Kindle Fire Stuck Logo - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, please forgive me as I know there are a ton of threads with a similar title but I'm completely new at this and I'm frankly at a loss.
My Kindle Fire is stuck on the Kindle Fire logo screen after trying to unroot it. I know I messed up by trying to wipe everything off of it and rebooting it. I'm hoping someone can walk me through a step by step guide on how to unbrick it (I am completely dumb with this and probably shouldn't have attempted to unroot it in the first place).
I recieve the following error when trying to do anything in the KFU or the Unbrick Utility:
exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2)
Unable to access the internal portion of the Kindle Fire, when I try to "Browse Files" it's grayed out with no option of looking into it. When looking at the device itself, it's on the dimmed light Kindle Fire logo with the power button showing green.

well unfortunately you will need twrp and fff back on your device to do it... if you cannot get it into fastboot very likely you will need a factory cable to do so found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693 after you get twrp and fff back on simply wipe everything except your sdcard or external storage and flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916 then you will be all refreshed and can decide where to go from there...
Edit:looks like at this point he has 5 cables maybe less left best jump on that as soon as you can... in the meantime keep it on the stock wall charger as not to compound the situation with a depleted battery...

Thank you for the response.
How does the cable work though? Does it work just by plugging it into the device? By using it and the Kindle Fire Utility I would be able to install the TWRP at that point? Also how do I flash a rom onto it when it is in TWRP? Kinda confused what flash means sadly..

Dont feel bad.. this is what I had to do to get the cable to work for me when I tested it: shift + right click on the tools folder in kindle fire utility.. select open command window here...hold down the power button on the kindle for 30 seconds to power it off , dont plug it in yet type
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product
in the terminal hit enter.... then plug the kindle in ... it will then power on in fastboot and return product:kindle in the terminal... this is if all your drivers are installed correctly if this is the very first time you have tried anything with your kindle I suggest you get at least a 2 gig usb flash drive and go this route....

to better answer this question the cable forces the devices into fastboot so that things like bootloaders and recoveries can be easily replaced when there doesnt appear to be another way to do it. As far as flashing goes it pertains to flashing a rom flashing a recovery ect. In most instances it just means replace without a better term for it...

Accidentally wiped system partition

Your guide sounds very good, to me. Hope it helps someone. I'm not sure it will help me.
I have searched here and google, in general for my specific issue. It may be available but, after 4 hours, I haven't found it.
While attempting to use TWRP to change from Cyanogenmod 9 to 6.3.1 from a TWRP backup, I was running Wipe and fat-fingered System Wipe. By the time I noticed it, to late. Now the KF will show the Kindle Fire boot logo, flash it a couple of times and hang.
WinXP will give the welcome "Beep" when I plug the KF in. KFU shows the device is off line and WinXP does not show it: please insert disk in drive F: is the dialog.
drive F: shows up when I plug the usb cable into the Win system so the usb is at least recognized.
The KF will power on when the usb is connected to my Win system.
I have used KFU to try to get to fastboot. No joy.
adb shell does not work, since adb does not see the KF
I have reinstalled the drivers for adb, twice.
adb get-state does not see the KF. KFU does not see it, either.
I have followed several of the suggestions from XDA forum and nothing has helped.
Am I stuck with a brick?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Note: I asked the mods to move this post into the Q&A section.
Your device can be fixed. It's not permanently bricked.
The problem is that you currently have no easy way of getting the device into fastboot mode. The stock bootloader does not enable temporary fastboot mode and with a broken system, you will not be able to set the bootmode to tell the bootloader to enable fastboot mode.
Your next best way of fixing this is to get a factory cable. The factory cable will tell the bootloader to enable fastboot mode. Then you can flash a new recovery and use it to flash a new system.
The last way to get into fastboot mode is to build a Linux system, open up the case, and use Firekit to send a new bootloader over USB and use it to enable fastboot mode.
Most people would probably opt to buy a factory cable than open up the case and tinker with the motherboard, but the choice is up to you.
EDIT: Unless you changed the setting there's a good chance that TWRP is still there since TWRP doesn't backup/restore the recovery partition by default. When you get the device into fastboot, all you'd have to do is set the bootmode to 5001, reboot into TWRP and restore your backup. Either way, I'd recommend installing a custom bootloader so it's easier for you to get into fastboot mode the next time around. Take a look at FFF...

Appreciation
Many thanks! I have started on the cable modification. Now to see if my soldering skills are still there.
The KF is a great device that can do much more than Amazon has set it up to do. I was very happy with CM9 but it was a battery hog since the display was persistent at 100%. Any idea if there is a better ROM available until CM9 is complete?
I will post when I get my KF back up.
Thanks, again.

Good luck, sounds like you have been given good advice already...
To answer your question about ROM's, I am running the latest gedeROM 1.35 on mine and the brightness issue is fixed and battery life isnt bad once you turn down the brightness. Rarely do I need mine brighter than 50% and that is using it some in my car during the day.

[Q] I really screwed up......

Hey everyone,
I had recently rooted my kindle fire but found that for some reason TWRP seemed to have corrupted the video and music apps from the kindle os. I decided that there really was no good reason to root for me personally as most of the software could be accessed with the lousy os from amazon.
i made a poor mistake however when I went to the kindle os and chose to reset to factory settings. Now, what happens when I attempt to boot is I'm presented with the kindle fire (fire in blue) and then allowed to either
1. boot normal
2.recovery
3. boot to reset
So esentially I cannot access the normal OS from amazon nor the ice cream leaving me with a nice piece of fully-functional hardware that cannot turn on.
I thought I might be able to fix all this by uninstalling TWRP but now when I plug the system into my computer, but i don't know what to do after mounting it so that it can be recognized.
I really need help!! please guys I beg of you to send me some instructions i can work through....
sorry to take up ur time.
I hate it when I can't access the ice cream use Soupkit dunno there must be a trillion threads with me saying the same thing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 or get a factory cable.

actually, i can mount the device. I'm not sure i understood how soupkit will solve the problem.
just to confirm with you,
I have twrp but that is all I can access. how can i get back to normal usage of an OS?
Soupkit will fix mounting problems with your sdcard unless you can mount it otherwise by connecting to computer and select mount checks in boxes of sdcard and cache only then hit the big mount button , transfer a ROM flash it or restore a backup.

hey thanks so much for all the help
I did exactly what you said. I actually downloaded MIU and the kindle fire update software
I first tried installing mui speciically for KF but it didn't work. many error messages kept popping up. So i tried installing the amazon OS, first changing the name to update.zip file. i then flashed it, and now when i boot i get the typical kindle OS.
however, the os continues to restart time and again every few seconds and i dont see a settings bar at the top of the screen
any thoughts on how to diagnose the problem? am i missing some sort of important software?

Wow I hate to say it "but out of the pan into the fire". No settings is a huge problem you still need fff and twrp to flash a rom preferably after a full wipe, if you could access setting it`s as simple as factory resetting it. The problem is you didnt wipe correctly when you flashed stock

It's pretty hard to make a kindle beyond repair although I have seen people do it. Have you tried using soupkit? You need fff and twrp, fff is the bootloader with the white kindle blue fire splash that you use to access recovery. Soupkit may let you resend the recovery and bootloader to the device so that you can do a full wipe minus the sdcard/external storage and flash a new ROM.

any links tellign me preceisely how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated
You install Soupkit onto a live usb that is running ubuntu with persistent. The persistent allows the live usb to save data between reboots. What you need: Preferably Ubuntu 12.04 precise pangolin found here http://releases.ubuntu.com/precise/ use desktop cd image PC (intel X86) Desktop CD, Pendrive Universal USB installer found here http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ , a USB flash drive between 4-6 gigs.
Select 12.04 desktop from the dropdown in Universal Usb installer, select your usb by drive letter , select format, drag bar for persistent to 1500 mgs or so, then click create, when finished eject cruiser safely, unplug usb flash drive, shutdown computer, insert usb flash drive, power on computer, it will auto boot at startup on Windows 7 but XP takes more work for instance on my XP machine at first boot splash hit escape for advance startup options, then F9 for boot menu, then scandisk cruiser or whatever your USB is by name, it will then boot ubuntu without installing on your Windows machine.
when booted into Ubuntu: setup your network connection, download Soupkit move it from its containing folder to the desktop, right click select extract here, open folder, double click on the file marked installer, select run in terminal, select option 1 in terminal menu, hit enter for sudo password prompt as there isn`t one, when its finished working it will return you to the main menu, select option 2 it will detect a 32 bit operating system and skip the work for 64 bit then it will launch Soupkit, close all open windows, click the gear icon upper right, select restart, If on windows 7 it will simply restart the Ubuntu system, if on Xp hit Esc. at first computer splash, then select again the cruiser reboot is not near a clean an action on XP sadly.
When booted back back to Ubuntu open a terminal Ctrl+alt+t type soupkit.sh in the terminal now you can use all the features of Soupkit if everything went right and communication has been established with the Kindle.

Thanks so much again.
Quick question ( i hope). I've been trying to use soupkit according to
the elaborate details listed above. One issue I have been
encountering making the entire process difficult is that my kindle
fire continues to reboot on its own every 30 seconds or so, making it
impossible to install certain programs. I (apparently) ave twrp and
fff installed according to soupkit but I find that I am unable to put
update.zip into the /sd because the KF restarts. Any suggestions how
to make it more stable and stop restarting randomly?
I think you need to charge your battery. Kindles can behave like this when they need charging.

I would not attempt to run update.zip this is a very bad idea when your device keeps rebooting and a possible flat battery. Put it in recovery and plug it to the wall charger till you battery is 100%.

I've charged the KF but no success. For some reason, now I cannot even get past the bootup screen where the classic white and orange 'kindle fire' logo glows. I don't know what to do. The problem I'm running into is that soupkit can't recognize a kindle plugged into the computer. As a result, I can't update, install or fix anything. Any suggestions on how to make soupkit work with this frozen system?
Hey guys. So I have the same problem like this guy. My situation is, It is rooted, has no OS, and it can communicate with my computer. I have tired to re-root it but nothing. The thing is that when i turn it on, TWRP works but, when it is rebooting it does not continue from that screen. It freezes with the Kindle Fire logo with Fire blue and booting in the bottom. Is there anything I can do or is there something i miss in the other posts?

In SoupKit, if you still have the stock bootloader installed, just choose an option and follow the instructions...even if it still says "offline".

Wipe system and factory reset then reinstall your ROM.
"That's a special kind of stupid. The kind that makes me laugh."

[Q] Wondering if the device is unfixable (That is it) (Provided specifics)

I just bought a used Kindle Fire (Model D01400). The guy had android on it but reinstalled the original software before selling it to me apparently. The original software worked when he gave it to me perfectly but i decided to restore the device to factory settings. When I did that it brought up the blue kindle fire startup screen with v 1.4 in the top corner and then loaded TWRP. There was an Install, backup, restore, wipe, mount, settings, advanced and reboot option. It says Team win recovery project (TWRP) V 2.2.2.1 at the top. I proceeded to choose the wipe option and wiped the cache, dalvid cache, factory reset, system and external storage. Then i rebooted it and it gave me that blue kindle fire screen and then nothing. If i press the power button I get one of three boot options. 2 of them bring me to the regular white and orange kindle fire screen that just sits there and does nothing. The other one brings me back to the TWRP screen.
The other pertinent piece of information is that when i try to connect it to the computer, I cannot access the device drive and see the contents. (I watched a video on how to fix the device to get it back to the original device software but I need to access the contents of the device) I followed the instructions provided in one of the beginners threads and installed the google sdk that allowed me to see the kindle on my device manager as an android phone but that it is. I cant do anything with the device in My Computer. It does not even show up in there as kindle.
I have been all over this website and read the beginners guide and short of installing linux to try soupkit and trying all the other fixes:
I just want to ask: Is this device bricked forever and unfixable or if I follow the guides that are on this forum can I get it to work like it did when it first came out of the box. (Just asking yes or no if this is fixable)
I just want to get this Kindle back to its normal state with its normal software. I just want to read books on this thing. Not use android.
Bonus Question: Knowing that I just want to get this back to how it works out of the box, is there a faster process than sifting through the beginner threads? (Just Yes or No) (If there is I will search harder to find it)
I am not asking for someone to hold my hand and do this for me. Just making an enquiry because there is tons of stuff to learn and do to try and fix this and I wonder if I am wasting my time.
(More specifics: I am using 64 bit version of windows vista, and have ubuntu installed as well, I have USB 2.0 ports, I have a factory Kindle USB cable from my older Kindle 3G)
I hope I covered everything.
And yes I realize now that I should have never done that factory reset when i first got it. It was working exactly how I wanted it to when i first got it. I am apparently not a smart man.
The smartest thing you can do is install the MoDaCo ROM. Use adb to push it to your sdcard and install it in recovery.

Alright I have been learning about this and trying for hours and hours now. I have device manager reading the kindle fire as an android phone ADB interface but when i try to use KFU it does not show the kindle as being connected and when i even try to do anything, like installing TWRP again or something it does not read the device and says waiting for device. I have done everything in the beginners guide.
I think i am having so many issues because I inherited this device in the middle of its functionality and i never had to do the previous steps. I curse the guy who rooted this damnable device in the first place..
Alright i have made some progress and I got my hopes up way too much because i may not ever get a response to this but I am hoping. I followed thesee instructions because I already have all the prerequisites for this process done:
"Reverting to stock software
Required software:
Amazon Kindle Fire Software Update
Warning: Installing the Amazon Kindle Fire Software Update will not only replace the system software, but also overwrite the bootloader and recovery with the stock versions. Any custom bootloader and recovery like FFF and TWRP will be overwritten in the process.
This section assumes the device is already booted into TWRP recovery.
1) Copy the update bin file to the /sdcard as update.zip
Code:
adb push C:\kfu\software\update-kindle-6.3.1_D01E_4107720.bin /sdcard/update.zip"
I found this on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1638452
have the kfu and the software folder and the update put in that folder. I get the device into fastboot but when i type in
adb push C:\kfu\software\update-kindle-6.3.1_D01E_4107720.bin /sdcard/update.zip
It returns back "error: device not found"
And that is when I cried for an hour. I have everything installed. TWRP i can now reasonably navigate everything. I have ADP thing in my device thing. Why wont this work!
adb push C:\kfu\software\update-kindle-6.3.1_D01E_4107720.bin /sdcard/update.zip <------ that there is about the worst thing you could do go ahead wipe out your recovery your bootloader and brick your device. I think Soupmagnet recommended modaco that`s about the best place to start. The reason you cant push it might be drivers read up a little it won`t hurt ya. At any rate flashing stock is a mistake here is a nice big list of goodies to flash on that thing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859851 . If your running Ubuntu? run this script on it and reboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 great little feature there that will help you adb push anything you want to that kindle not to mention return to stock safely which really isn`t needed if you flash modaco.

In TWRP, you can use the Mount function to mount your sdcard as a USB device and transfer your ROM that way. I would highly suggest you install MoDaCo and try it out before you try to revert your device back to stock. In the meantime, you can educate yourself a little more about the device and how it works before you get yourself into trouble by not reverting properly.
I should have reported that I tried to put modaco on the device with the same process as thhis -> adb push C:\kfu\software\update-kindle-6.3.1_D01E_4107720.bin /sdcard/update.zip
And it still gave me an error saying it could not find the device. And i have been reading threads and trying stuff for hours now. The only problem is that because my device already has all this stuff set up the guides and threads all presuppose that the person knows what they are doing. If i would have just had a stock kindle and done all the steps to get to this point I would have already had all the practice and hands on training. I am going to try to get modaco onto my SD card trying every possible avenue before I post again. Again, my device manager is reading the kindle as Android phone -> Android ADP Interface and it does not show up in My computer as anything. That is what one of the tutorials said it had to do.
I really hope this is correct and I am not trying in vain.

Don't worry about using ADB at the moment. Boot into TWRP using the FireFireFire1.4a boot menu you described before, and select "Mount". Make sure there is an [X] on the last option and press the button at the top that says "Mount USB storage". Then check under "My Computer" in Windows to see if the sdcard was mounted. Then transfer your ROM as you would with a USB flash drive.

Short answer: Nothing appeared in My Computer
---------------------------
Long Answer: I tried every combination of processes that I found through the various troubleshooting methods.
I have 2 chords: A white Kindle chord I used for my old Kindle 3G and a blackberry USB chord that fits the same. I also tried every function with every chord with both Windows and Ubuntu just in case because I saw that in other threads where people were having issues that they were just not doing the proper process based upon the circumstances. I also tried all of these functions while the plugged in Kindle was reading as:
Other devices -> Kindle (Big K)
&
Android Composite ADB Interface
In my device manager. In all the cases I tried the best case scenario was a "removable disk" appeared in My Computer but it read "please insert a disk into Removable Drive" if i tried clicking on it. I also tried all of these functions with each of my 4 USB ports (all 2.0 ports) (which all work for any other device)
So I tried every port with every chord I have using every combination of processes I found in other threads to do what you advised and it did not show up. It took a while but I wanted to be concise because other people do not give enough background or try everything before coming back to the forum.
(Just for reference I tried the process outlined in "How can I verify the drivers are loading?" section in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23747671&postcount=2 among other threads for troubleshooting advice and guides.

I will learn more about this ADB pushing process thing using CMD because the only glimmer of hope I have had in the past 2 days has been getting my computer to read the device when I used KFU. It worked one time and it was magical. Unless there is anything else I can try or if someone can confirm that this thing is completely broken beyond repair.
It's not broken it's just a little unhappy with you right now you may have a combination of things going on. Your drivers my be mistreating you and either you have an sdcard mounting issue or the drivers are affecting it. How ever it is I would be happy to help you sort through it. The only thing I ask is that you complete your thread afterward with a detailed description of what it took to fix it for the benefit of others in your situation. So pm me when your online and if I can I will assist you through it.
Just to let you know it may have been simulating mount in recovery as well funny thing those setting are useless when you want to get something done

There was a fairly simple solution that should be universal for most issues if you require pushing a file to your device.
Here is some background stuff that you should have before attempting to fix the problem I had and starting from scratch.
You will want this installed: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
And the Kindle Fire Utility: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
And in my case the Modaco ROM: http://www.modaco.com/topic/350682-14-jun-gr9-631-modaco-custom-rom-for-the-kindle-fire/
Unzip the Kindle Fire Utility into c:\kfu
Install the Android program
Create a folder titled Software in your c:\kfu and put the ZIP file that you downloaded from Modaco in the software folder
Make sure to go through the "How can I verify the drivers are loading?" section in http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...71&postcount=2
Plug your USB chord into the kindle first (while it is off) and then plug the chord into the USB port
It will bring up TWRP
Go into the options and make sure that you push Restore Defaults and ensure that any options with "simulate" in them are unchecked.
Open up cmd.exe and type in "cd c:\kfu\tools"
Go to the mount option in TWRP and mount the USB
type in ADB push and then drag the modaco file from the software folder onto the cmd window and it will show you and then type in \sdcard\
ADB push (the modaco file) \SDCARD\
It should take a few moments to transfer and it will say that it is done
Unmount and then unplug from the computer. Go to wipe and wipe everything other than external memory, then go to install and find the file you pushed onto the kindle in the file folders. Push on the file and it will ask you if you want to flash it, select yes.
After that is complete select reboot and it should automatically reboot and then go to the proper startup screen.
Special credit to Thepooch for providing all this information to me. I believe that should be everything.
Working in the directory that adb is in is important and this
Code:
adb push <exact file path> <exact file name> /sdcard/

KF Stuck at Logo - Sorry

I know this has been covered thoroughly in this forum multiple times, and I have really tried to read as many threads as possible before asking.
I rooted my device months ago and finally got a Nexus 7 and want to give my KF to my kids but wanted it stock first. I must have done something in TWRP that removed my bootloader.
I have tried the unbrick tool, I ordered a factory cable from Skorpn (awesome work btw) and by using KFU, my PC can finally see my Kindle.
The problem I'm having is that none of the commands are working and it looks like the bootloader is either bad or completely gone.
It used to turn on and the logo stayed bright. After I used the factory cable it now turns on, blinks, and goes dim.
All the drivers loaded correctly and KFU see's it online.
When I try to reinstall TWRP through KFU it downloads, but is stuck at waiting for device.

< waiting for device >
After reading further, I think I formatted too much and wiped the SD card partition. It doesn't seem like there is a bootloader at all.
Did I miss something in all the reading?
Thanks.
So after doing even further reading I found
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1638452
I connected the factory cable and the logo is now staying brightly lit, so I assume it's in FB Mode.
I downloaded TWRP based on the link and FFF, but now I don't know what to do with them.
I went to ADB's site and installed SDK, but I'm not sure how to get the cmd portion to sideload TWRP and then FFF.
I'm doing my best to following along in the instructions and went to the ADB site and installed SDK.
I saved it to my C drive but when I try to do the following, along with "adb devices,
c:\Android\android-sdk-windows>
I get:
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Update:
NVM, I had it in the wrong directory.
Once I got that figured out, I did an "adb devices" and no devices came back. Of course I have the factory cable connected and I'm not sure if that matters.
Update:
Ok, now I used a standard USB and it sees my device, but now the logo went back to going dim after reboot.
So it looks like my problem is fairly common, however forum searches don't seem to be helping.
It looks like I wiped too much in TWRP.
Now that I finally figured out ADB, I'm confused about the factory cable.
When it's connected ADB does not see my device but the logo is lit bright yellow. When I use a standard cable ADB sees the device but the turns on and goes dim but the logo is still there.
I've downloaded the ZIP files for TWP and FFF, but I can't seem to figure out how to side load them no matter what I do.
I'm about to give up on this.
I decided to go the Soupkit rout and installed ubuntu 11.10 and got my PC to boot to USB.
I followed all the directions but my device is always offline. The only thing I can think of is that the 3rd step says to reboot, when I reboot Soupkit is gone and I have to download it again. When I download it, I save it, drag it to the desktop and extract it there and then run in terminal, use option 1 and then option 2.
I realize forums contain a ton of duplicate posts but I really tried to research and follow all the guides before posting.
Does anyone have any advice?
Update:
Realized I forgot to add persistence to the LiveUSB drive. I'm going to try again.

No luck with adding persistence.
I get everything to to boot in Linux, followed all the instructions, but Soupkit still does not see my Kindle.
I've tried my factory cable and a regular cable. No luck
Some has changed though because now my Kindle logo light is solid bright whereas before it would blink and dim.
Good luck to you!
Well I've had a great dialogue with myself, but I fixed it by accident.
You guys do awesome work and I know its frustrating when people ask repeat questions. I thought I had truly given it my best shot before asking, but in the end it was an accident that seem to have fixed it, that and Skorpns factory cable LOL.
Right before I got ready to pitch it in the trash I figured I would try KFU one more time even though it wasn't seeing my Kindle. Device manager saw the ADB drivers in Android device though.
I plugged in the factory cable
Launched KFU
KFU said "offline"
Tried various options until I finally saw the install permanent root with superuser (option 2)
That did the trick
I then unplugged my factory cable from both the PC and KF and booted the KF into recovery
Plugged in a standard USB
I downloaded a ROM (Hashcodes and GAPPS) and side loaded them
That did it!
I'm not sure how or why since it said it was offline but it fixed it.
Can anyone shed light on why KFU said offline but it still took a root?
Also, regarding the factory cable, I read a ton of material on when to use it and why, but not really how. What I mean is when to plug in and when to revert to the standard cable. If I missed that, my apologies.

wow im def. gonna try this seeing how we have similar issues with my kindle fire being recognized with a reg usb and online in kfu but with a boot status of unknown and then not seeing it and status being offline when i plus in the factory cable. also with the regular cables it boots to the cm10 boot logo and then with the factory cable it stays at the kindlefire orange and white cable. only thing im confused on is where you say you
"I then unplugged my factory cable from both the PC and KF and booted the KF into recovery"
how did you reboot to recovery? or this was automatic after option 2? thanks and its awesome you were pretty much able to figure this out on your own. i feel i wont have the same luck

When I unplugged the factory cable from the PC and the KF, I could have done 1 of 2 things. Powercycle the KF and hold the power button down to get into TWRP or use a regular USB to side load a ROM and then load it.
Good luck to you, I hope you get it figured out.

If you're getting the Kindle Fire orange and white, you haven't installed the new bootloader. Rerun KFU with the Kindle in Fastboot (using Cable) and select install FireFireFire. This will give you the bootloader to reboot to recovery.
Edit: You might as well reinstall TWRP while you're at it, just to be safe.

cm10 logo stuck, boot status unknown, ect

ok first here is my problem
I have a Kindle fire that is stuck at the boot logo for cm10 from what ive found out due to not clearing the cache prior to rebooting
also with KFU running and the KF hooked up it reads adb status online and boot status unknown. when hooked up through the regular usb cable it goes through to the cm10 boot logo and is recognized by the computer and kfu
when hooked up trhough the factory cable its neither recognized by my computer or KFU and only stays at the kidlefire orange and white logo.
NOW how i got here
little sister got the KF and of course wanted more out of it. rooted and installed twrp and proceeded to flash roms through twrp SHE DIDNT INSTALL FFF. she said she got it stuck first on the AOSP? boot logo also what we later found out from not clearing the cache. then was able to get in through KFU to reboot back up to recovery and flash back to factory setting but still with twrp installed. well then went on to flash cm10 again without clearing the cache AFTER flashing the final gapps before rebooting and got it stuck yet again at the boot logo.
so with her being out of town i wanted to fix it for her so i got a factory cable and what not but wanted to try first through kfu so i hook it up and its recognized and what not well when i go to push 1 for bootmodes i accidently hit 4 i think and starting installing twrp AGAIN while it was STUCK at the cm10 boot logo. and that was the last thing that got me stuck to where the boot status isnt noticed
WHAT IVE TRIED. everything
kfu doesnt find the file for bootmodes now so i tried command prompts and thats saying device offline
so i got a factory cable and that makes it to where the computer AND kfu dont recognize it at all???
i also get with the regualr usb cable MTP USB device FAILED with the litt;le yellow caution triangle under Portable Devices but
shows it under Android Phone as Android Composite ADB interface???
but as stated with the factory cable it IMMEDIATELY says USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED
with regular power it boots and gets stuck at the cm10 logo screen
with factory cable it only goes and stops at the orange and white kindle fire logo
i hope ive provided everything i can and hope someone can help out. thanks guys and its been some great reading on this site

This means your bootloader is not the FireFireFire.

Reinstall Kindle Fire Drivers from the Kindle Fire Utility package. Unzip your download and run the install drivers batch file. Then try to plug the Kindle in again.

Best way to get things working here is to run Kindle fire utility, run the "intall FireFireFire" option, it will say waiting on device, with your kindle off, attach the Factory cable to the kindle and then plug it into the PC. Hopefully this will get the bootloader installed, and while you're at it, go ahead and reinstall TWRP, as it shouldn't cause an issue. After you get the bootloader and TWRP installed, you can wipe caches and see if that helps.

hey thanks mthous
Ya i told her if she would have installed the FFF that alot of this would be a whole bunch easier.
As for installing the drivers ive done that and it IS being noticed by the computer as i stated with the reg. usb cable, In KFU its read as ADB Status ONLINE but bootmode status UNKNOWN. so its being recognized just i think since the Kindle is stuck in whatever bootmode that its not being read.
ONLY WHEN i plug it in with the Factory cable is it completely invisible to the computer and unrecognized IMMEDIATLEY after attached to the KF.
But im going to try that last piece of advice but i had tried something similar with going to the KFU and choosing option 1 then choosing i believe option 2 for recovery mode then hit enter and it said "waiting for device" BUT as usual it didnt even read that the device was connected with the Factory Cable. IS there a special different kind of driver for the FACTORY cable that i dont know about? MAYBE its not made right???? i bought it from a reputable ebay dealer. and it DOES alter the state of the KF by keeping it at the KF logo instead of going on through to the CM10 boopt logo.
i dont know.
ANYONE reading this with some idea please chime in cause its gotten to the point where i just turn the KF on to see it light up and watch the cm10 boot animation thinking of the day that i will one day be able to use it :crying::crying:
so im just going to try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430038
seems my problem is the drivers and what not so hey why not right. SUCKS i had to search so many places to even know FULLY what pokey (the op) was talking about.
such as making a bootable usb. finding the diagram on how to short out the kindle and things of that but i fully feel confident that this will fix it. also ive included my links incase anyone else is having this problem and isnt as good at searching.

What was your outcome? I'm having the same exact issue, and I'm pulling my hair out!
i have one other option you might wanna try.
using fastboot cable, get to the kindle logo and plug it in to your computer.
delete your .android folder located at c:\users\%your user%\.android
open kfu and it should say offline
run the option to install FFF that might do it.
let me know what happens

now you cant get into recovery right?
I can't get anywhere, or flash anything. It just boots up, and goes to the off center CM logo.

Might be a stupid question to ask - but it seems like you already have firefirefire due to previous flashing and etc, have you tried pushing the power button repeatedly during the boot to change the bootmode?
This can be an easy way to get into recovery and do a complete wipe then reflash. I had an issue similar to this and it was because I forgot to do my wipes because I was focused on getting my device recognized by KFU.
sorry been lazy and i gotta search where all the links were now... but def going to do this today sometime.....oh ya links are in my post lol ok well i WILL get back to see if this "drastic way" works is it wierd that it doesnt seem that complicated to do it this way??? i feel like im missing something like it should be alot harder. idk ill find out and get back.
