Mod section. - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Can we have just a mod section? I know most of you will probably say just use search. I got it, I'm a bigger supporter of dumb question being searched before being asked, but I think it would be less clutter in the themes and app section and keep development to ROMS, kernels, and modems. Magee things a little simpler when looking for mods. Plus when I use search using my xda app it search all topics. Just a thought.

This is not the place to ask this.
You would be better off asking in the "about XDAdevelopers" forum and look for the thread titled "requests from users to admin and mods" (or something like that)
Since that is the correct place...you may even get a response from said mods or admins....who knows...they may even implement your request...

I appreciate, I guess I should have been more thorough. I just figured I could ask it in q&a.

CAN WE MAKE A STICKY? a sgs2 bible

always found it extremely useful in the 4g forums when i had that phone. it always was my first place to look for guidance to the right thread before asking any questions or trying to search through pages of threads.
I would be more than willing to do this myself
Its already a sticky in the general section

That's sounds good, but this is the dev thread. Only threads pertaining to ROMS &kernels belong here. The only thing you are going to get by posting here is a private message from a mod or flamed. This served better to be in general or Q&A.

I'm sure if you or someone else were to post a concise "bible" it would almost be an automatic sticky, IMO of course.

oops sry i figured since it pertained to just making one for the development section this would be the place to ask
Well, one thing to consider would be to post this type of question in the appropriate section.

There is a 'ROM Bible', it's called the Development forum. Read it, study it, don't post in it unless you are contributing to Development.

Forum clean up?

Seems like the general section is filled with too many questions which should be in the Q & A and topics about accessories which also has its own section. Most the other sections on XDA I have been a part of had been stricter on this and moved a lot of threads to the appropriate sections which helped clean up the clutter.
The forum clean up helps users who want to avoid these topics and also users who want to do a search within the appropriate area. Its better for everyone.

If you want to avoid certain discussions...then don't click on them just to complain as you have. While you may feel this forum is cluttered some as opposed to the developer forums...others like myself don't. This isn't a place where people have to be a hard ass...it's the general section...not the developers section...and calling out the mods to move or merge topics just because you don't happen to like them is what gives this forum a bad reputation...

Hows it give the forum a bad reputation? Things like this drive others away and make it harder to navigate and do searches. I dont click on stuff I dont want to read. Every other XDA forum I have been a part of has been really good on putting things in the right sections or mods helped clean them up by moving them to the appropiate section. Why should this phones forum be so different? If your arguement was valid there wouldnt be sub sections for these topics.
Use the report option. If a thread is in the wrong section or a duplicate thread report that a mod close it or move it.

4 Window multiwindow?

Just saying it would be awesome to see someone take advantage of this huge screen and making it more efficient in going back and forth opening new apps and such in multiwindow or maybe even a hole new UI could help make this possible so that it's easier to manage and switch thru the open windows?
Am I the only one who thinks so or have I gone bananas?

Regardless of the sanity of your request, this is not the place for it... and as such be prepared to have this moved/removed by a mod, of course not till several other people come in here to berate you.
In the future use the General or Q&A section for non-actual-development related threads.
Please move this thread!

Sorry. My bad.

Different Rom sections

What is the big difference between the roms contained in these 2 sections? Sorry for being a noob i just dont understand why there are 2 sections. Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android Development and the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Original Android Development
The roms in the original development section are built from source.
More aosp (less touchwiz).

I agree. You can usually find your answer a lot quicker on Google than posting a duplicate thread and hoping someone replies. You also avoid people like abcdefg pointing out the obvious.

Or you could just not complain, stop worrying about board clutter, and give an answer to someone who feels the necessity to ask questions that have been asked so many times it makes people want to gouge their eyeballs out with a soldering iron every time they see them. /sarcasm

People get so butt hurt when you call them out for not even trying to search... Apparently, those of us who would like to have fewer garbage topics asking the same thing are the moderators pets or something.. Eflip88 might remember that from a few days ago
No, the reason people get annoyed about a thousand different threads on the same topic couldn't be because it just makes it that much harder for people who actually WANT to do the legwork and use the search bar.. That couldn't be it...

[Q] {Q}Can someone make A list of Wi-Fi calling enabled roms.

Probally will get royally flamed for bthis or have it removed, But for those like me that have to have wifi calling on our phones, is it possible for someone to make a thread with a list of ROMs with this feature. i would, but since I'm relatively new to this scene, and don'tknow any of thedevs, i wouldn't be able to get there permissions. I would make it myself if they would allow.
You can post info like this about roms, just don't post links except ones that are to the rom thread.
Unless you want something old, all roms that are built using the latest T-Mobile build, UVDMD5, will most likely have wifi calling. Just look for that build in the op and if you don't see it, move along to the next. If you want to cross reference an older rom to see if its a T-Mobile base, just compare to the build number in my firmware thread.

So I can configure a list as long as I only list links to threads. I thought even that it was considered wrong to do without consulting the dev. Just dont want to step on toes. And if was to compile the list myself, would I put it in development section or general information section.
Sent from somewhere bizarre and no I don't want to talk about it.

Yup. Perfectly fine to do that. You just dont want to post links to their actual roms w/o permission. Some devs like to keep an eye on download counts and stuff like that. This way they know where everyone gets the download link from. Honestly though, most probably wouldnt even care about that, but still its best to ask for anything else.
Id say this would go in the General Section.
If it is just going to contain info about the ROMs, you should post it in General. If you end up including anything like a FAQ or Q&A, then it could go in the Q&A section.
Never start a thread in the development sections unless you have something to release such as a rom or mod. (or at least the plan to release and are actively developing a WIP (Work In Progress)).
Never post questions or general info guides and such there. If deemed it needs to go there in the future, it can always be moved.
