How to let my wildfire s S-OFF?

I want to know how to let my wildfire s S-OFF,don't use xtc clip,I want to have eng S-OFF,how to do? thanks!
No other way. You need to use the xtc clip.
When can I have the software to unlock it,become to ENG S-OFF?
I am waiting!
Nobody knows when and if software will be available. Unless you want to wait to see if HTC are unlocking the bootloader on the Wildfire S.

Prolly never...only way for now remains the XTC Clip
Yup. Same as above. alpharev team gave up and doesn't look like HTC are going to release an unlock.
Instead of buying an XTC clip for ~$100, why not just search around for a phone repair shop in your area, most have unlocking services too.
I got mine done yesterday for $25 and it only took a couple minutes. Finally I'm S-OFF'd and rooted.
Thanks =)
thx guys , its a gr8 piece of device , but getting S-off is the only problem now , even rooting is possible (with S-off)
Don't see why ppl don't want to get S-off with the xtc clip since you can get it cheap with one credit on for one phone. I did it for the first time on this device. It's kinda straight forward, and there shall a lot til before you brick you phone.
Can't see a safer way. You use a battery on the clip.when you are getting S-off on the phone

Does the Sim-Free version of this phone (not locked to a carrier) come with S-Off, or did I imagine reading it?

I don't think so, HTC didn't seem to be locking their bootloaders according to carrier demands. You can probably get a sim-free one and have it unlocked by a repair-shop, friend with a xtc-clip, etc etc ...

Hi, im here on behalf of my friend who recently owned a Wildfire S. (And running out of internal memory)
I had been reading most of the threads in this forum and got some idea but still clueless on some facts which i thought you could help me.
Well, without much more spaming, i understand we need a xtc clip to root the device and nothing else at the moment. My question is, can we flash any custom roms (if available)?
If so what would be the risk? (i mean flashing a custom rom without rooting might brick the phone)
A simple Yes / No should suffice as i can take from there by digging further on this forum
Thanks for your time

And you can't "flash" anything with a s-on locked bootloader/recovery.
All those questions are already answered by "digging" the forum.

[Q] I Need Urgent Help (HTC Wildfire S)

I’m having trouble rooting the HTC Wildfire S it is a marvelc cdma phone from Metro PCS (USA service). I first used a method from YouTube, the video is called called HTC Wildfire S - Unlocking Boot loader and I did this like the 2nd day I had my Wildfire S and the first time I had an HTC so I had no idea about HTC DEV at the time, but anyway I did this method and I followed all the steps until the end when the program tells you to press any button to reboot, what I did was unplugged the phone, but I noticed I was not rooted, so I went to the boot loader and noticed it says *** LOCKED (OOW) *** at the top and it also says S-OFF ,so I tried almost all the root methods, and tried to use HTC DEV, and HTC DEV just tells me that it’s the wrong RUU program so I don’t know guys please help me. All I want to do is temp root, to remove bloatware, please help me. Thanks!

You don't need an ruu anymore. Just go through the unlocking process. Or go here for a noob friendly version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432199 and remember to thank theq86 for the nice tutorial.
To root after unlocking, just flash this zip at http://fs05n5.sendspace.com/dl/744efe1caa39712991ebfcb9bca78aa9/4f52b43f7cad3402/2l50jw/root.zip and u will be rooted

Hi,
There are both (-) and (+) when root your device. Go thru this thread and decide yourself.

simply you may lose warranty & updates but can explore the device & can control your device....

You probably wouldn't need to use an RUU..... Check the bootloader just to be sure, if it says *LOCKED* on the top then you don't require using an Ruu
Can i use UnlockRoot?
first of all i want to thanks to csoulr666
I still have another question, can i root my phone with the UnlockRoot?
If someone already tried please leave a reply.
Or if there is a safer method for my phone.
Thanks

[Q] Unbranding

Hi All
My name is Phil and I'm new to HTC phones so I apologise in advance.
I wonder if anyone out there can help me, I'm trying to just unbrand my unlocked Vodafone UK HTC One M8 which is currently on KK 4.4.4. What I would like to achieve is an unbranded phone as if I had purchased it unlocked from HTC with the warranty in tact that will accept OTA's so I'll get lollipop.
I understand I will most probably have to unlock the bootloader, root, S-off etc but what I'm a little unsure about is, can I get an official stock rom complete with sense 6 installed on the phone and then lock it all back up for warranty (ie in fastboot it states locked, original software, s-on etc etc)
I have read many threads and watched youtube videos that seem to show that it can be done but I would like to check with you guys before I start.
If this is possible, which method would you recommend as there seems to a few different methods.
Also is Sunshine the only s-off method now?
Again I'm sorry but I've come from a Sony xperia phone which unbranding was really easy to achieve without rooting
Thank you in advance
Phil
I take it you took advantage of the recent deal too. Anyone would be crazy not too at that price.
At the moment it seems that the Vodafone m8s can't be s-off'd so we have to wait for root ninja to release sunshine v3 which will work. It doest seem to far off.
Once you have s-off you can change your CID and flash the generic firmware and Rom. We just have to play the waiting game now.
I think sunshine does reset the flags for you, but I'm not sure on that. Oh and don't s-on again unless you absolutely have to send the phone in for service.
Thanks isx for your reply
I did indeed get it while it was on offer
Any ideas on the lead time of sunshine V3?
I have lollipop on my Galaxy S5 and keen to get on the HTC too
Cheers for your help
