Better Snag Post #2 While I Still Can!

Nice!
Good to have choices, especially bleeding edge up to date stuff.
Thanks.

if Chrome says its Malicious... like Jubakuba says in the post below its not! TYVM! for the kick a*s rom.

I assure you chrome is wrong...
Not that it's any "proof" but
<-----
I've put quite a bit of time into this site.
And I love AOKP.
If my intentions were malicious it would all go to waste, obviously.

So far Its running great, very nice work! *had to flash a kernel to get it to boot

Jubakuba, pm sent.

Just a bump...and a reminder that this exists
Oh, and Build 2 mods have been out since release...

Yay!
Git being down kept builds from being made.
And it coming up yesterday right when I was heading to class didn't help.
To make up for it...
I picked a BUNCH of cherries.
Some had to be rebased... but it seems I've done everything correctly in my testing on grouper.
Mods MIGHT not make it in.
My PC is slooowwww. And I have class.
Grouper up now.
Toro and Maguro sometime soon (a few hours).
TORO and MAGURO UP!
And I'll go ahead and make the mods...I think I have time to finish Maguro up too.
Mods soon.
Dual Panel at any DPI is pretty dope!
Even looks nice on TORO.

Your mods (center lock and no nav...please read OP for info since ya'll are new) are up.
As are the official Build 3 mods.

Are you running the official build 3?
And did you boot up once before applying?
Can anyone else confirm?
I'm not at home to decompile it and make sure everything is correct but I'm fairly certain it should be OK...been doing these for a while now.
Unless I just derped somewhere ..

Just had a user confirm it's working for him on Maguro.
So you flashed the ROM...and booted up.
Then you reboot recovery and flash the mod? It might take a few extra seconds to boot the first time but it should without issue.

Without answering my questions I can't help, man...
Process:
Install build 3.
Boot up.
Reboot recovery.
Install mod.
Don't wipe anything. Boot up again.
The only reason I outline this is I thought I was boot looping myself once so I reflashed after booting up from then on.

Depends. You want Picasa sync or CM camera features? Me, I've opted for camera and am using the 7/26 Gapps.
Sucks if you're stopping the dropbox, it would of been an instant way to know a new update is out, at least from a PC. Still (mostly) any method of getting PA is good enough for me.

I removed the links. I am not aware of devhost having a problem but thought I'd share my unused bandwidth. It's also good in case devhost does go offline. If you ever change your mind I'd be happy to mirror files for you

I would have to upload twice, if I can write a script to do this completely automatically I might resume Dropbox. But for now it will be only devhost because Dropbox is too much of a hassle.
Ah Man,Don't Do that ! Don't Stop Sharing on Dropbox !!! You were doing a great job !!
So I downloaded and installed last night. First let me say thank you!
While it may not seem like much, Blackboard Learn works on this ROM on toroplus, something that was lacking still in CM10. I am still adjusting to the hybrid features and really love what options this gives. Sorting through the custom settings for individual apps is taking some adjusting to but that is with any new ROM. It takes some adjustment.
I have had one instance where I changed the DPI on an app. Email and it asked to reboot. The phone was charging and failed to reboot. I had to pull the battery. I couldn't replicate this issue but I did feel like some feedback should be documented in case someone else experiences this.
I flashed as a clean install after a nandroid of CM10 and then wiped everything.
Thanks again!

Ubuntu Touch Port

Hello everyone, I thought we could start some Ubuntu Touch porting so wanted to share thoughts, ideas, development and maybe do this as a community work. I'm currently preparing everything (slow adsl) and trying to figure out which are the steps to be followed
It's not very difficult according to: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
But we've a first problem, the porting requires the use of CM10.1 repos and cm10.1 for our device is a bit of a dream atm, better, there's the repo but no nightly at all. Would we be able or would it be worth to try to use one of the cm10.1 porting available for the hox or we must wait for an official nightly?
I think I should give a try, but I don't really want to waste my time so I may be missing something important which absolutely requires the official repos.
Ideas?
P.s sorry if this isn't the most appropriate section, tell me and even move the thread if necessary, but I'd prefer to stay away from "nice thanks", "fantastic" and so posts, they make no sense now since it's too soon and just distract.
Can't we use tbalden's kernel and device trees? It's as official as it gets.

You mean this https://github.com/cyanogenmod/android_device_htc_endeavoru? I haven't followed cm10.1 porting and development very much so it's pretty much what I was asking, when compiling a rom starting from this repo, will it work?

The builds from that repo have all been really solid. I guess it'll serve as a base.
Thanks, will start from it tomorrow, it's midnight here and still waiting for the download to finish...
Moved to Q&A
Nevermind this post.
I'm trying to port it too but download is really slow. We have CM10.1 for our device. but i think it's juste usefull to boot.
Keep following your work too.
I've synced 3 hrs now and only have fetched 2Gb. They should probably invest in some servers.
lol... my download crashed during the night... now i'm at 88% for phablet.. and waiting also for CM10.1...
Edit: My download crashed again at 15.45 pm...... i'll become crazy...
Call to all:
I've finished the actual porting process. Now I have to iron out compiling errors. Hopefully I'll be able to boot soon!

Trebuchet will FC randomly
Phone speaker will crackle with some notification sounds/music
Report back:
-Seems to be running great. I've had it running around 8 hours so far. No recent FC's.
-Volume +/- works great when setting to skip tracks for music apps when screen is off.
-Homescreen padding actually makes sense. (more room)

I personally felt the same way but after trying 4.3 cam I had a change of heart. I don't find myself using all the features and one reason is because I find the tw cam very laggy and awful with low light setting. 4.3 is just faster and more straight forward for that quick point and shoot and still great quality.

Here is the camera for people to test out before switching from TouchWiz (if you're still deciding). DOWNLOAD FOCAL
EDIT: Reportedly works on various 4.2.2 and 4.3 builds.
Did a clean install and I had no APN's. It wouldn't allow me to add one either. Also tried KT kernel and it booted upon first boot with no boot animation but when I rebooted, it stayed on the black screen. Anyone else have these issues?

Very stable ROM. I haven't come across any issues other than the screen not adjusting properly when switching to Extended Desktop.
Multi-Touch issues still persist. I haven't confirmed this yet, but it seems I'm not getting Hangouts notifications. I will confirm this later.

The 3.4 kernel indicates KKBL, but I don't know if anyone is or will be working on a JBBL version.
Ouch... Still it's possible to get Linux v. 3.4 kernel to work with Jelly Beans bootloader, just takes a bit work in figuring out how to make it work. I didn't like Kit Kat bootloader, too much problems.

Well, still. I was put off by the Kit Kat bugs, and I wouldn't want it to happen again, I had to replace the battery due to slow thermal damage (the phone obviously ran too hot - I noticed the damage was already done by the time I downgraded my RAZR M back to Jelly Beans in order to run cooler, I tried calibrating it, the runtime nosedove).

So I've downloaded it and flashed it, while flashing it returned an error with mounting something regarding msm8960 in /data but in the end it said that flashing is done. The ROM doesn't boot on my phone, it's possible that I did something wrong I was in school when I tried it.

Thanks Attack. Care to comment on what works and what does not?

How long did you wait for it to boot? I know when I flashed Lollipop on my Galaxy Nexus, it took forever..... to boot.
EDIT:
On CM12 Test build the sim card doesn't work. Nevermind got working. I wiped everything + formatted data, then I pulled my sim then re-inserted it.

About 15 minutes, guess that wasn't long enough. Gonna test it again later in the evening and I wíll report back on how it went.

So far, everything seems to work. WiFi, Data, Sms (idk Mms) and GPS (after mfastbooting these commands)
Code:
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2

Yeah... 15 mins. is a bit to long, but you should see around 2 - 5 mins on first boot.
Agreeable. 15 minutes are a tad too long.... ART typically take a good while recompiling the apps on the first boot but I am surprised that it took so long.
Anyways, know of any good Kit Kat ROM that doesn't have overheating problems? I might flash the bootloader and jump to Lollipop at some point.
'Kay, so I've downloaded the files again, installed it and the system came up right away (~3 minutes) so I have no idea what I did wrong in the morning. Nevermind that the system is working perfectly, smooth, fast and fully working. I actually didn't though that first build will be daily driver quality, the only thing I noticed is bit buggy animation when closing apps but that is minor thing. I will test battery life tomorrow.
Only problems I've seen so far is the video on YouTube doesn't work and the compass icon won't go away at least for me but it looks like it could a dd.
I just installed lp, first impressions are good everything seem to work and is mostly smooth and snappy.
