Elk 759 version 0.33 HTC desire - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've installed Elk759 version 0.33 on my HTC Desire:
- boot into recovery
- do cache wipe
- do data wipe
- install from sdcard (ROM and gapps) as recommended by Elk759
When I now reboot the phone I only see the image of CyanogenMod10 and the boot does not go to the end. So my phone is currently not functioning.
Any suggestion what I can do?

I have the same problem. Any info would be grand <3.

me to
i have the sam problem > and i am trying to solve it
if u have a solution post it please

Which hboot?
Sd-ext partition and file sistem?
S-off or not?
.

.

See this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1891231
I had the same problem but solved by reformattig the sd card from the recovery console.
1) boot recovery console
2) go to advanced
3) choose partition SD.
Choos the size you want. i choos 1024MB which i think is the space to install apps.
Next is the swap partition choose 256MB.
reboot and it should be working..
Yes you should make a backup of your SD card if you want to keep you data.

[Q] HTC Desire Freezing on Startup (HTC Logo)

Hi everyone !
I have a little issue with my HTC Desire, i've been trying to install APP2SD after i rooted it but something went wrong and now my phone is stuck on the initial HTC Logo ! I still have access to HBoot and Clockwork Recovery ! I guess I should flash my phone again with the generic rom but I have no idea about how to do that ! Can you please help me ??
There is probably a easier fix.
What rom are you on now and how did you try to install APP2SD?
I am on the latest stock rom !
I used r1-a2sd-desire-dalvik-fresh-signed.zip on a Goldcard but i was unable to repartition my sd card using clockwork mod ... and now my phone won't start !
No idea what the zip exactly does but try wiping dalvik cache in recovery (under advanced). If that doesn't work, install Leedroid NoA2SD with a full wipe to get your phone booting again or partition your sd card with Gparted and then install Leedroid A2SD (or any other rom you like).
Can you help me out with a full reset ??
I was so stay on a stock rom ! I am currently downloading this one
First it says to partition the SD card, should I partition my normal SD Card of the Goldcard (and how to do that??), also, should i put the .zip file of the rom on the regular SD card or the gold card for the flash ??
Really thank you for you answers !
To do a full reset, boot in to recovery and wipe data/factory reset and cache. You can try rebooting after this but i don't think it will work.
To install a new rom:
Create the ext partition (i would do it on the normal card, don't know how goldcards are affected by partitioning). Use Gparted to partition, there should be enough info on how to do that if you search. Also copy all the stuff you want to keep to your pc before partitioning.
Copy your stuff and the rom back to the partition sd (fat partition)
Boot in to recovery
Wipe data/factory reset and cache
Install zip from sd
Wait and reboot.
It seems to be working fine ! Thanks a lot !
Another question and please sorry if I sound stupid ... but do I have to flash a new radio ? for now it seems like i'm receiving GSM network !
No

[Q] Installing Android 4 on HTC Desire

I hate asking a question which has probably been asked before, but I could not find this information. Is there any thread explaining how to install Android 4 on the HTC Desire?
Thanks,
Adrien
Just a normal rom:
e.g.

you have to flash it like every other custom rom. if you never flashed a custom rom before look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
android 4.0 installation is the same as any ROM , however i did not like it as it was very choppy in some area's and most builds are still in beta eg not every thing works well .
what i'd like to know is how to install the soft keys for 4.0 ?

Removed. Soft keys reduce screen space. Desire has hard keys so those are obsolete.

These are the steps you have to do:
1. S-off
2. Get the appropriate partition for the system (see the Alpharev instrutions);you need Bravo Stock or Bravo Data++ ;
3. with Geparted from Linux live cd, partition SD card FAT32 and at least 1,5Gb 4Ext, both as primary partition;
4. power-off your Desire;
5. press Vol. down and Power;
6. go in Recovery;
7. wipe data/factory reset
8. wipe cache partition
9. mounts and storage --> format boot, cache, data, system, sd-ext
10. advanced --> wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats
11. install clean rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403113 without trying to get m2sd to work;
Goodluck!

1. S-off its not needed
2-You can get an ext4 partition using Mini Partition Tool (2mins) (Windows) its the fastest method.
3. 1Gb ext4 partition its needed.
Then continue with the steps mentioned before.
Enviado desde mi HTC Desire
S-off is needed if anyone tries to change the partition table. Other than that its not necessary. If u have not yet installed any custom rom than its the Bravo Stock HBOOT.try the build from Sandvold (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355660), this is Made for STOCK HBOOT. But these roms are in the Beta stage right now. And as Dark_AJ9 mentioned, u will need a dedicated 1GB SD-Ext from ur SD card.
Go on, flash the roms u like.
yes, but you can install ICS without S-off i know it because i've had ICS and i dont have S-off

Thats right I also used ICS with S-ON. Only thing you need to do is a full wipe of everything!

How big is your EXT partition? And check if your EXT partition is being used with Quick System Info or Titanium Backup.

the firt is what i get when i try to open htc browser
the second is the what i see in quick system info
As far as i have understan AD2SDX is a program that moves cache-dalvik to sd-ex and helps mobile see sd-ex as ram.Furthermore most of .apk will be install to sd-ex after flashing AD2DSX.However cache is still on mobile's ex so that is why on xda site says:"boot into recovery, clear the Cache (but NOT the Dalvik cache) and then reboot. Then try installing the Cache Cleaner app."
Unfortunatelly i did that and still nothing.
The bad things is sometimes not only htc browser won't start and shows that picture that upload but there are some other programs that is forced to cloce such as market and facebook.(Even though all the above after wipe cache(using app)i am able to download opera mobile(25mb).Opera could browse and htc browser still gave me full storage message.)
My thought are that something went wrong at installation or it is the HBOOT.But i really don't know-understant so much thats why i need help.(it's about 1-2months i learned what root and s-off is!)
The solution is simple. Do not flash the ad2sdx. If you have titanium backup, on the first page, you can check your ext storage and see what I mean.

Your titanium backup info shows that you are using stock hboot (250MB system, 150MB data, 40MB cache). APP2SDX requires a CM7r2 hboot. Change hboot with Alpharev and try reflashing the rom again and see if you have this problem occurring again.

I was running this ROM until a few days ago. I have a stock hboot like you but I had plenty of space using the stock a2sd that comes with the ROM, no need to install run an extra script (even if it did work with stock hboot). From memory, I had 500 or 600MB remaining for apps on my 1GB ext4 partition.
Looking at your TB screen, your ext4/a2sd partition is quite small, showing a 154MB partition (not 1.2GB) with just 978kb free - this would explain the low memory errors that you are getting. It would be worth taking another look at your partition in GParted.

You don't seem to understand. He has this problem (low a2sd) because of the x script. There is no need to change the partition. If you really want to use the xscript, change the hboot to cm7r2. But I would strongly advise you not to use it. Switch your hboot to cm7r2 and use a2sd. You will get more speed and enough app space.

I just started everything from the beggining.
1)dowload and rename PB99IMG_cm7r2 to PB99IMG
2)make the partision from the begginig(just in case)
3)i put the PB99IMG the Runnymede AIO V6.0.4.3 Special Edition and my old file clockworkmod.Clockworkmod just in case.
4)update the phone with PB99IMG(did not reboot)
5)went into recovery flashed the Runnymede AIO V6.0.4.3 Special Edition
6)reboot the system
The only strange thing is between 5 and 6 i got this message:
"Aroma installer finished…
E:Error in /sdcard/Runnymede_AIO_V6.0.4.3_Special.Edition.zip
(status 0)
Installation adorted."
what does it mean???Shouldn't i get:instalation finished or something like that??
The second thing i was confused is that i get opera mobile app cache cleaner and titanium backup without downloading them if i remember well the does not come with rom!!right??
P.S:1)i didn't put the AD2SDX zip file in sd-fat32 but i did get the option of it at the preferations in the rom installation(i hadn't this option before)
2)i will use for some days the rom and tell you what i get!

Can you Post the aroma log here? I suspect it's because your have not fully wipe the partitions, hence the error. And the 2 apps it's possible that it came from before you reflashed the ROM.
The reason you have the A2SDX option now is because it is supposed to be used only with CM7r2 hboot and hence because you are using it, it appears as an option.

I didn't understant what do you mean by this :"Can you Post the aroma log here?"
I make the partision from the beggining so i believe that sd-fat32 an sd-ex4 was completely empty,so there were no app in sd.
Let's talk about the phone now i did a full wipe(1)wipe data/factory reset
2)wipe cache partision(wipe cache)
3)advanced->wipe dalvik cache
So if i am not wrong no rom and no app should be neither to sd nor to phone.Right?

1) Ignore the log part, I forgot that that's optional. Basically when you install a ROM with aroma, at the end there is an option to save log so that we can see what had gone wrong if problems cropped up like yours.
2) No. What you do just ensured that your sd-ext and data partition is empty. As such you will not have any apps, but your ROM (or most of it) is still intact as the system partition is not wiped. However, Sense roms from 3.0 and above will store some files on the sd-ext partition as there isn't enough space, so when you wipe the sd-ext (factory reset), you are left with an incomplete ROM.
Edit: To write system partition go to Advanced> format system

So you suggest to do all from the beggining adding one step before reboot system: Advanced->format system????
As i saw at recovery->advance->(i have these options: )
-reboot recovery
-wipe dalvik cache
-wipe battery stats
-report error
-key test
-show log
-partision SD card
-Fix permissions
By the way options at recovery are
-reboot system now
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partision
-install zip from sdcard
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
-power off
what should i choose??

The option should be in mounts and storage if I'm not mistaken. Sorry, all the recoveries place it at different places and I get mixed up with the locations.
So all you do is (presuming you've changed to CM7r2 and your ext partition is created)
1) Full Wipe (Factory Reset, Wipe cache, Dalvik, Format System)
2) Flash ROM
3) Flash mods (optional)
4) reboot system

Mods just means modifications to the original Rom. If you check the threads normally, other than the original rom zips, there are normally the 'addons' such as framework mods, a2sd scripts etc. which you add after flashing the Rom.

[Q] CM11 upgrade (2014-08-01 to 2014-12-10) via CWM softbricked i8150

Hey,
Had tried to upgrade from CM11 2014-08-01 to CM11 2014-12-10 (the version not (!) having the changed partition layout).
Configuration before upgrad was:
CM11 2014-08-01, CWM v6.x
What I did:
-) Used ROM Manager to do Backup of existing ROM -> failed (not enough memory on SD card/internal), tried again after changing ROM Manager settings to write backups onto external SD -> failed again (i.e. didn't even start; extenal SD has ~5GB free, so no space issue there).
-) Then I noticed that suddenly ROM Manager said it was running on v5.x (but I had v6.x installed). Did upgrade to v6.0.5.1. Worked.
-) Then used CWM to boot into recovery and install CM11 build 2014-12-10 (file: cm-11-20141210-UNOFFICIAL-ancora.zip in external SD and MD5 checked to be OK). Then in CWM did the following:
-) install zip from external SD -> started OK but stopped once installing from zip (progress bar did not start to show anything and did not appear even after 30min). Phone did no longer boot (Samsung logo apears then Sampsung Galaxy logo but w/o CyanogenMod logo then black screen...)
-) took battery out, back in and into CWM recovery (still v6.0.5.1)
-) wipe data
-) wipe cache
-) wipe dalvik cache (in advanced)
-) format system
-) format cache
-) mount USB and download the and then downloaded cm-11-20141210-UNOFFICIAL-ancora.zip again onto external SD
-) interestingly, only the external but not (!) the internal/SDcard is visible in Windows explorer ?!?
-) tried again to instal from external SD -> failed again with same issue as stated above.
Please help me getting my Galaxy W back to working order!
Many thanks in advance,
Frugi
For what I have read probably you have the wrong recovery. the recovery on the cm11 thread, if I'm not wrong) is not compatible to the version you are trying to install.
Try to flash the last recovery in the thread and the last version of cm11 which is from 23-12.

CM13 GT-P5200 3G - no sim card detected

Hi!

- open_gapps-x86-6.0-stock-20170228
- TWRP 3.0.2-0-santos103g and following instruction:
Copy ROM to SDCard
Copy Houdini to SDCard
Copy GApps to SDCard
Boot into recovery
Backup EFS partition
Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> Dalvik Cache + System + Cache + Data
Install ROM
Install Houdini
Install GApps
Reboot
First start takes a long time
WiFi is working fine, but SIM CARD is not detected.
When I tried install stock ROM by using TWRP I got bootloop. Could you tell me, what can I do?
Thanks in advance for help ,
