Word! Glad development is still ongoing for this little phone that rocks. Will install tonight and give it a whirl and report back any issues.
Cheers mate!
Speeding through the sky in my Superlite JB powered SkyRocket

Installed, thus far so good. Little bug though, although GPS works with Maps, the automatic time settings sticks with GMT, it does not detect my time zone, and when I try to manually set the time zone, system hans then just goes back to settings screen. Otherwise very nice, smooth, and a decent ROM. Great work!

thank you for the kind words and the feedback... im working on getting the time bug figured out... ive only experienced it once, and switching to a new and freshly partitioned sd card, followed by fresh wipe/flash has fixed the issue for me... im only one man so i appreciate any/all advice/bug reports/etc...

NOTE: update posted, changelog in op, enjoy!..

update posted, enjoy... let me know what you think...

All good with the update except my home and search don't work now. Tried flshover first, wouldn't boot. So I did full wipe and its running well.
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium

home/search keys work... you did flash xgapps correct?... and partitioned sd with xonia or teamwin recovery?...

Yes flashed xgapps. Recovery is CWM but card has been partition for a while. Did it on my Ubuntu PC.
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium

hmmm... the init.d script calls for ext4... perhaps yours is formated to ext2-3?...ive always used recoveries to partition... (just makes more sense to me)... please repartition with either of the suggested recoveries in the op...

It is ext4 and works fine on your build from 9/19 I have flashed back to that for now as I have zero issues with that build. Was just trying the update.
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium

ill check it out, but both ports are working fine for me... ill flash back to xperia and do some testing...

Just saying that I can confirm this ROM works with the PlayStation mobile network app store. Just downloaded and installed on my OV from the Engadget link.
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium

thanks for the feedback!... glad to know the certificate is working... note, i used a better a2sd script in the update... so i definitely suggest repartitioning and flashing it... internal storage will equal your partition size.... (no more storage woes, ever)... im working on updates again... gonna start fresh and slim rom down, and make a flashible zip for xtras that i remove...

Good to know. I may wait for the next update though since this ROM is running so well for me now. If I repartition my sdcard, how can I backup/ restore sd-ext? Is it ok to backup the whole partition and then just copy out Brazil onto the Neely formatted partition? I've never dealt with backing up sd-ext before, just nandroids.
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium

- i advise starting fresh and flashing one of the recoveries suggested in the op
- use it to partition your sd card
- format boot/system/data/cache/sd-ext/dalvik
- disable signature verification
- install rom>reboot
- adjust system settings>reboot recovery
- wipe cache/dalvik>flash gapps>reboot
- enjoy...

I am be no means a dev, just ran it through kitchen rooted deodexed and zipaligned. Does not include radio and you will not lose root. No updates to this as im not a dev. Its stock mysense 2.3.4. I guess I should add im am not responsible for any damage to your phone. Currently running on mine with no issues.

No, it doesn't. Check the screenshots.
Anybody willing to ice cream theme it? I bet this ROM still runs pretty fast on the glacier

Just flashed this. Pretty neat but too laggy as a daily. Market is slow to open, same with other apps .
But thank you for taking the time to post this up
Edit: after running a fix permissions and rebooting things seem to have picked up the pace.
Wow! Thank you very much for sharing this! Btw, what radio would you recommend for this version?
this is the radio that was pulled by krazie1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20150354&postcount=10
Installs but wont boot
Here's how I did it, tell me where I made a mistake:
Installed updated radio and then using ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0 did the following:
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-advanced -Wipe Dalvik Cache
-advanced -Fix Permissions
After all that, installed glacier_signed_120911_211623.zip still using ClockworkMod Recovery. It said: Verification Failed. Toggled Verification to DISABLED and successfully installed glacier_signed_120911_211623.zip
Now, it starts to boot and just hangs there until I take the battery out.
HELP!!!
Sounds like a bad download, try an redownload. It takes a while to boot.
Alright, Ill try to download it again.... server is so slooooow tho oh and btw, I already have S-OFF, just in case if it makes a difference
its been downloaded almost 500 times and no else said anything. i bet its a bad download
Works well, no issues except for Sense crashing every once in awhile. Did you get the 9.4 Mb/s download on this ROM? if not, what were your build.prop settings? I live in Houston, and the highest I have gotten on CM was 6.5 Mb/s, and that was with build.prop ro.ril setting changed. I was going to try and remove some of the HTC logging stuff, have you tried already?
cant remeber the rom but i was probly 100ft from tower im guessing. every time im on that road it his 9mb
Works well
Sent from my LG-P999
just a quick question, we flash the zip and flash the radio zip over after that?
thank you
Flash the radio through hboot
thank you very much, got it all thru
its kinda nice to go back to stock after awhile using other rom,
you know any % battery mod for the stock 1?

[RECOVERY] CWMR 5.5.0.4 for I957 (LTE)

Hello,
I have ported the latest clockworkmod recovery to the galaxy 8.9 LTE i957 tablet.
This is a recovery and not a kernel, thus you can run whatever you wish.
Instructions:
0) MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN I957, do not flash this otherwise.
1) Flash this file via ODIN: CWMR5x_i957_recovery.tar.md5
2) Attempt a backup (there appears to be a bug in 5.5.0.4 that long names can possibly cause it to hang during a backup.) If it works or fails, reboot and mount your tablet in your OS. If you get hung, adb shell into your device and reboot it.
3) After your tab is mounted, go into the clockworkmod folder and create an EMPTY FILE with NO EXTENSION called .hidenandroidprogress
Note the period and lack of extension. This prevents the backup routine from enumerating the file list which I suspect is causing the hang during backup.
This is considered an ALPHA release with only two users thus far. No loss of data or damage was caused in the testing of this file. Please try it and report any issues you have with it. I am hoping this opens up the development for this device. I personally dont have it nor did I have access to one when I ported this so I need the community's help to track down issues/bugs. This was a pretty big challenge to get everything working right.
The full device tree I built for this can be found here:
android_device_samsung_SGHI957
Feel free to use this however you wish, though please give credit if it helps you devs.
Thanks to orlandoxpolice and jaywheelz for patiently testing this thus far.
OP updated with alpha build
Thanks for all your hard work

Thanks utkanos all the work is much appreciated.
This is amazing utkanos!
I'm gonna send ya another donation for all your hard work!
wahoooo!
Oh and hey I helped too, sacrificed one tab to the samsung gods!
I have tested everything with this recovery except for sd card re partitioning, wipe data / factory reset, and restore (nandroid).
Known Issues:
If you enter key test, you cant back out.
nandroid backup may hang for some users, the .hidenandroidprogress may have fixed this.
mounting and unmounting data is finicky sometimes.
Orlando is this the same file we had last night? Or it's it slightly changed since then?
Same file. I also installed cwm from market and enabled quick recovery and it worked
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using xda premium
I thought cwm from the market causes our tab to go haywire. Is it the as what utkanos did or a different version?
You can install the program just don't flash its recovery. Go into options and enable quick recovery
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using xda premium
Yeah I've been using quick boot from the market.
Any updates?
I'm finally done moving so should be available again.
Development is done until we get more testers

Ok guys
I installed the recovery in my new SGH-I957 and all went well, now I have only tried the "wipe Dalvik cache" and it works great!

First testing the backup, the tablet hangs while copying the file "android.hardware.location.xml"
So I created the file ".hidenandroidprogress" (with Polaris office) and I have saved in the dir "clockworkMod/backup." I tried again to backup and it worked.
Now I have to try a restore, but I will tomorrow or the next!
Max
Awesome!
Look forward to hearing the results of the restore!
So was a restore successful?
If so, I may factory reset mine, root, wipe all the junkware/bloatware, garbage bookmarks, do my browser tweaks, a few other random bits and pieces, and post it up here as a cleaned up, rooted stock rom.
Don't have the success of installing it.. it said is a wrong tar or md5 file and it soft bricked it.. guess I'll wait for the next update.. thanks again

Symlink: Some Symlinks failed

Can anyone advise how one would go about fixing the S3's internal partition tables? I believe I need to flash someone else's table?
Help!
Some context:
I've been having this issue where my S3 runs into a symlink failure/Status 7 error whenever I try to flash a Jelly Bean rom, ie. CM10/PA/Jellybro. This occurred despite me having the latest 5.8.4.7. CWM, wiped and reformatted EVERYTHING, etc. I posted a sample of where the recovery error log shows the flashing processes failing here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30287780&postcount=302
Lots of XDA member offered advice with no avail. I remember one member mentioned something about partition tables, so I dug a little deeper. I noticed that the error log also contained error messages about missing directories and my sd-ext not mounting, which is strange since I can access my external sdcard under /mnt/extsdcard directory, and the two directory names aren't matching. So I downloaded an partition table app and saw the following:
http://imgur.com/6r4Vo
Basically, it looks like my partition tables are somehow corrupted and my sdcard and external SD is being mounted for use, but somehow...incorrectly. I'm thinking this is the likely culprit.
What was the app you ran to get that? And what rom were you running when you took that screenshot?
You said its happening when you try to flash jellybean. Do you have any problems with cm9, or stock?

I ran this app called partition table.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5jbHMucGFydGl0aW9uIl0.
Oy, I missed the reviews where people are saying that this returns bogus info.
Anyways, here's the situation with what I could/could not flash
-Could not flash CM10/ParanoidA/Jellybro/one other ICS rom that I couldn't think of
-COULD flash CM9, as well as restore nandroid backup of older redrum stripped stock (which is what I ran this off of)
-Tried to flash from CWM/TWRP, neither worked
Back to the partition table, even though that app may be malfunctioning, there were still lines in the recovery error log that indicated that the loader was trying to access /sd-ext, when the external SD in my CWM is displayed as /external_sd. Also, it was trying to reference, edit, and delete from non-existent sources, which seems to indicate that these instructions are being misdirected. If this sounds like another error, I'm all ears.
Well, that is an odd problem! If stock based and other roms flash and run normally, I seriously doubt it'll be a partition related problem. While in cwm recovery, in mounts and storage did you check to make sure your sd was mounted? I may be wrong but I seem to remember some had problems with it correctly recognizing the external sd. In twrp there should be an option just above the slider to use either internal or external.
Sounds like its a problem more with your recovery to me. Try downloading goo.im from play store and use that to install the latest twrp recovery.
If that doesn't work the only other thing I can think to try is to apply the FULL latest update from samsung, UVALH I believe. Install using kies and I think it will rewrite the whole system to pure stock. You will have to reroot, but its definately worth trying before messing with the partitions. If you do that, use goo.im to reinstall twrp and give it a go again.
If I think of anything else to try ill let you know but for now that's the best I can think of.
Just to be sure what model phone do you have? T999, T999V, i9300?

I'm on the T999, T-Mobile.
To your question I've tried TWRP and CWM and neither works. The external SD cards were mounted in recovery during my attempts. I've actually tried using an earlier version of CWM to flash directly from the external SD card, to the exact same results.
I'll try the Samsung update; my hope is that it also provides a partition refresh. It is indeed a unique problem!
Its the best thing I can think of, so hope it fixes everything. If it is a corrupt partition it should rewrite it, so lets hope!
One other thing, what version of twrp were you using? 2.2.1.1 is the latest for our phone. I think there's an older unofficial one out there and even though it would say the sd was mounted, you would have to go into the backup section and look at available space to confirm that. There were also problems with the touch cwm recovery...
I think the way the gs3 handles the sdcard is part of the problem with those though.
Anyway, good luck! Let me know how it goes!

TWRP didn't work and neither did flashing the new Samsung update.
I'm absolutely baffled at this point. I can't find what the hell are causing these symlink errors anywhere.
Sorry I don't have any other ideas. Just to be sure though, did you flash the rooted rom, or use kies or odin to install the update directly from samsung?
Actually, one or two more ideas, though I wouldn't expect much at this point.
You could try using odin to reflash the original shipped version....you never know.
Or
Go into the updater-script and wherever it tries to use /sd-ext, change it to /external_sd, or whatever your error log says its looking for.
Definately ask another dev if its worth trying before doing that!
You may want to examine what is happening with any simlinks in there as well. Unfortunately Im probably not the best person to troubleshoot that stuff. But if you want to attach a copy of your logfile ill be glad to take a look.
Sorry I haven't been better help for you.

Hey, I actually fixed it; It turns out I had to reflash a stock insecure kernel, reboot into recovery, AND force a signature check to get it to work. It's strange, because the first flash had some issues and upon trying to reflash it I had to repeat the whole kernel flash process all over again or else it ran into the same symlink error.
I had tried flashing other kernels before but still had errors; it took be sitting down and flashing every kernel for the phone I could find, paired with a ODIN stock flash, to get it to work. I'm still not sure why this phone seems to have this sensitivity about it.
Anyways, thanks for your help; I'm going to post this around in case anyone else has this issue.
Awesome! Great work figuring that out!
(And props for changing the title!)
I'm still a little confused as to why symlinks were failing, but in the end as long as there's a resolution Im thinking it'll be ok!
After getting it to install again have you tried installing anything from recovery? Just curious if its a problem you will have to dance around on future flashes, or if this seems to have solved it altogether.
Either way, excellent job! I love solutions!

I just can't tell. And it's also worth noting that that failure occurred with different kernels.
I'm going to flash more JB roms as they come along but I'll have backups ready this time. Ostensibly, now that I have a base down I should be able to get around similar errors with a little elbow grease, as opposed to days of OCD-driven anguish. But you'll note that I already ran into the error right after successfully flashed it the first time. I still feel like there's some setting or another that needs to be adjusted in the background. But for now, at least I can sleep.
Cheers and thanks for the help and suggestions mate. :good:
Rest well! You deserve it after all that!
And id be keeping multiple nandroid backups laying around!
Anyway, I've only had a chance to glance at those logs you posted. Now that things have calmed down ill look at em more closely in case anything jumps out at me. I think you are probably right that there is still some issue in there somewhere. I don't know about you but I hate that feeling!
But at least that sense of urgency is diminished!

I just tried to flash the latest 8/20 CM10 with all of the aforementioned precautions and it failed a couple of times, even reflashing the 8/18 rom from last night didn't work. It seems like after several tries it just...clicked? And it then did flash.
I wonder if it's a bad sector in my internal memory?
Ugh, I would hope not. How long have you had the phone? If you can it may be worth thinking about trying to exchange for another.
Bad memory can cause all sorts of crazy problems. If it were me I might not want to risk waiting to see how it goes.

I have similar issues. If I flash speed rom or any cm10, I get the error. Also if I flash wicked v2 it won't boot, this is a rom based on stock4.0.4. My question is where did you find the signature verification? I have stock recovery 3e I believe, but don't see that option.
Btw, all other roms flash and run fine, including aokp, wicked v1, xquisite, and everything else.
You'll have to have a custom recovery installed.

Right, you'll want CWM or (I think) TWRP. CWM definitely has it; you should be able to flash it from rom manager if nothing else.
Meh, looks like I'm right back where i started, symlink failures up the wazoo again.
Need to find way to flash roms in ODIN, if that's even possible.

[HOW-TO][GUIDE] So you want to install CM10 alpha on your Retail Droid Razr M? 11-16

SO YOU WANT TO INSTALL CYANOGENMOD?
SO! You might be new to Motorola, or Android, or Maybe even smartphones in general! I put together this Guide/Thread to help anyone new to the RAZR M with the installation and usage of Cyanogenmod on this phone!
First of all, i just want to say thanks to Hashcode, dhacker29, and any others who helped make this a reality on the Droid Razr M
NO ONE, OTHER THEN YOU, ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING YOUR PHONE INTO A PAPER-WEIGHT!! YOU ARE TO BLAME!
Before we flash, we must understand, there WILL be bugs at the beginning. most notably, Camera, WiFi and calls are a bit wonky so make sure this will work for you!
Requirements:
A rooted Droid RAZR M (either jellybean or ice cream sandwich, preferably jb ota)
The newest Safestrap.apk link (3.05.20 at the moment)
Rom of choice.
Now we have
CM10
CM10.1 Preview
AOKP alpha
The latest gapps for Jellybean Gapps
Steps for Installation:
0) Make sure you're rooted!!! This WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU'RE ROOTED!!!
1) Download ALL of the files above and put them in a place where you will remember, for me, i put them on the root of my SD Card.
2) Locate the Safestrap APK on the sd card using a file manager and install it.
3) Open the Safestrap application. You should get a popup from Superuser asking for permission. Allow it.
4) Next, hit the "Install Recovery" option and wait. This should only take a couple of seconds.
5) After safestrap is installed, power off the device. Once its off, power it back on. After the Motorola Splash screen, there should be a new, Safestrap screen. we're getting there!
6) On this safestrap screen, it should say "Safestrap Disabled" in red letters with the words "recovery" in the bottom left and "Continue" in the bottom right. Hit "Recovery"
7) Safestrap should boot up now. The screen will look like TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) to those that are familiar with twrp.
7.5) (OPTIONAL) Make a backup of your stock rom by pressing backup and sliding to backup.
8) Now, we must set up a Rom Slot. In the Safestrap menu, press "Boot Options" in the top left, which will have a blue outline.
9) Next, press ROM-Slot-1. System Partition and Cache Partition cannot be changed but the Data partition can. I recommend using 1 gb, unless you plan on installing a lot of apps.
10) This should take a while. After it is complete, the new Rom Slot is activated, meaning it will boot from that new slot from now on.
11) Press the home button to return back to the main screen. Now that we have a rom slot, we can install Cyanogenmod! From the main screen press "Install". It should launch and File Explorer-like UI with your SD Card already loaded. If it is on your SD Card, just scroll down until you see the rom and press it. Then slide to unlock.
12) After the rom installation is complete, we must install the Google apps (Gapps for short). When the installation is complete, hit the back button and find your Gapps package. install it like we installed Cyanogenmod. After the install, hit reboot system.
13) We are done! When you reboot, you should see the Motorola splash screen and then the safestrap screen, BUT, it will say "Safestrap Enabled" now and the picture will look different. Either wait the 10secs or press the "Continue" button on the bottom left. You should boot into Cyanogenmod
FAQ:
Q) Would you recommend installing the Cyanogenmod 10 Alpha?
A) Absolutely! Although it may not be a daily driver, its a good taste of what to come and VERY stable for a first release.
Q) Is it reversible?
A) Yes! 110%! If you want to go back to stock, but keep the CM10 on the rom slot, just go back into boot options, press the "Stock" option and hit activate. It should boot stock motorola android
Q) This is great! Who should I throw my money at?
A) Hashcode and dhacker29. They are awesome and TOTALLY deserve donations.
Q) This sucks! It made my phone come to live and eat my dog! Who do i blame?
A) Yourself. You take the responsibility for what you do to your phone. Not hashcode, dhacker or me.
If you run into errors, have questions, or any suggestions, don't be shy to post in here
Mods, I was unsure wether to post in General or Development, so if this is considered development, you can move it
Awesome guide. I have been playing with CM all day after it was released last night and loving it. However, I had trouble mounting my sdcard while attempting to install. I ended up using adb to push the zip to the new rom while in recovery and it worked like a charm. I am assuming that this might work for people without an sdcard at all. Perhaps this is worth noting? I am not quite sure, this is my first smartphone

Yeah. The sd card is mounted pretty strangely in safestrap. I think it may be why hashcode was working out a few bugs. I'll fix up the guide in the am

Alright. This is definitely a good guide though! Keep up the good work.
The SD card is located as /external_SD/ in recovery, you can choose internal or external bubble but either way keep going up directories, until you get to the root, then locate the /external_SD folder
Also I suggest putting this link in op
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/10/16/droid-razr-hd-razr-m-and-atrix-hd-all-rooted/
So people can have the proper tools with which too root with or else safe strap and cm are pointless
And I have a thread in dev section with extra stuff and tips for making cm10 faster check it out maybe merge some of the links or info here?

I saw the directory, but it wasn't mounting. I have a feeling it has to do with my sdcard however. It's a pretty old card.

Has anyone tried this on the JB leak? I haven't done the OTA b/c I'm a little lazy to restore and etc. At least I have titanium backup.

Was thinking I may be able to get some help in here. I just got my RAZR M yesterday, rooted and Safestrap and running Pimp My Rom scripts. In Pimp My Rom I can download BeatsAudio as a .zip. I downloaded it but can't figure out how to flash it via Safestrap. The install tab in Safestrap is inaccessible to me.

Are you still using the stock ROM? Flashing to the stock is disabled atm.
what paul said ^.
if you really want to flash something, try making a backup, setting up a rom slot, and restoring to the rom slot. that'll allow flashing, idk if itll work though.

Ah yea I'm on stock. If I was to set up a rom slot and restore to it it would just be identical to what I'm currently running correct? And by restoring to a rom slot my current slot wouldn't be harmed or modified correct?

[NEW][KERNEL][REPACK] FL16 with AGAT tREC_v0.3.2 recovery

After countless attempts and many hours of trial and error
I present the FL16 Repack Kernel with new recovery tRec_0.3.2.
This recovery has been compiled with CM10 (JB) source and works better with JB roms/OS.
The repack is not perfect yet but it can be used as daily driver as is.
I'll continue working on it and try to fix remaining bugs.
Now to repack.
What is working:
Backup
Restore
Flash zip files
Wipe Dalvik
Wipe cache
Wipe/Factory Reset
Restore Nand back up created by previous recovery/previous OS
Apps on sd and paid apps problem is mostly fixed.
You can reboot phone, power off from power down menu or from quick boot.
Apps on sd and/or paid apps will disappear only after battery pull and/or when you restore nand back up coming from ICS.
I did perform following tests.
Restore ICS back up from JB kernel/recovery - Restore complete phone booted.
Restore JB back up while running ICS - Not going through in one run. It will restore boot/recovery and bail on system restore. Just boot to recovery from boot menu. It will take you to new recovery. Start restore again and you JB back up will be restored
Flashed ICS rom from JB recovery - flash went thru. Phone booting normally.
Flashed JB (Shadow-God's rom) from ICS recovery - flash went thru. Phone booting normally.
Restored JB back up while running JB rom - restore completed. Phone booted normally. Apps on sd and paid apps are present.
This is a short list of all tests performed thus far.
I know there are quite a few good JB roms and I don't wanna delay release anymore.
So here we go:
AGAT_FL16_repack2.tar
As stated above apps on sd and paid apps issue is arising only after battery pull and/or nand restore from ICS.
In case that happens to you I'll suggest to keep Mobile ODIN and a stock kernel tar handy so if you have to pull the battery you
can flash stock kernel reboot phone and flash repack again.
Hopefully I can fix last remaining bugs soon.
Till than
Enjoy.
You rock agat Thanks for all your hard work

Installed perfectly and was able to backup. One thing I noticed which really doesn't mean much is that when i first go into playstore, I must first connect with 3g and then I can reconnect to WiFi and then resume session in playstore. No problem but just wanted to point out incase someone has an issue with playstore.

Did you check the MD5sum before you flashed? Also, how did you flash it? What ROM are you on? I flashed with mobile odin and all is well for me.

Noticed that same thing both with playstore and Amazon Appstore. Once I connected with 3G it was fine in wifi.
