how fast are your 3G speeds? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey so I have a question for you guys. How fast are your 3G speeds? I'm asking because my gs3 won't go over 600 kb even at my best service. And my wifi is also extreamly slow. The wifi doesn't make sence to me Cuz my Droid x2 uses the same wifi and it gets triple the speed that my gs3 gets. Any one have the same problem or have a solution for this?

My WiFi is fine. 3g sucks.

Damn. Not even 56k.

I almost fell over when I ran this at my work...on one bar lol. Running totally unrooted stock LG8.

Just ran the wifi one and earlier this morning did the speed test down the road from my house.
Edit: However... look at some of the other tests down below...signal blows up around here, although I keep getting told just wait for LTE... I'm waiting...

LOL, that's about what I get when I'm roaming on your network(I'm with US Cellular). I thought it was just cause I was roaming.

I can't say the words "Sprint", "3G" and "Fast" in the same sentence without laughing (or crying)
This is in the Denver area:
Ping: 366 ms
Down: 23 kbps
Up: 326 kbps

Nope.. its because the network here absolutely sucks. Ive done battle with Sprint for over a year about the crappy signal here and gotten nowhere.

Here are mine. Funny thing is I live in a very small town in Western New York and we got 2 Network Vision towers put up recently with 4 more on the way lol. But hey I'm not complaining

I get about 600 here in phoenix. No 4g here

I've seen MAX almost 2 Mbps. Average speed is about 1. Pittsburgh area.

I just got 446 kbps this morning but 9507 kbps tonight. No 4g and 905 nightly cm10. It seems things run better a day or two after flashing. Could be my imagination.
OK forget it, I had the wifi turned on ... "if it's too good to be true..."

I puked some coffee when I got this today. Proof that the Vision tower upgrades are a funky reality at the moment.

I was in NYC, and got 1.9 mbs down in Queens, and the Bronx, as well as in DC last week.

Stronger signal and higher speeds...?

Since I got to work this morning me and all of my Sprint subscribing coworkers are experiencing better signal strength and higher speeds than usual and is especially noticeable in places notorious for crappy signal... The same at my apartment.
Either a new tower went up.. Which is doubtful... Or is this part of the rollout of the system upgrades?

My 4g is flying. Usually I only get about 6mbps and right now I just hit 14, with 1 bar. 3g is more or less the same

Maybe everyone should post where they are located also?
I'm only talking 3G.... And we have horribly overcast skys and rain which usually murders signals... I've got a good feeling about this... I'm afraid to update my PRL lol

Mine aren't better, but something is going on. Signal has been very erratic on both my GSII and my 3D. In the process of working on towers?
I'm lucky if I get 2 mb on 4g in St. louis.

3G speeds still, but, respectable. I ordinarily pull 200kbps to 400kbps with 0 to 1 bar at my desk. I'm getting 600 to 1300kbps with 1 to 3 bars.... Buried deep in a steel building. Outside I'm seeing full bars and hover around 2mbps where I usually get 600kbps ish with 2 or 3 bars. Heavy overcast with moderate rain.

I'd be interested to see how the speeds hold up later on in the day. Mine are always respectable in the morning and then go to sh*t in the afternoon hours.
Well, how are they holding up?

btw, my 3g on speedtest typically registers like 50kbps, but in actuality, I do way better on app dls and webpages. I do trust the 4g readouts, though, which tend to be around 4-5 mbps.

geez I'd kill for those speeds. In Denver, I hover around 200Kb/s down and 100Kb/s up. And usually 200-350ms latency.
My Evo OG takes about 1.3-1.6 DL and .93 UL on the reg at work all day. I will hopefully have this phone sometime this week when they start to ship and I'll let you know my variance, if any.

Austin, Tx
(admittedly I get terrible reception in the house)
Yeah well if you run speed tests in the late night/early morning hours, of course you're going to get good numbers. The network isnt as congested as the daytime and normal evening hours when people are awake.
Suburbs of San Antonio, Tx...normally weak 3G
(Using Sprint EVO 4G LTE)
On a good day 3G:
.90 Mbps down and .60 Mbps up with 290 ms ping
Rarely got 4g wimax to connect on my Og EVO in the burbs.
FWIW...Lte is lighting up off and on...assume testing as we are one of first cities to get Lte. Speedtest all over the place:
Best 8.65 Mbps down and 8.98 Mbps up and 113 ms ping
Lowest 5.22 Mbps down and 5.27 Mbps up and 110 ms ping
Also notice stronger 3G signal but not really faster speeds while they are testing. Would be thrilled if I could get consistent lte anywhere near early test speeds...especially after people start using it.
Oh yeah, Sprint is flying in northern California. :crying:

My 4G speeds has decreased greatly here in Delaware, I used to be able to get speeds as high as in my sig (10-12mb down on my OG Evo), but since I had my 3D & now this phone its much lower, but right now I'm getting better speeds at home where I used to get horrible speeds as posted in this pic. One more thing, get the GS3 cuz Bmore will have LTE hopefully within the month or sooner.

My life for Aiur
No 4G service here in the USVI. Service has also been horrible lately. About 8-20Kbs during peak hours and 50-90Kbs during off peak hours. It unbearable and makes the smartphone experience suck compared to the continental US. The voice service also sounds like I am under water on over 50% of St. Croix.

I work inside of a big steel building where sprint is basically the only carrier that gets perfect service inside my building. They've been upgrading the tower near my work a lot too. Last year I wasn't even getting half my current speed

That is pretty impressive. where are you located?
I don't know why, but with my S4 and Note 3 HSPA (4G) I get 27 down and 9 up on average, but on LTE I only get 13 down and 12 up. HSPA seems to be a little faster here in Tampa, Florida than LTE. T-Mobile's HSPA is capable of 42 MBPS and so are the phones. So i keep my phone set at hspa instead of LTE. I also get 4 to 5 bars of signal on 4G and only 1 or 2 on LTE which might explain the speed difference
Just did a test outside near a tower. I got 22 down and 11 up. Pretty decent.
