I'm looking for a simple rubber or silicone bumper case to go around my SGS2 with the extended battery.
From what I've read the two pricey options are the SGP Neo Hybrid Ex (which "stretches" after a while) and the Walnutt (which costs an arm and a leg to ship from Korea).
Does anybody know of any others? Something cheap and cheerful would do fine - it's for grip as much as anything.
(This a wonderful forum by the way - I've found many answers here to questions that had been bugging the heck out of me!)

Thanks very much for the reply. Yes, I'm aware of that thread but I think it focuses on full cases including back protection as opposed to purely a bumper around the edges (i.e. similar to the iphone bumper). Apologies if I did not make that clear in the original post.
I find a bumper case to be the most convenient for me by far as I really only want it for extra grip when picking up the phone or pulling it out of a pocket.
In order to be a good XDA citizen I'll post the question in that thread instead.
there are metal bumper like sweet armor or akiba or something which might affect signal and gps, expensive as well
serch "9100 metal bumper" on ebay
if it has to be rubber plastic bumper neo hybrid ex or walnutt or no name walnutt fakes or sgp linear without installing the back cover fit well

been using walnutt bumper for quite some time.. volume and power buttons are easier to press with the bumper on.. excellent bumper case i must say.. though had to import one from korea via GMarket..

Yeah... feck it, I just ordered a Walnutt. Yes, it's expensive but everything I read about it is uniformly excellent. I could spend days looking for another one so well done Mr. Walnutt you've just made a sale to Ireland
Seems like the only color available on amazon and on the sgp page is the purple/yellow color. I'd like the find the white/gray or blue/gray for around the same price as the purple/yellow (~$15).
Right now all I can find is $23 on ebay. Are there any other options?

I was looking for the same case but had no luck in finding it in anything other than the purple/yellow combo which isn't my cup of tea. E-Bay is the only place that I've seen them but I usually don't do a lot of business on eBay either. Instead of the SGP, I decided to go with the Rinke Slim case from Rearth - Its hands down the BEST case I've ever used on a phone. Its slim & adds grip to the touch, but manages to add just enough protection against your everyday hazards.. Its worth checking out if you haven't. I recommend the Matte Black.
Thanks for the suggestion but I already broke down and bought the ultra hybrid on amazon. If i end up not liking it maybe i'll try the Ringke Slim.

I've had my S3 for over a month now and have been using it bare since day 1. I just can't find a thin and good looking case anywhere. So I'm here to ask you guys what cases are out there that you might suggest?
I'm looking for something, think/sleek, masculine colours , "lay on the table", under $25. Please no bulky cases like OtterBox or anything in that fashion. Those look nasty. LOL
Also looking for a good screen protector. I don't want to purchase the cheap ones at the mall for $1 a piece.

Get the SGP curved crystal if you want to cover the entire screen. I have it applied right now and I can't even tell it's there.

Get the SGP curved crystal like the above says along with the SGP Modello case in black or gray. You may still be able to find them on ebay. It is a very slim tpu case. Good luck!

Anyone know why they like to discontinue their products after a few months on the market? I love the look of the Neo Hybrid, but the only way I can get them now is on Craigslist or eBay.
Take a look at dba cases and their JustLikeGlass screen protector, both are very nice.

The OP said no bulky cases, the UAG isn't exactly slim. The DBA slimgrip is a good, really thin case, and the complete ultra is a really thin full coverage case.
I know you said no otterbox cases but the commuter might be good in your case with a screen protector.. I have the defender series it comes with one and the Grey and white case goes flush with my white s3

I have several cases and just received the Ringke Slim Lite case. It has to be the slimmest case in my collection but also the one offering the least protection. For $10 on Amazon you really can't go wrong with the case it feels really soft and I really like that my phone still keeps the skim profile it has.

Yup. I have it also. Only use it when relaxing browsing with the phone lol. Feels so good. The seidio surface has a similar coating, soft grip.

Ultra cases from DBA was the best solution for me because it's consisted of 2 parts so you can also mix the colors the way that suits you most.
I've been using the white TPU matched with a blue slate PC on a pebble blue S3.
i am really looking forward to buy a nice case for my nexus 5 (also cheap)

I personally use spigen and metal/aliminium bumper. Both are top quality cases. But since i got dbrand skin i cant use bumper. Rest is okay. So i will suggest you spigen and bumper. But didnt use any battery case. (also they re so big and ugly in my opinion)
The only good one I see is the spigen. There are tons out there, keep looking.
That also isn't a genuine Spigen case. It looks like one of the cheap Chinese clones.

Looks good,and you can customize the back with a picture of your choice,there are templates on xda....or just apply some carbon skin on it and still looks good !
try metal/aliminium bumper it will defend the device much great then plastic.

Hey guys so I was searching on ebay and I can find some "bumpers" in aluminum and such or just silicone case in general. I don't know if the bumper won't add too much to the phone itself. I just want to get rid of the feeling of this horrible original case. It's not for me is there any aluminum cover I can just replace for this one? The ebay ones I'm not sure how they'll work out. Also found a bamboo one but not sure how it will feel tbh. Any recommendations for a new case? Thanks.
