Considering the current obsession with increasing screen sizes, this hits the nail on the head. The GS3 is already flirting with being too large. Anything bigger is really overkill. I have a tablet for my big screen needs.

Oh, I like GS3's size as well. However, I'm not interested in anything larger. I really hope that the rumor of the Galaxy S4 having a 5 inch display is not true. That would be crossing over into the Note/Note 2 territory, and there's a reason why I didn't get the Note. Of course, this is still pure speculation, and I really don't think that Samsung will release the next Galaxy S phone less than a year after its predecessor.

Size is personal choise. I only have an S3 as a get-by until the Note II is available (sold my Note while it was still worth something). I can't wait for the bigger screen. I understand not everyone wants it too.
I tried playing Asphalt 7 on the GS3 and it was just WAY too small, I could never play a fast paced game on this screen. That said I still love my S3 :good:

Screen sizes are perfect right now. 5 Inch might be a bit over-kill. I love the SGS3's screen size. I think they should work on colors and contrast ratio's, as well as low brightness mode.

Yes! Less size for the galaxies and focus on display quality, build quality and battery life.

[Q] White Galaxy Nexus Coming In Feb. Are You Getting It?

Keep hearing rumors of a white model coming pretty soon. Will you hold on to your silver model or will you be coming over to the white side?
Looks pretty sleek.

Looks pretty nice, but by Feb. I'll be probably be more hyped up about the Galaxy S III and whatever other phones are announced at CES.
Ewww. Reminds me of apple.

I would want one as long as it was like the nexus s, white back and sides and an all black front pane. If its like those renders I'll stick with my silver one .

Looks bland to me. For some reason my eyes refuse to accept that image

How real could this be?
The ICS color scheme doesn't really match that of this white version and I feel like by the time Feb rolls by there will be a phones that are already a lot better than the Galaxy Nexus. It just doesn't make any sense that they would release a white version, even if they did I think it would just be the back that's white.
One could give me that as a present and I'd sell it instantly.
White Nexus? With a Hello Kitty image on the backcover? Not with me.
I actually really like that, but I'm also happy with what I've got now
I don't know why but i don't like it my silver blue is very nice perfect for it

I agree it looks really nice,
Wow seems like a lot of people on both sides. I'm surprised so many of you actually like the White. I like all my electronics to be black.
Look nice......if you were a girl
Some phones look good in white, I don't think Galaxy Nexus is one of them. Works well with the black.
Picture looks like a bad photoshop.. but im pretty sure that if a white one comes out, its gona look waaay better.
I think I like more how I can't tell on black backgrounds where the screen ends and the phone begins.

[Q] Color Control for Note 2?

Hi,
I would like to know if it will be possible to implement Color Control (as used in many Galaxy Nexus custom kernels) in custom kernel for Galaxy Note 2?
Here's a link (it worked wonders on my old Galaxy Nexus!):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1521195
My Note 2 has a heavy green/yellowish tinted screen. The problem is much more pronounced than on my old Galaxy S3, which actually was quite bad, too...
Otherwise I have to return my Galaxy Note 2
This is a comparison between my calibrated LCD and my Note 2:

I got my replacement today. Still the same problem (at leaster better build quality). I've compared mine to other Galaxy Note 2, every single device I have seen had the same issue. So I guess there are many GN2 with that issue out there.

Mine doesn't actually appear to have any tint to it, but one of my hobbies if photography so I'm picky about colours

Do you have power saving mode on? There is a screen setting in the power save menu that tints the browser. Also try to use the "dynamic" screen setting instead of natural or the others. That fixed my tint.

One thing you are not seeing is that a screenshot can never represent a displays color reproduction. As you are eliminating the actual display and only looking at the image as it was rendered in the software. All screenshots from all devices will appear the same, however photos of the actual rendered image on screen will show variations. Using a calibrated display as a reference is the only way to have a solid comparison, just like the OP did. If you want to contribute, do the same.

No Exynos or Super Amoled for the Galaxy S4

http://www.sammobile.com/2013/02/23...xynos-inside-new-galaxy-s-iv-with-bootscreen/
the bootscreen is fake, and as with leaks specs can faked as well. The GS3 supposedly had a 13MP camera and a 3mp fromt face cam..... but we all know now that isn't the truth

..... just sayin' .....
I think the note2 once the gs4 come available will drop in price and would be a Better buy. My girl friend got the note 2 and I play around with her phone often and it's hard going back to my phone with no s pen and smaller screen I know what I'm getting.

Sammobile usually is spot on with info. Looks interesting to say the least.
Honestly I'm not mad about the gs4 not having an exynos processor. If anyone has looked at the power consumption for the dual core a15 soc in the n10 it's crazy high. So I could see why samsung would have a hard time getting it into a phone without it overheating or draining the battery. But the loss of a samoled screen is a little more I interesting. I don't know how true it is bit it could be a huge blow. And seeing some of the flexible displays were 5 inch 1080p versions I don't think it's far fetched to think they can't make one that can work in the s4
Would be awesome if it has a snapdragon
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
I'd take any rumor as of now with a grain of salt. I think Samsung's won the heart of many consumers with their Amoled screen. There's not much wrong with the technology, aside from screen burn in. The colors are so much more vibrant on an Amoled screen than any other.
As for the CPU, that's entirely possible since we've already experienced that with our current device. Wonder what's in store for us this time. Hopefully it's another Qualcomm CPU, since it plays nice with CDMA and EvDo.

G-Note 3 possible 6.3" screen

According to a recent engadget article, and new galaxy s4 game pad will support devices up to 6.3"
Makes you wonder.....

5.9 inches is enough!
if the physical size i bigger than the note 2, ill probably buy the S4 or wait for the S5. I love this phone and in no rush to upgrade, but i dont think i can handle it being physically bigger.
The Note 2 is already too big for the average person they are not going to make it any bigger. The game pad is still a prototype and i assume they will modify it to fit 7 inch devices such as the nexus 7 and the smaller Galaxy tabs. Veeeeery unlikley that they would make a bigger Note Phone. Maybe a new galaxy player 6.3 or something
Aww. Don't rain on the parade! Lol. 6.3 sounds great to me!
Think you are right about it being to big for average person. Wonder if that will really impact samsung's decision.

If you are brave enough to have a note you're not an average person . And for me bigger is better they really cant go bigger than 6.3 thats tru tablet territory. And it better not have a stupid home button or even capacitive buttons cuz the note 8 looks dumb with that button

Sticky thread

Why did you chose the 5x over the 6p?

Just curious to everyones answer.
Size. That's the only reason for me
edit: another reason is screen type. Prefer LCD

Ditto 6p too big
Same, the 5x's smaller size. 6p specs wrapped in a 5x size would have been great but oh well. Actually, the 5x is still a little bigger than I would have liked but still close enough to the Nexus 5 size.
I think just about everyone is going to say size. A few might say price
Primary reason was size. Then design. I think the 6P is ugly. 3rd reason is I like LG better than Huawei. 4th is price.

Size and only size.
Size mostly. I can't stand walking around with a device the size of a tablet. and of course since it was made by LG.
Size & LCD
I ordered both and will keep the one I like more
Size. Now if it 6P was the size of the Note 5 which has a great screen to body ratios of 76%, I would've considered going with that.
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S5.
Size. My sweet spot is between 5.2 and 5.5 inches.
Size is the one and only reason. Would have preferred 5 inch or under but don't have much choice.
Size. I have a Samsung s6 active for work and its huge. Im a little bummed the 5x is bigger than the 5. I can't do the 6" behemoths.

Size and Huawei
Nexus 6Phablet... No thanks. I hate Phablets.
size. I like 4.5-5". 5X is closer to that.
I'm pretty sure size and price would be the only two reasons.
Size matters for sure yo!!

Snapdragon 810.
It's also $200 more than the 5x in my country, and the 5x size is already pushing what I'm comfortable with (it's very tall and fairly wide for a 5.2" device).
