PSA: Spend your Google Prepaid Card before it's gone. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

https://www.google.com/wallet/prepaid-refund/
Spend that $10 you got from Google Wallet now before it goes away on October 17. Apparently you can ask for a refund after that date, but you're charged $2 every 30 days you don't buy anything.

Damn, well I spent mine 2weeks after getting it launch day
Didn't launch owners get 25$? Or was it just the 10$

Yah just got this email too. I gotta find something to spend it on lol.

I have $9 from my second s3 left
Do you think they would give me a refund for money they gave me?

Is there anyway to use this to purchase something from Google Play? I've tried adding it in as a prepaid card with the number, but no go. It would be nice to use this to buy a few apps or something.

How do I get my $10? Do I need to add one of my cards first?
Edit- never mind

Anyway to spend it on something fun? The only place I've used it is at 7-11 so I guess I could use the remaining balance on it for a few drops of gas

what? they recently introduced this prepaid feature and already axing it? why not keep it there as an option for those that don't have credit/debit cards..
this is typical of how google works.. if they don't make millions on something, kill it.

They are getting rid of it because you can use your own credit/debit card now with Google Wallet, so no need for them to keep the prepaid option.

I think the point was to have an option where people can just pay onto the 'cash account' at a retail POS like 7-Eleven as some people don't have a CC or debt card.

It wouldn't make any sense, the point of the per paid cards was a bit of an incentive to the quote unquote beta testers. And now that we can use any credit card, there's no point to it.

Well if you don't have a credit/debit card, can't you just get a prepaid one from a store (walmart) and add it to the wallet?

I really don't see the harm in leaving it up. If my aunt wanted to send me money, I had a prepaid card to charge her credit card to...then she won't ask why there's $5.09 used every few days (cigarettes) ha. But I guess I'll just get a real prepaid card and put it in my phone. But that kills the purpose of me using Google wallet. Not every place has a nfc reader thingie

Damn, didn't know i got free $$$ with this phone. How do i redeem? And you get free $$$ for the play store also???

You just go onto Google Wallet and activate a Google Prepaid Card iirc. The $10 can only be used in real life, so no play store credit.

Help with amc stubs app and Google wallet

Has anyone tried to purchase movie tickets with the amc stubs app, and paid using Google wallet as method of payment? I'm trying to use my $10 that comes with Google wallet, with no success. Tia

I think the whole point of the $10 was so people would try it as a credit card on those specific machines. I don't think you can spend it on online stuff or anything app-related

Well it gives me the option, download the app and see for yourself. You don't need to actually make the purchase to see the option. Tia

Google Wallet Prepaid Card

So, as you all probably know by now, the Google Wallet Prepaid Cards will expire come October. I need to know what to spend 10 bucks on lol. Not too many places arround me have NFC terminals except like Circle K or something. So anything useful from the market or accessories online?
The NFC works with those things that say "paypass"

What happened to my $10 - Google Wallet?

When I first got my Evo back in June 2012, I signed up for GWallet just to see what it was and I was given $10 in my account.
I never logged back into it again until recently (on my Galaxy S3), I was trying to show someone that Google gave me $10 just for signing up.. and blah... it wasn't there.
I never spent it on anything. Did they just take it back?
Yea the $10 expired a short time ago.

Any idea who I can contact to get it back?
I also got $25 credit from my Nexus 7. I wonder if that's gone too. =[ That's 35 free bucks. haha.
Has anyone noticed that when re-loading their Google Wallet after a flash, the Google Pre-paid card is completely missing? If I restore a TB of it, I get it back, but then it won't work properly at retailers
According to the emails, and the in-app warnings, I still have time to spend it, but I can't figure out how!
The money doesn't transfer through devices, the $10 you got for the LTEvo sticks with that device, same for the SIII and N7, had all 3 spent all the money from all.

Go to the store. Use both phones. And decide which you like better.
How does the nexus 4 cost 500$ in the end? Google is selling it for 299 or 349.

unless you are like me and have 12 GB of movies and music on your device.....
ummm...here's the question you need to ask yourself (speaking to OP)....
are you a big media, music person? if not, then absolutely get it.
if you are, don't waste your time. there is not external storage (no micro sd) support on the nexus 4... huge fail IMO. i would have been all over that. just really didn't feel like using up all my storage by simply transferring all of my ***t to my new device. what is this an android/iPhone? i was confused by that feature being absent. i guess they can't give you EVERYTHING... but that is a big thing to exclude IMO.
fail.
Right but with all tthe cloud storage I dont see the need for the SD card

yeah sure... cloud storage is great if you have a 42 MBs connection everywhere you go. you can't depend on your data connection 100% of the time. and how many people have unlimited data? if you don't have unlimited data plans, forget it. you gonna throw your entire hard drive of movies on your cloud? no thanks.
i see your point..But I can just do one movie delete then another and then delete why keep a bunch of movies on your device (unless you are going on a long trip or something)

nice to have the option.
and it becomes more of a real issue if you are somebody who has a vast music collection.... i would rather not pick and choose on a weekly basis what music and movies i have to keep or delete on my device. that's what micro SD cards are for.... they remove the requirement to even have to think about it. it's just there. all the time. at your fingertips. right when you want it.

When all that's said and then, get the (Far superior and arguably THE BEST PHONE TO DATE) SG3 and then sell it like a crack junkie for the weaker Nexus 4 !!!
You should get the nexus 4 because you can't even appreciate how truly great the SGS3 is!!!
By the way the "S" stands for superior

P.S. This thread is ridiculous not only can't I believe it's creation but also that the mods haven't shut it down yet or moved it!!!
I love my SGS3, but the Nexus 4 is tempting. The lack of SD card storage may be the deal breaker.
OK my opinion is this. I first got the g2x and went through about 5 of them because of screen issues and random reboots. Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S3, 0 returns. Solid phone works perfect, I can't complain. I remember my brother told me that LG makes awesome televisions and my response to him was then they should stick to that. Again this is my opinion it's all up to you. But after my experience with LG, I would not purchase another phone from them again. Good luck.

If you're talking about getting a s3 thru tmobile's deal with the mail in rebates, you might want to make sure that they don't require you keep the device until the mail in rebate is cleared and received.

Thanks for the reply I've had it working on my Galaxy Nexus a couple of years ago and haven't tried since. It worked then. I'm gonna keep trying anyway. I managed to get in to the point where I can create a pin and add a card so I'll see if the prepaid Vanilla Visa and Shopper's still work. I refuse to sign up for Rogers' Suretap scam.
Im using the suretap wallet and it works well, exactly what google wallet does without haking or anything.... I use it all the time you should a least give it a try so see how well it works...

I looked into that scam already. 2$ everytime you want to reload. 2.50$ /month service fee and they charge you 10$ if you want to cancel. TD Bank is coming out with something soon so hopefully it's better. Thanks for the help tho.

Maybe they are Ive never used prepaid cards before, but paying with my phone isn't worth paying the fees. I can just as easily tap my debit card instead.
