. So I might go with that solution.
And I would very much appreciate some pictures of your waterproof case. Can you do some photo's where the bike is in full view aswell? Just for the overall comparison between case size and bike size

When I bought my Droid 2 years ago, I just dropped it in this universal spring loaded mount I was using for my PDA and it worked great.
I am going to order another to have in my car so I won't have to keep moving it back and forth from my bike. I expect to be able to use these mounts for any phone I buy in the foreseeable future (I am waiting on my GN to arrive in the mail right now). You can put whatever type mount you want with it to attach it to the bike or car.
I ride a Honda VFR 750 and do alot of long rides with it.
This will not offer protection from rain, but if it is very light rain, I usually just keep one of those stretchy type plastic kitchen bowl covers that have the elastic cord around the outside. They are made out of the same stuff ziplock bags are made of. The right size will stretch over the entire mount and keep it dry as long as you are not riding in a downpour.
Kind of stinks that none of these mounts (the Verizon one especially) don't have inputs for any of the cables. So you basically have to rip the case off, dock it, then connect everything every time. Make me sad they cant do what Motorola does and build em to work with all of that =(
This might help you sir, try Googling RAM Motorcycle Mount. Still can't post external links.
Got givi case and it works fine fir me

Samsung Vehicle Mount review

This official Samsung car mount works on multiple phones, not just the S3 unlike the S2 car mount I had which only worked on the S2 and only when not using a case which was a double whammy of a negative for that mount.
Have Samsung learnt the error of their ways and improved this new mount? Let's find out...
This kit comes in 3 parts, the S2 mount comes in 2:
{

}
The ball joint clips into this socket while the screw tightens the fit:
Unfortunately Samsung didn't leave room for arm adjustment so the number of ways to point the mount is very limited again, just like the S2 mount, you need to have it quite high up on the windscreen to get decent movement of the head:
Ultimately it still suffers one of the main flaws I found on the S2 dock, lack of adjustment and being aimed at windscreen mounting only as opposed to dashboard discs (see pic below). It's less advanced than the S2 mount because it doesn't have a socket the phone sits into to activate car mode, but if it did it wouldn't work on other phones whereas this one will work on almost any phone that's of compatible width as both side arms retract in and out.
So it's just a car mount that's tough and sturdy in motion, it doesn't vibrate and the suction is very strong but for what it costs I'd much rather recommend the Nokia CR-115 with a bit of DIY to the stock arm padding (remove them and replace with thinner pads) to work on phones as wide as an S3 because you get better movement and a slimmer profile for easier storage. It also costs less than £10 depending on where you shop. I also think it's by far the nicest looking mounts out there and because it's a genuine brand made one, it's good quality too.
Nokia CR-115:
Update:
The modding has started early I was looking at the ball joint and then at the ball joint on the Exomount car holder and realised they looked the same size....
So yeah, now I have a car mount that is sturdy and of excellent build and sticks to almost anything
This was pretty awesome, thanks a lot.

[Q] Sticky car dock mounting pads for dashboard - fail waiting to happen?

I have the Infuse and iBolt car docks. Just got the iBolt yesterday and am thinking about giving the dash mount option a try instead of using the windshield like I usually do.
These disks that have the sticky bottom part which you attach to your dash - does it ruin the dash when you go to remove this disc in a year or two? I'm sure fading could be an issue. But also wondering if it's ever corroded anyone's dashboard?
You shouldn't have a problem with the 3M adhesive, if that's the kind they use on the iBolt disk. Usually it'll just peel right off. The only thing that may happen is fading, but that would take a looooong time.
If you're worried about it you could try a removable dash pad like these: http://www.arkon.com/sticky-dash-mount-pad.html

I've used the round one when with the arkon flex neck mount when I had a car (I ride a motorcycle now) and it worked great. Here's a clip:
Another thing you can try is an arkon mount base with the iBolt dock attached. They use the same sized garmin ball.

I used to have those sticky mount pad and I was using it during very hot summer. Due to the heat edges were lifting up and when I took it off all the adhesive got really nasty, leaving nice big square mark on my dashboard. I personally didn't like it, maybe it's okay if you live in an area where not so much sunlight beaming down.

Did you use anything to remove the sticky leftover goo? Or was it a permanent defacing of the dash?

Just used wet towel, it removed all the adhesive but I could still see the mark from the angle. Eventually it disappeared but I would never do that again just in case if it becomes permanent.
