Size dimensions - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am looking to see if anyone can locate the size dimensions for the body of the device. I have found d the dimensions for the screen, but I am looking to make a mock device out of cardboard to see how big it is in my hand. I tried a Google search, but like I said all that came up was the screen dimensions.

Never mind, I found it here

FYI, the Note is pretty close to the thickness of two layers of cardboard, so it's quite easy to make/test pocketability of a mockup.
It's a very very good idea - I did it for the first note.

Actually, that's exactly what I did. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. It fits inside a cell phone pocket (on shorts) perfectly! And dies not look noticeable in my shorts, so huge plus!

I've been looking for this bumper (or something like it) for weeks... we may have to get a group together and contact the manufacturer to get them to produce it for us Touch users.

There is one manufactured by a company or called a BLADE, and it is much less flimsy looking that this, it is one large piece basically a frame and a small attachment to lock it in the frame. Seemed much more durable, this thing appears less durable than good old tpu...

diff colors?
Its a sharp case, but two questions... available in different colors and what about camera lens protection???

Blue Incipio double cover from Verizon (pictures)

Just received it today from Verizon online. The color is real close to the pebble blue color. It just has a eggshell finish. It does not come with a screen protector however they did include a phone stand. Buttons work great!

Love the color I have the white one. Did you have to order it from Verizon haven't seen it before

Yes, they didn't have that color in the store.

I got mine my a verizon store. they mustve been out
Thanks for the pics. Is this case one or two pieces? Also, do you think it's a case that could easily be removed and put back on several times a day with ease and not lose it's grip or form? I'm asking because I'm very interested in this case but I'm also getting a car dock and whether I get a universal dock or custom dock depends on if the case I'm using can be easily removed. Also, how do you think it would protect against drops versus slightly bulkier cases like the Otterbox Commuter or Seidio Active cases? Thanks very much.
It's two pieces much like a seidio active case. It is real easy to install and remove.
Here is a video review of a different color one from sprint. The Verizon one has a stand instead of the screen protector.

I have the white version of the case and I'm not impressed. It feels a little too big and bulky. I put it on my SG3 for about 15 minutes before I decided it wasn't for me. I put it back in the packaging and it's like new. If anybody wants it I'll take $15 shipped anywhere in the US.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
To me the thickness is about right. Its still less bulk than the commuter. I like a little protection for this huge expensive screen.

I have this same case only in a different color blue which I actually like better. It is a brighter blue and I believe it is a T-Mobile exclusive. I think the case is nice and offers good protection for the size. It doesn't add much thickness at all but I do have one complaint which is why I'm returning it. The cell signal and Wifi signal are effected by the case. I've done numerous tests and on average, you lose two bars of WiFi and roughly 2-3mb/s download speeds on 4G. To me, the protection is not worth the signal trade off.
Strange, I haven't experienced any signal loss.

If you are on WiFi, take the case off and move to a location where you are only getting two bars. Then apply the case and watch the bars drop off. I've already done the testing with my phone, my wife's phone and a co-workers phone.

Pretty much all cases affect signal quality a bit. No reason to freak out about it. The added protection tradeoff is worth it.
edit: and just for ref here's the antenna locations from the sgs3 fcc filing:
Mine holds steady, maybe your t-mobile case is made from different material.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I dropped from .87dBm to .81dBm.
Wireless held steady.
Wait my wireless signal gained. Lower is better
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
This is the one I got from T-Mobile. Maybe it is a different case than the one you have and don't get any signal loss with. It is called the Silicrylic Dual Protection. I highly doubt Incipio changed the material for T-Mobile and only T-Mobile. Maybe it's the color....
IIRC tge shiny versions have some metal in them and hurt reception. The traditional silicrylics (like the VZW and others)are only silicone and poly carbonate. I have no issues on multiple phones with their traditional versions.

I got mine in the store. I wanted black but they said they only had the biue. They had it in the back not on the shelf.
Sent from my Free'd sweet a$$ S3.
I have the white and grey one. I noticed that today the volume buttons have ripped away a bit. I will be returning it to the Verizon store for an exchange. It's only 3 days old. I like the case, but the silicone part is cut back a bit around the buttons, and makes it weak which caused mine to rip. Im hoping it's a fluke because it's a nice case with a good feel.

Ive been looking for xoom cases with handstrap and the genius case seems to fit the bill...has anyone tried it? Hows the strap for viewing the xoom vertically? My main issue is that I want to read ccomic books in bed and a strap for vertical holding would be great

Its pretty great so far.....the Velcro strap is such ****ty quality though! Its definitely going to wear out at some point....other than that it's sexy and versatile.....undoing the strap everytime is annoying and getting to the power button quick are my main complaints

Raspberry Pi Cases

Hey guys, so I've really really been contemplating picking up a Raspberry Pi but I'm just a little hesitant because I have heard rumors of Rev C being in the works right now. If you want a list of over 40 awesome cases for the RPi, I would take a look at http://elinux.org/RPi_Cases. It has everything from DIY Lego cases to cases made of wood and pretty much everything in between.

Thanks shrimp!
I got myself a Pibow, like the other poster I used cable ties through the holes to secure it. Before I bought the case I bought some rubber feet from ebay, but the threaded pins act as feet so they weren't needed. The build instructions ape the Ikea single sheet instructions, a nice cultural touch.
I finally got a pibow as well, I had a temp case cause I could never find the pibow I wanted in stock. Adafruit.com has them in the original and the new 4 colors. I got the ninja model. Also if you live in the US, youll have it in 2days. Its a great site for everything pi, arduino, electronics related you could want.

Well I don't have a case per se, but i ordered this from ebay:
It serves its purpose (hidden media extender, running raspbmc) quite well

Was wondering what that case was called! Awesome! :good:
You could always make one yourself. I made this one.
Used materials:
Birch Wood 1/4 inch thick
Dremel/Jigsaw (cutting)
Wood varnish (i used one that had the polyurethane already in the paint
Wood filler
Sand paper (derp)
Crazy glue (it works well on wood apparently)
Wood burn kit (first time i ever tried my hand at it)
Bring on the BlackMage! Haduken!
Thanks for the link shrimp! A lot of cool cases.

My commuter case doesn't affect anything. I think you're ok as long as you don't use some kind of metal case. Sorry for my first smartass post. I had to give you a little grief
Thank you.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Nobody I know has ever had any issues with any otter box case. And as metalfan78 said, as long as it's not a metal case you should be good. I bought a rear cover replacement off ebay that was plastic with a thin aluminum-ish material on it and it just annihilated my reception. The upside though, it kept my hand nice and cool whenever I held it.
